Bravo Team and Team 7 have successfully escaped from Western Russia. We now shift our focus to the US "intervention" (another word for invasion) of the Islamic Republic of Arabia in the Arabian Civil War between the remnants of the Arabian military, and the Lion's Sword, led by Khaled Al-Asad. Let's see what will happen.

P.S. During the beginning of chapters where the Marines are the main focus, think of the "War Pig" OST when reading until you see the title of the chapter/mission.

"It has been a day since the televised execution of deposed Arabian President Yasir Al-Fulani. US military forces stationed on high alert in the Persian Gulf have been given the order to assist Arabian military forces in what appears to be a full-scale civil war between the remnants of the Arabian military and the Lion's Sword militant organization. Al-Fulani's deposer, Khaled Al-Asad, leader of the Lion's Sword, conducted the high-profile execution personally on national television, accusing Al-Fulani of placing foreign interests ahead of those of his countrymen. While the exact time and location of the American operation have been withheld due to security reasons, the US Secretary of Defense stated that the forces deployed would be significant, and that Al-Asad would not be permitted to further destabilize the region through military expansionism," a female news caster for the BBC news reported.

With the death of Yasir Al-Fulani, the Lion's guard had conquered half of the Islamic Republic of Arabia, including the capital city of Riyadh and the cities of Mecca and Medina, the two most holy cities of Islam. Since the Arabian military wasn't prepared to fight a full-scale civil war, they had requested aid from the United States to help push back against the Lion's Sword.

The President of the United States had authorized the Department of Defense to use whatever assets deemed necessary to remove Khaled Al-Asad from power. The US military immediately began to strike at Lion's Sword targets to soften up resistance for their invasion. This would compose of assets of the US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, under the command of US Army Lieutenant General Hershel von Shepherd III (AN: I don't know Shepherd's real name. I just looked it up and it showed me the result on the villain fandom wiki. Correct me if I'm wrong).

Currently, a fleet of aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships, destroyers, and other US Navy ships were off the coast of the town of Khafji, Arabia where elements of the recently reactivated USMC's 1st Force Recon company were taking off from aircraft carriers on US Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. Normally because of branch rivalry, the Army and Marines wouldn't dare work together because it would insult each other's pride. But when shit got serious, they would swallow their pride, follow orders, and work together to get the job done. The objective was to secure the town of Khafji and use it as one of a few staging grounds to launch further attacks against the Lion's Sword. While the other platoons would secure parts of the town, 1st platoon, callsign Red Dog, was tasked with a special objective.

Over the radio was chatter of multiple voices, either giving status updates or orders. 1st platoon's commanding officer, Lieutenant Romeo Vasquez, affectionately known by his men as "Papa Bear" because of his deep voice and burly strength, came on the radio to inform his unit of their current assignment.

"Marines! Spotters have a possible fix on Al-Asad in a building at the West end of this town. We're gonna secure the perimeter and grab Al-Asad. Oorah? Lock and load!" Vasquez said loudly over the radio due to the chopper blades.

"OORAH!" the Marines in the helicopter boomed with much enthusiasm.

Khafji, Islamic Republic of Arabia

Sergeant Paul Jackson

1st Force Recon Co., USMC

Sergeant Paul Jackson looked out of the UH-60 Blackhawk that was carrying him and his fellow Marines. He could see 14 other Army Blackhawks in formation to assault the town of Khafji to capture Al-Asad. It was sort of nice to see the Army and Marines not butt heads with each other from time to time. They were coming up on some oil rigs off the coast. Hopefully the Tomahawk cruise missiles the destroyers fired destroyed most of the air defenses so the choppers didn't end up in another Blackhawk Down situation in an urban environment.

"Shoreline coming into view."

"Copy, Striker 6-4," replied an AH-1Z Viper pilot. The AH-1Z being the latest variant of the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter, but some people still call the AH-1Z "Cobra" out of respect for the gunship that served in Vietnam.

"Feet dry in 10 seconds."

"Copy."

