THREE DAYS LATER
Izuku is currently in the dojo, continuing to train in some martial arts forms with Leo whilst Ralph Mikey and Donnie were doing their own thing. She still needs to continue her training if she is to ever join her friends on their missions. With how things were going she was hoping to be able to join them in the near future. She was taken out of her thoughts by the door to Donnie's lab opening, the lab's owner walking out with a pair of techno-goggles - they reminded Izuku of Hatsume - on top of his head.
"I got word on a foot clan warehouse, it's just a few blocks out" Donnie grabbed his technostaff from the wall before placing it on his back. After a few days of getting used to the new staff, Donnie loved his new weapon and Izuku couldn't be any more happier. Ralph and Mikey looked at each other before nodding and turning off the TV. Leo bowed to Izuku, bidding her farewell before going off to join his brothers.
"Hold on just a minute my sons" the voice of Master Splinter cut through the air like a knife. In his arms was a hero outfit with green accent marks as well as a pair of boots. Splinter approached his five proteges, suspense building with each passing moment. "I would like you four to take Izuku with you on this mission" Izuku's eyes widened as Ralph jumped up and wrapped an arm around her neck.
"HA what did I tell ya? I told you Master Splinter would let you go" Ralph was referring to last night where Izuku mentioned how she was worried that she wouldn't be ready to go out on a mission. She bowed to her master before thanking him for this opportunity.
"With some help from April, I have taken some time to construct a suit for you to wear on your missions." Izuku's eyes lit up with joy before she hugged Master Splinter.
"Thank you so much Master Splinter" Izuku took the suit from Master Splinter before quickly going to her room to change. Ralph simply rolled her eyes at Izuku's antics whilst Mikey giggled.
Leo turned to his father "by the way master Splinter what exactly did you do with Izuku's outfit?"
Splinter turned to the leader of the group "As previously mentioned I had some help from April as she and Casey accompanied Izuku on their clothing trip, and she had more knowledge on clothing than I do. I had her help me form a hero suit for Izuku that is both lightweight for nimble movements and durable enough to last through a battle. I also have several copies of it for Izuku should she overuse her powers or her costume is damaged. " The sound of the door to Izuku's room opening was heard as all of the mutants' heads turned to the girl in question.
She had a primarily black with a dark gray stripe down the center diving style suit that covered up her torso but had a hole in the back for her large tail. The suit stopped at the tops of her thighs and shoulders. Her arms and shoulders were covered by a gray jacket that reached down to her elbows. The jacket also had a similar hoodie attachment to match the hood of Izuku's hero costume only in gray rather than green, thought it still kept the bunny ears
Her hands were adorned with fingerless gloves due to her fingertips having claws. On her legs she wore a pair of boots with holes in the front for Izuku's toes to allow for easier swimming with black thigh high stockings (April's decision) with a black belt around her waist that contained many ninja related items like shurikens, smoke bombs and kunai's just to name a few. On her head was green mask that went over her face much like Splinter's sons and a metal mouth guard to cover Izuku's mouth similar to his previous costume
Donnie was the first to comment on Izuku's suit "you look great Izuku."
Izuku walked over to her to her friends and mentor "thanks Donnie." She quickly bows to Splinter "and thanks again master splinter." Splinter simply smiles as Izuku and the turtles run off to the shell raiser and quickly leave the base to go take down the foot clan.
LATER - somewhere in manhattan
The turtles and Izuku disembark from the shellraiser and, after hiding the shellraiser in an alleyway, quickly move about the rooftops to get to the warehouse in question. Once they arrive on top of the warehouse they open a nearby window on the roof and land on the rafters inside the building, they're eyes going pure white. They count a total of 20 foot bots and a mid tier nomu. The mid tier nomu had four arms on its body with two perched on top of its shoulders rather than beneath its original set.
