Chapter 9: Trespassers
NinjaFang1331: Thank you once again!
Theanimemaster9000: I agree that no one should tell you how you should feel, and while she went about the wrong way, she is still just a teen and going through her own problems, but in a way she's not wrong, Yes Oscar may have found out the truth and is hurt by the lies, but he's had a better life than her in this story. Again, she went about it the wrong way, but she has a point.
Guest: True I guess, and yeah, I know not all men are bad, the reason I chose Little Miss Malachite was that what happens in this and the next act impacts the Acts in part 2.
Guest: I kinda like Jaune betrayed fics (if done right), but I don't like the aspect of Blake being angry or rude to him for something she is no doubt guilty of the same thing, in fact, I think that if people made a betrayed Jaune fic, it would be a good Nightshade story. If Oscar does join them on their adventure, it won't be for a good reason...
CriticaofRandomness: Yeah FNAF music! And Yeah, looks like Vernal and Jaune are going to be doing some extermination. The Joke about the three heroes wasn't about Summer, Raven/Leo, though in a way, it is about them, the last part was about Ozpin. believe it or not, you're a bit right about Tai's role in the "Patch Act" but Glynda's role won't come until Part 2's "Beacon Act". One thing I will admit is that the "God" is both Salem and the Brothers. The boy is Jaune but I can not deny nor confirm that he dies in the end as his fate ties in with a certain concept that was being talked about before the joke which was the concept of destiny, does it exist in this world or not? Do people have a choice or will the characters suffer the same fate as they did in canon?
NICE2: NICE... have you been hacking into my Docs and ready my plans for PT.2 of this story? Do you have cameras in my house? Are you my FBI Agent? ARE YOU THE ONE PRESENCE I FEEL BEHIND ME!? But for real, I won't deny that you're close to what you were guessing, but I'm also not gonna say you're fully on the mark. I will let you (and anyone who reads this) know that Raven will return in the story and she and Nicholas will have a reunion, in Part 2's "Clipped Wings Act" where certain details about the two will be revealed.
Update 6:
I now have Discord server! On it, we'll share fanfic ideas, give feedback on ideas, and hobbies, simply chat about anything, and talk about RWBY or any other show! So if you'd like, please let me know and I'll invite ya! Thank you!
Also, I'm just beginning to plan Part 2's Acts, where everything with the Salem Plot will come to light with a few changes to certain aspects such as: Salem's Plan and how to destroy the Gods, The Origin of the Relics and their spirits.
Salem's plan to destroy the gods is my own little thing I came up with and the relics will still be involved. The origin of the Relics and why they have spirits will also be explained in a bit more detail, and it'll be a somewhat sad one as each of the four spirits, (I named Destruction and Choice myself based on things related to gods) have a connection to the brother gods.
P.S.: Today's Chapter might be a little shorter than its usual length.

In the living room, Jaune and Oscar were boarding up the windows, preparing for when, not if, when Spider showed up. Jaune held up the planks while Oscar hammered them in the sides, meanwhile, Vernal and Melissa were doing the same thing with the upstairs windows, as well as making sure they had enough ammo both for their own weapons and a gun that Oscar was meant to use, however, Jaune hoped that he wouldn't have to use it anytime soon.
Jaune looked at Oscar as he was hammering a nail into the end of the board. "You ever shot a gun before?" he asked.
"Couple of times," Oscar said as he finished, he then grabbed another one, and began hammering again, "A few small Grimm and animals, but I... I never shot at anyone," He replied.
"I know what you mean," Jaune said, "It wasn't easy for me when I started training, I was afraid i might kill someone, but I remembered they have Aura, and so if I hit them they'd be fine," Jaune told the young boy.
Oscar stopped hammering and looked to Jaune, "I... I wonder how people deal with it," Oscar asked sadly but returned to hammering in the nails.
"Deal with what?" Jaune asked.
"Killing someone," Oscar replied
Jaune stopped, he already felt the familiar presence rear its ugly head, 'Yes, why don't you tell him how you deal with it! Hehehehe!' The Beowulf cackled.
Jaune hated when that damn presence, but he continued to ignore the Beowulf, and looked at the young teen, "It isn't easy," Jaune replied. "Trust me,"
Oscar stopped and glanced at Jaune with a look of realization. "Jaune, have you... have you killed anyone before,"
Jaune turned to him, a serious look in his eyes, "Yes," Jaune said.