Jackson pulled out his M4A1 carbine and pulled back the charging handle, getting a round in the chamber ready to fire when needed. Usually, most Marines would be equipped with standard issue M16A4 assault rifles; however, since they'll be assaulting a town in close spaces, a majority of the assault force was equipped with M4A1s. Jackson's M4A1 was equipped with an EOTech holographic sight, a laser sight, and an M203 grenade launcher. His sidearm was a MEU(SOC) M45 pistol, a modern variant of the legendary M1911 pistol. Even though it only held 7 rounds in its magazine like its predecessor, it felt comfortable in Jackson's hands as he would make up for it with its .45 ACP stopping power, good accuracy, and the 12 spare magazines that he somehow managed to get for his pistol. Speaking of spare magazines, because they were assaulting an enemy town, the Marines were told to double up on ammo. So instead of the usual 210 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO usually carried on patrol, they doubled to 420 rounds; all of them held in 30 round magazines. To add to Jackson's arsenal were 4 M67 fragmentation grenades, 4 M84 flashbang grenades, and 2 M18A1 claymore anti-personnel mines. A few of the Marines still had their M16A4s with them in case they needed some extra range. Lieutenant Vasquez's M16A4 was equipped with a Trijicon ACOG scope, a laser sight, and an M203 grenade launcher, similar to Jackson's attachments.

As they came up to the town, they started to take fire from Lion's Sword forces at the docks attempting to shoot down the incoming American helicopters.

"Taking fire here," Striker 6-4 notified.

"Roger that. We've got RPGs down there."

As they were flying over the buildings, Striker 6-4 passed over a road where a technical with a heavy machine gun was firing at the choppers. They flew by a building where a Lion's Sword soldier fired an RPG, but just missed the chopper by a hair.

"Shit that was close!" Striker 6-4 exclaimed.

They fly further into the town.

"Got a visual on the target." Said target building was in sight. The Blackhawks begin to slow down as they prepare to deploy their troops via fast rope. "Five seconds." The Blackhawks stop flying and begin to hover; ropes coming from either side of each helicopter. "Standby for greenlight." They give the go-ahead.

"Down the ropes! Go, go!" Vasquez roars. Jackson follows a Marine down the rope as they descend to the ground. They got down on the ground and scanned the area for any immediate threats. When no hostiles were seen, they immediately began to move out to the target building.

"2nd squad on me to the target building, move!" Vasquez ordered. On their way to the target building, they could see multiple Marines setting barricades of barbed wire to limit the amount of enemy foot mobiles that could potentially reinforce the target building. "Move it, move it! Set up the blocking positions! Let's go!"

They managed to reach the target building. 2nd squad consisted of Jackson, Specialists Massey, Harris, and Stevens, Corporals Jones, Park, and Miller, and Privates West, Lopez, Gaines, Zhau, Nelson, and Gilberts. In the corner of his eye, Jackson could see another team of Marines securing the road and the front door to the building. 2nd squad would enter the building through the side door.

"There's the target building!" Vasquez said in his signature deep, rough voice. "Left side door breach! Stack up!"

Vasquez, Massey, Jackson, Zhau, Jones, and Gilberts stacked up on the left side of the door. Massey, being the breaching specialist of the squad, broke from the stack to place a breaching charge on the door handle. Massey put aside his M4A1 and pulled out his M1014 semi-automatic combat shotgun as he got back in the stack formation. While not a useful weapon in most circumstances, and in many cases unusable, in a close quarters environment such as the building they were assaulting, it could be useful as a support and breaching weapon.

"Blow the charge," Vasquez ordered. Massey pressed the detonator, and the door was blown clean off in a controlled explosion.

"Breaching, breaching!"

"Go, go, go!"

Vasquez and Massey took down two confused tangos with ease. "Clear!" Massey declares. Jackson, Zhau, Jones and Gilberts poured in. The rest of 2nd squad stayed outside the building to provide security.

"Jackson, take point," Vasquez orders.

