The gang saw Ned standing next to a cart that was in the lobby...

Daphne: Wow, what's a cart doing here?

Ned: This is a special transportation cart. When you say the name of the room you want to go, say it into the speaker, and this cart will immediately take you there.

Velma: Jinkies! This cart can really do that?

Ned: (nods) Yes, it can. How about you come try it out?

Ned, Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby got inside the cart together.

Ned: Where do you kids want to go?

Shaggy went to the speaker that was in the cart, and said, 'The kitchen!'

The cart immediately drove itself out of the lobby, and took everyone for a ride. Soon, they arrived at the kitchen. Everyone got out of the cart, and then Ned introduced the gang to the resort's African American head chef, Chef Dave. Dave greeted Mystery Inc., then asked the kids, 'What special meal would you kids like?'

Shaggy: Is ordering one of everything on the menu a choice, Chef Dave?

Scooby: Ris rhere? (Is there?)

Dave laughed, and said, 'Well, yes you can!'

Shaggy; Okay, then I would like one of everything to drink, too!

Scooby: Reah!

Dave: Of course!

While the other chefs were cooking up the food in the kitchen, Dave was showing the gang a fancy chef outfit that was hanging on the wall...

Dave: This is a very unique chef's outfit. We all think that this outfit belonged to the original chef, which is the ghost that has been haunting the Holiday Hamlet.

Shaggy and Scooby were chattering their teeth nervously.

Velma: Yeah, I think we better look up who this chef was.

Soon, all the meals and drinks were ready, and Shaggy and Scooby ate and drank everything that was there in front of them, while Fred, Daphne, and Velma went on a computer to do some research about the original owners of the resort. They read that in 1874, tragedy struck the owners the night before Christmas. They also saw that the original chef, who looked like Krampus the Christmas ghost, was wearing a fancy chef's outfit, just the one they saw hanging on the wall...

Daphne: Jeepers, that chef's outfit is very old, yet still fancy.

Fred: Yes, very mysterious.

They stopped reading the story when they read that the guy who resembled Krampus had stolen stuff from the guests...