As to what they are doing here they don't know, but given they were breaking into several crates it looked like they were looking for something. Leo throws up a few hand signals, with the other four teens nodding. Leo and Donnie go in one group, Ralph and Mikey go in another with Izuku going alone given her quirk. When Izuku gets into position, she uses her tail like a rope to descend from the rafters, as she gets behind two foot-bots before grabbing their heads and bending them in a way that forces them to shut down. She quickly pulls them both up into the rafters and lays their bodies on the rafters above.
The other four turtles dispatch foot bots in similar fashion before they get spotted by the nomu, it roaring at the sight of Mikey. The foot bots quickly take a battle stance before engaging everyone but Izuku, who descends from the rafters and crushes two foot bots into pancakes. She quickly engages the nomu as she is best suited to handle them whilst the boys handle the foot bots.
Leo quickly blocks a sword strike from a four armed foot-bot, pushing the robot back before slicing it at the waist. Leo dodges a few shurikens before engaging two more foot bots before deflecting another shuriken with his sword and swiftly cutting off the arm of the foot bot who threw it.
Ralph slides underneath a strike from a mace from one of the foot bots before gripping its arms and tossing it over his shoulder and into the ground. He uses one of his sai's to stab the footbot in the head, disabling it before gut checking another. Ralph looked above only to notice a bunch of footbots holding bows and arrows, which he was forced to dodge.
Mikey dodged a blade strike from a foot bot before activating the blade on one of his nunchucks. He gripped the bladed end before using it to decapitate the foot bot in an instant. He then tossed the blade at two more foot bots, who dodged the strike as the blade embedded itself into some storage containers. Mikey simply smirked as pulled on his weapon, causing the containers to fall on top of the foot bots.
Donnie quickly changes one of the tips of his bow staff into a rocket hammer before pulling the trigger and smashing the nearests foot bots skull in. Two foot bots throw shurikens at Donnie who uses his bow staff to block the throwing stars. He quickly turns his staff into its blade form and stabs one of the foot bots in the neck before using the other end to bitch slap the other robot away. Donnie used the opening to activate the engine that was behind the blade rotated in such a way that he chopped the foot bot from the waist up.
Izuku's fist clashed with the mid tier nomu, with the shockwave kicking up dust in the impact. The nomu tried to throw its two right hands at Izuku who simply ducked down before jumping up and punching it in the jaw. She immediately started attacking its pressure points on its chest before dodging a strike from the beast. She grabbed its neck with her tail before grabbing one of her kunai's on her belt and stabbing it in its brain. The monster screamed as it grabbed Izuku before crashing into a large pile of crates which collapsed on top of them.
"IZUKU" Donnie was distracted for the briefest of moments before getting socked in the face and crashing onto the floor. Donnie only got a moment to look up before a foot bot attempted to stab him with a pitchfork. Donnie was struggling to push it back before someone crashed through the roof, getting the robot's attention off of Donnie allowing him to kick it away from him. One of the foot bots quickly engaged the newcomer only for the new person to pull a large cannon out of her back and shoot it at the footbot, blasting a hole into its chest. The footbots all disengage the turtles whilst the newcomer has a pair of dual gatling guns appear on her wrist. The sound of rocket engines is heard as the woman begins to spin around like a beyblade. She manages to destroy all but two of the footbots but also nearly hits all four of the turtles..
The woman quickly jumps above everyone before pulling out a second blaster and landing in between the two remaining footbots. She begins firing off her canon at the one in front of her whilst the one behind tries to stab her with its sword. She quickly whacked the blade away using her right cannon which also smacked the foot bot in the face causing it to stagger. Using the opening she fired off two shots with her left cannon, the first hit its left shoulder and blew that respective arm off whilst the second hit the right elbow destroying its remaining hand. As the robot was tumbling back, she fired off two shots with her right cannon with both of them landing in its chest and finishing it off. The final boot bot jumped at her with all four of its weapons as the hero reloaded her left cannon which reloaded just in time for a near point black shot to the final foot bot's chest which sent it crashing through the crates behind it before it indented the wall behind it.
