Chapter 23: Fun at the snow
The day is finally here. Bright morning shining upon the town. All members of the Literature Club up and ready to have some fun outside of the club. Earlier Sayori stopped by Michael's place to pick him so they could walk to the bus station together where they all agreed to meet at. Natsuki and Yuri meet up down the street before heading there together. Monika on the other hand went alone and left her house as soon as possible, not wanting her parents to see her off. When they all met up at the station, they all greeted each other. For a brief moment everyone felt a hint of déjà vu. Everyone remembering their trip to the indoor pool and they all hoped that things would go better than last time. They all took their seats and headed off to town. When they reached their destination Sayori played around in the snow for a bit.
Sayori: "Aw man! This is great. Look at all this snow."
Monika: "Come on Sayori the movie is going to start soon. We can play in the snow after."
Sayori: "Aw alright." She pouts.
Natsuki: "Come on its freezing."
They all went to the theater. During their walk they all looked around town seeing everyone having fun and relaxing during the snowing season. The people chatting, eating, and laughing. It was a great time to hang out and enjoy life. Soon enough they all reached their destination and went inside to see a bunch of people in the building.
Monika: "Well here we are."
Michael: "Seems like everyone else had the same idea."
Yuri: "Indeed"
Natsuki: "So what are we going to watch anyways?"
Monika: "We're going to watch this!" She points at a poster that contains the image of a superhero fighting some villains.
Natsuki: "Oh that? Why didn't you say something then?"
Monika: "I told you, it's a surprise."
Michael: "So what made you decide to watch this specifically?"
Monika: "I'm glad you asked. So, when I was looking around for what movie we could watch. I saw the reviews online about this movie and thought that this would be perfect for us to watch together. It contains romance for me, tragedy for Sayori, a motivated villain for Yuri along with a whole new world to explore, and most importantly action for you and Natsuki."
Michael: "Oh so you did research for us. That was nice of you."
Monika: "Yup, now come on everyone. Let's go get us some snacks and take our seats. I have them reserved for us so let's just grab some popcorn, drinks, and anything sweet."
Sayori: "Awesome!"
Natsuki: "Nice work Club President."
Yuri: "Oh this will be fun."
Michael: "I'm looking forward to the movie." They all grabbed what they wanted and headed off to take their seats.
After three hours had passed. They all left the theater satisfied.
Michael: "Well that was a great movie."
Yuri: "Agreed, I thought the villain's motives were justified, but how he handled it was wrong of him."
Natsuki: "That last fight scene was intense! I couldn't stay seated."
Sayori: "But it was so sad at the end."
Monika: "Yeah, but that's how life is. Even though it was just a movie it handled real life perfectly." They stopped walking.
Sayori: "So what now?"
Monika: "Well, how about we walk around town? There are plenty of outlets down the streets. Maybe we could find ourselves some new clothes or something?"
Sayori: "Great idea!"
Natsuki: "I guess that would be cool."
Yuri: "Uh … v-very well, but please know that I'm n-not good with c-crowds."
Monika: "That's fine. Don't worry we'll be here for you. What about you Michael?"
Michael: "Me?" He points to himself.
Monika: "Come on. You could help with our bags and maybe we could find you something new to wear."
Michael: "What's wrong with how I'm dressed?"
Monika: "Well with what I see, all you have are the same colors and style. Blue pants and a black t-shirt."
Michael: "H-hey! I'll have you know that I wear other clothes."
Monika: "Wearing a button shirt isn't all that different since it's the same color as your normal t-shirt."
Michael: "You're mean." He says sarcastically as everyone shares a laugh.
Monika: "Now come on everyone! Let's go shopping now!"
They all follow Monika as she guides them around the outlets. All five of them looked in aw with all the variety the streets had to offer.
Sayori: "Look at all those clothing stores!"
Natsuki: "Look there's even a Manga shop!"
Yuri: "There's a bookstore here too."
Monika: "Pretty cool place huh?"
Michael: "Where should we go first?"
Yuri: "I'm going to the bookstore if you don't mind?"
Monika: "I'll go with you and after that we could go get ourselves some new clothes?" Both Monika and Yuri enter the library.
Natsuki: "Hey Michael, do you want to check out the Manga shop?"
Michael: "I don't see why not. Sayori, you tagging along?"
Sayori: "Sure, then maybe after we're done, we could catch up with Monika and Yuri?" They all enter the shop together. Both parties spent about at least thirty minutes looking around before meeting up outside. "What did the both of you find?"
Monika: "I couldn't find anything interesting for myself."
Yuri: "I found myself some great novels that I can't wait to read later." She pulls a bag that has three books inside.
Monika: "What about you three?"
Sayori: "Me and MC couldn't find anything, but Natsuki did."
Monika: "Really? What did you find?"
Natsuki: "The next volume of Parfait Girls. Can't wait to read it."
