Synopsis: When Donatello's staff breaks during a mission, Izuku stays up to try and help her new friend get the weapon of his dreams.

Izuku was current;y sitting in the lair wearing a sports bra and a pair of leggings. Her hands are covered in bandages mostly for protecting her hands as she continues to punch the punching bag in the lair. Donnie had made a specialized punching bag that could take a lot of punishment, even if Izuku was using her quirk. Donnie also helped to make her some specialized dumbbells and even built a custom made treadmill in order to help Izuku train whilst they were away.
Izuku continues to punch the punching bag before the sound of the Shellraiser is heard. Izuku turns to see that the turtles have returned from a mission. She uses a nearby towel to wipe the sweat off of her face as she approaches her friends. Izuku was going to say something until she saw Donnie walk out of the car with a broken staff with Ralph and Mikey laughing behind him.
"You broke your staff Donnie?"
Donnie sighs "yeah. We got caught up in a fight with a lower tier nomu. We managed to take it out but not before it broke my staff."
Izuku grits her sharp teeth, whilst the nomu weren't too much of a threat they weren't exactly pushovers either. "Ouch, just how many times have you had to get that replaced?"
Ralph chuckles "too many to count." Donnie growled at his brother before he went off to get another staff from Splinter. Izuku approached Leo as the turtle exited the vehicle.
"Why does Donnie not just, I dunno, get a metal rod for a staff?"
"Well then it wouldn't be a bo staff now would it?"
"I know that but it be more durable than the wooden one he has now"
"Splinter gave us these weapons to teach us all a lesson. The twin sai that Ralph uses defensive weapons which contradicts with Ralph's violent personality. The nunchucks require a good amount of control to use which you rarely see in someone like Mikey. Splinter gave me my katanas to help teach me to be the leader. Donnie heavily relied on his tech so Splinter gave him–"
"What is essentially a stick that you can find in your backyard?" Leo grimaced due to Izuku's tone of voice.
"*sigh* look Izuku this is just how things are and we're okay with that. Besides I doubt you could do anything to change Master Splinter's mind." Leo walked off to go rest up whilst Izuku just looked at Donnie, who just got a new staff from Splinter. Donnie walked back to his lab as he began to work on some of his projects.
"Oh please I'll show those two who's useless, I'll sho-"
"I don't think you're useless" Donnie had a heart attack as he turned to face Izuku.
"Oh Izuku, didn't see you there. Uuuuh what are you doing here, shouldn't you be training?"
"I'm taking a break for today, not to mention you looked troubled. You wanna talk about it?"
Donnatello sighed as he sat down at his desk with Izuku sitting to his right. "I know Splinter gave us these weapons to teach us lessons but with what we were facing with the Kraang, Shredder, the league and pro heroes. I dunno, I just feel like I-"
"You feel as if your stick makes you less useful in a fight against robots and superpowered humans?" Donnie nodded to his friend. "Look Donnie I get it, I've been in your shoes before. That feeling of being useless is what my life was like before I gained a quirk and I was still useless to an extent given I was helpless after I used my quirk. Trust me when I say this Donnie, your time will come where you can shine brighter than the others, you just don't know it yet."
Donnie didn't know what to say"T-t-thanks Izuku"
"No problem, though I do agree with you on the weapon upgrade. You need something better than a stick."
Donnie chuckled "trust me when I say this I doubt that Splinter would allow me to get anything better."
"I'm sure he'd listen to you so long as you made a good argument."
"Well what makes you say that? Sure Splinter can be harsh when he needs to but I doubt he would listen. Once Splinter has his mind set on something he rarely changes his mind." Donnie got up from his seat.
"Weren't you working on something Donnie? Where are you going?"
"I was but your speech gave me an idea so imma go do that before I forget, later Izuku." And with that Donnie left Izuku alone in the lab. Izuku looked over the many different things that were in Donnie's lab before her eyes landed on one thing in particular.
A pile of destroyed kraang bots
The boys, mostly Donnie, usually collected one or two of these for study or in case they wanted to use them for training purposes. Izuku, however, had a different idea in mind for the old robots. Izuku grabbed some of the parts of robots as an idea came to mind.
She picked up as much as she could carry from arms, torsos, legs and even several kraang laser guns and brought it over to Donnie's workbench. She immediately began to tear each part of the kraang tech, lining up all the parts into a singular pile. She then took apart the kraang guns making sure to be extra careful just in case something were to go wrong and explode in her face.
