Author's Note: Hey Descenders! I'm back once more with a new chapter of this One-Shot and I'm dedicating this one to one of my favorite Wicked World characters in the Franchise and that would be Freddie Facilier! She's always been a favorite of my and I believe that she deserves more to her character, which was why I took so long to make this chapter and the reason why I said chapter is because of the news I have to say at the end of this. You're going to love this one, I can tell. Also, they'll be some more mentions from the School of Secrets books as it will tie more into Freddie's character and I believe she'll be making even more of a name for herself from this point on. Also mentions to D3 near the end of this chapter with a certain character. So sit back, have some popcorn and enjoy a good reading cause this is big!
Wicked Talent of the Year!
Auradon Prep, Friday 7:00
The students are happy the weekend is here once more and as everyone is off doing their plans for Friday night, a certain two pigtails girl with her tiny top hat was sitting at the side of the school belting her heart out. She was preparing for the End of the Year Talent Show to end the school year with a bang and Freddie signed up for it as soon as she saw the sign up sheets. She couldn't wait to do another solo in front of the audience like she did at the Neon Lights Ball. Sure it happened under nefarious means caused by CJ, but that doesn't diminish her talent for singing. Even when she joined the Acapella group, she flourished every time she sings, which gave her the confidence to do her first solo fair and square.
She knows she can do it, she believes in herself. Which is why she is currently doing a little practice before tomorrow. It was dark, but the sky was clear and a huge star was giving a bright light on this evening, which is perfect for a song that's come to her mind.
"The Evening Star is shining bright, so make a wish and hold on tight. There's magic in the air tonight, and anything can happen!" She sang.
Suddenly, she hears a noise from her right side, which alarmed her quick. She gets into a fight stance.
"Alright! I heard you already! Come on out!"
Just then, a shadow appeared and a body comes out from the corner she's looking and person who showed themselves came as a shock to Freddie.
"You?" Freddie exclaimed.
It was Trevor, the one and only son of King Naveen and Queen Tiana. Last she saw him was at Marvel Con where a lot of things went down that Spring Break.
"I have a name you know. And I'm sure you remembered." Trevor smiled.
Freddie blushed a pink tint on her cheeks, but then brushed that off and replies, "I suppose I do. I mean, who can forget that dopey grin you wearing?" She smirked.
"I knew you wouldn't forget, like I never forgot about you, Freddie." Trevor said.
"Do you usually spy on innocent girls like a creep?"
"Not usually, but then I just heard something beautiful from the side of the school and I had to investigate."
"So I'm a mystery now?"
"Big time. I never knew you can sing. I wonder what else you got under your belt."
"There's a lot you don't know about me." Freddie smirked.
"Try me." Trevor sat down on the bench Freddie was sitting on and patted on the seat next to him.
Freddie rolled her eyes with a chuckle before sitting down. "Well, I'm from the Isle of the Lost."
"I figured, but what else you got."
"I used to help out at my dad's shop, used my card tricks to con people out of anything that I saw and want. I got a little sister."
"You have a sister?"
"Her name's Celia."
"Are you close with her?"
"Somewhat. She's not bad, but she's basically a daddy's girl."
"And you're not?"
"Never in my life has he treated me the way he treated her. I guess you could say I'm a lil jealous. I've been in his shadow for all of my life, that I'm the last thing that he would remember."
"Sorry to hear that."
"It's fine. It all worked out. I'm here in Auradon and now barely anyone ever calls me Dr. Facilier's daughter. I'm Freddie, the talented singer."
"That you are."
"In fact, I'm gonna remind everyone why that's a fact at the show tomorrow."
"Oh right, the Annual End of the Year Talent Show."
"That's the one. I forgot you used to go to school here, of course you would know."
"Yeah, I still remember some things here. I even entered once, but never again."
"Why's that?" Freddie said as her interests peaks.
"It's too embarrassing."
"Well now I have to know." Freddie said grinning.
"Ok, well…I was trying to do a magic act, but it all went wrong. The rabbit came out of Aziz's backpack, I twirled a ribbon around myself and fell over and when I tried to saw Herkie in half, Chad ruined it when he was calling someone while being the bottom half."
Freddie had to laugh as she was imagining the scenario.
"Ah, I knew you'd laugh."
"How could I not? Hahahaha." Freddie laughed while holding her stomach.
"Ok, ok. You had your fun." Trevor pleaded.
Freddie finally stopped laughing so now Trevor can talk to her. He looks at the star in the sky and is reminded of what his mother told him.
"My mom would tell me sometimes that her friend, Ray, became a star." Trevor said.
"That so?"
"Yeah, he started off as firefly, saying he wanted to be a star to be with the star he's in love with. I think it was Evangeline. I even heard that she used to be a firefly too."
"I did hear something about fireflies becoming stars when they die. So maybe right now, we're looking at dead fireflies lighting up the night sky."
"That's a way to look at it."
"I think my dad killed Ray. I'm sorry."
"Don't be. You weren't the one to do it. It worked out the way Ray wanted it to be. He got to be with Evangeline. That's all he ever wanted. To be with someone who makes him feel whole."
Trevor was gazing into Freddie's eyes when he was saying that. Freddie couldn't help but stare the same gaze at Trevor. She cleared her throat as she felt the tension was getting thick.
"Yeah, what more could he wanted?" Freddie then thought of asking Trevor something that she secretly hope he said yes to. "So did you come here because of the talent show? If that's the case, you're more than welcome to watch if you want." She blushed after she asked him.
"Well, that wasn't the reason why I came, but if you're in the show, I'll stop by for sure."
"Really?"
"Yeah, you got some pipes. Never heard anything like that."
"Wait til you hear this." Freddie cleared her throat and begins singing again.
"In the South Land, there's a city. Way down on the river. Where the women are very pretty. And all the men deliver. They got music, it's always playing. Start in the daytime, go all through the night. And when you hear that music playing. Hear what I'm saying and make it feel alright."
Trevor was captivated by Freddie's voice as she sounds like an angel to him. If she hadn't noticed, Trevor was blushing hard.
"Grab somebody, come on down. Bring your paintbrush, we're painting the town. There's some sweetness going around. Dreams do come true in New Orleans!"
Trevor was stunned. Even though Freddie's singing ended, he was still speechless and hardly moving. Even Freddie was getting a little flustered as his staring. That was when she started to speak.
"Um, anybody home?" Freddie said.
She touched his shoulder and it was like he's awake.
"Wow." He said breathlessly. "I'm definitely going to show up."
"Do what you want. I don't care." Freddie said looking away.
"Sure you don't." Trevor said smirking.
Freddie tried her best to hide her smile, but was failing miserably and Trevor already knows it."
"So why are you here if it wasn't for the talent show at first?" Freddie had to ask.
"I'll tell you after you blow everyone socks off with your voice. I want it to be a surprise." Trevor said.
"Why's it gotta be a surprise?"
"You'll see." Trevor winked. "I have to go though. Herkie and Aziz are letting me stay for the weekend."
"Don't wanna keep you waiting then." Freddie said.
"Believe me, it was worth it." Trevor said smiling before getting up and walking away.
He looked at her one more time into her eyes before he disappeared around the corner of the school. Freddie sighed as he left, now looking at her hand that is resting on the spot Trevor was seated at. A now once confident young woman is now full of flutter and feelings that resurfaced much more than when he last saw Trevor. But that wasn't going to stop her from competing in the talent show as she looks at the sky and raised her hand towards the star before closing her fist.
"I'm almost there!" Freddie thought.