"But you... you had a good reason, right?" Oscar asked.
'HAHAHAHAHAHA! Come on! Tell him! Tell him how you slaughtered those guys without mercy! How good it felt to finally bash your shield in that fucking bandit's Skull!' The Beowulf cried.
Jaune wanted to yell at the beast, but all he could do was ignore it. Oscar saw that Jaune looked troubled and then he looked away, not answering. "Jaune? You did have a good reason, right?" Oscar asked again.
"I don't think I did," Jaune replied.
Oscar felt saddened by Jaune's response, he wanted to know more, wondering how someone like Jaune could kill someone, but he could feel the awkward tension and decided to change the subject. "Are you afraid?" he asked.
Jaune nodded, "Of course I am," Jaune replied, "I'm afraid for you, Melissa, and Vernal,"
"But not you?" Oscar asked, "You're not afraid for yourself?"
Jaune looked at him, "I don't consider myself as important as you three," Jaune said with a slight smile, "Vernal, you, and Melissa are one of the most important things in my life, sure we've only known each other over mostly over a month, but your people I'd give my life for,"
Oscar felt better by his words, but they still stung, "but you're important to me too, I'd rather have you live than give up your life for me," Oscar replied, "Enough people have already left me," Oscar muttered
Jaune looked at Oscar and smiled, "Well then I'll make sure no one else leaves you," Jaune said.
"Promise?"
"Arc's word,"
'Hehehe... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!' the Beowulf cackled, 'Don't go making promises you can't keep!' It cried.
Jaune once again ignored the beast's taunts and the two boys shared a smile and continued working, but Oscar was still feeling all kinds of emotions, so after a few minutes, they finished the window, and Oscar made an excuse to go upstairs, and once Jaune let him, Oscar made his way upstairs, where he looked for his Aunt.
However, as he searched upstairs he only found Vernal in his room, who was just finishing up one of the windows.
Oscar stopped and looked at her, "Vernal, have you seen my Aunt?" Oscar asked.
Vernal set the hammer down and turned to him, "Last time I saw her, she said she needed to do something in her room," Vernal replied.
"Thank you," Oscar replied as he walked away. He began to walk away but he stopped himself and stood there for a few moments in thought, before turning back and looking back in his room at Vernal. "Vernal, can I... can I talk to you?" Vernal asked.
Vernal looked back at him and was a bit confused about what he wanted to talk to her about, but she nodded. Oscar walked in and sat down on his bed and Vernal stood up and looked down at the young boy.
"What's up Pinetree?" Vernal asked.
Oscar fidgeted with his hands like a young child asking for permission for something, "Vernal, what uh... what it is like?" Oscar began, "taking a life I mean..." the young boy finished.
Vernal looked at him with a serious and sad look on her face, she took in a deep breath and then exhaled and kneeled in front of the boy, "Oscar, I want to first say that I hope and to pray to whatever gods that you don't have to take a life at your age because when you take a life, any life, it blackens your soul," Vernal replied, "The first man I killed was... was someone who hurt me, so when I killed him, I felt free, I felt better then I had in years, but when I began to hurt innocent people, I... I felt sick, I felt like I was just as bad as the man who hurt me, but I pushed them aside, I hid behind a facade that took control for the longest time, and I began to kill and hurt people like the worst scum out there, but every kill still stuck with me, and my soul blackened more and more I killed," Vernal finished.
"But do you ever get over it?" Oscar asked, his voice trembling, "Does it become... easier?"
Vernal quickly shook her head, "No, no you never get over it, and it should never become easier to kill, that's when it becomes a problem," Vernal told him.
Oscar's lip quivered, "Then, how are you dealing with it? How does my Aunt deal with it? Or Jaune? H-How do any of you deal with it?" Oscar asked, with a worried tone, "I-I know I'm gonna have to kill someone, but how can I deal with it!? I-I...! I'm scared Vernal...!" Oscar asked as tears began to fall.
Vernal quickly acted and began to wipe his tears away, "Hey, hey, it's ok kiddo, it's ok," Vernal began, trying to reassure the younger teen. "I know it's scary, but like I said, I hope you won't have to kill anyone, because I'll make sure to get them before they can ever get to you, So will Jaune and your Aunt, the three of us are here to protect you and make sure you never, ever, have to go through what we did," Vernal replied, bringing the boy into a hug.