"Yes sir," Jackson responds. Jackson carefully goes down the stairs. He makes down to the bottom of the stairs do an opening in the door. Jackson peeked his head out the door to see 4 Lion's Sword soldiers overlooking a line of tables with multiple AK-47s, AK-74s, some attached with GP-25/GP-30 grenade launchers attached to them, AKS-74U carbines, Dragunov semi-automatic sniper rifles, Winchester Model 1200 shotguns, RPG-7 rocket launchers, and Beretta M9 pistols. They were speaking in Arabic, potentially preparing said weapons to be handed to any Lion's Sword soldiers to fight the invading American forces. Behind them was a TV playing a speech given by Khaled Al-Asad, the one he gave before he executed Yasir Al-Fulani. Jackson turns his head back to see the rest of 2nd squad stacked up behind him.

"Jackson, SITREP," Vasquez whispered.

"At least 4 tangos inside overlooking weapons on the tables, sir," Jackson replied in a soft voice so as not to alert the Lion's Sword soldiers.

"Roger, prepare to breach on my signal," Vasquez ordered as he prepared to lob a grenade into the room. Vasquez pulled the pin on the grenade and threw it inside. The Lion's Sword soldiers inside panicked as they scrambled to get into cover. The grenade exploded 3 seconds later.

"Go, go, go!" Vasquez barked. They poured into the room eliminating the tangos that survived. Jackson removed a frag grenade of his own and tossed it in the doorway of a corner room. He pulled out his M4A1 and fired at a Lion's Sword soldier trying to escape the room from the grenade. The grenade exploded and took out a few soldiers that were unfortunate to be in the room. The squad stacked up on another door.

"Jackson, throw a flashbang," Vasquez ordered. Jackson nodded as he prepared a flashbang. He pulled the pin and tossed it into the next room. The flashbang went off blinding any tangos in it. The squad quickly poured into the room and eliminated any hostiles. After clearing each room of tangos, they quickly secured the basement.

"Red Dog 6, this is Red Dog 3, 3rd squad is entering the target building, securing the upper floors, over."

"Understood, 3. Red Dog 6 out," Vasquez responded on the radio. 3rd squad was one of the three squads that made up 1st platoon. Rapid gunfire could be heard from the upper floors. Jackson and Zhau went and cleared out two Lion's Sword soldiers in what looked like a barracks in the basement.

"Clear!" Zhau declared.

"Red Dog 6, Red Dog 3, upper floors secure."

"All callsigns, check the bodies," Vasquez ordered on the radio, "We need a positive ID on Al-Asad."

Jackson checked one of the Lion's Sword soldiers he just killed. The guy looked like an officer with a red beret, similar to Al-Asad's. However, the guy was too young and too short to be him. Plus, he didn't have a beard, or at least a big enough one that Al-Asad would wear.

"Not him sir," Jackson told Vasquez.

"Negative ID over here sir."

"No sign of Al-Asad sir."

"No sign of him on the upper floors, over."

"Son of a bitch," Vasquez muttered before turning on his radio, "Overlord, this is Red Dog 6. Target building is secure, but we don't have Al-Asad, over."

"Roger that, Red Dog 6. We've just received new intel that Al-Asad is broadcasting at a TV station half a click East of your position. Proceed on foot and take down the package there, over," Overlord responded. Overlord being the callsign of the US military command for the duration of the US intervention.

"Roger that, Overlord. Red Dog 6 out," Vasquez said before turning to his men, "Alright Marines, you heard him. We're gonna move out on foot to the TV station and secure Al-Asad. Oorah?"

"Oorah!" was his response. Vasquez, Jackson, Massey, Zhau, Jones and Gilberts headed up the stairs and regrouped with the rest of 2nd squad. While they did so, 3rd squad came out of the building as well. 3rd squad consisted of Sergeant Mara Ortega, Corporals Naomi "Manta Ray" Mizushima, Alexa "Urban Tracker" Turner, and Jennifer "Alias" Lowe, and Privates Joanne "Sliver" Mitchell, Denise "Rampage" Michaels, Carly Spokes, Erica "Shadow" Miles, Millie "Cowgirl" Daniels, Hannah Beach, Tammy Davison, Izzy Rider, and Hisakata "Sightseer" Hyuga (AN: more on her later). 3rd squad was affectionately nicknamed the "Ballbuster" squad, since every single member of 3rd squad was female, and that no guy has successfully attempted to date at least one of them. But they proved their salt by being very capable warriors on the battlefield. They were hand selected by Mara and Vasquez themselves.