Auradon Prep, Quincy's and Chad's Room, 8 am
Quincy's next client happens to be one of his favorites and that would be Freddie. She scheduled an appointment after signing up for the talent and made sure it on the morning of that day since she wants her new hairstyle to be fresh and ready to go. At first she wanted her ponytails to be up high, but after last night, she decided she wants a change. She wanted a layered cut with her ends sticking outwards in the back and for her hair to be loose, no pigtails whatsoever.
"I'm surprised at your request, Freddie. You were so set on the last hairstyle." Quincy said.
"I just decided I need to be more bold." Freddie explained as she was getting her hair combed out.
"I hear that. Nothing wrong with going with a new look. You're gonna look magnificent when you sing those pipes of yours. Everyone's really gonna notice you." Quincy said.
"I hope so!" Freddie thought.
"So, I was having a chat with Herkie earlier and he told me something interesting." Quincy said with a smirk slowly creeping on his face.
"I know, Ariana won't stop trying to steal him away from Ally. That girl does not know when to give up."
"Tell me about it! You should've seen what she did when she visited R.O.A.R. practice after school." Quincy said but then realized he was getting sidetracked. "But no, that's not what I meant."
"What are you on about, your majesty?" Freddie said with her eyelids lower with a raised eyebrow.
"First off, don't call me that, you know how I feel about it. Second, Come on, I know Trevor's spending the weekend here." Quincy smirked at the last sentence.
Freddie was now wide-eyed and blushing scarlet red. "Really? He's here? That's news to me." She looks the other way.
"I thought it was weird that you made a last minute decision about your hair, but since 2 hours ago, it all makes sense." Quincy said as he got his shears ready for the cutting.
"I just wanted to show myself off while I give a good performance, it has nothing to do with some boy I met a couple months ago at a freaking superhero convention." Freddie tries as she may, but she just kept on blushing harder.
"He was more than a boy and you know it. Don't act like I don't see you messaging him on InstaRoyal."
"That was private!"
"Not the smile on your face." Quincy said then laughed.
"Can we get on with this? I still need to get my dress ready from Evie." Freddie said.
"Right, no more teasing. I understand."
As Quincy was pulling hair upwards, cutting off the ends that needed to be trimmed, he uses his blow dryer to get rid of any clippings of hair that still remained and uses a hair spray from the new products he's gotten to hold the style. And that was the end of the haircut. Quincy got his hand mirror out to give to Freddie as usual with his clients. She looks at it and to be honest, she doesn't even recognize herself.
She hair was beyond some wonderful. It starts with her bangs being accompanied by some strands of hair on each side reaching down to her chest, curled outward in front of her. Then the back was the most different with the ends of her hair in about at least 4 layers curls outwards. Also another thing, it was giving off this shine. The same shine that's popular with some of Quincy's clients that got to experience the new hair products like Jordan, Lonnie, Aziz and now his latest, Freddie, who won't stop obsessing over her new look.
"Q! I don't know how you did it, but you've done it!" Freddie was staring at herself so hard it was like her eyes were twinkling.
"I'll say! I think I outdid myself. I hardly ever get to do layered cuts. And it's gonna look great when you have it in your pigtails again. I think they even enhanced your gray highlights beautifully." Quincy said.
"Hmm, actually, I think I should wear my hair out more often." Freddie said as she flips her hair with her hand. "It's even soft like everyone's saying!"
"That's the beauty of these products. The reviews I've been getting have been so good, I was reporting back to the company that gave me these."
"How's that going?"
"They said if this keeps up until the school year's over, they can officially start selling them this summer! And they want me as ambassador for them."
That got Freddie to do a 180 degree turn away from the mirror. "Shut up! Are you serious?! Don't kid me with that."
"I kid you not, Voodoo Priestess! I'm gonna be famous like I've always wanted all over Auradon!"
"Boy, I know that's right!"
Freddie gives Quincy a high-five and they did a little dancing.
"I can't believe I'll be friends with a famous hairdresser!" Freddie said while pumping her hands in the air.
"I can't believe I'm gonna stick it to my mom! In your face, Queen of Hearts!" Quincy shouted as he's kicking his feet in the air.
As they were still doing their silly dancing, the door opened and Pin enters the room.
"Hey Quincy…" Pin trailed off as he's seeing something rather unusual.
The Prince of Wonderland and the Voodoo Girl were still dancing at the news Quincy received sometime a few days ago. The dance was so silly, Pin had to stop himself from laughing and instead, coughs to get their attention.
"Eh-hmm!" Pin coughed.
That got Quincy and Freddie to stop their silliness and noticed Pin at the doorway.
"Oh! Hey Pin." Quincy said giggling nervously. "You surprised us."
"Yeah, I thought puppets were supposed to be silent and not creeping on everybody." Freddie joked.
"I'm not a puppet as you can see. Also, you should be thanking me for putting you on the schedule. With finals coming up, Quincy and I need to schedule our study sessions with breaks in between and it was lucky there was a spot for you on today of all days." Pin said.
"My bad. I was just kidding. You know us Isle people. We sometimes like to be mischievous with our words." Freddie said.
"So I'm guessing you told her, Quincy?"
"Sure did. This is gonna be awesome! I need to figure out what to write for my speech." Quincy smiled very hard.
"Your speech?" Pin asked.
"For when I accept my ambassador position. I'm thinking the words, 'As former inhabitant of the Isle of the Lost, Prince of Wonderland and student of Auradon Prep, I like to thank all the people who's supported me throughout my journey to this point!' What do you think?" Quincy said.
"I think that now we should focus on getting Freddie to her dress. Doug was texting me to see if you were finished." Pin said with his phone out.
"Oh, right! Can't keep Evie waiting." Quincy said as he was clearing up his station
Freddie was even getting herself ready as she flips her hair and shakes her head before putting her tiny top hat back on her head.
"Alright, let's go!" Quincy said.
"You're coming with?" Freddie asked.
"Yeah, I wanna see how your hair will go with your dress and to see if I need to do some touches to it. You wanna look you're best for a certain prince charming." Quincy teased and smirked.
Freddie scowled and darted angry eyes at Quincy. "I hate you."
"You wish." Quincy smiled before he laughed.
All three of them left the room then Quincy closed the door behind them.
Mal's and Evie's Room
Evie is now making sure the dress is fit perfectly Freddie tried it on. Quincy is waiting from the other side of the room with Mal. He couldn't help but stare at Mal's long hair with her bangs from when last Dizzy did it for her. An idea was forming in his head but then Mal notices that he's been staring at her for far too long.
"Something I can help you with?"
"You ever thought of going back shorter?"
"Eh, sometimes."
"Also, your roots are starting are starting to show. Dark purple roots with light purple ends might not be cute after a while."
"Yeah, I meant to get to you about that. Maybe make the two blend together?"
"Sure thing, I have a spot for Tuesday at 4."
"Perfect timing! I'm going with Ben later after at dinner to talk about our summer situation." Mal said.
"Oh that so?" Quincy said. "I was talking with Aziz about that a while back."
"I'm pretty sure I know what he's thinking, but he's also thinking about where you and Evie would have space for you work."
"I was wondering that myself. Though to be honest, I'm not even sure if I'll get much customers. I don't even know how to do summer in Auradon. Last year, my mom gave me prince lessons and made me roll out this out worn out red carpet every single morning for her to walk on before breakfast."
"Didn't you do something like that every year?" Mal asked.
"Each lesson with different, but the carpet thing never changes. The unrolling and rolling back and forth made my head spin. I'll never forget it." Quincy held his head thinking about it as imagining swirls was starting to affect him.
As Mal was looking at Quincy with concern, Evie comes out from the room divider and whistles to the red and purple headed teenagers.
