Chapter 32: The Boy Named Son
Robbeeyy: Jaune is indeed coming to terms with himself and he still is gonna be as the story progresses, while he may slip back in his anger and hatred, he hopefully will handle it far better than he has before.
NinjaFang1331: Thanks you! Glad you enjoyed the chapter!
blaiseingfire: I'm not gonna reveal if Ironwood and Robyn had slept together, but even if they did, it's not the reason Ironwood handed the position of Headmaster to her. Also, I should have been more clear, the Vytal Festival is going to take place during Jaune's 2nd year, which is when Jaune is supposed to return along with the others, which is part 2 of the story, sorry for not making that clear.
Guest: Jaune's semblance isn't going to evolve, but he will have some mastery over it, and we'll also be seeing a certain young teen getting his semblance!
Aliceblackwood007: Thank you and I'm glad you like the story, as for the spiritual stuff, you'll just have to wait and see!
splash43: They might understand what he's been through, but I don't think any of them have ever done what Jaune has done or gone through what he has, even Blake who I doubt got any blood on her hands until she and Yang killed Adam. Weiss for sure isn't going tun understand since she's still somewhat in that phase of not liking Jaune or being a bit of a brat.
Guest #2: Indeed and she's not the only spirit that lingers, but for now she'll watch over Jaune just as she watches over Tai, Qrow, and daughters.
devinokboy: All I'm gonna say is that if you don't like it, please move on.

Ishi Wukong, a man who had blonde hair, and emerald green eyes, and wore a simple brown tunic with a pair of grey ankle-leg pants and sandals, looked over the tribe. It was early in the morning, and while the sun had yet to show itself, the light of the sun showed itself.
He was currently waiting for news of his wife and hopefully, the birth of his child, he was happy that his wife was finally giving birth, but he had feared the possibility of his wife dying or his child, or even worse, both.
He prayed to the four gods that both would be alright and that both would be safe from the hands of death.
"Ishi!"
Ishi quickly turned to his right to see one of the handmaidens looking at him with a smile. "Are you ready to meet your son?" She asked.
Ishi's expression went from worry to absolute joy as he rushed into the tent, and when he entered, his eyes landed on his wife, and in her arms, was their child.
Ishi's wife, Nuwa, was a monkey Faunus indicated by her ears, and she had long brown hair, and blue eyes, and was currently wearing a white sun dress as she lay on a cushioned bed with their son wrapped in a blanket.
Ishi ran over to her side and lightly brought her in a hug, which caused Nuwa to let out a small giggle.
"Hello, love," Nuwa said. "Were you worried?" She asked.
"Like you wouldn't believe!" Ishi said. "How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Fine, very tired, but fine," Nuwa replied.
"Is there anything I can do?" He asked.
Nuwa smiled, "Take him, and watch him when I fall asleep, please," She said.
Ishi nodded, "Of course!" He said with a bright smile.
Nuwa giggled and looked at her husband and son, "So, what do we wish to call him?" She asked.
Ishi began to think of a name, and that's when he suddenly was blinded by the rays of the sun. Ishi looked to see that the sun had finally risen and its rays shone through. Ishi smiled at the beauty of the rising sun and that's when the name hit him.
"What about Sun?" Ishi said.
Nuwa smiled, "Sun... Sun Wukong... that is a lovely name for our boy," She said with a soft smile.
Ishi nodded as he turned back to look at his baby boy with a bright smile. "And like his name, He'll shine just as bright, and rise to every challenge!" He said.
Nuwa smiled, "Already have high hopes for him?" She asked.
Ishi smiled, "Of course!" He told Nuwa, "He's my son, and I know... one day, he'll do something amazing! Perhaps... he'll even be Invincible under the Sun!" Ishi cried with glee.
"You think he'll be a warrior?" Nuwa asked.
Ishi nodded, "Not just any warrior! A warrior who'll be amongst the strongest of his time! Our son is gonna do great things! I just know it!" Ishi cried with glee.