They headed down an alley only to see parts of the barbed wire barricades blown off with seven dead Marines strewn about. They must've gotten ambushed. They turned to see what looked to be the survivors of the ambushed squad being pinned down by Lion's Sword soldiers from ruined stone building. Vasquez fired a grenade from his M203 at their position, and it took out most of the enemy soldiers. The rest of the squad took down the rest with their rifles.

"Contact, over by orange car!" Manta Ray called out. She could see two Lion's Sword soldiers taking cover by a car on the other side of the building. She raised her M4A1 and fired at the two enemy tangos. Manta Ray's M4A1 was equipped with a Trijicon ACOG, a laser sight, and a foregrip. Her side arm was a brand new USP .45 Tactical with an LAM attached to it. This made the guys in Red Dog slightly jealous as all members of 3rd squad had managed to get their hands on a batch of new USP .45s the Marine Corps had acquired for further testing in attempt to supplement or replace the M45 pistol with something more modern.

With all hostiles in the immediate area down for now, Vasquez went to the sergeant in charge of the squad that got ambushed.

"Sergeant, give me a SITREP. What the hell happened here?"

"We got ambushed by enemy infantry while trying to hold this position," the sergeant said shakingly, "Took out half of the squad. There's just the six of us left."

Vasquez looked around for a moment, "Alright here's the plan. 2nd squad, we'll take the left flank. 3rd squad, cover the right. We'll hoof it to the TV station and grab Al-Asad." He turned to the surviving Marine squad. "You guys hold this position. Armor support will be here on the way; ETA 10 mikes."

"Roger."

"1st platoon, move out!" Vasquez barked.

"Oorah!" With that 2nd and 3rd squads moved through the OpFor infested town. The streets were crawling with Lion's Sword soldiers, and in an urban environment, even bombed out buildings can make for great ambush positions. 2nd squad was moving down the left flank on the street, watching and eliminating any enemy soldiers that showed up, using whatever cover they could use.

3rd squad was moving through a pseudo-maze of sheet metal structures on the right flank. Hisakata would occasionally use her senses to help her squad detect enemies around them.

"Byakugan," Hisakata said as she activated the kekkei genkai, or bloodline limit, which was unique to the Hyuga clan. She picked up about 9 hostiles about to come out of an alley dead ahead of them. "Sergeant, 9 tangos 12 o'clock in front of us behind the sheet metal wall coming out of the alley."

"Copy that," Mara replied, "Alpha team, go around to the right and ambush them."

"Roger," Manta Ray replied. Manta Ray, Hisakata, Shadow, Spokes flanked around to the right and unloaded their magazines on the unsuspecting Lion's Sword soldiers.

"Hostiles eliminated," Shadow confirmed.

They continued to fight their way through the streets. All the while they saw helicopters providing close air support for other Marines fighting in the town, as well as AV-8B Harrier jets flying overhead making attack runs on enemy positions. They made their way through to a road where another squad of Marines was pinned down by hostiles on the other side of the street being supported by an enemy technical with a heavy machine gun attached to it, possibly the one that tried to shoot down the chopper Jackson was in.

"We're pinned down!" exclaimed one of the Marines. Just as soon as he said it, two Marines had been struck in the head by the gunner manning the heavy machine gun; their helmets doing little to stop a .50 caliber projectile.

"Shit! Davis and Thompson are down!" the same Marine exclaimed.

"Keep your heads down!" Jackson ordered.

The technical started driving off in a different direction to hunt down for other targets, but 1st platoon was still pinned down from the Lion's Sword soldiers positioned on top of a ruined building.

"Ortega, take Urban Tracker and get up on the roof of the building next to us!" Vasquez ordered to Mara, "We'll lay down covering fire while you two hit them from their flank!"

"Roger that, Papa Bear," Mara replied, "Tracker, on me!"

"Yes, ma'am!" Urban Tracker replied.

