Chapter 594 Majority Owner

"

Jax walked into the clubhouse fifteen minutes before church was scheduled to begin. Clay walked over to him.

"I need a word," Clay said. He led him to the chapel.

"What's the crisis?"

"I don't like the way you left."

"Did something happen with the MC?" Jax knew the answer to that question. If something had happened, he would have been contacted. Clay was just being a douche. It was a role that required little effort on his part. It came naturally.

"This isn't about the MC. I don't like the way you just abandoned TM. Tara's isn't your old lady."

Jax shook his head. Clay was getting on his nerves a lot lately beginning with his introducing that Mickey Smith guy. There was something about that guy he didn't trust. He wondered if Tig had a chance to vet him yet.

"Really? Tara isn't my old lady. Scarlett will be happy to hear that."

"That isn't what I meant," Clay said snapped furiously. "You need to get your work priorities straight."

"My work priorities are straight. It was fairly slow and you can get some of the other guys to cover for me. It isn't a hard problem to solve."

"There was no reason for you to leave for almost three work days. She's an ex."

"I stayed as long as I needed to and I made you aware of when I was returning so you weren't blindsided. I didn't go to the hospital for Tara. I went for Scarlett. She was in charge of Tara's medical care until she was able to do it for herself," Jax kept his tone of voice even, but inside his anger was building.

"Scarlett's an adult," Clay snapped. "She didn't need you to hold her hand."

"She's my old lady. Don't tell me what she needs. As far as TM is considered, let's think of the name TM. It's Teller-Morrow. In that order. Why is that? Could it be because I own 55% of the business?"

"And your point is?" Clay ground out the words.

"I'm not your employee. If anything, it's the other way around. If I decide I need to be there for my old lady, that's what I'm going to do. Now, I'm going to go take a piss before church if that's OK with you."

Jax turned on his heel and left Clay staring after him. This was the first time he'd pointed out that he was the majority owner of the business and it felt damn good.