Oscar sniffled into Vernal's shoulder and let his tears slowly fall from his cheeks, as Vernal rubbed his back. "But who's gonna protect you guys? I-I don't want any of you to die," Oscar told her.
Vernal broke the hug and looked at him, a soft smile on her face, "The three of us has each other's backs," Vernal told him, "And I swear to you, that your aunt, me, or Jaune are going to die," Vernal said, "We'll keep each other safe, I promise,"
Oscar wiped his tears away as he looked at Vernal, and a smile formed on his lips, "Thanks, Vernal, I-I feel a little better," he said.
"Good," Vernal said, "Now go find your Aunt, see if she's done, Jaune and me cook dinner tonight and we need to know what she's feeling like," She told him, still trying to brighten up the mood.
Oscar continued smiling at her and gave her a quick nod as he got up and went looking for his aunt in her room, and Vernal also left the room, however, just as they were leaving, Melissa walked out of her room and into the hallway, closing her bedroom door behind her.
Seeing his Aunt, Oscar called out to her. "Aunt Mel," Oscar called to her.
Melissa turned and looked at her nephew, "Hey Pinetree," Melissa greeted back with a small smile, "What's up?" she asked.
Oscar walked over to her, "Vernal and Jaune were wondering what you wanted for dinner," Oscar told her.
Melissa closed her eyes for a second, still smiling, and looked at him. "Tell them to surprise me," She replied.
Oscar nodded, and walked past Vernal, who told the young Pine to go tell Jaune, and the farmboy made his way downstairs. Once he was out of earshot, Vernal looked at Melissa, her expression turning sad.
"You're being strong about this whole thing," Vernal told her, "I don't know what I would do if I was in your situation and he was my kid,"
Melissa sighed, "I'm scared vernal," Melissa told the teen, "afraid, frightened, absolutely fucking terrified! I... I never wanted this for him, I never wanted him to be going through this! This, none of this, is his fault, but he's paying for my sins," Melissa said sadly.
Vernal rested her hand arm on Melissa's shoulder and shook her head, "And none of this is your fault, you're not to blame here, Mel, Spider is the one that killed his parents, not you," Vernal told her.
Melissa sighed once again letting out a sigh, "I've been telling myself that for nearly 13 years, Vernal," Melissa replied, "But even I know that is a fucking lie," she retorted.
Melissa walked back downstairs and Vernal looked at her with a glum face, before following her back downstairs, and as she did, she begged to whatever gods existed, that tonight would not end terribly.
As if the god would hear her pleas and care.

In the dead of night, 7 People all wearing pink and purple clothing, slowly made their way onto the Pine Farm, each with a pistol at the ready, and they made their way toward the main house. Once on the front porch, one quickly went to pick the door, two went around back just in case, and four of them stayed on the porch with the lockpicker. One of them tried to look through the windows but couldn't see anything.
The one looking through the window stopped and looked at the others, "Bitch must have boarded up the windows," said one of them, "Can't see a damn thing,"
A female member rolled her eyes, "Who cares, let's just get inside and put the damn cop down," she replied.
"Will both of you be quiet!" another member cried in a hushed tone.
The one picking up the door heard a click and smiled, "Alright, we're in!" They said with glee.
They pushed open the door, only to be staring down the barrel of Melissa's revolver and was quickly shot in the head, and flopped backward, dead. The other four were stunned by what had just happened to one of them, but recovered, and raised their guns toward the door, but Melissa rolled out onto a dirt path, only to rebound from her harsh roll, turn around, and shoot one in the chest, another in the leg, and stopped shooting and run to the other side of the house, avoiding the shots the other two members fired.
On the right side of the house, One of the Spider members heading to the back of the house quickly stopped and turned around after hearing the gunshots from the front, and realizing what was happening, turned back around to try and shoot anyone coming out of the back. However, as he rounded the corner with his gun raised, Jaune appeared and used his shield to strike the gang member's arms up, knocking the gun out of his hands, and then stabbed in the chest.
On the left side of the House, Vernal awaited for her target to round her corner, one of her daggers in its pistol form and the other still in its base form. Once the Spider member arrived and rounded the corner, Vernal shot them in the foot, before stepping out and stabbing them in the eye.
Once both Jaune and Vernal were done with their targets, they ran to the front, Jaune went through the house, and Vernal ran her way, only to see Melissa running toward her, and seeing behind her a Spider member shooting at her, and they turned around and hid behind the corner, avoiding the bullets flying toward them.
Vernal looked at Melissa, "How many?"
