Author's Note: Hey you guys! I'm back with another one shot! Quincy's salon will start to be getting noticed by more students of Auradon Prep and it's because of my new OC that I've created once more! She's sort of a regular customer and changed her life for the better, even with some chaos that'll be in play as the story progresses. Enjoy the read!
Dancing off the Roof
Quincy's and Chad's room
It was a nice sunny Saturday in Auradon Prep which means the students either goes home until Monday, chill in their dorm rooms, doing homework, hanging out with friends, etc. or styling someone's hair like our own Quincy of Hearts is! His latest client is currently having her hair trimmed before Quincy curls her hair in waves. And after putting in the finishing touches, Quincy was now done and his client now has beautiful shiny dark brown with wavy curls that's split from the middle and the ends down to above her stomach.
"What do you think?" Quincy said as he gives her a hand mirror.
She gasped at her reflection from the hand mirror and the big mirror Quincy had hanging on their wall.
"Wow, look at this!" She said as she was moving the hand mirror from side to side while looking at the mirror behind her with it.
"I knew you'd like it." Quincy said smiling.
She was too as she got up from her chair and touches her hair and felt how soft it is.
"Thank you so much for this, Quincy! I love what you did to my hair! Girls' Night is gonna be a blast with this hairstyle!"
"Of course, it's my pleasure! I hope you have fun tonight."
"I'll be sure to tag you when I post some pics!"
"Thank you for that, Emeri. I really appreciate that."
"It's the least I can do for making me the fiercest of them all!" Emerie said.
Emeri is the daughter of Esmeralda and Phoebus. She's a sophomore, cheerleader, and was in desperate need to have her hair done ever since the first time she had her's done by Quincy, he was her go-to hairstylist. They build somewhat of a bond between them and they would gossip about the latest drama in school, or reality tv shows, something to past the time whenever he's giving her a deep conditioning and/or even a detox. This is the fourth time Emerie has come to Quincy and if he was being honest, she is one of his favorite clients. And because of that, he tested one of the new products he used on Evie a while back on April Fools Day. That's what's giving her that same shine and softness Evie had.
"Oooh, I can't wait to show the girls! It's gonna be fun tonight!" Emeri said.
After paying Quincy, she makes her way to the door to leave when suddenly Chad opens it from the other side leaning on the doorway and flashes his side grin.
"Emeri, sup?" Chad said. "I didn't know you'd be here today."
"Really?" Emeri raised her her left eyebrow at him. "I could've sworn I saw you just before I came in here."
"Couldn't be me, I was.." Chad flexed his right muscle. "Hitting the gym."
Quincy hit his face with his palm in annoyance and silently groan.
"So since I'm here, what you doing tonight? Wanna catch a movie?" Chad grins hoping for a yes.
"Get real, Chad. I'm going with girls tonight, so no boys allowed. Plus, I haven't forgotten that terrible breath you breathe on me." Emeri walks off with disgust but turns to Quincy.
"How do you survive living with him?"
"I was raised on The Isle and compared to him, he was nothing." Quincy said.
"Almost forgot. But still, you're brave." Emeri said before she finally left.
Chad turns to Quincy and goes, "She's never going to let that go, will she?"
"Oh, don't worry." Quincy said. "That's only one of the reasons why she won't go out with you, hehehe."
"Laugh it up, but one day, I'll wear her down." Chad grins with confidence.
"Sure." Quincy sarcastically said.
"I just don't get why I have to stay out of our room why your doing your hair appointments."
"Because I know you. You'll just keep hitting on every girl I bring in."
"What?" Chad scoffs. "That's ridiculous. I would've assisted you, I mean come on, you obviously need an assistant."
"You don't even know how to schedule appointments." Quincy said.
"I tried to once."
"You only asked for her number and then texted her that you're free to pick her up for dinner."
"It's part of the process." Chad assures. "I wine and dine her and then smooth talk about getting her hair done by you."
"And how did that worked out?" Quincy asked.
"I…forgot to tell her about that last part." Chad sulked.
"See? I can't trust you with this. This is why I just need to do everything myself."
"Point taken, if I'm in the room, the ladies can't resist me. Charming is my last name after all." Chad smiles with his teeth showing.
"How can I forget?" Quincy rolled his eyes.
Downtown Auradon, 8:00 pm.
