The gang watched from the Mystery Machine to try to catch a glimpse of the ghost. A few hours had passed...
Shaggy: I guess there's no ghost after all!
Scooby nodded quickly. Just then, 3 shadowy figures were coming towards the Mystery Machine, making Shaggy and Scooby more nervous. The shadowy figures were soon revealed to be Cantaloupe and her parents...
Cantaloupe: So, what are you peasants doing out here? Playing hide and seek? (laughs)
Velma: For your information, we're out here to keep an eye out for a ghost that has been haunting the Holiday Hamlet.
Cantaloupe: (now confused) What?
Velma: This ghost has apparently been haunting the resort for about 40 years.
While Velma was talking, Cantaloupe took a good look at Daphne...
Cantaloupe: I just remembered, from earlier, (points to Shaggy) this nervous guy called you 'Daphne' right?
Daphne: Uh, yes, that's my name.
Cantaloupe stared at Daphne again, then said, 'I think I have seen you before. But I just don't remember where.'
Daphne looked surprised, and thought what the rich girl could have meant by that.
Fred: (to Cantaloupe) Anyway, why are you and your family out here?
Cantaloupe: We went to check out the ski slope. But now, that you mentioned it, I did see something else... bizarre there.
Daphne: What is it?
Cantaloupe got out a piece of paper and pen, and then wrote something down. Then she handed the paper to Fred.
Cantaloupe: I can't say anything too loud out here.
She and her parents went off. Fred read the note Cantaloupe gave him, then showed it to the rest of Mystery Inc. The gang went back to the resort...
Ned: Did you kids find out anything?
Fred: (nods) Cantaloupe gave us this note, Uncle Ned.
Ned took the piece of paper and read it. The note Cantaloupe had wrote had said that she caught a glimpse of the glimpse when she and her parents were at the ski slope.
Ned: (worried) Oh, my, he's starting to come out in broad daylight!
Daphne: But wouldn't he know other people could see him during the day if he did that?
Ned just shrugged.
Velma: Is the ghost around here right now?
Ned: Velma, the best way to find that monster is to wait until nightfall. That's when he mostly comes out.
Shaggy and Scooby were so frightened, they were breathing hard, while Velma replied, 'We can certainly wait until then. Let's go to our rooms to get settled in.' The whole group of Mystery, Inc went to their rooms, but Shaggy and Scooby were not thrilled to be staying there to find a ghost...
Shaggy: Man, even on the holidays, we can't take a break!
Scooby: Reah, Raggy! (Shaggy)
Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby waited until it was nighttime to come down to the lobby...
