"Two weeks without an attack. Amazing!" Alexei cheered as he walked to the courtyard with the others. "We should enjoy this well we can."
"Don't get to execited Alexei, it just means he's planning something big." Kya said, but silently agreed with Alexei. In Xana's abesence, they've all been busy with other things. These peaceful days were needed.
"Don't ruin this for me." Alexei pouted. "This is my first free afternoon in weeks!"
Kya rolled her eyes. "This everyone's first free afternoon in weeks." She reminded him.
"Children calm down." Lynn greeted them, as they approached the bench he sat on. "We're all a bit antsy, since we haven't had any time to ourselves." Every afternoon, each one of them left directly for their after school activatives. They hadn't even had a chance to discuss what happened at the Hertimage or Emi's knowledge of the place.
"The important question is," Lynn paused for dramatic effect. "What are we going to do on this rare day off?"
"Movie martharon?" Alexei asked, hopeful.
"No." Kya and Lynn said in unison.
"When was the last time someone visited Emi?" Kya asked. "Let's head over to Kadic and surpise her."
Everyone but Cam agreed.
"I'm gonna head to the manison and check on the analysis." Cam turned to leave. "I'll meet up with you guys later."
As Cam left, everyone else headed for Kadic.
At Kadic:
Lynn's POV:
"Once we find Emi, we'll have enough time to make the _ showing of _." Alexei said, unware of Kya and I cringing.
"Calm down, Romeno." I slung my arm around Alexei's shoulder. "How about we ask Emi what she wants to do?"
"Yeah, not everyone likes watching movies as much as you." Kya smirked.
"Your just jealous of my awesome taste in movies." Alexei declared. "Only Emi can appericate my genius."
"Is that why she's been screaming every night?" Aelita and her friends approached us.
"What do you mean?" Kya asked, before I could.
"For two weeks straight Emi's been screaming each night." Aelita explained.
"Your overrating princess." Odd placed his hands in his pockets. "Emi already explained everything."
Aelita gave him a doubtful look. "You don't actually believe that story, do you?"
What's going on with Emi? She hasn't mentioned any thing about screaming. Could this be related to her visions?
"It's not that hard to believe, Aelita." Yumi interjected. "Have you seen the movies she watches?"
"Yeah," Ulrich agreed. "it's scary how bad they are."
"Hey!" Alexei chimed. "They are cintmatic master pieces." Leave it to him to miss the main point of this converstaion. When it comes to his movies, Alexei has a one track mind. Alexei's movie picks are usually a hit or a miss. Some of the movies he's suggested are really really good. Like, stop everything your doing and watch this now good. Other times, it's best to aviod them all together. These are the movies that are so bad, they make me want to actually spend time with Avery. And that's saying something.
"No Alexei, their really not." Kya gave Alexei a sympathic smile. "Back to Emi. Where is she?"
Odd shrugged, "She never came to our last class. We were looking for her before running into you guys."
This isn't like Emi. She's been so exiected living on Earth, that she's never been late or missed a class. Something must've happened to her. It couldn't be an attack through, Cam's system would've alerted us.
"Why are you guys here, anyway?" Ulrich asked. The way he said it was causal, but something told me he may have been suspection of us. I can't blame him. I would be too, if a group of students from another school randomly visited Kanna. We really don't have any reason to be at Kadic, other than to see Emi. Cam occsonailly visits Jemerie, but he's the only one with a friend other than Emi that attends Kadic.
"We're here to see Emi." Alexei answered.
"Well, she's not here." Yumi helpfully stated.
Kya rolled her eyes, "We can see that."
I don't know Yumi that well, but something tells me she won't back down if her and Kya get into an arugement.
"Emi isn't expecting us, we came to surpise her." I shot Kya a warning glare. We don't need to draw any attention to ourselves. We're already at a different school and we don't know where Emi is. If the teachers don't know about Emi's disappearence, I don't want to alert them to it. I also don't want Aelita and her friends to begin questioning us. As far as anyone knows, Kya is Emi's only family in the area. If she were to disappear, it would most likely be to find her 'cousin'.
"She probably went to Kanna to find Kya." I suggested.
"We haven't really been able to spend alot of time with her recently." Kya added, picking up on where I was going with this converstation. "It wouldn't be that unusal for her to pay me a visit. I did the same thing when I first transferred to Kanna. I would randomly visit Lynn."
