30 years ago, a new kind of disaster struck the world, Spacequakes. If not for Mio Takamiya and her Deus Industries, humanity might not still exist to this day. On the place the first Spacequake happened, a portal to another world opened, and so an organization was created to explore that world and find a way to end the Spacequakes. Shido, with an unique ability, joins them.

22. E1 Author's Notes

Hi everyone. I'm back, this time with a slightly different volume. Just like the actual LN, I'm calling this an Encore.

The idea for this started with me wanting to show how Shido's ability was discovered, but there really wasn't anywhere to fit it in the main story. So I figured I'd make a short Encore volume to show that, and also to develop the other characters a little more.

I'm sure a lot of you noticed a few foreshadowings for future volumes. As I'm sure you all noticed on volume 1, there are two of the LN Spirits currently missing here. I do have plans to introduce them later. I wonder how you all think I'll fit these plot points here.

Anyway, since this Encore was short I don't want to make this note too long. I'd love it if you guys told me what you thought of this. I do have a few other Encores planned throughout the story, but let me know if you all prefer that I focus on the main story.

The next update will be volume 2, meaning we'll be continuing the main story. As you are reading this, I've already written a good chunk of it. It was mentioned in this Encore, but it'll be a long mission in the Neighboring World, so look forward to it.

Also, for those at fanfiction dot net, I had some trouble with volume 1's formatting. I tried to fix it this time, but let me know if it worked (but tbh the formatting is better on AO3).
