Kya POV:
"Don't be like that Lynn, we'll be fine." I walked beside Lynn to the library. He was to start detention directly afterschool. Once inside, we won't be able to contact him until his detention's over.
"I know, but that doesn't mean I have to like it." Lynn never was kean on the idea of being left out. That's what made it differcult to convience him to take some time away from the Lyoko Defenders during his music competition/contest. He's reasons are understandable, he was one of the first of us to jounrey to Lyoko for the first time. Cam first found the manison and reactivted the supercomputer. He than told Alexei and Lynn soon found out. I discovered everything after being dragged to the manison during the first attack.
"Promise you'll contact me if something go bad." Lynn stopped outside of the library. The look on his face betrayed his worry. Normally, I'd take him up on his offer, but not this time. We lose more than gain if he skips detention to help us.
"I apperate the offer, but no. We both know Princpal Hall will call your parnets if your found breaking another rule or skipping your pushiment." My statement was enough to get Lynn to understand. His father's already unhappy that Lynn's fousc is on music and not sports. Even playing on various sports times throughout the school year isn't enough to satify him. Lynn wouldn't even be playing on the teams if he's scholarship to Kanna didn't require him to. Lynn maybe good at sports, but he perfers improving he's music to sharping his sports skills. If Prinpcal Hall calls Lynn's parnets, it'll be the excuse his father needs in taking Lynn's music away from him. Not to much probably pulling Lynn out of Kanna and placing him in a school that spealizes in sports.
Lynn gave a bitter sweet smile, before heading into the library. He'll be there most of the evening, than leave for dinner, before having to remain in his dorm for the rest of the night. That's no one to hang out with. Cam returned home to continue analzying last night's data. Alexei got dragged away but Mara and Emi's still at Kadic.
Alone, I returned to my dorm. There I killed some time doing homework. I can't afford for my grades to slip. Like Lynn, I also attend Kanna on a scholarship. Mine is academic, being tied to my schoolwork and grades. If I lose my scholarship, I can't attend Kanna anymore.
Finished my homework, I checked my cell for messages. There was one from Calex that came fifteen mintues ago. He wanted to know if I had some time to meet. There was something he wanted to show me. Seeing as how there were a few hours left until I had to meet the others, I sent him a text saying I'd meet him in front of the dorms.
Calex was waiting for me outside the dorms taking photos. Camara in hand, he didn't notice my apporach. Fousced on his craft, he skillfully captured photos of the surrounding environment.
"Doing a photoshoot?" Coming up behind him, I tapped his shoulder.
Startled, he said. "Whoa, sneaky much?"
"Nope," I shrugged. "you just scare easily."
"Actually, your a ninja." Placing his camara in it's bag, he than stated. "What I want to show you is in the forest. I found it while exploring the other day."
Emi POV:
She bounced the ball off the wall, letting out a dramatic sigh. Wave is nothing, if not overdramatic. She's been sitting in my dorm, bouncing and sighing since school ended. Wave wanted to explore the nearby forest and for me to come with her. Since I have to meet the others tonight and will probably be gone most of the night, I won't have time to do homework or study later. Wave, the genius, somehow gets her homework done in class. Now there's a bored Wave waiting for me to finish so we can hang out.
"Why don't you study or get a head start on our essay?" Turning from my desk, I noticed that Wave was now doing a handstand. "What are you doing?"
"A. You know I don't study, I don't even pay attention in class. B.," She placed both her feet together, dropping them onto the carpet to than stand straight (up). "I was trying to get the ideas to flow from my feet to my brain. You know how you just start dancing to an unknown tune? Well I've been doing that since this morning and needed to get the beat from my toes to my head before creating it."
Wave's a bit of an oddball. The things she says and does don't always make sense, if you don't know her. Sissy thinks she's a nutcase, while others thinks she's joking and teachers think she's a class clown. Wave doesn't do things to get attention. She just says what's on her mind without thinking. Nine times out of ten, it doesn't make sense because she sometimes forgets to explain things or leaves out information. "Did it work?"
Arms crossed, she flopped onto the bed. "We'll see once I sample an older beat and combine somethings."