Aelita and her friends shared a look with each other. They seemed to be having a silent converstaion. "It's still strange that she didn't tell anyone she was leaving. Epically before our last class." Aelita sure is presistant.
"Are you sure she didn't tell anyone? It's not impossblie no one to have heard her." Alexei rationalized.
Luckily, Kya's cell rung.
"Great timiing, "Kya said into the phone. "no one's seen Emi since her last class."
"That's because she's on Lyoko." Cam explained. "Somehow she vilterizaled herself."
Kya's eyes went wide at the news. The last thing she expected was for Emi to be on Lyoko. She mouthed to the guys 'mansion' and 'Lyoko', before returning to her call.
"Seems Cam has found Emi." Lynn drew all attention to himself. "They ran into each other at Kanna."
"Yup and we're going to go meet up with them." Alexei added. He than turned, along with Lynn and Kya, who was still on the phone, and left. They didn't stop running, until they were at the end of Kadic's schoo grounds.
Safe from prying ears, Kya resumed her converstation. "What's she doing on Lyoko? How did she get there? Is there an attack?"
"Calm down." Lynn took the phone from Kya. "How're things on Lyoko?"
Back in the mansion, a beeping on the screen signaled the apphorach of monsters. "Get to the manison fast. Xana's sen monsters." Cam hung up and contacted Emi. "Emi, there's a swarm of horents heading for you."
Emi glanced around, unsure of which direction to go. The path before her led to a deadend, the one behind the horents were on. This left the unknown one.
A laser whirled pass Emi's head. She let out a yelp, than dashed down the path. She continued forward, while the horents gave chase. To soon, the path ended in a giant circle. Emi stopped in front of a huge blounder in the center of the platform.
"Cam, I'm trapped." Emi looked around for something to defend herself with. The horents slowly closed in, backing Emi against the blounder. Fousced on the hornets, Emi didn't notice her hand go through the blounder. The next step back she took, Emi fell completely through the blounder.
Moments later the others arrived at the lab to find Cam frantically working. He switched the holo-map to different sectors, before leaving it on the forest sector.
"Have you found Emi?" Kya asked, as she stood behind Cam, looking at the screen.
"She was in the forest sector, than she disappeared." Cam explained.
"Disappeared?" Alexei asked, "How? She has to be in one of the sectors."
"Just head for the scanners. I'm sending you to Emi's last locations." Cam instrusted.
Lynn's POV:
"We're here, general." Alexei called as he investagted the blounder that sat in the middle of the platform.
"Do you notice anything strange?" Cam asked.
Kya paced around the platform. "Nope, everything's normal."
Cam let out a groan, "She still has all her life points. Emi's still on Lyoko somewhere."
Everything suddenly turned grey, this signaled Eagle's Eye's actiation. Five black blurs were quickly making their way towards us. "Hurry, Cam. Five horents are coming."
Kya and Alexei took out their weapons at my warning.
"How nice of Xana to send a welcoming party." Alexei twirled his sais.
"Not now, Alexei." Kya passed a peeved glare at him.
"What?" Alexei shrugged. "It'd be rude not ingore them."
Kya rolled her eyes, before sprinting off. She engaged the first hornet, taking by surpise. Digit dust rain down, as four more attacked. Alexei and I took care of the other two quickly.
"That wasn't to-" Alexei was knocked down by a laser.
"Krabs are heading for you." Cam's warning came to late.
Three krabs came down the path, forcing us back towards the blounder. Kya helped Alexei up, while I deflected lasers with my charkam.
"Anyone got a plan?" Kya asked. She had Alexei's arm around her shouder, helping him stand. Alexei appears a bit dazed, after being hit by a laser.
The krabs contiuned to move forward, pushing us against te blounder.
"Sheild!" Kya actiated her sheild, protecting herself and Alexei. "Lynn, do something!"
"Me?" I tossed my charkam at the closets krab. My weapon barely gazed it, before returning to me. "You do something. Your fast enough to avoid the lasers."
"I've got a hurdred pounds of annoying, weighting me down." Kya gestured towards Alexei.
"Hey!" Alexei withdrew himself from Kya. "I'm not annoying."
"Will you two stop." Cam sounded annoyed. "I may have found Emi."
"Care to elborate, general?" Kya asked.
"There's a slight distoration nearby. It appears Emi went through it." There was a slight pause, than Cam continued. "Actually, it's directly behind Alexei."
Alexei looked behind him, "All I see is a giant blounder."