"And now, allow me to introduce you the one and only Shadow Princess, Freddie Facilier!" Evie announced.
Freddie comes out and it was like she was glowing from head to toe. Her dress was ombré effect look that goes from garnet on top blended to magenta at the bottom. The top of the dress is hooked from a piece of fabric that loop around the neck and across the chest. A skull accessory that's glittered sliver is attached to the top of the dress on the lining. Her shoes are strapped around her ankles and are garnet colored. She has on a purple beaded bracelet on her right wrist and the final touch is a small dark red top hat with a magenta ribbon around the base and a pink feather leaning on the left side of it.
Mal and Quincy gasped at the sight of their friend and are so stunned, the words can't get out right away.
"Girl, if Mal wasn't going to be future queen of Auradon, then you would be." Quincy said.
"Can't argue with that. I'm almost jealous." Mal said.
"You're not just being nice, are you?" Freddie asked. "I know Auradon's about being nice and respectful, but be for real with me."
"Freddie, you're beautiful, you're gonna wow everyone at the talent show." Mal said coming up to Freddie holding her hand.
"You really think so?" Freddie asked.
"I know it. You've come along way since you hijacked with us off the Isle." Mal said.
Freddie went over to the mirror to inspect herself. The dress she's in love with, but she's thinking second thoughts about her makeup.
"Maybe I should do pink lipstick instead of the black." She said.
"What?! But you've been wanting to try the black lipstick. You picked out yourself not too long ago and were in love with how it looks." Evie said.
"This isn't like you, Freddie. What's gotten into you? You seem nervous for some reason." Mal said.
"I just wanna look my best. Nothing wrong with that." Freddie said still looking at herself.
Quincy gestures Mal and Evie over to him so he can whisper to them which they comply.
"Trevor's here." He whispered.
"What?!" The two girls whispered back.
"He's spending the weekend here. He told Freddie he'll be watching her at the talent show." Quincy whispered once more.
"Oh!" They whispered.
"No wonder she's losing her cool." Evie whispered.
"She must really like this guy." Mal whispered.
"Obviously. You can read it on her face." Quincy whispered. "I got this."
Quincy went over to Freddie to tap on her shoulder for her to turn around and Quincy places both hands on her shoulders.
"Listen, Freddie. You're a talented singer with the best hair, best dress and baddest attitude. You went from conning people with your soothing voice to belting out notes with it. People have been seeing that since your very first performance at the Neon Lights Ball and you've been getting praised for it from that day forward. Tickets are being sold out because they heard you're planning on singing with that said voice. And I mean everyone." Quincy emphasizes on everyone to let Freddie know she knows who he's referring to. "You can do this, because we all believe in you. You just gotta believe in yourself like I know you do. Once you start on that stage, all the nerves will be a thing of the past."
Freddie stares at Quincy even after his speech and then she reaches for his hands to gently let them down and turns to her reflection.
"On second thought, what am I even on about? I'm slaying in this look! Even my lipstick brings out the yellow in my eyes." Freddie said with a smirk.
"Atta girl!" Quincy smirked as well.
Mal and Evie looks at the other two with pride.
"She's gonna blow them away." Evie said.
"That's the beauty of it." Mal said.
Tourney Field, 7 pm
The bleachers are filled with students and faculty and at the very center of the Tourney field is a huge stage with hardwood floor, blue curtains, yellow ribbons and and a huge yellow banner with 'End of the Year Talent Show' in blue writing. There's even a yellow background with the Beast's crest in blue on it. Everyone was waiting for the show to start as some were having popcorn, drinks, talking with their friends, etc. Jay, Carlos, Trevor and Aziz were sitting with some of their R.O.A.R. friends in the middle. Jane, Lonnie and Emeri were sitting closer to the stage just a few rows in front of the boys. Ben, Mal, Evie and Doug are in the front and Pin is sitting right beside them. Fairy Godmother is now at the center of the stage with the lights on her as she reaches for the microphone.
She clears her throat into it to get everyone's attention, which she succeeds in. "Good evening, Students and Faculty of Auradon Prep! Tonight's finally the night where we celebrate the end of the year, or at least we're close to the end of the year."
Everyone laughed.
"So with final exams coming up in the next month, I thought we could all use the time to unwind from studying and have a night to have fun as we watch the willing participants show off skills and talent we never know they could do! Before we get started, I would like to introduce you to our judges of the show."
The light points at the three judges and they are Audrey, Jordan and Gordon.
"Audrey! Jordan! And last but not least, Gordon!"
The crowd cheers as the Audrey and Jordan waved at everyone behind them. Gordon on the other hand, isn't all that excited to be there. He only agreed to be there as part of extra credit due to him being a little behind in one of his classes.
"Ugh, I can't believe I agreed to this." Gordon muttered.
"Now, to start off, here is our first contestant, Ally!" Fairy Godmother said.
Everyone cheered once more as Fairy Godmother descends from the stage and Ally comes out with two tennis balls. Herkie was cheering the loudest out of everyone when he stood and clapped so hard it was almost like it echoed.
"Thank you, all! For my talent, I'll be doing my Wonder Juggling!" Ally said.
"YEAHH!" Herkie shouted.
"Show us what you got, Ally!" Jordan said.
"Hope it's better than you last performance." Audrey said in her encouraging tone.
"Just get on with it." Gordon grumpily said.
"Hmm, like father, like son, they said." Ally muttered to herself, referring to Gordon's father, Grumpy of the Seven Dwarfs.
Ally starts to juggle counter-clockwise with her two tennis balls, so far, not a single drop.
"So far, so good. Hasn't dropped the ball yet, we'll either of them." Jordan joked.
"It's good, but it kinda bland." Audrey said.
"I wish she just knocked me out with one of those balls." Gordon said.
Just then, Ally surprises everyone when she stealthily added in a pocket watch between her tennis balls.
"Wait, where did that come from?" Audrey asked.
"Hmm, seems like she's got more up her sleeve than just balls." Jordan said.
"Wow, a pocket watch." Gordon said dryly. "What's next, a Rabbit's Foot?"
In another minute, out comes a teacup behind one of the tennis balls, making the 1st ball, the pocket watch, the 2nd ball and the teacup being juggled in order.
"Oooh." The audience said.
"A teacup?" Audrey said in a shocked tone. "Are those fragile?"
"Yeah, kinda bold for her I'll admit." Jordan said.
"I was expecting it, I'll give her that, but still…"
The audience, the judges and even Fairy Godmother was getting interested in Ally's act. As Ally notices she's got everyone hooked, she quickly adds in a doorknob which is after the teacup.
"She just added in a doorknob!" Audrey exclaimed.
"I'm sensing a theme here, then again, it is in the words 'Wonder Juggling' after all." Jordan said.
Gordon almost had no words to say as he keeps watching Ally juggling. Even he couldn't ignore that it was almost impressive. "Huh."
"No negative remarks, little dwarf?" Jordan teased with her smirk towards Gordon.
"Oh there is, I'm just not saying them yet." Gordon replied as he was feeling a little flustered at Jordan's question.
Ally then throws in a toy blue caterpillar, a mini flamingo mallet and a golden crown with a heart inside it.
"Unbelievable! She's juggling 8 items with most of them resembling Wonderland!" Jordan said.
"I'll say, she surprised even me." Audrey said.
"Hmm…." Gordon said.
"Wow, he's really a guy with fewer words." Audrey whispered to Jordan, who nodded her head in agreement.