They snuck around the side of the building up some stairs while the rest laid down suppressing fire on the enemy position. Once they made it to the roof, Urban Tracker aimed down the Trijicon ACOG scope of her M16A4, also equipped with a laser and a foregrip. She then took well-aimed, precise shots at the enemy positions. Urban Tracker was pretty much 3rd squad's designated sharpshooter. She would rather take a full length M16A4 than an M4A1 carbine, and even then, she wished she had her M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS), but it was in the ship's armory waiting to get some replacement parts. Until then, she made do with her standard service weapon. As she continued to hit the Lion's Sword from their flank, she saw distinctive visible lines that indicated tracer rounds being fired upon the Lion's Sword soldiers' position by one of the gunners from one of the many helicopters that were flying all over. She silently thanked them for the air support. But her thanks were interrupted when they heard the familiar sound of a pick-up truck with a machine gun in the back. The technical from earlier was coming back out from the alley straight at them.

"The technical's coming back!" exclaimed Manta Ray.

"Shoot the fucking driver!" Vasquez ordered. Everyone opened fire on the technical. The driver of said vehicle was unlucky enough to get caught in a hail of bullets, as he slumped over from multiple gunshot wounds on the steering wheel, causing the technical to swerve around until it lost control and flipped over. The machine gunner in the back was not so fortunate as well, as he too had been caught in the bullet rainstorm. Not only that, but he also fell out of the back of the technical once it started swerving out of control. The victorious moment was interrupted when a BMP-2 came crashing through some road barricades.

"BMP! Take cover!" Mara shouted as she spotted it from the roof. Mara and Urban Tracker quickly got off the roof right before the BMP fired its 30mm cannon at their position where it spotted them. The rest of the Marines fell back into cover so they wouldn't get shredded by the BMP's weapons.

"Miller, flank around and hit it with AT4!" Vasquez barked.

"Roger!" Miller responded. Some of the Marines that had been equipped with smoke grenades had decided that now was the time to use them. They popped a few smoke grenades to hide Miller's movements. Miller had gotten to a suitable vantage point, aimed down the sights of his AT4 rocket launcher, and fired. In a matter of seconds, the BMP-2 erupted in flames.

"BMP's down! Nice shot Miller!" Jackson congratulated Miller.

"All in a day's work, Jackson," Miller replied as he tossed away the now empty tube.

"All clear! Move up and watch the alleys!" Vasquez ordered. 2nd and 3rd squads moved out across the road with the surviving Marine squad.

"3rd squad, these guys with you and go down the left alley. 2nd squad on me, we'll cover the right flank," Vasquez ordered.

"Roger," Mara replied as she took her squad along with the surviving Marines from earlier. "Ballbusters, on me!"

"Oorah!" the members of 3rd squad replied. They moved up clearing hostiles, moving past a bombed out building with a crater in the middle. 2nd squad clears out the right flank of the building, with Jackson popping a grenade from his M203 into a building with Lion's Sword soldiers, one of them carrying an RPD light machine gun. 2nd and 3rd squads rendezvoused at another alley that led to the TV station.

"Target building in sight," Vasquez said.

They met up with the lieutenant of another platoon.

"We've got the TV station locked down and surrounded, sir," the lieutenant informed.

"Good. 2nd and 3rd squads, get in positions to breach," Vasquez ordered his platoon then turned to the Marine squad that came with them. "Hold this position with 3rd platoon. Armor support will be landing in about 4 mikes. Don't let anyone in or out of the building."

"Yes sir," the sergeant of the squad replied. They took off to set up a holding position. Jackson looked at the alley they just exited and had a suspicious feeling.

"Lieutenant," Jackson said to Vasquez, "I'm gonna set up my claymores in case enemy reinforcements come down the alley."

"Do it but make it quick."

"Roger that," Jackson replied. He took out his claymores and placed them in strategic positions in the parking lot near the alley way entrance.

"Claymores set," Jackson notified Vasquez. Jackson fell in with the rest of the platoon at the back of the building. 2nd squad was lined up at the door while 3rd squad was setting a perimeter around the door keeping an eye out for hostiles.