The hero quickly did a survey of the room before her eyes landed on four turtles who were spread out through the warehouse. The hero quickly reloaded her right cannon before pointing them both at the turtles, with two miniguns appearing on her shoulders. The four brothers got into defensive stances as the moonlight finally allowed them to see who they were fighting against.
"So, you must be the Jet Hero Maverick right?" Donnie asked as Maverick simply responded by glaring at the bow staff wielder. Donnie placed his staff on his back, hoping that he could reason with her. "Look miss, we're not your enemies, in fact-WOW" Donnie jumped back to avoid a cannon shot blasted at his feet. Donnie looked up as Maverick simply glared at him, her cold calculating eyes staring into his soul.
"You got a lot of balls, lady." Ralph snarkilly commented. Whilst he was angry that this lady almost shot Donnie he was also hella worried. Maverick got her number 3 spot for a reason and he doubted it was by being popular given her attitude. What's worse was that Izuku was still either unconscious or stuck underneath the rubble.
"And you are a bunch of fools for challenging the Foot Clan." Maverick spoke back. Unbenounced to the brothers Maverick had sent a distress call to Peter and Genos about the foot clan warehouse so they were going to be arriving in a few minutes.
Leo immediately tried to de-escalate things "look Maverick we don't want any trouble, we just–"
Maverick cut him off "you were committing acts of vigilantism, if you didn't want to worry anyone you should've left this to the heroes instead of trying to play pretend. Now be good little boys and put your weapons down, or do I need to force you to put them down?" Maverick simply glared at the four turtles, all of them waiting for the other to make a move. Maverick had the advantage at a distance, meaning all she had to do was stall until Genos or Optimus arrived.
Unbeknownst to any of them, a sixth person was about to make herself known.
Just as Maverick was about to make a move, one of the crates to Maverick's left was tossed straight at her, the hero yelping in surprise. She quickly fired off a blast at the crate, destroying it with ease. She was gonna say something until she suddenly felt some pain in her gut. The last thing she saw was a pair of green eyes and green lightning before she was sent flying through crates and out a window into the wall of the building next door. The boys looked to see Izuku standing where maverick once stood, her right fist outstretched with her signature green lighting arching across her body.
Izuku turned to her friends, "we have to go before more heroes show up." The boys agreed as they all used their grappling hooks to exit out through the roof. Whilst they were escaping, Maverick unburied herself from the rubble before hearing the sound of tires screeching and noticing a train car on wheels driving off into the night. She quickly activated her jets in order to pursue them only to crash into the ground. She looked back at her wings and found that her right wing was bent at a 45 degree angle upwards, causing her eyes to go wide at the realization she was hit hard enough for them to bend.
"Maverick, that you?" She looked up to see Genos standing atop the building to her left. The cyborg quickly jumped down and landed in front of her, offering her a hand up. She took it given her center of balance was now thrown off with her wing bent to shit. As she was brought to her feet, she heard the sound of tires screeching as a bright red truck stopped behind Genos. The truck began to shift and change before taking on the form of Optimus Prime. The large hero looked down at his friends.
"Genos inspect the crime scene, I'll tend to Maverick's wounds" Genos nodded as he was through the hole Maverick came from whilst the jet hero gripped the wall to keep herself balanced for a brief moment before trying to walk out. She ultimately failed as started falling towards the ground but was swiftly caught by the number two hero. Prime stood up before carrying the jet hero over to his trailer.
As he did, Maverick began to wonder who it was that sucker punched her. From the information she knows, none of the foot clan have a pair of emerald green eyes AND a quirk that can give the user super strength with those little green lighting effects. There was someone who had both of those qualities but then that begged an even bigger question of why a hero student would go rogue AND on a different continent for that matter? As Optimus placed the jet hero in his trailer, Maverick continued to be in deep thought whilst Optimus turned to truck mode and drove off to a nearby hero base to help Maverick repair her wing.