Saturday night, one of the most popular nights in Auradon. No school, you're out of work for the night and overall, there's usually something fun happening. Birthday parties, balls, even seeing a movie with your friends and family. But tonight for a certain young cheerleader, it was a mixture of everything. Emeri is out and about with the goal is to have some fun. And she's not the only one as 3 other girls are along for the ride, well technically, Emeri is a passenger as she is currently riding inside of a limo, which belongs to Audrey.
Audrey invited Emeri, Jordan and Lonnie out with her to party she's been invited to. It's at the rooftop of a building being hosted by Ariana Rose, Audrey's cousin. She and Audrey don't exactly see eye to eye, mostly cause Ariana would be at times jealous of Audrey and how her parents and granny would praise her for dating Ben at the time since he was gonna be king, which meant that eventually, Audrey would've been her queen before Mal showed up. Even now, Audrey's family still has hopes for that future but Ariana would always try to one up her, something Audrey doesn't care for and is annoyed by. Although those two go to the same school, they still don't get along.
When Ariana invited Audrey to her party, Audrey knew she only did it to show her up. She needed backup, which is why Audrey decided to invite her friends because deep down, she didn't want to be alone but she wasn't showing it. Though Jordan and Lonnie know how Audrey feels when it comes to Ariana, they went for support.
"I wonder what's gonna be at this party. Hopefully some content for my web show." Jordan said rocking her golden party dress.
"Must you always expect some crazy to happen, Jordan?" Lonnie said in her fuchsia dress.
"Of course, it's a party. Someone's bound to act up." Jordan said.
"Well, why not make my hair part of your content? I just had it done." Emeri said.
"Please tell me Quincy did that for you." Jordan asked.
"Of course! He's a miracle worker! I've never had my hair this soft in ages." Emeri was combing her finger through her hair feeling the softness once more. "I can't stop touching it."
"It's probably those new products he said he's gotten." Lonnie said. "I heard they haven't even sell those yet, but there's coming out soon."
"Yeah, almost half the girls at school wanted him to try it on them, but he's only got limited stock, so he can't do everyone he's got on his chair." Jordan said but then adds, "So far, only Evie and you are the only ones to try it. Guess you're something special."
"Jordan, don't act like you don't have an appointment with him to try them out." Lonnie arched her eyebrow.
"I know, but I wanted that treatment now!" Jordan whined.
"Ok, we get it! Quincy's a hair doctor that everyone wants!" Audrey said with annoyance in her voice. "We've got more important things to look forward to."
"But I thought you can't stand Ariana." Emeri said.
"Who me? Never. I just simply have my opinions on how my cousins always tries to get the better of me every single time." Audrey said in a sweet voice.
"Audrey, we get it. But you should know that you're still a great princess, not matter what." Lonnie said.
"I know I am. Even without a date, I'll still be able to shine on my own." Audrey wore a confidence in her smile with her eyes close.
"How come it's just us though?" Jordan said pointing out that Audrey only brought the three of them.
"Yeah and not that I don't appreciate the invite, but I've hardly hangout with you without the cheer-squad." Emeri said.
"Ally and Jane are off bowling, and well….I just never intended to invite the VKs." Audrey said.
"Really? How come?" Lonnie asked.
"She still feels a certain way, especially when it comes to Mal." Audrey said.
"Seriously? She's still on that?" Jordan said. "They saved us on multiple occasions, not to mention Spring Break."
"I know that, but she doesn't see it that way. Believe me, I wanted to invite them, but I just didn't want it to make things worse." Audrey said. "So I try to make the best of it and Emeri had no plans, so I figured the more, the merrier?"
"It's fine, Audrey, I hardly ever go to parties, so I'm grateful." Emeri said.
"Yeah, don't worry about it, we'll make the best of this." Lonnie said.
"Speaking of VKs, I need to take some pics and tag Quincy. I told him I would and he's expecting me." Emeri said as she takes out her phone and puts it on selfie mode.
She takes pictures of herself with a peace sign, duckface and a shock face. She even does a group shot with her friends.
Rooftop of Corona Towers
Audrey and the girls walked out of the elevator and then through the double doors only to see the what was actually more than decent. The party was bright and loud with all the baby pink and baby blue decorations such as streamers, tablecloths, banners and balloons. There was about 20-30 party guests that comes from Auradon Prep. There was even stereos at four corners, a food table, couches, tables and chairs, and lights that shines pink and blue from the lights that are hung on some poles.