"Red Dog 6, this is Red Dog 5, 1st squad is entering the TV station basement, over."

"Copy that 5, we're preparing to breach the rear of the building, out," Vasquez responded on the radio. He nodded at Massey. Massey carefully went up to the door and placed another breaching charge on the door handle before getting back in line. He pulled out his shotgun again.

"Do it!" Vasquez gave the order. Massey hit the detonator, and the charge blew off the door.

"Breaching, breaching!"

"Go, go, go!"

Vasquez and Massey entered but found no hostiles. However, they did hear voices shouting in Arabic further into the building. Vasquez took point and killed a Lion's Sword soldier with a 3-round burst to the chest. Jackson and Massey went down the right hallway where Vasquez killed the lone tango, followed by Mara, Manta Ray, Hisakata, Zhau, Lopez and Gaines. The rest followed Vasquez down the left hallway. They made their way to a computer room where they started taking fire from enemy soldiers from the server room. They push their way to the server room. Massey taking out a few with his M1014 shotgun and Jackson taking out the remaining with his M45 pistol after his M4A1 ran out of ammo.

"Server room, clear!" Jackson informed as he reloaded his pistol and rifle. They moved on to the main room of the TV station.

"Open room, keep your eyes peeled," Mara told them. Indeed, the main room of the TV station was a big room with cubicles, computers, TVs, phones, and other office assortments. On the other side of the room was a 2nd floor balcony that overlooked the first floor. It was a perfect ambush position. Hisakata activated her Byakugan as she had an uneasy feeling that they were walking into a trap. Her instincts were right as she could see hostiles approaching on the 2nd floor balcony with RPGs.

"RPGs, 2nd floor balcony!" Hisakata exclaimed.

Just as she said that Lion's Sword soldiers started pouring in. Everyone ran to find some sort of cover and a massive firefight ensued inside the main room of the TV station. During the chaos, Miller got hit twice. One in the back of his body armor, the second on his right arm. Spokes quickly attended to his wounds. Thankfully, the plate took the bullet, so Miller didn't suffer any injuries to his back. Urban Tracker quickly took out the RPG wielders on the 2nd floor as soon as she entered the room. Jackson, West, Manta Ray, and Zhau were clearing some of the offices connected to the left side of the main room.

The Marines were making progress through the main room as they started thinning out the Lion's Sword soldiers on the ground floor. Any resistance on the balcony was quickly put down as well so no one could fire RPGs down at the Marines. They quickly put down the last remaining Lion's Sword soldiers.

"Room clear! Move up! Al-Asad should be on the 2nd floor!" Vasquez barked. They rallied behind Vasquez as he opened the door to the TV station lobby and scanned it for any hostiles. As they entered the lobby, they noticed two M1 Abrams tanks rolling down the road next to the TV station. They managed to get the tanks ashore along with the other armored vehicles.

"Yeah, there goes our boys," said Massey.

"Oorah," Jackson replied.

"Ooo-rah," Gilberts replied as well.

They spread out throughout the lobby searching for any hostiles. Thankfully, there weren't any.

"Hold your fire! Friendlies coming out!" came a voice on the radio. A few seconds later, the owner of the voice, Staff Sergeant Marcus Griggs, along with 1st squad of 1st platoon came out. The whole platoon was finally back together. Griggs walked up to Vasquez to give him an update.

"No sign of Al-Asad in the basement, sir," Griggs told Vasquez.

"All right," Vasquez accepted begrudgingly, "Fall in, Marines. Stay frosty."

They moved up some stairs to a break room with windows that overlooked the parking lot. They saw the Marine platoon providing security around the TV station engage in a firefight from Lion's Sword soldiers coming out of the alley. The claymores that Jackson placed earlier took out a few, but they still kept coming.

"1st and 3rd squads, set up here and give our guys some fire support! Harmer, Glenn, get the M240 Golf up and lay down suppressing fire! Griggs and 2nd squad, on me! We're gonna move on to the newsroom and grab the target!" Vasquez ordered his platoon.

"Roger that," Mara replied before getting on the radio, "3rd platoon, Red Dog will give fire support from the roof of the TV building."

