Chapter 4; Knowledge
Before I start, Heartdrop21 asked a question. Heartdrop21 asked if I am going to do the series too? And I am, because the series is between the movies and if I skipped them, then things won't make since for the second move.
After Gobber let them all go, Hiccup, Eric, Flare, Knight, and Tera, who was in Eric's bag, went back to the crash site. Hiccup looked at the rope he cut, and Eric said to him. "I don't think we are going to get any answers."
"Yeah, this was stupid."
"I wouldn't say that. I can show you how to use this." Eric said, pulling out the Pokeball. Hiccup then said to Eric as Eric gave him the Pokeball. "So what does this do?"
"You can use it to catch Pokemon."
"Really?"
"I'll show you." Eric said as he touched Tera's head and Tera went inside. After the Pokeball stopped shaking after three times, a click sound was heard along with a star that appeared in the flash. Hiccup then said to Eric. "What happened?"
"Tera is now safely inside." Eric said before Tera burst out of the Pokeball. Hiccup then said to Eric. "What happened?"
"Tera, along with a few other Pokemon, can come out of their Pokeballs on their own. Now you try." Eric said as he pulled out two more Pokeballs. Eric gave one to Hiccup and said. "Now repeat after me." Eric then touched the top of Knight's head. Hiccup did the same with Flare. Both Pokemon entered the Pokeballs. And once they were caught, Eric then said to Hiccup. "And to let a Pokemon out you need to do this." Eric then let Knight out from the Pokeball.
They followed Eric and stopped a few feet away from a flock of small grey birds. Eric then said to Hiccup. "Ok I want you to throw the Pokeball at that flock of Starly's."
"Ok?" Hiccup said, before throwing the Pokeball. The throw was weak, but it did hit one of the Starly's. The Starly was confused as a bright light surrounded it. And the flock flew away, because they saw their friend disappear into the Pokeball. Once Starly was caught, they both walked over to the Pokeball and Eric said picking it up. "And that's how you catch a Pokemon." Eric gave the Pokeball to Hiccup. Hiccup looked at Eric and said. "Why are you giving me this?"
"You caught it. You are its trainer. Plus you could use a Pokemon that isn't fresh from the egg." Eric said and then gave the Pokeball to Hiccup. Once the Pokeball was in Hiccup's hands.
Then they noticed that they had found a cove that had a tree growing out of it and a small lake. Hiccup then noticed black and dark blue dragon scales on the ground. As Hiccup picked one up, the Night Fury flew past them. Then they both noticed that the Night Fury was trying to fly out of the cove. It failed and landed safely at the bottom. Then the Steam Whip appeared out of the lake with some fish for the Night Fury.
Hiccup got closer and started to draw the Night Fury in his notebook. As Eric got closer, Hiccup had finished his drawing, and said. "Why don't you just fly away?"
"Hiccup, look at the Night Fury's tail and the back of the Steam Whip." Eric said, and Hiccup along with the Pokemon noticed that the Steam Whip had old scars on its back, not from a Night Fury but from a different kind of dragon, and the Night Fury was missing a tail wing, but the wound was fresh. Eric then said to Hiccup. "I think the Night Fury saved the Steam Whip from another dragon, that's why it was following the Night Fury."
"Yeah. And the reason the Night Fury can't fly is because it lost a tail wing during the crash I caused."
"Then let's get out of here before they notice us." Eric said but then Hiccup dropped his writing utensil. The sound of the object falling caught their attention, and they noticed them. They then left before the dragons could do anything to them.
After they were far enough from Eric said to Hiccup. "I were safe now."
"Yeah, they didn't seem too happy to see us."
"Wouldn't you be mad at the guy that seriously hurt you?"
"I guess so."
"Ok, now then how about you let Starly out?" Eric said and Hiccup let Starly out. Once Starly was out, Eric noticed that Starly was a guy and he wasn't scared. He was happy to be with new Pokemon. As Starly flew into the air and showed off some amazing flying skills. Hiccup then said to Eric. "Looks like that Starly has a real knack for flying."
"Yes, he does. So are you going to use him in tomorrow's class?"
"No, I have something different in mind for him. Hey, Knack, can you come down?" Hiccup said to Starly. Starly realized that Hiccup had given him the nickname Knack, and flew onto Hiccup's right arm. Once Knack was on Hiccup's right arm, Hiccup said to Knack. "Can you do me a favor and keep an eye on the Night Fury and Steam Whip?" Knack nodded no. Before Hiccup could ask why, the sound of thunder could be heard. Hiccup got the idea and said. "Ok, then what about tomorrow morning?" Knack nodded yes and then Hiccup and Eric returned their Pokemon to the Pokeball's just as it started to rain.
Then they went to the Great Hall. Before going inside they let out Flare and Knight. Once they walked inside, they saw that Gobber was talking to the Viking Teens. "Where did Astrid go wrong in the ring today?"
"I mistime my somersault dive. It was sloppy. It threw off my reverse tumble." Astrid said before Ruffnut said. "Yeah, we noticed."
"No, no, you were great. That was so "Astrid." Snotlout said and then Gobber said. "She's right. You have to be tough on yourselves. Where did Hiccup go wrong?"
"Uh, he showed up." Ruffnut said before Tuffnut said. "He didn't get eaten."
"He's never where he should be." Astrid said as Hiccup and Eric got food for them and their Pokemon. Gobber then said to them. "Thank you, Astrid. You need to live and breathe this stuff." Gobber then pulled out a book and said. "The Dragon Manual. Everything we know about every dragon we know of." Then Gobber stopped and heard nothing but thunder. "No attacks tonight. Study up." Gobber said as he and Coal left. Tuffnut then said. "Wait, you mean read?"
"While we're still alive?" Ruffnut said before Snotlout said. "Why read words when you can just kill the stuff the words tell you stuff about?"
"I've read it seven times. There's this water dragon that sprays boiling water at your face. And there's this other one…" Fishlegs said before Tuffnut stopped him by saying. "Yeah. That sounds great. There was a chance I'd read it…"
"But now…" Tuffnut said before Snotlout said. "You guys read. I'll go kill stuff." Everyone started to leave and Hiccup said to Astrid. "So I guess we'll share?"
"Read it." Astrid said as she and Spikeball left too. "Man, she is super friendly." Eric said as the last of the Vikings left. Hiccup and Eric let out Knack and Tera. And as the Pokemon were eating Hiccup and Eric opened the book and they started to read the book. And to Eric's surprise the Viking Language was close to the Pokemon Language, so Eric was able to read most of what the book said. The book told them that dragons fell into 7 Classes. Stoker Class, dragons that had powerful fire abilities. Boulder Class, dragons that had a connection to the earth. Fear Class, dragons that used stealth skills more than anything else. Sharp Class, dragons that had razor sharp claws or scales. Mystery Class, dragons that have very unique powers. Tidal Class, dragons that lived in the water. So Eric wasn't surprised to learn that Steam Whips were Tidal Class dragons. And the final class was Strike Class, dragons with blazing speed and extreme intelligence. There wasn't much in the Strike Class, but there was a waning on the blink page for the Night Fury. You see the book said that if you see any dragon kill it on sight, but when it came to a Night Fury, it said, "The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Never engage this dragon. Your only chance: hide and pray it does not find you."