Kya deactivated her shield, to shove Alexei aside. "Move." She stared at the blounder for a second, than gently ran a hand over it. "Bingo." For a moment, her hand disappeared into the blounder.
Smirking, she pulled her hand out. "Cam, remember the serect level of Space Invaders Five?" The game was about stopping an alien invasion. One of the levels was a serect level. The only way to get to the level, was to find a hidden passage. "The access point was hidden behind a false wall." She gave us a knowing look. "Look, what I found behind the blounder."
Without warning, she stepped through the distrotion. Alexei and I shared a look, than followed behind Kya.
"You won't believe this, general." Alexei slowly turned, taking in the scenary.
"What? Is it a trap?" Cam paused typing, concerned about where his friends were.
"It's a new sector." Kya was stunned at the sight before them.
"An island sector." Lynn took a tenative step forward. "You'll want to get a visual."
Curious about what his friends were seeing, he opened a link to Alexei's avatar. The link allowed Cam to see everything Alexei saw. The group stood on a platform over looking several floating 'islands'. The islands varied in sizes, but all were topical. Floralage covered parts, with ponds scattered throughout.
"Woah." The holo-map changed to reflect this new sector on Lyoko's world map. The four other sectors were still shown in a circle. Now two additional land masses hovered above the _ and _ sectors. "This sector is as big as two sectors. It's an outer layer of Lyoko. Hmm..."
"Any idea where Emi is?" Kya asked.
"You guys continue looking for her and explore the new sesctor. I'll search for her from here." Cam closed the link to run a scan for Emi's digital signal.
"That's a great plan. But how are we suppose to get off this platform?" Alexei kicked a pebble into a nearby pond. The pebble reappeared moments later on another island, popping out of the pond on that island.
"That answer your questions?" Kya smirked. "Vechiles?"
"Coming up." Cam said, moments later two cyberbikes and the cyerjet appeared before them. "We don't know anything about this sector, so stay together. Who knows what surpises Xana my have."
Emi's POV:
I raced through the trees, avoiding the lasers as they came. Four kranlets have been chasing me sense I exited the portal. No matter which island I go to, Xana already has monsters there, ready to attack.
"Emi," Cam's voice drained some of the panic coursing through me. "the others are their way."
"Oww." I jumped off a small cliff, landing at the edge of the island. The closet island is several yards away." Therer isn't a pond in sight. My choses are to face the kranlets or go swimming in the digital sea.
The sound of a tiny face alerted me to four annoying 'visitors'. Instead of attacking they slowly made their way towards me. Instively, I backed away to avoid them. My foots nearly slipped off the edge, reminding me of what lay below.
A strange humming sound from behind, took my attention away from the kranlets. Something engulfed me, talking me away from the island.
Cam's POV:
"I've lost her again, guys." Emi's digital signal disappeared again. The portal I can understand, we never knew about this other sector. Her disappearing at the edge of the island? Weird.
"Find her fast, Cam." Alexei's avatar card lit up, indecating he was speaking. "Xana left us a gift."
They were nearing Emi's last known location, where four kranlets waited. I'm not to worried, they have all their life points, minus Alexei, he has _.
While the others engaged the kranlets, I activated the locator program. It quickly showed that Emi wasn't on Lyoko.
"Tell me you've got good news." Alexei sounded out of breath. His avatar depicted the lose of life points.
"Hang on." If Emi isn't in this new sector, she could've gone to another sector. It wouldn't be to crazy for there to be another hidden sector. I changed the loactor porgram to search for Emi's digital sector and that of a sectors'. "Bingo." 'Caritage' appeared on the screen, asking for a password.
"Sounds like you've found her." Lynn said.
"Yes and no." Caritage sound familiar, but where have I heard it from? "The word 'Caritage' appeared and it's asking for a password."
"Scipio." Kya stated.
"Scipio?" She sounds conficed this is the correct password. I put it in, which actually worked.
The others had defeated the remaining kranlets and stood at the edge of the platform.
Kya's POV:
A giant orb with the eye of Xana came out of nowhere and grabbed us. Seconds later, we were let out into a doomed aread. The room stooped spinning, revealing an opening.
"How'd you know the password?" Alexei asked.
"I figured Caritage or whatever was another hidden sector." I explained. "We also learned about Caritage and the Puni wars in history last year. Since we needed to get into the sector, which made we think about who defeated him. Hench, the password."