"Copy."

Vasquez, Griggs, and 2nd squad headed up the stairs to the roof of the third floor. Massey took point with his M1014 with Jackson, Griggs, Vasquez, and the rest of 2nd squad behind him. They made it to the roof and found no hostiles. As they crossed the roof, a pair of AV-8B Harrier jets flew overhead by about a few dozen feet.

"Geez, can those damn jets make us any deafer than all the explosions going on?" Grigg asked without hiding his sarcasm.

"Nice to see that your sense of humor ain't changed much, Griggs," Jackson chuckled.

"All right, can it you two," Vasquez told them.

They enter the hallway to the broadcasting room. They could hear Al-Asad's voice coming from the other side of the door.

"I think he's in there. I hear him," Griggs whispered on the radio. They stack up on the door.

"Do it!" Vasquez ordered. Massey shot off the door hinges with his shotgun and kicked the door down.

They quickly poured into the room one by one.

"Clear!"

"Clear."

"Clear…?" Jackson said confused. The room was completely empty.

"Room clear, he's not here," Zhau pointed out.

Miller walked over to the sound studio of the broadcasting room to find a disc player connected to the equipment. It was replaying Al-Asad's speech on a loop.

"It's on a loop," Miller told Vasquez, "The broadcast is a recording sir."

Jackson was pissed, so pissed that he kicked over one of the TVs that was in the room. It smashed as it hit the ground. It cooled down his temper, but not by much.

"Yeah… score one for military intelligence," Griggs said sarcastically. He was right though. If all the intel they got was going to lead them on wild goose chases, then God help the US military.

"Griggs, turn that shit off," Vasquez told Griggs after getting tired of hearing Al-Asad's voice on the now discovered recorded broadcast.

"Roger that, I got something better anyway," Griggs replied as he turned off Al-Asad's broadcast and put in a CD. It started playing the song Church by Sean Price (not related to our beloved Captain Price).

"Marcus, you still carrying that CD?" Jackson asked him.

"Yeah, oorah," Griggs said as he was nodding his head towards the song's rhythm. Jackson just shook his head. Griggs might have some taste in music that could be questioned, but he did always find a way to brighten the mood.

Vasquez turned on his radio, "Overlord, this is Red Dog 6, TV station is secure. No sign of Al-Asad. The broadcast is a recording."

It was a few seconds of silence before Overlord came back on the radio.

"Understood Red Dog 6. Marines are securing the rest of the town. The Lion's Sword is in retreat. Al-Asad may have slipped out with them. Rendezvous at rally point Hotel and get ready to move out with the task force in 60 mikes. Overlord out."

1st platoon rallied up in the lobby soon after. Vasquez spoke up, "All right Marines let's take a quick breather and get our gear sorted out. We'll move out in about 30 mikes and meet with the convoy at rally point Hotel. Oorah?"

"Oorah," was the response from the rest of the platoon.

They dispersed to clean their weapons and sort out their gear. Jackson was checking his gear. He had about 6 spare magazines left for his rifle, 7 spare magazines for his pistol, and 5 40mm grenades for his M203. He used up both of his claymores and was down to 2 grenades and 2 flashbangs. Hopefully they could get a resupply once supply lines could be set up. Once he got his weapons sorted out, he pulled out his MRE. Even though they had breakfast earlier, after all the shit that happened today, he deserved a little lunch break.

"Spaghetti and Meat Sauce," Jackson thought as he dug in, "not as good as Mom's, but it'll do."

"Mind if we join you?"

His thoughts were interrupted as Manta Ray and Hisakata stood in front of him.

"By all means, go right ahead," Jackson replied.

Manta Ray and Hisakata sat down across from Jackson and pulled out their own MREs. Manta Ray had the "Chicken with Noodles" MRE while Hisakata had "Chili and Macaroni".

As they ate, Jackson asked, "So any reason why 1st platoon's two most badass kunoichi wanted to join me for lunch before we hit our next objective?"