Izuku logged onto Donnie's computer, as the geek had already given her the password to the device, in order to find a design that was created by Donnie. Donnie had shown Izuku a design that he had made in the past of a mechanical bow staff but, due to a lack of proper materials (high grade titanium) and a good power source that would last longer than a few minutes, he scrapped the idea. Izuku put on a mask in order to use the blowtorch and got to work.
"I wonder how long this will take?" Izuku thought to herself as she followed the instructions in Donnies blueprints.
THE NEXT DAY
Donnie woke up inside his bedroom, feeling energized after last night's mission. Izuku had given him some advice and it had given him some ideas on some improvements he could make to his staff. Donnie walked out into the hallway only to see a purple light emanating from his laboratory.
Donnie grabbed his staff before cautiously approaching the lab. He opened the door to see-well-how does he describe this
"IT LIIIIIIIIIIVES". Pure fucking chaos
Izuku was in a lab coat that he had lent her as she stood in front of some sort of device she made.
"Hey Izu, you okay?" The greenette turned around, allowing Donnie to see that she had bags under her eyes, did she not sleep or something.
"Oh Donnie you're awake, perfect." Izuku grabbed the turtle's hand before bringing him over to the desk. When he got over there he saw what Izuku had hidden behind her. A mechanical bo staff. The design was primarily a shiny gunmetal gray with it having multiple glowing purple accents on its sides. There was a small screen in the center of the staff with several purple colored icons that could be pressed.
"Izuku, this is–"
"That techno staff design you showed me some time ago. You mentioned to me how , so I used the remains of those kraang bots as the exterior metal. I tore apart their guns and the torso's in order to find a suitable power source for the staff that doesn't involve increasing the electrical bill. The controls are all the same as the blueprints and your previous model so you should be able to use it to its full potential. Given its new poweryoumorethanlieklyhavethecapabilitytomatch–" Izuku continued to mumble off rambling before a voice was heard behind them,
"What in the world are you two nerds talking about so early in the morning?" The two turned around to see Raphael, Leo, Mikey and Splinter all at the door.
Izuku looked over at Donnie "Wait, it's morning?"
This time Mikey spoke up "yeah Izuku it's almost 10 am."
"Well….. God I'm a workaholic"
Now Donnie was concerned "uh Izuku how long would you say you were down here for?"
Izuku gave the turtle genius a deadpan look "I never left after you did." Donnie then began to do some basic math. Given that he left the lab around eight-ish that would mean that-
"YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE FOR OVER TWELVE HOURS IZUKU"
Izuku simply shrugged at the answer before her body collapsed on Donnie's desk. Everyone came over to see what had happened only to hear Izuku snoring, having passed out from exhaustion. "She's okay, she's just out cold"
Mikey scratched the back of his head "I'm surprised she was up for so long, what was even doing in here anyway?" Donnie grabbed the techno staff off the lab bench, twirling the staff in his hands.
"This is an old design for a techno staff I was working on. I showed Izuku the blueprints a little bit ago. Izuku must've wanted to make this as a sort of thank you."
Ralph spoke up "If Izuku made that thing, why couldn't you?"
"One of the main issues was the materials as most metals that are incredibly durable are incredibly heavy and would've thrown off my game when using it. The second was a power source as I couldn't make anything that would allow this to last for an extended period of time that could fit inside something this small. Izuku seems to have used the parts from Kraang bots and has used the power source for the kraang's guns for the staff."
Leo, obviously curious, made his voice heard "what's so special about that staff that it needs batteries?" Donnie pressed a few buttons on the small screen as one of the ends of the staff transformed into a blade, about half as long as one of Leo's katanas. This action shocked his brothers and intrigued his father.
"The staff can adapt to the situation should I need to. The main designs I went with were a blade form, a hammer form, a grappling hook form and a rocket fist form. I have a few other designs but these were the only ones I could get working on the original prototype I made a few years back."
Mikey scratched his head "wait if you made a prototype then where is it?"
"I decided to test it a few blocks down, unfortunately I didn't take into account some rats gnawing at the cables which caused a feedback loop and made the staff self implode. Fortunately it was a rather small explosion and I was unharmed from the experience."
Splinter placed a hand on Donnie's shoulder "so long as you're okay I will let this incident slide. I will admit when I first saw this I was concerned you would begin to regress before I began training you. "
Donnie's face relayed his shock to his father "your-your not mad sensei?"
Splinter shook his head "I am not. As of right now you boys are fighting not only the Kraang and the Foot Clan, but now these League of Villains. Relying solely on your martial arts skills and your weapons alone can only get you so far. You boys will need every advantage you can get whether it be new weapons like these." Splinter gestures to the staff in Donnie's hands "to new allies such as Izuku."