"So is this what? A sixth sector?" Lynn glanced around our new enivornment,
"Arccording to the holo-map, this is sector five. Woah!" Cam's voice got loud, like he's execited. "Sector Five isn't only a sphere, it's located within the center of the others four sectors. Oh, it's also where Xana lives."
"Really, Cam?" I rolled my eyes. "You couldn't start with that? We're in Xana's home." We made out way out of the door to a corridor tha lead to a maze like room. At this point, we had no idea which way to go.
"I've found Emi, she's cornered by monsters. Hurry, I'll guide you." Cam's instrustions took us down several corridors and turns. Unlike the oter sesctors, this one wasn't based on a real world terrian. Elerctric blue color coated the walls, floors, and platforms. A _ feel was given.
We exited the last corridor to find Emi. A jellyfish like monster had Emi trapped by it's tentacles. She was lifted off the ground, as three tentacles cirlced her head. One on te left side, another on the right, and the last one on her forehead.
"There's some jellyfish thing holding Emi." Alexei appeared ready to charge in, but refrained from doing so.
"It's stealing Emi's keys!" Cam sounded panikced. "You've got to free her!"
We gave a silent nod of agreement to each other. Alexei lanuched several shuriken at the other monsters in the room. These monsters had tails instead of legs, ,oved on two thin arm like things, the small head had a giant mouth in the middle where lasers were fired. The eye of Xana was on top of it's head.
Unlike the other monsters, these were easily destroyed by piercing the bodies and not just targeting the eye. Alexei allowed me to sprint by undistracted to Emi. Lynn's charkam cut the tentacles holding Emi, freeing her. Emi fell into my arms, as I skatd undernearth the jellyfish monster. Lynn's charkam and Alexei's shuriken knocked into the monster, forcing it back.
Our victory was short lived. The room started to change. The floors rose up, walls closed in; the remaining monsters retreated. Maybe we should do te same.
"Cam?" Emi asked. She appeared okay, just confused.
"Get back to the arena, the countdown's almost up. I don't know what will happen afterwards" Nice to know Cam's as clueless as we are.
Lynn lead the way back to the arena. We made it just as the corridor completely closed. Once there, Cam summoned the orb again. This time it let us ot in the desert sector, in from of a tower.
"Materialztion Alexei, Materialztion Kya, Materialtion Lynn." Cam brung us back to earth once Emi was inside the tower.
After their adveture on Lyoko, the group had made their way back to Kya's dorm. "Oww!" Emi rubbed her head where Lynn had plucked her. "What was that for?"
"Scaring us." Lynn answered.
"Going to Lyoko alone." Kya added.
"Not asking us for help." Alexei chimed.
"All of the above." Cam turned around from Kya's computer to face his friends. "We're friends Emi, no matter what you can ask us for help."
"The general's right." Alexei nodded in agreement. "I know that you think we've done too much and sacificed alot for you already. But we haven't. We wanted to do all of that, okay?"
"I understand, but your all so busy. I didn't want to take you away from them." Emi looked at everyone, but mostly Kya and Cam.
Kya sighed, "Missing one pracitce every now and than won't hurt. Besides, you'd be doing me a favor. Anything to get away from Mara."
"Kya's the only one with pracitce. Well, Alexei is helping with the play, but that doesn't count." Lynn referred to how Alexei had been forced to help with the school's play. "I'm sure Cam doesn't mind pausing his work and I will too."
"Okay, okay." Emi giggled. "I get it. I'll rely on you guys more."
"Good." Alexei smirked. "Now onto the real discussion. We found two additional sectors."
Lynn agreed. "I can't wait to explore them. That island sector is amazing."
"I'll go with you. I wanna explore the fifth sector. We should be able to find more info on Xana there." Kya thought aloud.
"Maybe the answer to my visions are hidden there." Emi wondered.
"Let's not forget the new monsters we've encountered. We'll need to be more careful since that thing, went after Emi's keys." Alexei reminded them.
"Either way, we've entered a new chapter in our journey." Like his friends, Cam was earger to discover more sectors about Lyoko.
the _ verus the _ How did they get into Caritage? _"
"Heads up guys," Cam warned. "there's some kind of countdown."
We entered the corridor that lead to a maze like room. "Please tell us the countdown is something good." Alexei winced.
"Nope, when the countdown stops the room will change." Cam paused for a moment. "There's a button that should stop the countdown. I'll guide you to it."
