30 years ago, a new kind of disaster struck the world, Spacequakes. If not for Mio Takamiya and her Deus Industries, humanity might not still exist to this day. On the place the first Spacequake happened, a portal to another world opened, and so an organization was created to explore that world and find a way to end the Spacequakes. Shido, with an unique ability, joins them.

Hello everyone, I hope you've enjoyed the first volume of this.

I've known I wanted to write a DAL fanfic for a long while, but I had a hard time figuring out what exactly I wanted. I honestly nearly gave up multiple times, I thought that what I wanted to do was simply impossible, until I had the idea for this. While not exactly what I had in mind, it's probably as close as it's going to get.

Of course, this story is based on Date A Live, but it's meant to be an alternative universe. There will obviously be references to the light novels and whatnot, but this isn't meant to follow on that in any kind of way. I hope you guys enjoy seeing my spin on things.

And I think I should also mention that more characters will be showing up, from both DAL and DAB (as you might have guessed from Maya here). For the fans of the original LN Spirits, don't worry, I made sure that everyone would eventually show up here.

I should probably also mention that another big source of inspiration for this story was the light novel series Masou Gakuen HxH. It's basically where the mecha and ecchi elements came from.

Now, to talk about what happens in this first volume… well, it's a general introduction volume. The main focus of it is to give a general feel of this world and the characters than to really explore the plot, so I don't want to say too much to avoid spoilers, but I'm pretty sure you all noticed some interesting plot points I set up. Think of this like a trial for me to feel the waters.

I'm still not exactly sure how long this story will be. I do have the script fully ready, but I don't know if I want this to be short and to the point or if I want to explore it as much as I can. I guess I'll see depending on the feedback.

What I will say is that I won't make the same mistake as I did with my previous fanfic. I will be putting this out as volumes, and while I'd love to tell you guys something like "I'll post a volume every month" or something like that, it would be irresponsible of me. I'll work on each volume until I'm satisfied, and then I'll post them. I don't know how long that'll be, so all I'm be able to do is ask everyone to have some patience.

Of course, if you feel like I'm taking too long, or just want to talk, you can always message me. As long as I see them, I try to reply to all messages.

So yeah, that's about it for me for now. I don't want to talk too much since I don't want to spoil things, but I think I've got some nice stuff prepared, so if you've come this far and you've enjoyed it, please stick around and continue reading.