Izuku's head shoots up like a rocket "I AIN'T GIVING BACK ONE FOR ALL ALL-MI–... What happened?" Izuku began to look around the lab before her eyes landed onto the boys and Splinter. "Oh, hey guys, what's up?"
Donnie attempts to explain the situation "well you see-"
"You finished Donnie's super nerd staff before passing out due to a lack of sleep" but Ralph beats him to it.
"Oh….." Izuku scratched the back of her head. Izuku looked at Donnie's staff in his hands "do-do you like it? I followed the blueprints in your laptop as best I could." Donnie was thinking of a way to respond, but Izuku took his silence a different way.
"I'm sorry Donnie, I just-you were so down yesterday that I thought I could try and do something useful for once and hel–OW!" Izuku was cut off when she was smacked on top of the head by Splinter's cane.
"You don't need to apologize Izuku, you did nothing wrong. I was just thinking of a way to say thanks so." Donie wrapped his friend in a hug "thanks" Izuku wrapped her friend in a hug two separated as Izuku whipped away a few tears.
"So, you wanna test that thing in a spar, Donnie?"
The smartest of the turtles smirked "just don't come crying if you lose due to lack of sleep." Izuku got up and out of her seat as she and Donnie ran off to the dojo, the other three brothers and Splinter close behind them.
Izuku stood in front of the tree within the dojo whilst Donnie stood on the opposing side to Izuku. Izuku got in a battle stance whilst Donnie did the same. Izuku then charged up OFA to about 5% whilst Donnie spun his new staff around as he formed a rocket fist. The two teens charged at one another, with everyone eager to see who would come out on top.
MANHATTAN HARBOR - 0900
Multiple foot bots and disguised Kraang were seen loading crates onto a truck, each of crates being full of canisters of mutagen. The foot bots, four with two arms and three with four, are also accompanied by Rahzar, Fishface and one of the leagues mid tier nomu's. The nomu had two arms and teal green skin. Its head and the top of its hands had chainsaws sticking out of them.
"I still don't get why master shredder allied himself with people like the league." Rahzar wasn't exactly thrilled to be working from some small time league of wannabe supervillains. Even if they had the ability to make beings with multiple quirks he doesn't get why that's so special.
"Well Rahzar according to master Shredder the League of Villains master is a dangerous man, one that was able to cripple the likes of the symbol of peace." Now that got Rahzar's attention.
"Wait really, he crippled All-Might? I thought he was invincible."
"Indeed, I don't remember his exact name but I think Shredder mentioned the name 'All For One'." Rahzar remembered that name, from two different places. One was from the kid that Shredder had attempted to mutate and turn against the heroes who's now with the damn turtles and said that that guy wanted his quirk.
The second was from a local legend. The man named All For One was a local legend to people but it was primarily a Japanese local legend. The man was essentially a boogeyman from the dawn of quirks. He was seen as a symbol of chaos, despair and destruction with his ability to steal quirks. Nowadays people treat him as nothing more than a fairytale, a legend made up to scare kids. Many believed he was killed years ago whilst others believed he never existed. But Bradford knew better, he did exist, he was Japan's deepest darkest secret and he intended to find him some day.
"If that Tomura dickhead is truly working for All For One, that means tha–" Rahzar was cut off as one of the supply trucks exploded in a fiery inferno. The Kraang drew their guns whilst the foot bots got into battle stances. One of the foot bots approached the truck and stopped about a foot from the fire. The foot bot's face was then grabbed by a mechanical arm before its head was crushed like a grapefruit.
"You are all members of the foot clan, it seems Shredder's standards have fallen if he uses trash robots like you." A man stepped out of the fire, his eyes glowed a fearsome orange. He had blonde hair and was about 5 '10", he wore a blue sleeveless shirt with white outlines. a pair of black jeans and .
"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in"Rahzar growled "GET THAT SON OF A BITCH" . The Kraang, remaining foot bots and even the nomu engaged the hero. The hero began to glow a fiery orange as his shirt showed six glowing lines on his chest before the backs of his shoulder ignited with flames as he blasted forward. He immediately took out two of the four armed foot bots with ease before blasting two of the dual armed bots with his incineration cannons, melting the bots in an instant.
"Kraang will engage the number 10 hero know as Demon Cyborg" the kraang began to fire upon the pero hero who was able to dodge their laser guns with relative ease before a curved blade extended from the outside of his forearms, slicing one of the kraang in two from shoulder to waist.