Monika: "That's great to hear. Nice to see some people found something enjoyable. So, who's ready for our next trip?"
Sayori: "I am!"
Monika: "Then let's head to that store." She points to one of the clothing stores.
Michael: "Wait isn't that for women only?"
Monika: "It sure is. Come on Michael we're going to need your help." Her and Sayori grab his arms.
Michael: "W-w-w-w-w-wait! Anywhere but there! Yuri, Natsuki, help!" They all ignore him and drag him into the store.

For the next hour Michael spent watching each of the girls try out new clothes. Each clothes they tried only made him blush as he could feel the eyes of other's staring right at him. He started to wonder if they thought he was either a womanizer or a homosexual? (Knew I should've stayed in bed today. I'm so embarrassed now.) His lips twitches as the girls show off what they found.
With each of the girls, they would show off what they found and ask what his thoughts about them are. Sayori would always go for a more simple design such as blue shorts with a sweater similar to how she usual wears at home or go for a more cute design like a blue dress with black poke a dot shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
Natsuki would go for her usual cute attire wearing a black shirt with frills with white shorts and a black hat to go with it. Other times when Michael compliments her, she would fluster and change into something else that wouldn't make her cute. Unfortunately for her, whatever she does decide to wear would only make her cuter than before. Hell, some would ask if she doesn't want to look cute, then why try them on?
While Natsuki and Sayori looked around for the next outfit to wear, Monika would show off her style. She would go for either a business-like outfit or fashionable look. When she goes for a business-like attire, she would wear a black and white suit with the white shirt having what looks like frills on it sticking out of the black jacket. When she would go for the fashionable look she would wear dark blue pants, a black and green stripped shirt with a black jacket and hat. To everyone she looked like a model.
Monika: "Hey has anyone seen Yuri?"
Sayori: "No I haven't?"
Natsuki: "Wonder where she went?"
Yuri: "I never left."
Monika: "Yuri? Where are you?"
Yuri: "I'm still in the changing room." She reveals her hand waving.
Monika: "What are you still doing there? You haven't shown off anything to us. Is something wrong?"
Yuri: "Oh n-no. I-it's just …"
Monika: "Yes?"
Yuri: "I'm just too embarrassed to do this."
Monika: "Come on Yuri. I bet you look great with whatever you decide to wear. Come on now. Let the others see what you got."
Yuri: "V-very well." She opens the curtains to show she's wearing a black shirt with a fishnet design and a purple bow on it along with black jeans. Not only did she change clothes, but she also changed her hair style into a ponytail. She kind of looked gothic in a way.
[Song Ends]
"D-does this not suit me? If it looks bad th-then I would understand."
[No Surprise - Daughtry]
Monika: "No it doesn't look bad. Do you guys agree?"
Sayori: "No you look so cute!"
Natsuki: "Meh it looks alright on you."
Monika: "Michael? Doesn't she look cute?"
Michael: "Uh?" Both him and Yuri look away with a tint of red on their faces.
Yuri: "M-M-Michael, it's alright if you dislike it." She says timidly.
Michael: "N-no that's not it. I-i-it's just … I … I don't know how to say it. I-I think you look beautiful." He says shyly and quietly.
Yuri: "I'm sorry I didn't hear you. Could you say that again?"
Michael: "I think it looks great on you." He says fast.
Yuri: "I-I see. Thank you for saying such kind words." She shyly smiles.
Monika: "Well I think that turned out great. Is everyone ready to purchase and head out?"
Michael: "I am!" *Coughs* "I mean I'm ready to leave when you girls are ready."
Monika: "Alright then let's head out." They all make their purchases before heading back outside.
Natsuki: "I can't believe they were on sale."
Sayori: "I know right? What a steal."
Monika: "Well since we're done with our shopping …"
Michael: (Thank God.)
Monika: "It's time to find Michael something he could wear."
Michael: "Wait what!?" They all drag him to the men's clothing store. "Aw come on!"
Another two hours had passed as the girls try to look for outfits he could wear. Each of the girls decided to have a competition of what would look great on him and if they could convince him to buy it. Michael went through fifty different styles and colors. Some looked good on him, some not, and others that made him look hot if he decides to cut his hair.
They all took turns giving him something to wear. Sayori would make him wear stuff that made him look like an athlete. Natsuki would get him into a more cutesy look despite it not working out for him and instead made him look and feel dumb. Yuri would go for a more sophisticated look, as for Monika, she would dress him into a more fashionable look. To them he looked like a male model. In the end they all couldn't decide what worked best and all had a conversation of what did work and what didn't work as Michael can be seen on the floor tired by what he had gone through. In the end they all decided to call it truce and left the store. All four girls talked while Michael stays at the far back looking tired.
Sayori: "So what's next?" Monika smiles with confidence.
Monika: "We're going to our next destination."
Yuri: "Where are we heading off to, if I may ask?"