As she's got everything out juggling in a large circle, Ally uses her left hand to leap the items further in the air and prepares to catch them. She catches the teacup in her right hand, the pocket watch in her left hand. The two tennis balls were caught at the same time on the teacup and the pocket watch. The toy blue caterpillar was saved by Ally's right leg, the flamingo mallet landed on her left arm somehow balanced. And finally the crown with the heart is falling and was looking like it'll fall to the stage floor. Everyone watches with nerves on the rise. Gasps were heard at a sound was noise. The silence was almost deafening, but then the gasps were made again. Ally had her head bend forward and her left leg was also bending, but then she lifted her head back up and reveals she actually caught the crown with her teeth.
"Ta-Da!" She gritted through the crown.
"WOOO!" The audience cheered.
Everyone was clapping and hollering as Ally finished her juggling with swift and grace. Even Herkie couldn't contain his excitement watching his girlfriend perform one of the most amazing performances he's ever seen.
"YEAH, THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND!" Herkie hollered. "SHE DID THAT!"
Ally blushed when she heard her boyfriend's cheers.
Audrey raised a board that has a 7. Jordan's board has a 8. Lastly, Gordon's board has a 5
"Now that was a lovely performance! Ally, ladies and gentlemen! And she even got a score of 20 points at the start of our talent show! Hope everyone brings their A-game as you would say!" Fairy Godmother said.
"You were awesome, Ally! I don't think I've ever seen anyone juggle something other than just balls. You were taking a risk with that teacup and pocket watch!" Jordan said.
"Oh yes, it was unexpected. You even got me on my toes." Audrey said.
The two girls looked to Gordon, who has a nonchalant expression on his face.
"I guess it was fine, I mean nothing broke, right?" Gordon said.
"Someone oughta give you a reason to smile here tonight." Jordan said.
"Good luck to them, ain't no way anyone's gonna make me look like my Uncle Happy tonight." Gordon declared.
Jordan and Audrey looked at at each other and shrugged before silently chuckling.
The Next Performance….
It was Herkie's turn and for his performance, he's got 10 square brick walls that are 5 feet all around stacked on a stand made of iron. He rubbing his hands together, doing some stretches and cracking his knuckles. The audience watches him get ready with Aziz, Jay, Carlos and the rest of the R.O.A.R. team hooting for him in support. Ally was sitting with Lonnie and the other girls, beaming with pride waiting to watch her boyfriend perform his talent. Audrey, Jordan and Gordon are waiting for him to demonstrate, but something was puzzling them.
"Um, Herkie, quick question." Audrey said.
"Sure, what's up?" Herkie said.
"Didn't you do something like this last year?"
"That may be true, but there's a huge difference."
"And what would that be? It was 5 brick walls?" Gordon said grumpily.
"Nope, it was 8!" Herkie said.
Dumbfounded looks spread on their faces at Herkie's responses.
"And also, it was wood, so I thought I try to step it up!" Herkie said.
"Oh!" The judges said. Even Gordon was a bit surprised.
"Well, I hardly remember. I was too busy doing my performance, which won me last year's trophy." Audrey said.
"Who could forget about your famous bird calls?" Jordan said with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.
"It was also squirrels, bunnies and chipmunks!" Audrey said.
Jordan chuckled. "I almost forgot."
After Herkie is finished preparing himself, he goes into position by holding his arms with his fists facing him halfway on the sides of his body. He takes a deep breath, punch forward with his left then his right. He centers himself turning his fists to its sides, all with his eyes closed. After that, he eyes them with determination showing through them and jumps up. The audience couldn't believe it as they witness Herkie jump nearly at the top of the roof of the stage. He then dives down with both his fist and slams on the brick walls with airwaves blasting through the area, making everyone felt that waves and their hair flowing in the air. When it settled, Herkie stood a few feet from it and act like nothing change, though it looks as though he's not far from it since the brick walls appears to be tha same as before he slam dunked his fists onto them.
"Ugh…." The judges said silently.
"Huh?" Everyone else said silently.
"Umm…" Audrey was about to speak.
Herkie raised his hand out in front of them, then counts down with his fingers while looking to the side.
"5, 4, 3, 2…." Herkie said, then mouthed, "1!"
Suddenly, the brick walls snapped in half, all 10 of them. Even the iron stand was bent inwards. Fairy Godmother had her mouth wide open in shock. The same goes for the judges and even so for the audience. Herkie looked back at the audience and flashes his smirk with that same determination in his eyes. But he also was directing his attention to Ally as he noticed how she's still smiling at him the whole time even though he wasn't looking at her before the jump.
"YEAHHHH!" The audience cheered.
"FIGHTING KNIGHTS FOREVER!" Jay, Aziz, Carlos and the rest of their team said.
"WOOO! THAT'S MY HERKIE! MY BIG STRONG BOYFRIEND!" Ally shouted.
Hearing that made Herkie blushed harder than he want. The judges then raises their scores on different pads. Audrey shows a 8, Jordan also shows a 8 and Gordon holds a 5.
"Blockhead actually did it." Chad said. "Still ain't gonna surpass me though."
"My my, Herkie! 21 points! You really do take after your father!" Fairy Godmother said.
"Well, he did give me these muscles for a reason, so I wasn't gonna waste them." Herkie said.
"I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT!" Ariana shouted. "SHOW THEM OFF!"
As Ariana was being obvious of her attraction to Herkie, Ally couldn't help but feel a little irritated at Ariana's attempt of flirting. Herkie was flattered and even give her a nervous awkward smile. Fairy Godmother noticed and then keeps the show rolling when she announced….
"Alright, students and faculty, that was Herkie with his show of strength! God Strength at that! Now then, let's move on!
2 Acts Later…
Someone was sliding across the stage with their back turned. Music started to play and after a few seconds, that student turned and revealed to be Chad Charming wearing a peach colored buttoned shirt, huge white boxers and white socks.
"Just take those old records off the shelf! I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself! Today's music ain't got the same soul! I like that old time rock 'n' roll!" Chad mouthed the lyrics that was playing in the song he chose to play on the speakers.
The audience cheered as they're familiar with the song and watching Chad's chaotic moves. The judges' expressions were a mix of disgust from Audrey, amused from Jordan and bland with a mix of irritation from Gordon. Even Fairy Godmother was shaking her head.
"Oh Bibbidi." She said with annoyance in her tone.
Quincy couldn't help himself but laughed at his best friend's performance. He hasn't laughed that hard since he set up that up that brawl between Jay and Harry back on the Isle with one of his pranks.
"Oh man! I can't believe he actually took my suggestion! I was just kidding!" Quincy said then kept on laughing. It hurt so much he's holding his stomach and got on his knees.
He's currently back stage with Freddie as his coach. The students participating for the Talent Show can either wait backstage or in the bleachers. Quincy looks over to Freddie who was straightening her dress out and taken deep breaths. He quickly stopped laughing and walks over to her.
"You ready for this?" He asked.
"Course I am. I ready to blow everyone away." Freddie said.
"I know you will!" Quincy said. "I have faith that you will."
Freddie chuckled. "If you were to say that back home, you would've been exile."
"Only if they can catch me."
They both laughed. Freddie then twiddled her thumbs looking beyond the stage. Quincy already knows who she's looking for.
"He's there already." Quincy told Freddie. "He's been there before the show started."
"You're positive?" Freddie asked.
"Have I ever been wrong?" Quincy said.
Freddie gives him a look, but Quincy quickly replies, "Don't answer that, you know what I mean."
"I just can't mess this up. I'll get one note wrong and he'll just turn away." Freddie said.
"Freddie, that's your self-doubt talking. Let your confidence shine through and you'll be able to do the rest."
"You're right. I got this." Freddie said.
"That's what I like to hear!" Quincy said with his hands on her shoulders.