It was no secret in 1st platoon that Manta Ray and Hisakata were descendants of shinobi from the Elemental Nations; Hisakata was a descendant of the Hyuga clan from the Village Hidden in the Leaves, and Manta Ray was descended from shinobi that deserted the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Their ancestors had had some disagreements with their clan and their Raikage respectively, so they escaped and headed for the United States in search of a better life. They had kept some of their ninja techniques to pass down to their descendants. As such they became unofficial kunoichi not affiliated with any of the other hidden shinobi villages. But as soon as they signed up for the Marine Corps, being ninjas was a secondary occupation. This was because they swore an oath that they were Marines first, ninjas second. It was ironic that Manta Ray, Jackson, Hisakata both signed up for the Marine Corps together, considering all three were childhood friends.

"Well for one we just wanted to bug you," Manta Ray teased as she ate her lunch.

"And also, because we were concerned about your wellbeing," Hisakata pointed out.

Jackson sighed in defeat, "All right girls, you got me. I'm just pissed that we didn't get our target."

"Hey, don't beat yourself up Paul," Manta Ray reassured, "We did our best, ok? We'll get that son of a bitch."

Jackson paused for a second before speaking up, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"I always am."

"Uh-huh," Hisakata doubted, "Just like that time in Afghanistan where you thought we hit a weapons cache, only to find a bunch of barrels of gunpowder and you were stupid enough to drop a lighter in it."

Manta Ray did a spit take as she drank some water out of her canteen. Jackson chuckled as he remembered that little incident.

"I thought we agreed never to talk about that again?!" Manta Ray glared at Hisakata.

"Ok, you two," Jackson calmed them down, "Let's finish up and get ready to move out."

They ate the rest of their lunch in silence. They always did have a way of cheering him up. They got their gear and got ready to move out.

When they got to the convoy Vasquez gathered them around, "All right Marines, we got a new assignment. We're heading South to join the with the Arabian Army in retaking the capital city. Let's move out, oorah?"

"OORAH!"

They each got into different LAV-25 Infantry Fight Vehicles (IFVs).

"Don't go dying on me, big brother, oorah?" Hisakata said to Jackson as she playfully hit his left shoulder lightly before walking towards her designated IFV.

"Fucking hell," Jackson muttered as he watched her walk off.

"Jackson, you coming or are you just gonna stare at her ass all day?" Griggs asked.

"Griggs, I swear to God…," Jackson said while Griggs just laughed his ass off. 1st platoon rode off with the convoy to conduct their next objective.

Oorah! There we go. That was a bit of a long chapter to write, wasn't it?

Also, yes, I put some of the operators from Call of Duty Mobile and Modern Warfare (2019) in this fic such as Mara and Marcus Griggs from MW 2019, and Manta Ray and Urban Tracker from Call of Duty Mobile.

Keep in mind it's still a crossover with MW: Remastered. I just had to make it more interesting.

Also, if you don't like that I made all of the members of 3rd squad female, then don't bother reading the rest of this story.

Speaking of 3rd squad, for every chapter that is mainly focusing on the Marines, I'll show the status of each member of 1st platoon so you, the readers (and by extension myself), can know who's alive and who's not.

As you can see, that's a lot to keep track of.

Back to Manta Ray and Hisakata for a minute. I know I already wrote a little explanation near the end of the chapter, and more will be revealed later on in the story. But what I can say is for Hisakata, her ancestors in the Hyuga clan had a disagreement with the elders after an affair between two members (you can guess) and so they left for the US. Manta Ray's family escaped from the Village Hidden in the Clouds in a similar fashion. Although from what I've read on the Naruto fandom wiki, and some of you Naruto fans out there will know, the Village Hidden in the Clouds has no shame in kidnapping ninjas from other villages just to boost their own power. Who knows, maybe in a future chapter I'll write about how the Raikage gets his ass whooped by Naruto. I still haven't decided if I wanna put a bullet through his brain. I still haven't gotten to that part of Naruto yet.

Well, see you in the next chapter.

PS: I may take a little break from this story to try and update some of my other stories.

Next time:

"Do you know what the names engraved in the clock tower are?"

"Why does it matter, loser?"

"Sasuke!"

"No, what are they?"

"The names of the dead."
