Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan: Enter the Tournament Ferry

A/N: What is to be expected when a boat arrives and you're to board it?

The pier in Liberio didn't seem to attract much attention, but tonight was different; it seemed that people were gathered and waiting for something to happen. This, along with the fact that Mikasa Ackerman was present with the men and women.

"Oh, you gotta be kidding," she groaned as she approached a guy reading a paper with her face on it, claiming she was a fake in her films. "You really believe that nonsense?"

"No, I don't," he responded. "You shouldn't buy into their criticisms. And I was reading the article about a new blood bank being opened, not about you, Ms. Ackerman."

"My apologies," she uttered, and then recognized him from somewhere. "Hey, you're Jean, aren't you? The one everyone calls the Horse Whisperer?"

"Yes."

"I saw your match against Floch. You were incredible."

"Thank you. I have seen your family's films, and none of those moves can be imitated or faked."

"So, what's with the people here?"

"Did you receive an invitation to a tournament?"

"Yeah. I didn't think there'd be so many people here that were all fighters."

"Yeah, this is what a previous generation has produced in the martial arts world. Every man and woman here is the best at what they practice. Tai Chi, Ba Gua, Praying Mantis, even some street fighters are here. But where's the boat?"

"It should be here any minute now."

"…You sure he's gonna be here?" Reiner asked Sasha as they and Bertolt were hiding in a warehouse on the pier in Liberio. "Even money says that guy you shot gave you false intel just to throw us off."

"No, he's gonna be here," Sasha replied. "He's waiting for a boat to arrive."

Bertolt looked out at the water and saw something.

"What kind of boat is that?" He questioned, and they all saw it.

It looked oriental, ancient and almost like it was ready to sink, with a dragon-shaped front and at least five tall sails with several holes in them.

"Creepy," Sasha addressed to the boat.

Several sparks on another part of the pier were sent into the air as some metalsmiths were working…and some of those sparks illuminated a dark corner, revealing a man with a metal plate on his face.

"There he is!" Sasha declared and got up to get him.

"Sasha, wait a minute!" Bertolt went as he and Reiner followed her.

"That's right, Blouse," uttered Kano as he vacated his hiding spot to head towards the mysterious ship. "Come to me."

He disappeared through some smoke and was gone. Gone but not forgotten.

-x-

This ship had been through some kind of trauma and was clearly meant for the afterlife, as some of the people invited aboard had noticed that there were no way it should have been able to keep going. Not unless it was designed to look this way and had a regular hull like other ships.

"No way," Mikasa heard a voice that was familiar to her; she hadn't heard it in years, but hadn't forgotten it. "Mikasa?"

She turned to see a young man that looked as though he had this temperament that could've gotten the better of him sometimes, but also looked as though he was keeping out of trouble.

"Eren," she uttered. "What are you doing here? Did you receive an invitation, too?"

"What invitation? I'm trying to find someone that killed my father and brother."

Before Mikasa could say the next thing, someone shoved Eren out of the way.

"Hey, lady, what's your deal?" She asked, seeing the woman was tense and upset about something, and was armed with a bow and pistol. "Whoa!"

"Stay out of my way," she told her, and walked away.

Eren came over and asked Mikasa, "What was that about?"

"No idea," she tells him, watching the woman disappear behind a corner of the ship's darker areas. "Let's go see."

-x-

Sasha wandered into a dark interior of the ship, probably the most unkept part of the whole place, damp, moldy and with chains hanging the walls.

"Excuse me," she heard a man's voice and brandished her arrow at a man in a coat, standing in the shadows. "Sasha Blouse, the Passionate Carnivore Archer herself. We haven't had the pleasure of meeting face-to-face. Shang Tsung, at your service."

Sasha lowered her bow and responded, "I'm looking for a murderer with a plate of metal on his face. He boarded this ship."

"Fascinating. However, this is my boat and if you would like a tour, I'd be honored to give it to you myself."

Suddenly, two people came up from behind Sasha; it was the same people from the deck that she went past looking for Kano.

"Eren Yeager, the Temperamental Rogue and Mikasa Ackerman, the Martial Artress," Shang Tsung recognized. "Welcome aboard."

"We may not know exactly what's going on, but we think we know enough that this lady with the bow is just a professional doing her job," said Mikasa to the man.

"When I desire backup," Sasha expressed, "I'll radio for it, thank you very much."

Shang Tsung turned towards a door to his left…and a hand reached out to open it from the other end, revealing, within the smoke that emerged from behind it…a masked man in dark blue robes. Behind him was another masked man, dressed in bright yellow robes. They both looked like they were ninjas of some sort.

"Do you have your radio handy, ma'am?" Eren asked Sasha, eyeing the man in yellow while she eyed the man in blue.

"Scorpion and Sub-Zero," Shang Tsung introduced the two men to them. "Deadliest of enemies…but slaves under my power."

The three got the impression that when he said that, these two were probably at each other's throats for a long time before this man took control over them, but it didn't hinder whatever it was they were capable of when it came to fighting.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero assumed fighting poses, with Scorpion putting his left arm over his right arm while Sub-Zero brought up his right arm with his left arm closer to his chest.

"Move aside, tough guy," Sasha threatened Sub-Zero, raising her gun at his head.

Sub-Zero wasn't intimidated in the slightest, putting his hand onto the gun…and forming ice over it, snapping it in two when he pulled it away!

"Whoa!" Eren gasped, and then saw something emerging from Scorpion's right hand.

Some sort of…serpent, right through the skin of his palm, looking like a serrated dagger.

"Rrrraaaurgh!" It screeched as it looked at him.

CLASH! A body of electrical energy came from entrance the three came from and unleashed two streams of additional energy, similar in color to Scorpion and Sub-Zero, pushing Sub-Zero against a wall and sending Scorpion flying across the place into a stack of old crates.

"That's enough!" The body of electrical energy declared as it assumed the form of a white-haired man in white robes; Eren recognized him as the man from earlier when he met Marcel to learn more about his father and half-brother's deaths.

"Well, Lord Rayden," Shang Tsung uttered in response to his presence. "How nice it is of you to grace us all with your…presence."

The man in white, Rayden, had a look of disgust on his face.

"You enslaved pawns attacked my fighters," he expressed, his voice laced with contempt. "That is expressively forbidden before the tournament even begins…as your emperor so knows."

"My sincerest apologies. It won't happen again, I promise."

"We'll see."

"Yes. Until we've reached the island…where you have no dominion."

"My dominions are well known to me, sorcerer! Thank you."

"Uh, excuse me?" Sasha uttered. "What are y'all talking about here?"

"Is this the tournament we've been invited to?" Mikasa asked them.

"You'll find out in due time," Shang Tsung stated cryptically, and then walked away into the shadows, disappearing from sight.

Eren looked at the man in white and questioned, "Rayden?"

"See you up top," Rayden responded, and then turned into electricity and went back through the entrance, leaving the three to follow.

"What's going on here?" Sasha asked Eren and Mikasa.

A/N: Trying to update other stories after reading three different AoT stories by the same writer, Filisgirl251, who is very committed to keeping them interested. It's a challenge, but who else would rather escape into fantasies than deal with reality? The next chapter will have an explanation to what is going on. Until next time.