Meanwhile, Chad was done and the audience cheered while also laughing. The judges gave out their scores. Audrey holds a 4, Jordan hold a 6 and Gordon holds a 2.
"A 2?!" Chad exclaimed.
"I was being generous." Gordon said. "Take it or leave it."
"I seconded that." Audrey said.
"I demand a recount." Chad said.
"We counted twice before making our decisions." Jordan said. "But if it helps, I thought it was entertaining."
"Yeah, well…" Chad yelled, but he listened to the words Jordan said and softens his tone. "Thank you."
Some of the girls in the audience cheered for Chad and he got his charming smile back.
"At least I can charm the ladies!" Chad said.
The whole audience cheered for him once more and that just added on to Chad's ego as he takes a bow.
"Ok, everyone! Now that Chad Charming has earned 12 points to his…unique talent, let's keep it going!" Fairy Godmother said.
3 more acts later….
A male student was using 3 hula hoops around his neck, arm and leg. Then a girl plays a tuba reciting A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes. And finally, we have Ariana with a huge pastel pink and blue curtain draping in front of the background of the stage.
"Well, you know how in our family we have special skill of getting dressed up?" Ariana asked the audience.
The audience shrugged but keeps watching.
"Well, I just simply want to demonstrate how it simply works." Ariana said as she pulls out a hanger with an outfit ready.
"I would just walk back here…" She goes behind the two-toned curtain. "And come out like this!"
She comes out from the other side of the curtain and she's wearing that same outfit she had on her hanger 5 seconds ago, but she also had her previous outfit on that same hanger.
"Ooooh…" The audience's interest was piqued.
"Hmm, nothing new since I'm part of that family." Audrey muttered to herself.
"But wait, there's more!" Ariana said.
She pulls out a two-piece swimsuit in pink with blue diamonds on it. Ariana looks over to Herkie to see if he was watching and he was, which got her to smirk at him. Herkie notices and wasn't sure if he should keep on watching.
"We are getting close to the summer, so I figured…." She walks back in the curtain and comes out the other side in her swimsuit. "Why not get ready?"
Everyone cheered, the boys hollered louder. Ariana looks over to Herkie, who was still looking as nervous as ever but puts on a smile. Ally can already tell who she's trying to impress and she wasn't having it. Jane and Lonnie notices her anger and Lonnie makes the effort to check on her with her hand on Ally's shoulder.
"Are you ok?" Lonnie asked.
"Oh, I'm fine. Just that Ariana has to make a big deal of things, that's all." Ally said.
"I know from experience, but are you sure you're fine?" Lonnie asked again.
"I am. No big deal." Ally said.
But Lonnie and Jane know better as they looked at each other.
"But even so, I can never be without…." Ariana walked back into her curtain and comes out in front of it. "My evening dresses!"
She is wearing a stunning light blue dress that's puff from the waist below and has light pink ribbons around the band of her bottom lining with bows to match and arm length periwinkle glove with her silver tiara to go with her whole outfit. The audience cheered once more with some of them standing up. The judges then raised their scores to Ariana after she take her bow. Audrey raised a 8, Jordan shows an 8 also and Gordan raised a 6.
"Oh my goodness! 22 points! That's the highest score so far!" Fairy Godmother said.
"I'm not surprised. Not everyone can be as talent as me, but that doesn't mean they should give up, I'm sure they're others that has great assets." Ariana said, but during mist of that speech, she was staring at Herkie and blows him a kiss.
"Oh boy." Herkie said rubbing the back of his neck.
Ally growls silently in annoyance to Ariana getting Herkie's attention. She furiously tapped her foot as a way to calm herself, but it was failing and Lonnie and Jane know that.
"Alrighty then! Now it's time for our final act!" Fairy Godmother announced.
Trevor was getting anxious as he knows who's about to be called up to the stage. Aziz and Herkie sees how Trevor's shifting in his seat and tries to calm him down.
"Dude, chill. You're shaking." Aziz chuckled.
"I know, I'm just a little nervous." Trevor said.
"How come?" Herkie asked with a knowing smirk.
"I have my reasons." Trevor said.
"Does it involve a certain girl you've been thinking about nonstop?" Aziz said smirking.
"Shut up." Trevor said.
Herkie and Aziz laughed cause they know they're right.
Backstage, Freddie is looking through the curtain at the side of the stage.
"It's time." Quincy said. "They're ready for you."
"As soon as I open my mouth, they won't be." Freddie smirked.
"Good luck." Quincy said.
"I never need it, but thanks." Freddie said smiling at him.
Quincy smiles back.
"Everyone, please puts your hands together for our final participant. She made her debut at the Neon Lights Ball and member of our acapella group, give it up for Freddie Facilier!" Fairy Godmother said.
The audience cheered and clapped, awaiting for Freddie to come. Freddie took a deep breath and shakes off any leftover doubts before she finally walks on to the stage in all her glory in her new hair, new makeup and new dress. Everyone cheered for her once more as she made her appearance. Even Audrey and Jordan cheered when they saw her.
"Wow! That dress is just amazing!" Audrey said. "I think I might have to cast my score already."
"Woo! Looking good, girl!" Jordan said.
Gordon though remained unchanged. But he had to admit, she did look really good, beautful even.
"She's fine." He said nonchalantly.
"I bet." Jordon said smirking at him.
Gordon looked at Jordan red in the face. "Don't get an ideas. I was just saying."
"Right." Jordan teased.
Freddie takes a hold off the microphone Fairy Godmother gave her and steps to the side of the stage. Trevor was frozen in his seat at the sight of this amazing girl he's known for the a couple of months. He already thought she was beautiful at first sight, but today, he can't form an words as he was looking at Freddie up and down. It was like she was shining with sprinkles from head to toe.
"Woah." He said breathlessly.
Jay, Carlos, Aziz and Herkie can already tell Trevor's not at home in his head and chuckles to themselves at their friend's lovesickness.
"Wow! She looks amazing in that dress!" Jane said.
"You can thank Evie for that!" Mal said behind her.
"We can also thank Quincy for doing her hair! It's really shining through the crowd." Ally said.
"Huh?" Jordan said having to heard that remark about Freddie's hair. "Hmm…"
Freddie closed her eyes as she waits for the music to start. Right on cue, the music is now being played and then Freddie started to belt out the lyrics.
"For the way you changed my plans. For being the perfect distraction. For the way you took the idea that I had, of everything that I wanted to have, and made me see there was something missing."
The audience stares at Freddie as she sings the lyrics and becomes entranced to her voice. For Trevor, he's been entranced before tonight. Even Gordon felt something when she first started singing. Now he's interested in what she has in store for them.
"For the ending of my first begin. And for the rare and unexpected friend. For the way you're something that I'd never choose, but at the same time something I don't wanna lose, and never wanna be without ever again."
As she was singing, her hair began to shine even more than before.
"You're the best thing I never knew I needed. So when you were here, I had no idea. You're the best thing I never I needed. So now it's so clear I need you here always."
The audience cheered for her again after she finished her first verse and chorus!
"Woo!" Mal hooted while Evie whistled.
Ally, Jane, Lonnie and Emeri cheered with the boys clapped and hollering. Trevor was just smiling from ear to ear as he was clapping along with everyone else.
"My accidental happy (ever after oh oh). The way you smile and how you comfort me (with your laughter). I must admit you were not a part of my book, but now if you open it up and take a look, you're the beginning and the end of every chapter (oh oh)."
As Trevor was staring at Freddie dreamily, someone was waving at him form the corner of her left eye. Trevor looked over and see it was Ariana waving at his direction. Confused, Trevor wasn't sure what to do since Ariana had hardly ever noticed Trevor before he transferred from Auradon Prep.