Two of the kraang charged forward, the blades on their guns revving up as they attempted to cut the cyborg hero in two. Their blades made contact with the hero's forearm and were snapped in two. Demon cyborg grabbed the two kraang before blasting them both with a wall of fire "incinerate."
The nomu then revved up its chainsaws before engaging the number ten hero, with Demon Cyborg actually putting in the effort to avoid being hit. Two of the remaining four armed foot bots attack from behind but Demon Cyborg jumps above the robots as the nomu sliced them in two. Genos lifted up his left leg before he rocketed downwards and slammed his boot into hits skull before incinerating its head with a torrent of flames
"This is Fishface, requesting backup immediately, the number ten hero is here." Fishface yelled into his communicator for assistance. He knew what this hero was capable of and he wasn't stupid enough to face him in a one on one fight.
"DON'T BOTHER CALLING FOR BACKUP GENOS IS MINE" Rahzar charged not giving two fucks about. "YOUR MINE DEMON CYBORG" Rahzar jumped into the air with Genos grabbing Rahzar's paws before kicking him in the jaw and sending him into one of the cargo containers. Bradford began to get up and then looked into Geno's eyes.
US RANK 10: The Robotic Hero: Demon Cyborg
True Name: Genos Kuseno
Genos actually doesn't have a quirk but his body was damaged beyond repair. His grandfather, Dr Kuseno, gave him some cybernetic upgrades in order to get revenge on the man who killed his family. Genos' cybernetics allow him to do all sorts of wacky things from flight, super strength, super speed. He has numerous retractable blades on both his arms and his legs. Genos
"Your voice matches that of Chris Bradford but you don't look like him. Do you mind explaining who you are?"
Bradford whipped the blood from his mouth "I am Bradford but let's just say that I've been mutated into something better. Also the name is now Rahzar so don't you forget it Genos."
Genos's eyes widened in surprise "how did you obtain this new form Rahzar? You said that you were mutated so what happened." Rahzar prepped his claws as Genos' body glows orange once again as the two charge at one another.
Until a portal opens up to Genos' right
Genos attempts to dodge but is caught up in a blast of bright blue flames. Rahzar looks over to see Tomura and Kurogiri as well as some new guy with black hair, blue eyes and burn scars all over his body. "Who's the new guy?"
"Names Dabi, and you must be that Rahzar guy Shigaraki mentioned." Dabi looked up and down at Rahzar, sizing up the martial artist "you don't look so tough to me."
Rahzar then approached the one called Dabi only for Fishface to make himself know "look maybe we can take this fighting elsewhere, I doubt that those explosions from earlier didn't attract any attention." Tomura looked at Kurogiri before nodding as the warp villain used his quirk to send was was left of their forces elsewhere.
"Spiral Incineration Cannon" Kurogiri was gonna then send the mutagen to a warehouse for further experiments but was stopped when Genos fired his ultimate attack at the mutagen, incinerating it into nothingness. Genos then burst forth from the wall he was launched into, getting all the villain's attention.
"You are Tomura Shigaraki and Kurogiri from the League of Villains. Answer me this and I will grant you a swift death: Where is Izuku Midoriya?" The mention of the missing UA student got Tomura's attention.
Tomura began to scratch his neck, the villain slowly losing his cool "what does that reptilian brat have to do with anything?"
"Chris Bradford as well as a female ninja kidnapped the boy in Japan. Both convicts in that attack were members of the Foot Clan who are located in New York. It was rather obvious given your bad blood with Midoriya as well as Kurogiri's warp gate quirk that you are also responsible for Midoriya's disappearance. So I will not ask again-*Genos primed one of his incinerators, preparing to blast them with his cannons*-Where. Are you hiding. Izuku. Midoriya."
The Mexican standoff -is it still a Mexican standoff if Americans and Japanese are involved?- that was happening in the harbor was tense. It was tense enough that you could hear a pin drop. This standoff was cut short by the sound of something crashing through the shipping containers as well as the sound of jet engines. Before anyone could make heads or tails of WTF was going on a massive flat face semi-truck came crashing through. The truck was a primarily red color with a silver stripe going back in the middle of the truck. It also had a gun metal gray trailer attached to the back.
Tomura and Dabi all jumped up to avoid the hit, Kurogiri teleported out of the way, Genos jumped back and upwards to avoid the hit as Fishface jumped into Rahzar's arms who was gonna try and stop the truck.
Only for both to become roadkill in the process.
