Chaoter 2: Sandman Vs Nocturne
When Pitch Black first came upon Amity Park, he was astonished on how much fear such a small town had. It had taken him a few weeks to get to the town since his powers were still drained. So when he finally arrived he saw what had everyone walking in fear, it was ghosts. The town was infested with them.
Each time there was an attack, Pitch would collect the fear to regain his energy. Before long he noticed one particular ghost was different than all the others. This ghost didn't terrorize the humans like all the others, at least not on purpose, no this ghost saved the annoying mortals and most of them loved him for it.
Whenever this ghost did battle with another ghost, Pitch would lurk in the shadows and watch this young ghost as he learned how to use his powers and try to fight the more experienced and powerful beings, except one. That one measly that called itself The Box Ghost. Pitch rolled his eyes in disgust at that one.
With the strange ghostly energy that surrounded the town, Pitch discovered new abilities he never had before. For example, he can make shadows that look very realistic, he also realized he could steal small pieces of the ghosts' shadows and make them do his bidding.
During certain fights Pitch would create a distraction and use his sand to create a distraction and use the nearest shadow to create his own version of that ghost. So far he'd made shadow copies of ghosts named Spectra, Skulker, Youngblood and an odd ghost by the name of Vlad Plasmius. He wasn't exactly a ghost, more like a creepy obnoxious man with ghost-like abilities.
Pitch decided he should also try to actually recruit some of these ghosts and if it doesn't work then he'll continue stealing their shadows and creating a shadow army.
Down in his new lair, Pitch was busy making new nightmare creatures and monitoring the Guardians. The small black sand bat flew in from a nearby shadow and started flying around the Boogeyman's head.
"Stop that you infernal cloud of dust! Did you find anything useful about the boy or those friends of his that always seem to be near him? If you didn't then you shouldn't have come back at all."
The tiny bat landed on its master's shoulder and started chittering in his ear. "So the loud girl has a mini ghost portal for that green monstrosity they call a dog. I'll have to find a way into that place when no one's home. Was there anything else that you found out?"
The little bat chattered again. "The strange meat loving one got his food stolen by the mutt. Why would I care about this information. Go back and see how effective my dream sand is on the boy and his..." Pitched tutted in disdain. "Friends. I don't see the point in something like that."
The little bat flew away into the darkness of the caves leaving Pitch alone with his thoughts. Pitch walked through his new lair creating what he saw fit. Cells appeared nearby as he walked through the spacious caverns. Torches appeared in the tunnels, barely lighting anything in the darkness.
Finally entering the center cavern connecting all the tunnels and caves Pitch stood at the very center of the room and created a globe much bigger than the one in his old lair. "Now this feels like home." The Sandman of the dark turned to look towards the hole in the ceiling where the moon shown brightly. "Why bother asking questions you already know the answers to." There was a brief silence before the gray skinned man spoke again, "I highly doubt the guardians of nothingness can stop me with my new powers. Those so called halfas may be able to sense me, but even the mortals with their strange devices can't even see what sends a chill down their spine. Now if you'll excuse me, I have nightmares to give." The boogeyman stood there smirking as a shadow swallowed him whole.
Elsewhere in Amity Park...
The little bat was flying through the night, enjoying the current peacefulness of flying. He already knew where the strange boy and his friends lived, which was why he took his time getting to their houses. The little bat quickly found himself outside the loud girl's house and flew around for a decent shadow to sneak through.
The little bat easily found one and emerged from the shadow to see an empty hallway. He chose a random direction and happened upon a couple sleeping soundly in one of the many bedrooms. His master only said to give the loud girl bad dreams so he left the couple alone.
The little bat could hear faint barking with his sensitive hearing and followed the sound upstairs to a room on the next level at the end of the hall. Turning into a dust cloud he slipped under the door. The barking was slightly louder but muffled. Glancing around the room he noticed it didn't match the rest of the house at all. This room was dark and grim while everything else was bright and cheerful. The little bat ignored the barking for now and flew over to the loud girl. She already seemed to be having a restless sleep, probably because of the barking coming from behind some other door in the room. The nightmare sand disappeared before reaching the loud girl. His mission was completed in seconds. Now that that was over and done with, the little bat decided to investigate the barking.
Cujo could have easily phased through the door, if the entire room hadn't been coated in a layer of ectoplasmic paint that Danny created so the Box Ghost would stop breaking into toy stores. The kids decided that Sam's house would be the trial run for it since Cujo stayed in Sam's room when he's not reaping havoc in town or in the ghost zone.
The little bat saw the strange dog whimpering in a corner of what he'd learned early on was something called a bathroom. It didn't take long for the little bat to notice the glowing green puppy whimpering in the corner near the toilet. He felt bad for the pup and decided to try and open the door. Flying over to the door, the tiny mammal hung upside down on the door handle. He managed to open it enough for the strange pup to slip through.
Cujo noticed the strange ghost managed to open the door. He was so happy that he tackled his new friend and licked his face. Getting off the other ghost, Cujo flew over to the door and barked for the other to follow.
After leaving the bathroom, the ghost dog led his new friend to the poster above the gloomy girl's head. He turned intangible and flew through the wall. Behind the poster was Cujo's own personal entryway into the ghost zone.
The little bat was surprised when his new friend flew through the poster. Not wanting to be left behind the little bat turned into a small dust cloud and slipped through the space between the poster and the wall, entering the ghost zone in the process.
The two flying friends took off into the Ghost Zone in search of adventure and snacks. Neither animal saw the large shadow of a ghost squeeze through the small portal before it closed.
On the outskirts of Amity Park...
Sanderson Mansnoozie AKA The Sandman or Sandy was just about to leave the small town before he sensed something. Someone was forcing mortals to go into a deathly slumber.
It wasn't too hard for the golden man to find the source. It was a strait trail of houses leading to the otherside of town. Once at the end of the trail, Sandy found himself at an abandoned mattress factory. Looking in through a broken window, he immediately sees the source of the deep slumber, a strange glowing figure. Its body almost looked like the night sky and it had two horns growing out of its head.
The dream warrior realized that the strange being he was seeing was a ghost. Its been centuries since he'd seen a ghost. This was his second encounter to be exact.
Making sure not to be seen, Sandy snuck into the mattress factory and took the ghost by surprise.
Nocturne was so busy absorbing the dreams of the mortals he'd put in comas that Sandy's attack made him lose complete focus over the dreams making several humans all over Amity Park wake u in a panic.
The Sandman wasted no time in trapping the ghost in a golden sphere of sand. Nocturne tried escaping but to no avail. "I don't know who or what you are but you better release me or feel the wrath of Nocturne! The ghost of sleep! No one is more powerful than me! My..."
Whatever the ghost was saying, the golden short man couldn't hear it. His golden sphere was soundproof. Which meant talking was pointless. Sandy tightened his hold on the golden sphere before taking out his emergency snow globe that North gave all the guardians. Since the dream warrior didn't speak this globe was specially designed to go wherever his images showed.
As soon as the globe started glowing The Sandman threw it down and watched a portal appear out of thin air. The other side of it showing several yetis working on toys and small elves creating small bits of chaos.
The silent guardian felt there was still something wrong but the portal was already closing. He looked around the abandoned factory before stepping through the portal and suddenly appeared in a magical workshop hidden somewhere in the North Pole.