Wave's a DJ. She loves creating beats, almost as much as Lynn. It's gotten to the point where she'll listen to music during class. Wave's constantly wearing headphones around her neck when it's not on her head. There off when class starts, but before the end, you can beat she's listening to something. Teachers have attempted to take her headphones away and give her detention. But it's never happened. Teacher's claim she's distracting the class, being disrespectful, and not paying attention. Wave shuts them all up by answering question and sometimes repeating the teacher's lecture almost word for word. Aelita and her friends have even told teachers numberous times, no one really notices Wave's headphones or her music. The girl is almost invisbile.
"Ya done yet?" Wave rubbed her hands together as if plotting something. "Ready to explore the forest?"
"Stop distracting me and I'll get done sooner." Rolling my eyes, I went back to my homework. "Why are you so obessed with the forest anyway? There's nothing but dirt and trees. I'm sure you had those back in America."
"How are you not curious about it!?" Wave went back to her hand stand. "Our first day of school we found that weird house the Hertimage. Why would someone live deep inside the forest?"
"So you goal is to look around the Hertimage." Not a bad idea. I've been meaning to check the place out myself. Kya and the guys have gone there numerous time and found nothing of insterest. Logically, there's not point in me going if they haven't found anything. However, my 'dreams' or 'visions' allowed me to find the place. Who knows what I could uncover by going there. Just not with Wave. Her being there the first time is bad enough. If another vision were to suddenly happen, one of the Defenders should be there with me. They'll have prepare for the unexpected. Whereas Wave is well Wave.
"Eww no, that place is creepy. Insteresting but creepy." Wave began walking on her hands, while kicking her legs in the air. "I just wanna get to know the overall area. We've been at Kadic for over a month and haven't step foot into town. Might as well explore something that's nearby."
Welp, my plan to show her around town has gone out the window. While I don't know the area well, I rememember the gangs favorite spots from when Kya let me borrow her body. As far as everyone knows, my first day at Kadic was only my second time in the city. Other than when I borrowed Kya's body, I've visited the gangs favorite places a few times since the completion of the materlaztion program. Just because Xana made it buggy, doesn't mean I couldn't hang out with the gang from time to time. It just meant I couldn't stay on earth for long periods of time before.
"EEMMIII!" Wave winced. "I'm bored!" Yeah right. She's currently switching from yoga poses to dance moves. Wave is alot of things, being bored for long periods of time isn't one of them.
"Calm down Wave, we can go now." Closing my notebook, I grabbed my laptop case and cell phone. Knowing Wave, we'll be out until the very last moment. I won't have a chance to return to the dorms before meeting everyone at the mansion tonight.
"Great! Let's go!" Wave was out the door before I'd finished cleaning up. "What's taking ya so long? There's a forest to explore!"
"This is what you wanted to show me?" Kya questioned Calex, shocked by his discovery.
Calex nodded. "Yup, found it one day while exploring the forest for a good photo spot." He gestured in front of him. "I've been here a few times since than trying to find away inside cuz the door's locked or suck."
"Mmhmm." Kya couldn't admit she know another way in. The Defenders always used the opening on the second floor by the shed to enter the mansion. At first the manison's doors not opening was annoying, but proved to be helpful during certain attacks. Somethings Xana controlled couldn't enter the manison because of the door. While others could easily break through to get inside.
"Maybe there's a reason for that. Like we shouldn't be entering." Those were the same thoughts Kya had on her first trip to the manison. Back than, she had no idea the advetures that awaited her. Now she had to stop Calex from discovering them.
"Where's your sense of adventure?" Calex began walking towards the back of the manison. "This place is clearly abandoned and it doesn't look like anyone's been here in years."
Wrong. I was here just last night with everyone.Kya thought to herself. "All the more reason to leave." She chased after Calex.
"Correction, all the more reason to go inside." Calex inspected the back door, finding it firmly suck in place.
Kya withheld a smile, reminding the first few times Alexei tried using that door. He seemed to forget there was a 'trick' to opening the door. The handle had to be lifted up and turned while leaning into the door. Even than the door didn't always open. Another reason they perfered the second floor enterance.
Calex tried the door once more. "Image what we'll find if we can get inside."