"Wow! This looks extravagant!" Emeri said.
"It's wonderful!" Lonnie said.
"I gotta say, it looks like a dream. There's even a giant glowing teddy bear." Jordan said.
"It's fine." Audrey pouted.
The girls looked around and see their schoolmates talking, eating and dancing to the music. Eventually, they found a couch to sit at and takes in the view.
"Wow. That salad bar sure looks good. I haven't had me a decent salad in a long time." Lonnie said.
"The salad bar? Check out that dance floor. It's almost reminds me of that dance game I use to play at the arcade." Emeri said.
"Ariana sure did went out for this party. What the occasion anyways?" Jordan said.
"I don't even know. Maybe she got bored? Couldn't come up with better ways to be the shining star?" Audrey said. "She always bit more than she could chew." Then that's when Audrey sees a familiar face walking to them. "Speaking of which…"
It was Ariana in question coming over to Audrey and them.
"Audrey, my cuz!" Ariana said,
She and Audrey greeted each other with air kisses on each side of their heads.
"So glad you can make it!" Ariana said with a huge smile. "It would've been boring without you here."
"Ariana, so glad to see you as usual." Audrey said.
"I see you've brought your friends, at least some them. I figured you've brought your little VK friends with you." Ariana said knowing full well that she was hoping she wouldn't invite them.
"They just couldn't make it. They have their own plans tonight." Audrey said with a fake smile make Ariana's fake one.
"Oh I see. So unfortunately. Especially that Mal girl. I would've really liked to get to know her. Like how she landed a stud like King Ben."
"It's a mystery with that one."
"And speaking of VKs, I heard that new one, Quincy is it, that he's opened up a salon?"
That was when Emeri comes up to the two to show off her hair. "Yep, that's right. He even did mine this morning!" She shakes her head and shows off that glowing shine that's really reflecting the lights above her.
The shine is causing everyone to turn onto her and they noticed how good it looks. The party guest come closer to her and gaze at the dark glowing mane that's flowing in the breeze that just blew.
"OMG, that hair looks gorgeous!" A blonde girl said.
"Thank you." Emeri said being flattered.
"It's beyond amazing. You have to give me your hairdresser's info!" A brunette girl said.
"Actually, it's Quincy's doing." Emeri answered.
"The Queen of Hearts' son?"
"Mmmhmm, he's amazing!"
"I'm so booking an appointment."
"Not before I do!" The blonde girl said.
"You can take it up with him, he's on InstaRoyal accepting dms." Emeri said.
"Good deal!" The two girls said.
Then the next song comes up and the party goers goes off to the dance floor with one guy staring at Emeri as he goes up to her.
"Um, hi there. Can I help you?" Emeri asked the boy.
"So I was wondering, did you wanna dance?" The boy asked nervously.
He was tall, dark-skinned with light brown curly hair and a great smile. Thinking he was cute and seems nice, Emeri takes him on his offer. "Sure, lead the way." She gives him her hand and he take it as they both go join everyone else.
Well, everyone expect Audrey, Lonnie and Jordan who watched as they were smiling at their friend having a dance partner. Ariana on the other hand, was still trying to process on what just happened as everyone seemed to be interested in Emeri. Audrey notices and smirks to herself as she hardly ever sees defeat on her cousin's face.
"Emeri sure knows how to draw a crowd, even at your own party." Audrey adds on, knowing how to tick Ariana off.
Knowing what she's up to, Ariana simply says, "Honestly, it's fine. I can see why everyone would love her at my very own party." Ariana puts on her fakest smile even though on the inside, she's jealous to the core and Audrey knows that.
"I'm sure if you'll still get the same attention even without a new hair makeover from Quincy." Audrey was trying to hide her smirk, but Lonnie and Jordan knew better.
Jordan was going live from her phone and gets everything on livestream. Emeri was showing off some of her best dance moves like she was at cheer practice, even mixed in her own personal moves like spinning her hips and moving her arms in a certain way with the boy dancing beside her and being amazed on how good of a dancer she is. As everyone was dancing, the shine from Emeri's hair was glowing a teal color and it seems to be glowing over the other kids. And suddenly, they acted like a little kooky at their dance moves. Like one boy bumps his hip on the right more and keeps moving in that direction, then a red headed girl was spinning a little rapidly and another boy was jumping up and down like he was playing jump rope. Pretty soon, everyone was dancing weird and Emeri starts to notice. Even Audrey, her friends and her cousin with Jordan still live streaming.
