Soon, Scooby caught up with the gang, and told them what he saw Krampus doing...

Fred: Why would Krampus be painting the toy dolls red?

Velma: And more importantly, why would he remove those dolls' hands and keep them for himself?

Shaggy: Man, this is one weird mystery.

Mystery Inc. then saw the ghost walking nearby. Everyone hid behind the trees, and the ghost went past them.

Fred: We need to follow Krampus, and find out what he's up to.

Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby secretly followed Krampus through the woods, and back to the snowy mountains, where they saw something that surprised them. It was a small box with a bright red light coming from the keyhole on the lock...

Velma: This box is locked. Let's check to see if the key is nearby.

Fred held the box, while everyone else looked for the key to open it. The gang looked on the gang, and even dug in the snow to find that key. While Mystery Inc, were digging together in the snow, they heard a low growl, which startled them. They looked up... to see that it was Krampus the Christmas ghost, holding the key to the box!

Shaggy: Zoinks!

Daphne: What do we do now?!

Just then, Velma remembered that she had brought a flashlight with her. Quickly, she turned it to, and shined the lights in the ghost's face, making him drop the box, and run away. Daphne then managed to pick up the box on the ground, and tossed it to Fred, who said something unexpected on the lock...

Fred: The lock is frozen! We need something to get it unfrozen!

Velma. who still had her flashlight on in case Krampus came back, turned to Shaggy and Scooby...

Velma: Guys, go get some sticks, while we keep an eye out for Krampus!

To their fear, Shaggy and Scooby went to some nearby trees, found four sticks out there, and quickly ran back to the others. Shaggy then handed the sticks to Velma, who used 2 of them to start a fire, while Daphne now had the box and flashlight, and Fred waved his arms and made monster noises to distract Krampus. Velma quickly got the fire started, and says, 'Hand me the box!' Daphne does so, and Fred says 'Hurry, we're not sure how long that ghost could be gone for!' Velma placed the box near the fire, and soon, the fire melted the ice that was on the lock. Then Fred grabbed the key

that Krampus dropped before running away. He then used it to the lock, and opened the box. Fred picked it up, and he and the rest of Mystery Inc. were amazed by what they said in there...

Scooby: Wrow! (Wow!)

Shaggy: Groovy! There's a bunch of letters in here!

Velma: (looking at the letters) Old letters. In fact, these letters are over 200 years old!

Daphne: Whoa, is there anything else in that box?!

Fred saw something else in the box, a bag with gems...

Fred: These are gems... which are black.

Daphne: What would the ghost want with black-colored gems?

At that moment, Krampus stopped running, and came to his senses. From a clear distance, he saw the gang when the box opened, and the light shined. The ghost ran back towards the gang, and roared loudly, scaring them.

Fred: He's coming towards us!

Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby saw Krampus from a distance. They all ran to separate areas to fool the ghost by confusing him, then after outsmarting him, they met back up together, and quickly ran through the forest, and back to the Holiday Hamlet, where they met up with Ned...

Ned: What happened out there?

Fred: Uncle Ned, we found some old letters that the ghost has been trying to keep us away from.

Velma: I suggest we gather everyone here, so we can all talk about this together.

Ned agreed, and he called up Chef Dave, and Cantaloupe and her parents to come to the lobby...