LATER - NEW YORK SUBWAY
The shell raiser is seen traveling underneath the tunnels to the lair, with Leo driving the vehicle. Leo turned around in the shell raiser to his brothers and Izuku "everyone okay?" Everyone responds with either nods or groans. Whilst they had managed to come out of that with minimal injuries the fact that they were nearly caught by the number three hero was troubling. Especially since she now knows what they look like. Leo only hopes the smoke cloud from earlier concealed Izuku so that she can still remain hidden.
"Dude, I did NOT see that coming." Mikey commented on the main point of Leo's internal conversation, Maverick.
"Yeah no kidding, she took out those foot bots like she was nothing." Ralph said as he laid back in the gunner's seat of the Shellraiser.
"Well she is the number three hero, if she's anything like Hawks she's one heck of a force to be reckoned with" Izuku commented as Donnie applied some medical care to her arm. She had received a few bruises both during her brief clash with the nomu and when the boxes had fallen on top of her. As Donnie applied some medical cream to one of her bruises, Izuku winces in pain.
"Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sting" Donnie assured Izuku
"It's fine, it's my own fault for not letting go of the nomu" Izuku said as Donnie
Ralph turned to the half reptilian girl "gotta say Izuku, for a first mission you did pretty well."
Mikey, who was sitting on the opposite side of the Shellraiser from Izuku, chimed in "yeah she was all like POW POW WATAAH, then she wrapped her legs around the nomu neck and began beating the shell out of it. It was like something outta a spy movie dawg." Izuku blushed at the praise from Mikey, even if Mikey was giving her a bit too much credit.
"Seriously Izuku, you should consider this a win. Especially since you are still inexperienced, at least compared to us" Ralph complimented Izuku.
"Seriously dude, you looked like All-Might out there" Mikey's statement triggered something in Izuku. Izuku seemingly went into a daze and couldn't hear what was happening around her. The name of the man who was once her mentor continued to replay in her head. Izuku gripped her head with both hands as the scene that lead her here replayed in her head
"I-I have made my decision. Izuku, please give me back One For All so I can give it to Mirio"
"Izuku, you good?" Donnie asked as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
"ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME, ALL-MIGHT BETRAYED ME." Izuku could only think about how her former master backstabbed her, betrayed her trust all because of some jackass who thought she wasn't ready, how her mentor trusted some-some nobody over her. She nearly died stopping the fucking hero killer and reward was losing her fucking quirk.
As Donnie tried to get a better look at Izuku the reptilian girl's eyes were quickly glazed over in white, in a fashion he had only seen with one other mutant. Donnie's eyes widened in horror as Izuku roared, a roar Donnie also horrifyingly remembered from the other crocodilian mutant they know. Izuku lunged at Mikey, with the two being thrown out of the Shellraiser and onto the subway tracks. Leo quickly hit the brakes on the Shellraiser as Mikey quickly gained some distance from Izuku who immediately got up and began crawling on all fours.
"Crap, she's going full Letherhead" Mikey thought to himself as he began to slowly back away from his friend, who was walking towards him. Mikey immediately tried to defuse the situation "hey-hey Izuku I'm sorry for mentioning your old master but uh, how-how about we got back to the lair and grab some pizza how about-." Mikey didn't get to finish as Izuku roared and lunged for the turtle once more, her jaw opened wide to try and bite Mikey. Mikey was about to dodge when a garbage ball was launched into Izuku and sent her crashing backwards.
Leo and Donnie quickly ran up to Mikey and took battle stances "Mikey, what did you do?" Leo asked, less so accusing Mikey and more so in genuine confusion.
"I think mentioning All-Might might've set her off," Donnie said as Izuku tossed the garbage ball to the side and roared once again.