"KUROGIRI WARP" Kurogiri immediately began sending warp gates to get everyone out of the way. Genos immediately charged at Rahzar and Fishface whilst the truck began to morph into a more humanoid shape as a bright blue hand stuck out from what looked like an arm. In the skies a girl with jet parts dove downwards at breakneck speeds as she attempted to take down the warp villain Kurogiri.
All three of them failed by a hair as the villains slipped away.
The jet girl rotated her engines 180* inorder to avoid crashing into the ground, Genos crashed into a shipping container and the truck now stood at its full height of about 28 feet tall. Genos punched his way out of the cargo container as we went outside to examine who had arrived, though he had a pretty good guess as to who.
"What the hell happened here, Demon Cyborg? And why were their members of the League of Villains here?" Maverick, the US rank 3, stood before Genos. She appeared to be in some civilian clothing but her face conveyed that she had been crying. "I was busy with some personal matters and then I hear of you blowing shit up, WHAT THE HE-"
"Maverick, calm down. Genos, what happened here?" Genos turned to the 28 foot tall form of the USA's number two hero.
US RANK 2: The Transforming Hero: Optimus Prime
True Name: Peter Cullen III
His quirk, cybertronian, allows him to turn into a massive 28 foot tall robot with the form being that of the infamous leader of the Autobots, Optimus the freaking Prime.
"I apologize Optimus, I had obtained some information of a deal going down here involving the foot clan. I came to investigate and apprehend them until the league showed up."
"Since when do you apprehend villains, let alone foot clan thugs, what gives?" Maverick spoke up. She knew Genos was more of the type to eradicate villains usually in order to deal with them as swiftly as possible so seeing Genos try and spar them was something new.
"You believe them to have Midoriya captive, don't you?" Maverick turned to Optimus in surprise.
"Correct, physical descriptions of the two thugs who kidnaped the UA student match that to Karai, the daughter of Shredder, and the one known as Rahzar aka Chris Bradford."
"HOLD UP A SEC YOU TWO, you mean to tell me that the Foot Clan kidnapped some random kid and somehow got him back into America, let alone New York, without anyone seeing him?" Maverick protested the theory as, whilst these were ninja's, there was no way they could get out of the country, kidnap a kid, get back into the country and get past each of the top ten heroes including Peter, John, herself and Cathleen.
"I believe they used the warp villain Kurogiri's quirk in order to get them out of Japan and into the USA. " Prime puts his right hand to his chin as Maverick's eyes widen. If Kurogiri can teleport them halfway across the damn planet than its no wonder he they could escape Japan
"Oh great now what the hell are we meant to do?" Peter kneels down to the two younger heroes as he presents what's in his left hand. Genos' and Maverick's eyes widen
Genos: are those?
In Prime's hands were some bits of Shigaraki's hair as well as his signature hand mask.
"I managed to grab these just before he got away, I'll take them back to Wheeljack and Dr. Kuseno to see if this can help track down the supervillain." Prime stood up to his full height before walking back through the carnage he created when he arrived. He turned back to his deputy heroes.
"Well anyways I'm off to my place, I need to take care of a few things before I can begin investigating. I'll see you both tomorrow at Iacon, 10 o'clock sharp." Peter waves the two younger heroes off as he transforms into truck mode before driving away. Genos turns to the number two, the tear marks still visible as the jet hero
"Maverick, I've been meaning to ask, why does it look like you were crying?"
"Uh, well-"
FLASHBACK
Maverick is crying whilst she watches 'Transformers the Movie (1986)'. She shoves a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth as she watches Optimus Prime pass on into the afterlife. She then grabs the body pillow of Optimus Prime that is sitting next to her as she cries into it.
END OF FLASHBACK
"That aint none of your business Demon Cyborg" Maverick jets off into the sky, spraying dust all over the cyborg hero. Genos then begins to walk off but his eyes land on a broken canister of ooze with some sort of bright blue liquid leaking out of it. Genos kneels down and takes a sample of it. He then begins to remember a line by Shigaraki that sounded odd to him.
Shigaraki: What does that reptilian brat have to do with anything?
Why would Shigaraki describe Izuku as reptilian when the hero has no reptilian features about him. Genos then begins to wonder if this strange liquid was related to Bradford's current form. What if Shredder mutated Izuku and turned her into some sort of reptile in order to turn him against the heroes. If that's true then Genos needed to get this stuff to Dr. Kuseno so he could make an antidote. Genos was worried as he had seen what this stuff could do to the physical body.
But what could it do mentally?
JESUS CHRIST this took waaaaaaaaaay fucking longer than it should of. Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying yourself. Also in case you were wondering, yes, Genos was the guy from the last chapter at the end. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I hope to see you all next chapter.
