Chapter 8

More mysteries

Aaron's pov

I figured out who the person was and got out from under the bed, even if I was not exactly sure. Addison tried to drag me back on the floor, but I told her to follow my lead. My eyes widened when my instinct and clues were actually true. It was her… Bella… I hugged her tightly and she exhaled. She thought there were knights hidden in the room, but she had a good surprise. Addison was relieved that it was Bella.

''You'll have enough time to hug when we finally defeat the king.'' She whispered, but I didn't care.

I needed a quiet moment to hug her and reassure her that she is okay and we will save her.

''Addison and I are going to save you in no time and we will find a way out of here, don't worry…''

Bella had no hope left, but in the second she heard me say that I could feel she was more relaxed. We heard footsteps outside of the door and a high voice yelled:

''COME HERE, BELLA!''

Bella started shaking and whispered.

''I don't want to go back there…''

''You have to. I know it's hard, but if he suspects that Addison and I are here he is going to kill us both.'' I said, trying hard not to cry so I wouldn't scare her more than she already was.

''I don't know what he is going to do to me. Kill me, or worse…..''

''What could be worse?'' asked Addison for absolutely no reason, but she got no answer.

Addison and I hid under the bed again and Bella opened the door to hell. The king saw her and grabbed her hand aggressively.

''You have a kingdom to rule. You can't run away like that. How did you even get up? I tied you. Wait. Don't answer that.'' The king said.

''The rope was not tied properly.'' Bella answered with her voice trembling.

''I TOLD YOU NOT TO ANSWER!'' The king yelled.

He didn't want Bella to tell him that his trap was broken somehow, and he got so mad that he slapped her. Or so I heard. I was eavesdropping on their conversation, and it seemed like a slapping sound. I covered my mouth with my hand and I was about to break that door open out of angriness, even if it was unlocked. Who does he think he is to slap Bella?! I was about to go out there when Addison stopped me.

''I will tell you the same thing you told Bella. We will save her and get her out of this abusive 'relationship', if I can even call it that. You seem like you don't believe what you with your own mouth said…''

I remained speechless. I only said that to calm Bella down, but I didn't actually believe it.

Liliana's pov

As we were walking Ladybug took my hand and dragged me in a corner. I had no clue what she was up to. She said:

''Tikki, spots off.''

My mouth fell open when I saw how pretty she was in her civilian form.

''This is how I look like.''

''Wow! I love it.''

''Thanks. We have to go.''

I followed her to a bakery door.

''Do you want to get bread?''

''No, dummy! This is where I live! My parents are bakers!''

''That's so cool! I am never going to be hungry while I stay here!''

She laughed. Her parents spotted us talking outside and greeted us.

''Who is your new friend?''

She gave me a quick worried look and said:

''Liliana. She needs a place to stay for a few days. Can she stay with us?''

When I agreed to this I forgot that she had to ask her parents. I was convinced that they would straight up say no, but they said otherwise.

''Yes… as long as it's not for long.''

''I promise! You're the best!''

I was worried about the promise Ladybug made because I knew it would be more than a few days, but I just played along.

Ladybug welcomed me to her house. When I saw how sweet her parents were my eyes got watery. I didn't have parents anymore. My mom had a sentence for the next years ahead.

I climbed up the stairs to Ladybug's room and she introduced her civilian self to me.

''Call me Marinette.''

''Marinette… okay!''

She showed me the couch in her room I was going to sleep on. I was grateful because anything was better than the streets. I had the chance to talk to Marinette about the miraculouses and the plan we needed to defeat the figure.

''I guess we are going to be roommates for a while. Don't you have any luggage?''

I blinked and realised that I forgot my luggage at the hotel when I chased the kidnapper.

''I forgot it! We have to get it!''

''Oh fine, you might be lucky if it's still there. I can't come with you. I have some designs to finish.''

Before I got to ask about her designs I had to get my luggage. I said goodbye to Marinette's parents and shut the door behind me. I knew the road perfectly.

As I was walking on the streets back to the hotel I noticed someone suspicious with a black hoodie on. I ignored them until I saw a ring on their finger that was shining in the light of the afternoon sun. Could it be… the Miraculous of the Bear?! Right in that second I forgot about the luggage and secretly followed the strange person. What if it's the figure…? I shouldn't do this without someone to watch my back who has superpowers, but I guess I have to. If I don't do this now I will lose them in the crowd. That was clearly a decision I would regret later, but I did it anyway. They snuck in a corner, like Ladybug did. What's with the people of Paris and the corners? I rolled my eyes and continued my duty. If it actually was the Miraculous of the Bear, which I was 99 percent sure it was, I had to get it back so I could stop the figure from making the wish. Now he had the Miracle Box, but I soon realised that he didn't want to destroy the world, he just needed the wish for something all the miraculouses at once couldn't solve. The corner apparently hid a wooden door. I was too scared to go after him, so I decided to wait until he left to investigate the place. I stayed there for half an hour, and right when I was about to leave, I heard the door. It took me by surprise so the only thing that I could think of was the trashcan that was standing there. Nasty! I jumped in it and covered myself in junk so he wouldn't see me, and it worked! I was about to throw up. I prayed he wouldn't lock the door, but he didn't unlock anything when he arrived so I was almost sure he didn't have any keys to that place, and I was right. I know it seems creepy of me to follow someone, but I could swear I saw the Bear Miraculous. I couldn't let it go, so I just went for it.

It seemed like a normal house, and I felt bad for following that person to their own house. If they found me they would have thoughts that I wanted to rob them or something. I got ready to leave when I heard muffed screams coming from the floor. I put my ear on the floor, completely sure I heard something strange. The screams couldn't even be missed by someone who couldn't hear at all.

I hid under the table in case he came back and thought of ways to get down there.

End of chapter 8.

I hope I surprised you! I didn't do the pov of the people who aren't in the other dimension in a long time, so I thought you deserve to know what's going on in Paris. Who do you think is trapped in the mysterious house? Do you believe it could actually be the Miraculous of the Bear? Keep reading to find out!