"I heard of party animals, but this is wild." Jordan said.
"This isn't even a good song to get crazy over." Audrey said.
"It does look bizarre." Lonnie said. "Is it always like this, Ariana?"
"I don't ever remember people at my parties acting this way." Ariana replied. "What's going on here?!"
Meanwhile at Auradon Prep
Quincy and Chad were watching a scary movie where a girl was being chased by a guy in a bag-looking mask with holes for eyes. Quincy was eating some popcorn while Chad was on his phone looking at something. Eventually, Quincy got annoyed by Chad and decides to intervene.
"Aren't you the one that picked this movie?" Quincy asked him.
"Yeah?" Chad said.
"Then why am I the only one watching it?" Quincy said while throwing a piece of popcorn in his mouth.
"Something came up."
"Like what?"
"People acting nuts."
"Besides you?"
"Haha, very funny. No, this is happening right now. At some party."
"What?"
"Yeah, on InstaRoyal! Jordan's streaming it."
"She is? Lemme see."
Quincy looks over at Chad's phone and sees what he's talking about. Everyone was dancing crazy and weird and he also he's a familiar voice.
"Emeri?"
"She's there?" Chad quickly looks and is entranced by her beauty. "Whoa, she looks amazing in that dress."
"Oh, that must be the party she told me she was going to." Quincy said.
"Too bad I'm not there, I could've showed off those losers and make them even worse dancers than they are."
"I don't think that's possible. They're already the worst and possibly deranged dancers ever. But still, why they all acting like this? Is this a theme or something."
"Hades if I know." Chad said.
"I'm calling Lonnie." Quincy picks up his phone and makes a phone call.
Rooftop of Corona Towers
Lonnie hears her phone ring and sees Quincy's picture on her screen, indicating he's calling her. She quickly answers. "Hello?"
"Lonnie, I'm looking at Jordan's live on Chad's phone. What's going on?" Quincy said.
"I honestly have no idea. As soon as everyone is dancing, the next thing I know, they all dancing like their underwear's too tight." Lonnie said.
"But the good news is they were really liking how you did Emeri's hair." Jordan said as Lonnie had Quincy on speaker.
"Really?" Quincy said.
"Yeah, I think she might've help you get some business."
"Well, at least something came out of this."
Ariana was looking as the girls were talking with Quincy. She was filled with jealously as they kept on talking about Emeri and then thoughts what if she gets her hair done by him and then they'll be talking about her instead of anyone else. But she remembers he's VK and would not wanna be associated with anyone from the Isle of the Lost. So she keeps pretending not to listen in on their conversation.
"Who's that guy she's dancing with?" Quincy asked.
"Just some guy from school, I've seen him around, but know next to nothing." Audrey said.
"Well, I'm happy for her regardless."
"I hope this dance, if you can even call it that, doesn't continue on cause it's looking a little dire." Lonnie said.
One dancer was drinking a glass of punch, but gets himself wet. Another one dances on top of a table with hand in the air. And another spins around one of the poles while hanging on with one hand. Even Emeri's dance partner was acting strange and was doing cartwheels. But he was doing it, he is heading straight to the edge of the rooftop.
"Oh no! Wait, stop!" Emeri said.
Audrey and the 3 girls gasped in shock as the poor boy was cartwheeling himself into danger.
Quincy's and Chad's room
Quincy and Chad watches the same thing in horror.
"Stop!" They both said.
Rooftop of Corona Towers
As the boy keeps moving, suddenly another boy comes out of nowhere and tackles him from the right and lands on top of him. Emeri runs up to the two boys with Audrey, Jordan, Lonnie and Ariana in pursuit also. Eventually, everyone stops dancing and runs to where the almost accident happened at.
"Oh my Zeus, you saved him!" Emeri said.
"Is he ok?!" Lonnie asked.
"I think so. He seems to be out of it though." The boy who saved him said.
He then stood and faces everyone, who immediately recognizes him.
"Herkie?!" Jordan said.
Everyone claps and cheers for him while Emeri checks up on the boy.
