One day, while Shido was still out, Mio suddenly called all the girls from the Spirit Team to her office. She said she wanted to get their thoughts on a few things and also had something to show them.

She asked them various things, such as what they were thinking about the Spirit Team, their progress with Shido so far and in the foreseeable future, and more. Although everyone was in the room together, Mio did her best to get everyone to be as honest as possible.

It didn't take long for them to finish answering her questions. Mio nodded in satisfaction and then spoke.

"Good. And, about the thing I wanted to show everyone… are you all still curious about how Shin's ability was discovered and how Ellen used it?"

It had been something that was shoved to the corner of their minds, but the girls suddenly remembered it. They looked at each other and then all nodded.

Of course they were curious. There was the wonder of how they figured out Shido's ability, but more than that, they were curious about Ellen.

Did she and Shido have some kind of spicy secret relationship? Maybe she was frustrated one day and decided to seduce him? Maybe Shido prefers older women?

A teenage girl's imagination is really something. Mio thought about hiding it for a while more, but she decided to show it to them. Maybe it would serve as an incentive to get them to make use of Shido's ability.

"Maria, Marina, please play the video."

With that, the room's lights turned off, and a projector turned on. The image was being projected on the wall, and everyone looked at it with attentive eyes.

A good while back, before Shido and the others officially joined the NWET.

Shido was going to take his compatibility test, but maybe there had been a drought of anything exciting happening, a lot of reporters seemed to be trying to cover this story. Things got to the point where Shido had trouble going to school for a few days.

Of course, it would be problematic to take the test like this. So Mio arranged a special time for Shido to take his test.

"So, ready for the test, Shido?"

"Yeah. I'll be in your care."

Needless to say, someone needed to apply the test on Shido. To avoid the possibility of anything leaking to reporters, Ellen was chosen to do it.

Normally, Karen would be better suited for this kind of job, but Mio had given her something else to do on that day. She might not be as smart as her sister, but Ellen was more than capable of performing this test on Shido.

"While I get everything ready, do you want me to explain to you how the test works?"

"I only have about the same knowledge as the general public, so if you think I need to know more, please tell me."

In all honesty, unless you were talking about the specifics or something, the general public knowledge was fine for anyone taking the test.

That said, Ellen was a bit bored as she got the equipment ready, so she decided to explain what she knew to Shido.

In summary, the machine used for the test is similar to a MRI machine. That is to say that a person lies down on it, goes into the machine, and the Realizer installed on the machine runs a series of tests on the person.

While the main objective of this is to verify a person's compatibility with the Realizers, a series of other tests are also mixed in. After all, no matter how high a person's compatibility is, if they have some kind of chronic illness, they can't be allowed in the NWET.

There have actually been many cases where some diseases were discovered early thanks to this test, and many lives were saved by it. Of course, the test is private, but the person is free to do as they please with the results.

And that's also another reason why Shido's test can't be done publically. If some kind of disease were detected, it would be best to try and find a way to deal with it, rather than shout out for all to hear as the media would likely do.

"Anyway, this should be about fine. Now all that's left is to calibrate the machine."

"Calibrate? And how is that done?"

"Oh, it's quite simple. Since I recently updated my compatibility, I can just take a test myself and the results should be basically the same. It'll be easy to figure out if the machine needs to be calibrated or if it's broken."

Shido nodded. That seemed like a simple and quick way to do it. The test only takes a few minutes after all, and as Ellen said, if the results don't match, it'll show that there's some kind of problem with the machine.

After everything seemed set, Ellen grabbed something and then went to the nearby changing room. After a few seconds, she came back.

"W-woah!"

Shido couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. After all, Ellen was wearing some very revealing underwear.

That underwear was actually made from the same material as the NWET's plugsuits. Much like those, this is so their clothes don't get in the Realizer's way. And again, much like the plugsuits, or most underwear for that matter, they were quite revealing, and since they were a one-size-fits-all disposable clothing, they were quite tight-fitting on the body.

Shido was a teenage boy, and Ellen was a beautiful woman. It's only natural that, in that situation, he'd look at her with lust-filled eyes. Ellen didn't seem to mind, or maybe she didn't even realize it, but she eventually turned to Shido, maybe he was staring too much.

"What's wrong?"

"A-ah, no, nothing. I was just surprised."

In all likelihood, Ellen hadn't realized the situation she put Shido in, since she just nodded as if it was nothing.

Shido did his best to calm himself down. He tried reminding himself that the NWET's plugsuits were very revealing, and given the high female-male ratio, he would have to get himself used to it if he planned on joining. Little did he imagine what the future had in stock for him.

So this was just training, yes. And as training, it's fine if he looks at Ellen. If that image happens to get burned into his mind or what he would do with it later were of no importance.

"Well, I'm going to go now. Can you press that button for me, Shido?"

"A-ah, yes."

Ellen laid down on the machine and Shido pressed the button she indicated. A mechanical sound could be heard as Ellen's body was moved inside the machine.

The Realizer did its thing and, after a few minutes, it was finished. Ellen got up and walked over to where Shido was to check the results.