"You're the best thing I never knew I needed. So when you were here, I had no idea. You're the best thing I never knew I needed (oh). So now it's so clear that I need you here always."
As Freddie was about to sing the 3rd verse, she looks over to Trevor, who shockingly to Freddie, was looking over at Ariana who was waving over to him. The next second, she couldn't get the words out as panic was washing over her.
"What?" Freddie thought. "But…"
The audience murmurs to themselves as Freddie stopped singing her song. Freddie was feeling something she never experienced in her life. Heartbreak.
"No! It can't be!" Freddie thought.
Next thing she knows, tears fell down her eyes. She sobbed silently uncontrollably still watching the interaction with Trevor and Ariana. Confused by Freddie's tears, Quincy looks over to where she was looking at to see what's causing her to be so sad. That was when he saw it. Ariana waving over to where Trevor's seating.
"What?" Quincy whispered. "Why would Ariana be waving at…?" Before he could finish his sentence, he also noticed who was seating next to Trevor and it was Herkie. "Now that makes more sense." He said with lower eyelids. But then he realized something, Freddie must be thinking Ariana is trying to flirt with Trevor cause it looked like they were staring at each other.
"I've gotta tell her!"
Suddenly, Freddie's hair was glowing a deep scarlet red and it washes over everyone in the bleachers, but luckily the judges didn't get hit. That was when Jordon noticed something familiar about what she just witness. While she was trying to remember, Freddie begin glowing all over and her eyes were turning bright red. Her hair was moving like it was being blown by the wind and next thing she knows, she was flying. Everyone was shocked to see how Freddie is levitating from the stage.
"Is this part of the show?" Audrey asked the other judges.
"Not that I know of." Gordon replied.
Jordan on the other hand doesn't believe this is part of her act. "No, I don't think so. Somethings wrong."
Freddie shows an evil smile flashing her teeth. "You know what?" She said in a devilish voice. "I think another song is in order."
Confusion, terror and shock was all that was showing on the students, faculty and Fairy Godmother at the way Freddie spoke. That was when Freddie starts to sing with different music playing.
"When a woman acquires a certain age, and the men who adored you no longer swoon. It's pays to avoid the sunlit days, and live by the light of the kindly moon."
"I never heard of this song before." Lonnie said.
"Ain't she only 16? What does she mean certain age?" Ally said.
During the confusion, Freddie keeps on singing. "But the moon grows old just like us all, and her beautiful years are done. So now she prays through endless days, To take her revenge on the sun."
Trevor keeps looking at Freddie and somehow can feel that she's hurt for some reason. Then suddenly, he feels as he's been lifted from his seat. But it's more than just a feeling cause it's really happening. And not just him, but everyone else is being lifted from their seats. The judges, Fairy Godmother and Quincy are seeing the chaos happen before them with their eyes and mouths wide open.
"Oh, Bibiddi Bobbidi!" Fairy Godmother exclaimed.
Audrey and Jordan gasped and Gordon didn't make no words whatsoever.
"What's happening?!" Audrey said.
"I don't know!" Jordan said.
"When I was a girl at my daddy's side, Papa the royal mortician. Revealed to me in secret signs, The mark of the magician. And daddy was no dummy, did outrageous things with a mummy. And often the stiffs that he would drive, would look better dead than they did alive." Freddie singed.
Quincy is currently still in shock as he see his friend who looks to be possessed but more importantly, she was upset cause of a misunderstanding. He had to get through to her somehow and there was one way to do it. Meanwhile, people are spinning out of control in the air and randomly circling around the Tourney Field. Even Ben and Mal were separated, Evie and Doug, also Jay and Carlos from the team.
"M!" Evie shouted.
Mal tries to fly over to Evie and successfully, they grabbed each others hands.
"What's going on?" Evie asked her.
"No idea!" Mal answered. "Someone's doing some serious magic and I don't think Freddie's doing it on purpose."
"What makes you say that?"
"I can feel it. This isn't something she conjured up. This type of magic is different. It's possessing her!"
"Oh no!"
"Yeah, this is bad!" Mal said.
"Can't you do something?" Evie asked.
"I'll try, I need a second!"
"I'm not sure they'll have long!" Evie pointed out.
Everyone is flying in a zigzag pattern. Jay and Carlos keep bumping into people, Ally and Lonnie are holding hands, Emeri is holding her dress down, and even Herkie is spinning out of control.
"I studied well, I learned the trade. I thought my looks would never fade. If I could find that recipe, To give eternal youth to me. It was always my ambition, To use papa's tuition. And gain some small remission, from the vagaries of time." Freddie singed.
"Your vengeful heart has made us gloom, make your true heart see our doom." Mal said casting a spell.
The green energy leaves her finger and hits Freddie with no effect.
"Oh no! I was trying to make her heart open, but it didn't work." Mal said.
"I think I know why!" A voice called to them.
Freddie continues to sing. "Every little ray of sunshine robs me of my youth. Who to blame? Who the one? Who to curse? You know the only one to blame would be my enemy, the sun."
Mal and Evie looks to see Quincy underneath them. He then proceeds to lasso them down to earth with one of the stage ropes. He catches them and brings them down lower then ties it to the bleachers.
"Thanks, Quincy!" Mal said.
"But what do you mean you know why?" Evie asked.
"Freddie saw Ariana waving at Trevor." Quincy explained.
"What?!" They both said.
"At least that what she thinks she saw." Quincy said.
"I'm gonna need more context." Mal said.
"Ok, so you know Ariana's crazy for Herkie?" Quincy said.
"Who doesn't?" Evie said.
"Well, Herkie happens to be seated next to Trevor and when Ariana waved, Herkie didn't look, but Trevor did." Quincy said.
Mal and Evie gasped.
"That's why my spell didn't work." Mal said. "She was heartbroken because she thought Ariana and Trevor were flirting."
"But that doesn't explain how she's doing all this." Evie said.
"We can play Scooby-Doo later, right now, we have to stop Freddie before she sends everyone off into space!" Quincy said.
"But how we do that?" Mal said.
"Hmm…" Quincy thinks and an idea came up to him. "I know!"
He then makes tracks away from the girls.
"Sure, don't share with the rest of the class!" Mal said angrily.
"Snuff out the light, claim your right to the world of darkness. Snuff out the light, neophytes of a world of darkness."
As Freddie kept on singing, Quincy can see Trevor dangling from the top of the bleachers. He has to reach him before he floats off. Quincy ran up the stairs and luckily is in close range.
"Trevor!" Quincy said.
Trevor heard and see him. "Quincy?"
"Listen! You have to talk to Freddie!" Quincy said.
"What's wrong with her?" Trevor asked.
"She's under a spell. It happened after you thought Ariana waved at you! She saw it!"
"She did? Wait, why would she be upset about that?"
"Trevor, even you know why!" Quincy said with a raised eyebrow.
It took a second for him to realize what Quincy meant by that and by then, it became crystal clear. "Oh. Oh! So does she..like me?"
"You have to ask her that, but before you do, is there anything going on with you and Ariana?" Quincy asked.
"No way!" Trevor stated waving his arms. "She was too high maintenance for me even before I transferred! I was just shocked she was giving me the time of her night."
"I just had to be sure and Trust me, she isn't. She's too busy trying steal Herkie away from Ally."
"Oh, cause he was sitting next to me. That figures."
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go to her!"
"I can't! I tried!"
"Then lemme help with that!"
Quincy brings out another rope and lassos it around Trevor. He pulls pull like a ballon and getting closer to Freddie. She's still singing this same song that's gotten everyone spinning around like they're in a tornado in front of her.