Quincy's and Chad's room
"Whew!" They both said.
"Thank Goodness!" Quincy said.
"You said it!" Chad said.
"He would've gone splat if it wasn't for Herkie!"
"That was insane!"
"What made him act like that anyways?!"
"I think the bigger question is what's going on at that party? And why wasn't I invited?"
Quincy rolled his eyes at Chad's last question.
Rooftop at Corona Towers
"Thank you. It's no big deal, I'm just glad I made it in time at the last minute." Herkie said.
"We're glad you came at all!" Lonnie said. "If you haven't, then Emeri would've gone to the hospital to visit that boy."
"Wow." Ariana said. "You were like such a hero just now." She walks up to Herkie, who was flattered at the comment.
"Um, thanks. I was glad to help him." Herkie said.
"And you were so helpful, yes you were." Ariana then touches his bicep through his sleeve. "You've been working out?"
"Oh no. Here she goes again." Audrey said under her breath.
"Yes and Ally likes how I keep up with myself." Herkie said.
"Why would would Ally care about that?" Ariana asked.
"Well, she is my girlfriend." Herkie pointed.
"Girlfriend? Since when?"
"Last month."
"Well, this is news to me. Well, congratulations on that. But that's a for sure thing, right? She's definitely your girlfriend?"
"Yes, Ariana, I can tell you she's absolutely his girlfriend." Jordan said a bit sternly.
"Alright, no need to bite my head off, I was just asking, hahaha. But if something happens like it doesn't work out with you two, I'm available to talk." Ariana winks before she walks off to join everyone who took a break from dancing.
"I'm starting to think she might've invited you knowing Ally was gonna be busy tonight." Jordan said.
"That would explain about the way she invited me." Herkie said.
"Whoa, what way?" Lonnie asked.
"She had this look in her eyes like I'm a batch of waffles."
"Yeah, she wanted you bad."
Next thing they know, they heard groan from below them. It was the boy who Herkie saved and Emeri is comforting. He wakes up and it was as if he was in a daze.
"What happened?" He asked.
"You don't remember?" Emeri asked.
"Well, last thing I remembered, I was dancing with you and then next thing I knew, I woke up."
"Weird." Lonnie said.
The ones standing all looked at each other with confusion and curiosity. But Emeri walks him over to one of the couches to sit him down properly.
"This isn't how I thought tonight would go, but I'm glad to meet you, even though my memory's not that good."
"Even though it was crazy, it was better than I would've hoped."
"I'm Brian by the way."
"Emeri."
"So what happened again?"
"I'll tell you as soon as I get you some ice cause I'm pretty sure you hit your head when Herkie saved you."
"Yeah, my head's definitely throbbing."
As Emeri went to get some ice, her friends watch as they see how adorable they're being.
"That's so sweet!" Lonnie said.
"I'll admit that was cute." Audrey said.
"This is definitely her night." Jordan putting her phone away.
"But still, why is everyone acting like nothing happened?" Herkie asked. "I know I only just arrived, but they were acting crazy like a second ago."
"This is a new one on me." Jordan said.
They all looked on as the party was still continuing.
The Next Day
Everyone was still talking about the livestream and congratulating Herkie for being the hero he was as he was walking down the hallway.
"Thank you everyone! Really I mean it." He said.
In another hallway, Emeri came up to Quincy to thank him once again.
"Quincy, I wanted to thank you again for yesterday! Thanks to my new hair, I've got me a date next weekend!"
"I'm so happy to hear my work did all that for you." Quincy said.
"You're like a miracle worker, I don't where I would be without you."
"I'm just glad Brian is still able to go on a date after what happened. Is he ok? Are you ok?"
"Yeah, despite everything, it all worked out. I still don't know what happened. Brian and everyone else was acting weird around me.
"But not Audrey and them?"
"No, at least when I was noticing everything after a short while."
"Strange. I wonder what came over them."
"Me too, but I have to get going. I have to pick out what to wear so I can be ready for date night. Eee!" Emeri then walks off in the other direction with glee.
Quincy walks in another direction as well as he plans on meeting Chad, Herkie, Aziz, Carlos and Jay for gaming in he and Chad's dorm room, still trying to piece together about the craziness that went on at Ariana's party.
"Hopefully that's the end of it." He says to himself.