"Hm, everything matches. Looks like everything's fine."

"Yeah…"

Shido could only give a weak reply. That's because, knowingly or not, Ellen's breast was rubbing against his arm. Since the underwear's material was thin, after all it was meant to not get in the Realizer's way as much as possible, Shido felt like he was touching her bare skin.

It's amazing how every one of Shido's nerves seemed to concentrate on the few centimeters of his arm that were in contact with Ellen.

"Now it's your turn. Grab some underwear and get changed, Shido."

Shido couldn't reply, but he nodded. He took one of those disposable underwears, obviously a male version, and went to the changing room.

There, Shido did his best to ignore Ellen's clothes thrown about, especially her underwear. Though he had to admit to himself, the pink panties looked pretty cute.

Regardless, he eventually got changed and, despite the embarrassment, got on the machine and waited for Ellen to start the test.

Shido had never been in a machine like this for any exam or anything similar, so he would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit nervous, but he also had to admit he was a little excited. The minutes passed quickly and the test ended.

"Come see your results."

Ellen called for Shido, so he walked up to her. Thankfully, no disease was detected, Shido was as healthy as he had ever been.

But the main star of this test was obviously the compatibility value. Slightly nervous, Shido looked at the number display on the screen.

"100%...?"

"Yeah. I kind of expected it, but you really got the same score as Mio. Maybe genetics has something to do with it."

That wasn't impossible, but it wasn't really something Shido cared about. Excitement soon took over where nervousness had previously been, he had already begun to imagine a life full of action and adventures.

"Before you start daydreaming, press the button for me again."

"Huh? Why?"

"It's just protocol. It's just to make sure that the machine didn't happen to break down right after we calibrated it."

"Ah, yeah, that makes sense."

Ellen once again laid down on the machine and Shido pressed the button. In the few minutes while the machine did its thing, Shido couldn't help but start daydreaming.

He imagined a future where he was trained by Ellen. Thanks to that, he would one day succeed her as the strongest. He imagined himself like an anime character, whose mere presence was enough to get the public fired up.

Of course, there was also something else on his mind. As mentioned before, the female-male ratio is pretty high on the NWET. If things went as he planned, maybe he'd even be able to meet a nice girl here, or maybe it would even be one of the ones he already knew.

While Shido was busy with those delusions, the machine finished its thing and once again Ellen walked up to where Shido was to check the results.

"... Huh? Weird…"

Hearing that brought Shido back to Earth. Was something wrong? Had the machine really broken down on his turn and his score was a lie?

Shido looked at the screen. Everything was just like Ellen's first test, except the compatibility score. That had somehow risen.

Of course, Shido knows that the compatibility doesn't just increase like that. It could take years for a minimal increase to be noticed. Had the machine seriously broken down?

"But it's weird that only the compatibility changed. I'll have to have Karen check it. Sorry, Shido, looks like you can't celebrate just yet."

"I see…"

Shido couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. Still, he knew there was nothing to be done about it but wait.

Ellen noticed Shido seemed a little down, so she gave him a hug to try and cheer him up.

"Hey now, even if the machine is broken, it doesn't seem like it's making too big of a mistake. My bet is still on that you have some pretty high compatibility."

"T-thanks."

By the way, Ellen was still only wearing the disposable underwear, and so was Shido, meaning that their hug felt quite… intimate, to say the least. But it seems Ellen hadn't yet realized Shido's predicament, nor did she notice something hard pressing against her stomach.

"So you wait here a bit and I'll quickly get changed and see if I can bring Karen. Maybe we can solve this quickly."

Ellen said as she let go of Shido. She began to walk towards the changing room. But, somehow, she slipped. It wasn't that the floor was slippery or anything, yet she somehow slipped all on her own.

As luck would have it, she fell on Shido. Of course, she didn't just fall normally, but rather somehow ended up in a compromising position where her crotch was right in front of Shido's face.

One really had to wonder how this could happen. It's the kind of thing that would be more in place in an ecchi manga than in real life.

"Ouch. Are you hurt, Shido?"

"N-no, I'm fine."

Shido said while his cheeks blushed. Let's just say that, somehow, Ellen's lower underwear slipped a little to the side. While it didn't give Shido a full view, it did show him more than he expected to see.

That soon ended once Ellen got up though. She apologized to Shido, got dressed, and then went to pick up Karen.

The video ended.

"So, what did you girls think?"

The Spirit Team girls were simply stunned. They weren't sure what exactly they were expecting, but it wasn't this.

Seeing this, and maybe slightly misunderstanding it, Mio nodded and then continued to talk.

"Yes, this is how Shin's ability was discovered. Well, the story of how we narrowed it down to sexual excitement is best saved for another day. Or maybe you girls were surprised at Ellen's clumsy side? She's actually really clumsy, but she tries so hard in front of other people that it doesn't usually show."

Well, at least one mystery had been solved, for better or worse, and it seemed that Mio still had more things to show them. Maybe this wouldn't be the last time they all gather to watch something together.