Yeah, a supercomputer and ingellent virus living inside that continously attacks us.Kya racked her brain for ideas to deter Calex. "Obviously someone doesn't want people snooping around." Kya let out a sigh, as Calex's struggled to open a stuck door. "Your not gonna get it to open like that."
Calex rattled the door handle for theumpteenth time. "Y'know, I think your right. We should look for another enterance point. Maybe there's an open window."
I've forgotten how stunborn Calex can be.Kya thought if she couldn't deter Calex from entering the mansion, she'd hinder him.Let's lead him to areas that defintly won't open."We haven't been to the western side of the manison. How about checking there?" She directed him to the one part of the manison that was differcult to navigate even from inside. The western wing was covered in debris to the point where cleaning it was the only save way to explore. They tried searching several times before, but could only get so far before the debris became to hindering. Not only would they not be able to get inside, but Kya recongized Emi's voice coming from that side. Maybe Emi's presence could distract Calex from wanting to get inside.
Calex agreed. "We probably won't find away inside today away. Might was well search outside the manison for today."
"Wave are you sure we're not lost?" Emi questioned.
"Relax, my sense of direction is never wrong." Wave assured. "We don't have a destination, so we're defintly not lost." She proudly declared.
Good thing I made a mental map of our path. Otherwise, we'd be lost in this forest.Emi thought to herself. Althrough the more they walked, the more familiar everything looked.
"Just because we don't have a destination doesn't mean we aren't lost. So, let's stop here and back the way we came." Emi suggested.
Wave shook her head, "Nope, Ems. Explorers never give up!" Truthfully, Wave had an idea of where they were. Several weeks ago, she'd traveled with her parents and step-brother to tour Kadic and Kanna Academy. During that time, Wave was more focused on compenting a new beat than paying attention to her surroundings. Her inattentiveness caused her to wonder into the nearby forest. Upon realizing she was in an unknown location, Wave did the smart thing, she wondered around until she found her way out. In that time she found several 'interesting' locations within the forest. One of them was an abandoned manison.
Wave wanted to explore the manison, but couldn't until now. Transfering to Kadic wasn't an easy task, plus she needed to adjust to leave aboard. Then there fact Wave had only found the mansion once. She couldn't remember which direction it was in and couldn't risk stumbling onto Kanna's campus. The fit her brother would throw the moment he discovered she transfered schools.
"Come on Emi, over here!" Wave disappeared through some bushes to emerge in manison's backyard. "Ems you've gotta see this!"
"What's so important that you left-" Emi went silent at the sight of Wave standing before the manison.Great, how am I gonna get her away from here? Knowing Wave she's gonna wanna explore the manison.
Wave wondered over to the manison to peek through the windows. "Wonder how long it's been since someone's been here?"Between dust on the windows and the dim light case inside, Wave wasn't able to see much. Not that her goal had been getting inside the manison today. For now, she was just happy to have found it again.
"Wave, what are you plotting?" Emi asked, seeing the smirk on Wave's face.
"Relax Emi." Wave smiled. "Explores must know when to continue and when to turn back."
Emi rolled her eyes, "Earlier you said 'explorers never give up'. Why the change of heart?"
"We're not 'giving up'. It's a strageit retreat." Wave stated. "Now, lets return to Kadic for today." Based on their location and her memory of her first trip to the manison, it was located closer to Kanna than Kadic. Kanna the school her brother attend, along with Emi's friends.
Let's try the windows over sound of a male voice made Wave checked the western ones in the front but not the she was sure of it, Wave knew this voice.
"Sounds like someone else is here." Emi went to peek around the corner. "Wonder if it's students from Kanna or Kadic. What do you think Wav-"
Wave placed her hand over Emi's mouth, while signaling for her to be quiet. "Shh, not so loud."
"What's wrong?" Emi whisphered.
"I can't let him find me." Wave gestured for Emi to move away from the corner of the manison.
"Explain." Emi didn't understand why Wave was suddenly so jumpy, like there'd been a Xana attack. Wave swayed to her own beat, unbothered by 'normal' things. For her to be acting like this meant it was something big. "Who can't find you? Why don't you want them finding you?"
Wave fidgeted with the hem of her shirt. "Umm...my brother." She wasn't sure where to start. "Calex."