"Apparitions of eternal darkness, spiraling in circles through the night. Creatures of beguiling blackness, no more squinting in the light."
"Freddie!" Trevor called out.
Freddie stops singing at Trevor's voice then turns over to him. He's holding out his hand to reach for her, but she's not interested in reaching.
"Freddie, listen!" Trevor said. "Whatever you think you saw, it wasn't what you think."
She flies over to him, still with the same expression since her transformation.
"I'm not into Ariana! I knew was. I just saw her wave and thought it was for me. I was just surprised at the time, I was just going to wave back and go back to watching you."
"Really? You expect me to believe that?" Freddie said.
"Freddie, listen to him!" Quincy said still holding the rope.
Freddie looks down to Quincy, waiting to hear more.
"Ariana was waving at Herkie! Come on, you know she has a thing for him!"
"Herkie?" Freddie's expression changed as if she was trying to remember. "Wait."
Freddie remembers 3 minutes ago that while it was true that Ariana was waving at Trevor's direction, she also recalls seeing Herkie next to Trevor at the time. That was when Freddie's glowing eyes turned back to normal. She then notices what was happening around her.
"Oh no. What have I done?" Freddie said.
"It's not your fault." Trevor said then finally grabs onto Freddie's hands. "You didn't know this would happen."
"I…just wanted to sing." Freddie said tearfully as a tear ran down her left side of her face. "I just wanted to sing and next thing I knew, I saw you with Ariana and it was just…darkness. I don't know what happened after that."
Everyone was listening, even Fairy Godmother and the judges.
"I wanted tonight to be special, wanted to show you…er, everyone who I am, through my voice." Freddie said.
"Freddie, I already know who you are. And who you're not is your dad." Trevor said looking deeply in her eyes.
"He's right!" Ally said, which made Freddie looked up and sees Ally on top of her. "When you joined our acapella group, you were always kind, a little mischievous with your personality, but you're kind and you have the most beautiful voice we've ever heard."
"Yeah!" Herkie shouted getting closer to Ally. "Sometimes I eavesdrop on you and Ally when ever your practicing and it always bring me some joy."
Herkie then grabs on Ally's hand. "And I mean it." He said looking into Ally's eyes. She reciprocates by doing the same while smiling.
"When you saw how down I was when I failed my geometry test, you cheered me up with a song and suggest I ask for a make-up test." Jay said. "And I was able to retake it and got a B."
"For Spirit Week, you lifted all our spirits by singing our anthem at the cafeteria." Emeri said.
"Don't forget when you sang for those kids in kindergarten a few months back." Carlos said.
"When I heard you were entering the talent show, I made sure to tell everyone to come out for you!" Jordan said.
"Even I have to admit you're talented." Audrey said.
"See, Freddie? You have people that aren't mad at you, they want to support you, if you let them." Quincy said.
Hearing all the praises from her friends, it almost feel like her heart is being repaired after it broke. But she needed to do more to heal it, she needed…to sing. And as if on cue, the music changed back to the first one Freddie was singing with. And that's when she starting to feel like herself when she the words came out of her mouth.
"Who'd knew that I could be (who'd knew that I'd could be), so unexpectedly (so unexpectedly), undeniably happier, sitting with you right here, right here next to me!"
As she was singing her first song, it was like the spell was lifted from her and everyone was going back to where they were seated at like it never happened. Even Freddie was turning back to normal while the judges were back in there seats.
"Cause You're the best thing I never knew I need (said I needed), So when you were here, I had no idea. You're the best thing I never knew I needed (oh), so now it's so clear, I need you here, always!"
As Freddie was coming to her final line, every was entranced once more with her beautiful, soulful voice. Trevor also was back to how he first looked at her with his dopey face and gazing eyes.
"Now it's so clear, I need you here always!" Freddie belt out.
"YEAH!" The audience boomed with cheers.
Hands were clapped, whistles were made and hoots were hollered.
"WE LOVE YOU, FREDDIE!" Lonnie shouted.
"BEST SET OF PIPES I EVER HEARD!" Aziz shouted also.
"YOU'RE AMAZING!" Emeri said.
"YOU'RE NUMBER 1!" Quincy said.
After cheering, Quincy went to cut the rope that held Mal and Evie. The cheers finally stopped and there was the tension in the air. The judges were making their votes, causing Freddie to be a little anxious. She figures that the whole making people flying in the sky bit would've cost her some point, if not all of them. By then, the decision was made and the scores were raised. The scores were so unexpected that even Freddie was baffled.
Audrey raised a 10, same for Jordan with a 10 on her side and finally, the most unexpected surprise was Gordon raising a 10 but that's not all. He even gave Freddie a smile, even showing his teeth. Audrey and Jordan gasped at the sight. Even the audience was in shocked seeing such a smile bestowing on Gordon's face.
"What? I can smile, I just don't do it so often." Gordon said.
"Color me surprised! That performance really must've been spectacular if you're grinning from ear to ear." Jordan said.
"Well, I gotta say, I've never been the one to witness such an intriguing act and this is my first time judging. But I can't ignore how wonderful she sounded, even if she went twisted earlier." Audrey said.
"Same for me, I thought it was seriously wicked on how she can do both. That's how talented she is, the girl who can surprise you when you least expected." Jordan said. "So congratulations, Freddie! You're this year's winner!"
The audience cheered once more and it had to be louder than previous cause now they're streaming and noise makers involved. And as the cheers when on, Fairy Godmother came out with the 1st place trophy.
"Well, I'm not sure what has happened here, but like they said, you earned it. All 30 points, making you the winner. You've come along way, Freddie and I can't wait to see what you'll be up to next year!" She said as she gave Freddie her trophy.
"Thank you, Fairy Godmother!" Freddie said.
She stares at the trophy, which says 'Most talented of the year, 1st place!' On the front. She smiled, but there was tears forming in her eyes and they started to drop.
"Alright, now is time for pictures of the winner!" Fairy Godmother said.
Pin came on the stage with a camera and just took some shots of Freddie while she strikes a pose.
"Wait!" Freddie told Pin. "I want some shots with my friends if I can." She blushed.
"Sure, of course!" Fairy Godmother said.
"Come on up, guys!" Freddie shouted.
Quincy, Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos came up and they posed with her with Freddie in the middle, then Mal on her right side, Evie on her left, Quincy hugging all three of them and Jay crouching on her bottom right with Carlos doing the same on her bottom left.
"And the rest of you!" Freddie said. "Both VKs and AKs!"
Ally, Jane, Lonnie, Herkie, Aziz, Ben, Doug, even Chad came on. Plus Audrey and Jordan joined in. Jordan leaned on Mal with her elbow, Lonnie sides with Evie, Herkie got behind Quincy with his left arm around his shoulder and and Chad on Quincy's left side. Audrey got on Lonnie's side then Aziz with Jordan, Ally sat in the middle of Jay and Carlos and Ben crouches with Jay and Doug does the same with Carlos. Jane is now next to Audrey and Dude suddenly came out of nowhere.
"I wasn't going to miss this!" Dude said.
They all laughed as he got in front of Ally. Trevor then comes to the stage, looking at everyone.
"You too, Trevor!" Freddie said smiling. "Even though you don't go here."
"Mmmhmm." Half of them said.
Freddie elbowed both Mal and Evie who chuckled.
"Well actually, I was gonna wait, but now's a good time to tell you." Trevor said.
"What do you mean?" Freddie asked.
"The reason why I came to Auradon Prep was because I had a little meeting with Fairy Godmother."
"Huh? Meeting?" The group said.
"About my senior year." Trevor said.
"He's coming back to Auradon Prep!" Fairy Godmother said.