"YA THINK" Ralph yelled, the cannon of the Shellraiser still pointed at Izuku as she charged for the three turtles. Mikey thanked whatever god had blessed him right now as it seemed Izuku wasn't using One For All in her rage. Ralph fired off three shots with the cannon but Izuku dodged the first two and used her tail to send the third right back into the cannon, jamming it shut.
"HERE SHE COMES" Leo yelled as Izuku jumped into the air once again, her right hand reeled back into a punch. Leo, Mikey and Donnie all dodged Izuku's fist which formed a hole into the ground when it made impact. She locked eyes with Mikey before grabbing the turtle's leg, her claws digging into the turtle's leg. Mikey didn't get time to scream before he lifted him high into the air and slammed him into the ground.
"MIKEY" Leo yelled as he quickly hopped onto her back and placed her into a chokehold. Izuku was going to use her right arm to get Leo off but Donnie turned his bowstaff into its chain form and wrapped it around that arm before latching the other end into the wall. Izuku roared with rage as Ralph exited the Shellraiser and grabbed Izuku's remaining arm. Izuku, thinking on instinct, did the only thing she could think of to get Leo off of her. She opened her jaw, her razor sharp teeth shining in the Shellraiser's headlights-
And bite his arm.
Leo screamed in pain as Izuku chucked the turtle off of her back. She pulled her left arm inwards and headbutted Ralph, forcing him to let go. Just as Izuku was about to tear off Donnie's staff that was trapping her remaining arm, two cables shot out from the shellraiser and zapped Izuku with roughly 100,000 volts of electricity, making her scream in agony. Leo could've sworn he saw her skeleton whilst she was getting zapped.
When the zap ended, Izuku's body had smoke coming off of it before she went limp and collapsed onto her back. Leo, got up off the ground, gripping the arm that got bit by Izuku before walking over to his friend. Leo tapped Izuku's body, only to get no reaction aside from some steady breathing. Leo sighed in relief that it was over as Donnie came running out of the Shellraiser.
"I might have overdone it" Donnie spoke as he turned his staff back into its base form. Ralph got up off the ground, a visible wound where he got hit in the face by Izuku.
"When the shell did you add TASERS to the Shellraiser?" Ralph asked the second most obvious question at the moment as Donnie placed his staff onto his back.
"Last night, Izuku and I added them after watching some action movies with vehicles like the Shellraiser. I had to jerry rig a trigger as we never got to install one before the mission came up." Donnie said as Mikey leaned up from the ground, groaning in response. Ralph walked over his little brother, offering him a hand up.
"Thanks bro" Mikey said as he gripped his side in pain.
"Ah don't mention it. Now onto the big question." Ralph quickly slapped Mikey upside the head "THE SHELL DID YOU DO TO PISS HER OFF MIKEY"
"I wouldn't be so quick to blame him, Ralph. Besides, for all we know I set her off." Donnie countered his brother as he and Leo carried Izuku's body and placed it into the Shellraiser. The four brothers quickly got into the Shellraiser before driving off to the lair.
SOME TIME LATER
The first thing Izuku felt when she woke up was pain.
Izuku groined as she sat up from the inside of Donnie's lab, gripping her head in pain. Izuku had the worst migraine she had ever had in her life. Honestly it kinda felt like she got zapped really hard by Kaminari.
"Oh thank god you're alright" Izuku turned to her right to see Donnie walking over to her. From her position she could see the others had injuries on them -which didn't make sense, they didn't have them when they left, did they?- as they two walked over to her. Leo had a few bandages around his left arm, Ralph had an ice pack over his head and Mikey had some bandages over his leg. April, Casey and Splinter were also inside the lab as well but they were unharmed, bringing even further questions into her mind. "You've been out for the past hour or so, you doing okay?"
Izuku gripped her head as she asked "the heck did I miss?" Donnie passed her a bottle of water and some advil. She tossed the pills into her mouth before chugging down the whole bottle. "Thanks Donnie, though seriously what happened whilst I was out"
"You kicked our shells in," Ralph said before getting elbowed by April.