Monika: "Remember that secret spot I told you about yesterday?"
Yuri: "Yes, I remember."
Monika: "That's where we're going, so everyone follow me." They all did what she asked and followed her. While they walked, they could see the lights reflecting on the snow. With the sun settling and the night falling. The lights hitting the snow sparkled like the stars above.
[Song Ends]
"We're here everyone." She shows off what looks like a private spot in the beach. "Looks awesome right?"
Yuri: "It's Beautiful" She says with the calming waves and the moon reflecting the beach.
Monika: "And the best part is, we get the whole place to ourselves. Don't have to worry about crowds."
Yuri: "I see."
Natsuki: "Cool place, so what are we going to do here?"
Monika: "We're going to have our own little party." She pulls out her phone and a mini speaker. "So how about some music to get us started?"
Sayori: "Now we're talking!"
She yells as Monika hooks her phone to the speaker and started playing some random music. Despite its size it gave off good quality sound as if it belonged to one of those larger ones kept at home for parties. Monika and Sayori started to dance while Natsuki builds up the courage to start busting her own moves. The only ones who didn't join them were Yuri and Michael.
Monika: "Come on you two join us."
Yuri: "Oh no I possible couldn't. I don't know how to dance."
Monika: "That's okay so long as you have fun, just go for it. What about you Michael?"
Michael: "Well I probably shouldn't?"
Monika: "How come?"
Michael: "Well let's just say I don't want to show my skills."
Sayori: "Come on MC join us and show off your moves." She says as she spins.
Michael: "Oh no I couldn't."
[Tonight by Enrique Iglesias]
"Oh no, not this song." His heart started to race.
Yuri: "What's wrong Michael?" She looks as his foot started tapping and his head bopping.
Michael: (How long has it been since I did this? This rush of nostalgia. I can feel my body moving on its own. It's as if it wants to do this for old time's sake? Guess I still have some left in me after all this time.) What started off as just tapping his foot soon started with him moving around his body in slow motion as he makes his way to the middle of the floor.
Sayori: "MC?"
Natsuki: "Woah, is he going for it?"
Monika: "Now that's what I'm talking about."
He continues to move his body slowly as if to build up what's to come which made his heart race even faster and as soon as the song picked up. Michael lost all control of his body and started to bust his own set of moves. All four girls stopped whatever they were doing to watch him show off his skills. They witnessed something outstanding as his movements were hypnotic. They were mesmerized at how he moved his body, that they couldn't look away. The movement of his feet, the way he shakes his hips, the way he moves his arms around. All four of them couldn't believe what they were seeing. That no words could be said. All they could do was watch his feet glide through the floor and the movement similar to that of a professional.
The way he spins on the heel of his foot, the way he taps it, and the way he moves his hips. They all started to wonder how he's able to move that slick. It didn't help as he was literally on the spotlight with the girls all around him as he pulls off these moves. The girls started to ask themselves if they just learned something new about him as he continues to dance the night away. As they watch, Monika notices something about Michael. Something she rarely ever sees even when he's moving.
Monika: (Is he … smiling?)
As he continues moving his body around. It was only the beginning as he takes off his jacket and demonstrates moves yet to be seen.
Natsuki: (How is he doing that?) She asks herself as he slides to the side only to end it with a spin with the heel of one foot.
For a split second, just when it looked like he was going to slip which made the girls panic as they thought he was about to fall over. In truth it was all part of his act as he immediately got back up before falling and continues dancing
Yuri: (I didn't know he could do that?)
Sayori: "Dang MC! Keep going."
As the song came near its end, he found it appropriate to go all out which shocked the girls even more. Thinking he couldn't be any more amazing. When the song came to its end, he posed.

Michael: "Aw crap I showed off too much." He says with his face turning red as the girls started clapping. "Huh?"
Sayori: "That was awesome!"
Yuri: "Agreed, that was outstanding."
Natsuki: "Those are some nice moves you pulled off."
Monika: "I didn't know you could dance?"
Michael: "Y-yeah"
Monika: "Where did you learn moves like that?"
Michael: "Uh … well that's a story for another day." (Crap my instinct kicked in when this song played.) He looks at the girls who were impressed by him. (Well, this does feel very nostalgic.)
?: "Well, well look what we have here?" Everyone follows where the voice came from. "When I heard the music playing and the girls clapping. I couldn't help but see it for myself." Said the girl dressed in black pants, a hot pink shirt, and a black jacket.
Natsuki: "Who the hell are you?"
Yuri: "Natsuki, don't be rude." Monika walks in front of them.
Monika: "Sorry for my friend's rudeness. May I ask who you are?" She says seriously.
?: "Oh sorry, but I think it would be better for him to tell you?" The blonde points at someone as all four girls look to where she's pointing.
Monika: "Michael?"
Yuri: (He knows her?)
Sayori: "MC, who is she?"
Michael: "... She's … my girlfriend, Sara."