"Two, one dead, one injured," Melissa replied, "You?"
"Dead" Vernal replied.
"Jaune?" Melissa asked.
"Went through the house to get to them," Vernal replied.
Then they heard a cry of anguish, and the gunshots stopped, and they turned their heads around the corner only to see the Spider Member that was shooting at them crying in pain and clenching their hand, which was bleeding heavily. Melissa and Vernal quickly ran over to them and Melissa aimed her gun at them while Vernal checked on Jaune, who had the other Member on the ground, unarmed, and Vernal could see and hear the injured one, huffing and puffing in pain as they put pressure on their leg.
"What do we do with them?" Jaune asked.
"Bring them out to the field, I need answers," Melissa told the blond.
The two teens nodded and grabbed the two other members while Melissa picked up the third, walked toward the field, and set each of them on their knees while their captors stared down at them.
Melissa turned to the one holding their severed hand, glaring at them. "How did Malachite find me?" she asked
They glared up at her, heaving, and then smiled. "Fuck-"
But before they could finish their sentence, Melissa quickly whipped her revolver out and shot them in the head, shocking the two teens with her speed and ruthlessness.
Melissa then turned to the 2nd one, who was the one with the wound in their leg, and who looked very frightened as they stared at Melissa.
"How did Malachite find me?" Melissa asked a second time.
The spider member looked at her with fear and quickly bumbled over his words. "S-She got to your old captain, h-he was threatened to find and give up your whereabouts, a-a-and once he did, M-Malachite had him killed!" They cried.
Melissa felt anger when she heard his answer, but had more questions, "Are more of you coming?"
The man nodded, "I-If none of report back, s-she's g-gonna send more!" They cried frantically,
"How many?" Melissa asked.
"W-What?"
Melissa rolled her eyes in annoyance, "Do you speak English?"
"Wh-What?"
Melissa pressed her revolver against the member's forehead, "English motherfucker do you speak it!?" Melissa asked
"YES!"
Melissa gave him a quick nod, "Then you understand what I'm saying, right?" Melissa asked
The member nodded quickly, "Yes!"
"Good," Melissa replied, "Now how many of you will be coming?"
"Two vans," They quickly replied, "15 gang members altogether,"
Melissa nodded and proceeded to question the member, "Why is she sending so many?"
"S-She knows you got two Huntsmen living with y-you, it's the size we send out to deal with Huntsmen! A-A clean up c-crew!" they responded quickly.
"What kind of weapons?"
"Fully automatic dust guns," They replied, "I-I told you everything, pl-please let me-"
Melissa fired her Rolver and killed him, once again shocking the two teens. The third screamed and quickly stood up and ran away, but Melissa quickly put a stop to that as she aimed her gun at them, and fired, hitting them back, and causing them to fall to the ground with a cry of pain, she once again raised her gun and shot their leg, causing them to cry once more.
Slowly, they began to crawl away, but Melissa walked over to them, like a predator slowly approaching its wounded prey. Once she stood next to the wounded gang member, the ex-detective put her foot underneath their body and kicked them over, forcing the member onto their back and looking at her, their expression fearful as blood leaked from their mouth.
The member looked at her with a pleading expression, tears forming and falling from their eyes, "P-Please... I-I don't want to die!" they begged, then coughing up blood and breathing deeply "Please j-just let me go! I-I won't tell Malachite where you are, I-I swear!" he cried out
Melissa aimed her revolver at them, her glare hard and angry, "You're trespassing on my property," Melissa told him and pulled the hammer back, "And trespassers... will be shot,"
The gang member's eyes widened and before they could beg for their life some more, Melissa pulled the trigger and blew the spider member's brains out. She then holstered her gun and walked away, leaving the dead gangster there in the dirt.

Man, was Melissa ruthless or what? We're nearing the end of the Act and I hope you all are ready because it is gonna be sad. I mean here's what I'll be basically doing to you: I'll stab you, twist the knife, take you to the hospital to get you stitched up and make sure you live, only stab you again but with a needle.
Did I say how old Oscar was? In the Wiki it says he was 14 when he was introduced in Vol.4-6 but by Vol. 7-8 he's 15, so since this is during what is technically Vol. 1-3, he's 13.
Also, I'm thinking about doing a Knightshade story and an IliaxJaune story, which one should go first? (Also, Ik Ilia is gay but come on, if Maxaro can do it, so can I, it's all in good fun!)