Donnie just glared at Ralph before turning to Izuku "what he means Izuku, was that you-uh-how do I put this without sounding like an ass-you kind of went on a blind rage and attacked us. The injuries we had are from you." Izuku just blinked at Donnie before she gripped her head in pain, flashes of events in the tunnel became a bit clearer.
"Oh-oh my god I'm-I'm so sorry" a few tears rolled down Izuku's face as she fully realized what she had done, covering her face with her hands in shame. The turtles had taken her in and had seen to keeping her safe, not to mention all the additional training they gave her out of the goodness of her heart. What's the first thing she does on her first mission? Attacks the only people she can currently even call friends.
'Some hero you turned out to be, you deku' Izuku's voice called out in her head. 'You don't deserve their kindness, much less their forgiveness. You should've jumped off that roof when you had the chance.' Maybe it was right, maybe she should've killed herself tha–
"Young Izuku" Splinter's voice cut through her thoughts as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Whilst it is true you attacked my sons, those actions were out of your control. I do not want you blaming yourself for this accident." Splinter took his hand off Izuku's shoulder and wiped the tears off the left side of her face. "I want you to take this as a lesson to grow and become stronger, to overcome this shortcoming and ."
Leo chimed in, hoping to cheer Izuku up a bit more. "Yeah it's fine, besides we've dealt with worse. Plus it just goes to show how unprepared we are to fight someone with a quirk. Not to mention we'd probably be in jail had it not been for you stopping Maverick when you did."
Izuku wiped the tears from her face "yeah-yeah I guess you're right. I'm sorry about it, I promise you all it won't happen again."
"That's the spirits" Ralph complimented "now c'mon lets get some pizza."
"SHELL YEAH" Mikey thrusted his arms into the air as all the teenagers (minus Donnie) in the room walked out of the lab with Splinter staying behind.
"Do you believe she can control it, Master Splinter?" Donnie asked his father.
"Whilst I am unsure if she will be capable of controlling it like Leatherhead did. However if our time with Izuku has taught me anything, then she will as well." Splinter began to walk out of the lab with Donnie behind him.
"We should probably catch up with the others, I'd rather not have our food eaten by Mikey" Donnie spoke, causing Splinter to chuckle. The two of them moved out of the lair, and saw the rest of the teens squabbling with one another over what pizza to get, Izuku standing off to the side. Splinter frowned, he hated the thought of Izuku blaming herself over a complete accident that wasn't even her fault. As much as he was hoping the girl would learn that, he had serious doubts that she would give up her stubborn nature.
As Donnie approached Izuku, he began to stroke his beard as a thought came to him, and a disturbing one at that. He had known people in the past who acted similarly to Izuku, the cause of which was usually some sort of abuse making them act skittish. Splinter doubted it was the girl's mother, Izuku spoke about how much she loved her mother. Granted she could be lying but he highly doubted it. Another option could be someone from his school life, primarily those from her elementary school- Aldera if his memory serves him right.
He also had a guess as to the culprit given a conversation he had with Izuku prior.
FLASHBACK
"I've been meaning to ask Izuku" Izuku turned to master Splinter, it was just the two of them in the dojo. "Your hero name, Deku, is primarily known for describing those in a derogatory way. Might I ask how it became your hero name?" There was an awkward silence as Izuku simply stared at Splinter, causing him to raise a brow at Izuku's sudden silence.
"Oh that, well Kachan wasn't exactly the nicest kid in his youth. As for it being my hero name, a friend of mine helped me see the name as it being a shorter version of 'dekiru' meaning you can do anything."
END OF FLASHBACK
Splinter had his doubts, but given how the nickname Izuku said that day had a similar start and letter count to a boy in her class. Well Splinter only hoped he was wrong in his assumption. Because if it was true that Izuku was indeed bullied and abused by the one called Katsuki Bakugou, then he would see that justice would be served.