"WHAT?!" The group said with happy smiles.
"That's awesome! We got our bro back!" Herkie said.
"This is great! We got our band back together!" Aziz said.
"Even more reason why you gotta be in ten picture with us!" Freddie said.
"Yeah, come on!" Chad said. "I'm tired being next to Herkie 24/7!"
"Come on, dude, I'm not that bad." Herkie said.
"Alright, if y'all insist." Trevor said.
He comes up and get in between Quincy and Chad and got behind Freddie.
"You do mind if I'm here?" Trevor asked Freddie who blushed.
"You see me complaining?" Freddie said trying to be confident with a smile.
As they all settled in their poses, Pin is ready to take a shot of the whole group.
"Everyone say 'Fighting Knights'." Pin said holding the camera.
"Fighting Knights!" They all said.
Pin takes the shot and a flash comes out.
Later that evening….
Ben and Mal were walking into one of the restaurants downtown, and are having a quiet dinner together. They were having a salad before the main course, ranch dressing for Mal and cranberry sauce for Ben. After the first very bites, Mal starts the conversation.
"Tonight was wild." Mal said.
"To say the least." Ben said.
"I don't know what happened to Freddie, and to be honest, I don't know what's been going on lately. Like at Ariana's party, Aziz's trip to the museum and now this." Mal said.
"I'm not gonna lie, I have noticed some things with some of the other students. One of them was attracting a little too much attention with the female students. They followed him all day until he fell him a puddle of mud." Ben said.
"Wow." Mal said then take a sip of her water. "I gotta figure out what's going on. Somethings wrong and tonight proved it. Whatever or whoever is behind, I have to stop this before it gets worse. I was talking with Jordan and we agreed to start investigating immediately. Ally's going to help us since she has some experience with mysteries under her belt." Mal said.
"Sounds like a plan. Call me or text me if you need any help." Ben said reaching for her hand.
"I will." Mal said taking Ben's hand across the table. "I might need you for a roar or two, hehehehe." She laughed.
"They're pretty strong roars, I'll admit. Is that all I am to you?" Ben joked.
"I'm sure you're more than that." Mal teased.
As they laughed, they're food finally makes there way to the table.
"Thank you." They said.
"It's an honor to serve the King and his lady!" The female waitress said.
"Here's a little something for your troubles." Ben said tipping the waitress.
She gasps. "You're too kind, sir!" And she makes her way to the back.
"I almost forgot the main reason why we're out here tonight." Ben said.
"You mean you weren't hungry? I figured you beastly types have a huge appetite." Mal joked.
"That too." Ben laughed. "But I also wanted to talk with you about were you and your friends will be staying at this summer.
"Right. I was really hoping to discuss about that." Mal said.
"I would never forget. You guys are now part of Auradon now, and I want to make sure you've been accommodated. Which is why I set up arrangements for you all to spend summer vacation with me and my folks at our castle."
"Really?" Mal said.
"We got loads of rooms, in case you've forgotten the last time you all were there."
"This is perfect, I can't wait to tell everyone!" Mal said.
"Text them now if you want." Ben said.
"I'll tell them tomorrow, now I just want to savor this moment, just the two of us." Mal raised her glass.
"I like that idea." Ben said raising his glass.
They both clinked their glasses, making a sound.
"To us." Ben said.
"To us." Mal said.
They both lean towards each other with a kiss.
The Next Day….
Freddie is in her room on her laptop having a conversation with someone she hasn't spoken too in a long time.
"Well, it's about time you reach out to me!" A voice said.
"Sorry, Celia. Time just got away from me." Freddie said.
On her laptop is Celia Facilier, her little sister from the Isle of the Lost. Ever since she was wished from there, Freddie hardly ever had time to talk to Celia, being in a new school and all. Whenever she could talk to her, she would tell about the awesome things there here in Auradon and the crazy stuff that happened.
"So what's the latest over there in prepping Auradon?"
"Well, you're big sis just won this!" Freddie showed her the trophy from the talent show last night.
"What?! Is that a trophy?" Celia asked.
"1st place!" Freddie smiled. "And I did it all on my own!"
"I never would've thought in a million years you would get something like that. And you didn't have to steal it? Or used a spell to get someone to give it to you?"
"Nope, turns out all I needed with my own voice."
"Oh, you mean you're singing? You always like to sing, I don't know why."
"It got you to sleep, didn't it?" Freddie teased.
"Maybe. I don't know." Celia said looking away blushing.
"I really brought the house down, you should heard him cheered for me."
"Him?" Celia asked.
Realized what she said, she fumbled and replied, "Um, I mean them! Them cheered for me." She blushed.
After a second, she realized that wasn't what she meant and her eyes got wide and gasped. "Does my big sis have a boyfriend?" She grinned.
"No! No! He's not my anything!" Freddie said.
"So you admit there is a boy!" Celia laughed.
"He's just a friend." Freddie said.
"You really living a fairytale over there, Freddie."
"I'm living my life, that's what I'm doing. I'm finally out of his shadow, like it has been my whole life."
"He asks about you." Celia said.
"Lemme guess, when am I coming back?"
"Something along the lines of getting your cut so he can get his."
"No surprise there." Freddie said. "The only thing that's been cut is him out of my life."
"And me too?" Celia said, with sadness in her voice.
"Celia, you know you're not. Just cause we're from the same dad doesn't mean I don't tolerate you. We're sisters, no matter what. And I can't wait for you to come to Auradon."
"Really? You think I'll like it there?"
"I will give you a personal tour." Freddie smiled.
"Can't wait!" Celia said.
Suddenly, Freddie got a text. It's from Quincy that reads, 'You coming?' On her screen.
"Gotta go, Quincy's waiting for me."
"Still can't believe you guys are friends now." Celia said.
"Me neither, kid!" Freddie said.
"Ok, don't wanna keep you all day. Until next time, big sis!"
"Later, lil sis!"
Freddie then closes her laptop and makes her way out the door. As she was walking, she was getting praise after praise at each hallway she goes through in the school. She meets up with Quincy, Chad, Jay, Carlos, Jane, Lonnie and Aziz.
"Hey guys!" Freddie said.
They all see her and they went to clapping as she walks toward them.
"Really?" Freddie said with a sarcastic tone and a smile.
"Here she is, the voice that doesn't stop!" Quincy said.
"How are you feeling, Miss Most Talented?" Lonnie said.
"Pretty good, actually. I almost didn't sleep last night." Freddie said.
"Well, I hope you got enough of it cause we're heading down to the golf course for a little slice there and a divot there." Jay said.
"What now?" Carlos said in a confused tone.
"It's golf lingo! I looked it up." Jay said.
"Don't do it again." Carlos said.
"Is this all of us?" Lonnie said.
"Yep! Let's go strike out!" Jay said.
"I'm pretty sure that was baseball." Carlos said with his hand on his face.
"Let's just go before he says something else corny." Aziz laughed.
As they all walked off campus, Freddie was secretly happy of how things turned out and now she gets to celebrate that happiness with her friends by golfing.
Mal's and Evie's dorm
Mal and Evie were currently in their room waiting for some people to show up.
"M, how long until they get here?" Evie said.
"They're on their way, E. Just give it a minute." Mal said.
"I just can't believe this is happening again."
"Believe it, it is and can't keep ignoring this anymore."
"I can't believe we're not involving Jay and Carlos in this meeting."
"If a person's behind this, then they'll know something's up if all four of us go at it. We'll call them call when we do need them. For now…"
The door to their room opened.
"We're going with them."
Jordan, Ally, Doug, Herkie and Pin entered the room.
"Good, you're all here." Mal said clasping her hands. "Let's get started!"