Nuwa giggled, "If you say so, love... but, I hope he also has a kind heart when he grows to be this said warrior,"
Ishi looked at her with a smile, "I'm sure he will, he is your son after all," Ishi told her.
Nuwa nodded, "Let's just hope he also hasn't inherited your childish behavior," She said with a smirk.
Ishi looked at his wife, "OI! You like that about me!" He said.
The two laughed as a newborn Sun Wukong slept peacefully in his mother's arms, and while he may not know his parents in the future, their predictions about who he would become were not false, as he would become the very thing, they had wished for him to be...
That was 7 years ago, and now, a 10-year-old Starr Sanzang was walking along the beach, looking around for any sign of her cousin, who had a bad habit of wandering off. Starr had orange hair that was tied up into a bun, electric blue eyes, and she currently was wearing a white sleeveless shirt, which had two small golden rings on the back of it, white shorts, a pair of sandals, and just like her cousin, she had a tail.
"SUN!" she cried out, "SUN! WHERE ARE YOU!?"
She kept looking until she noticed a small figure looking out to the ocean, and quickly recognized it as her cousin. Standing in the shallow water, letting the water wash over his feet as she stared out to the beautiful big ocean was none other than a 7-year-old Sun Wukong, he seemed at peace, and currently, he wore the same outfit as his cousin but with a single golden ring on the back of his shirt.
Starr ran over to her cousin and called out again, "SUN!"
Hearing Starr, Sun was taken out of his daze and turned to look at Starr, "Starr?" he called back.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
Sun just shrugged, "I just wanted to be near the beach... the sound of the waves sounds so good," He said with a smile.
Starr grumbled, "You can be by the beach Sun, but at least let me know where you're going before running off like that," She said. "Now come on, Master Masaki won't be waiting all day for us!" She said.
Hearing that it was time to see their master, Sun quickly ran away from the beach and back toward the clan's campsite, seeing him run away, Starr smiled and ran after her cousin.
As they ran through the camp, they arrived at a small area with a large white tent that had golden stitching, and waiting there were a few other kids, most had a single gold circle on their backs much like Sun, where only two others had two golden rings on their back like Star.
Starr caught up with her cousin and they waited eagerly for Master Masaki to come out, which he did not a minute later.
Master Masaki was a man with long dark brown hair, and he wore pale white and gold monk clothes and sandals like the rest of the tribe, however, no one had ever seen his eyes as they were hidden behind a pair of black round goggles.
But now, Master Masaki looked at the students with a smile, and gave them all a small wave, "Ah, hello children, are we all ready?" He asked.
"Yes, Master!" They all cried.
Master Masaki nodded, "Very well, grab your practice weapons and then sit around the arena," he said.
The kids went inside the tent and grabbed their practice weapons, and most of the kids grabbed wooden scimitars, while Sun, Starr, and another kid grabbed bo-staffs, once they grabbed what they needed, they gathered outside of a makeshift arena.
Masaki looked at them with a grin. "Now then, any volunteers for the first fight?" he asked.
Sun quickly raised his hand as did another kid and Masaki saw how fast they volunteered, so she chose them and told them to enter the arena, when both did, Sun had his staff at the ready and the boy took a fighting stance with his wooden sword.
"Are both of you ready?" Masaki asked with his hand in the air.
Sun nodded with a smile and the boy also grinned as he gave a quick nod.
Masaki nodded and threw his hand down, signaling for the fight to begin.
The boy charged in with his sword pulled back, ready to strike first, meanwhile, Sun didn't move, simply waiting for the right moment, and when the boy swung his blade, Sun thrust his staff forward just as the other boy's blade was halfway, it collided with Sun's staff and was knocked out of his hand.
As soon as the blade flew away, Sun pointed the other end of his staff under the boy's neck. The boy saw this and grumbled but knew that he had been beaten and gave up. To the other kids, in just a single second, the fight was over, Sun had easily beaten the other boy, just by disarming him and making him yield.
Starr smiled at how fast her cousin had ended the fight and around her were the whispers of the other students, each had some praise for the young Monkey faunus.
"Whoa! How'd he win so fast!?"
"That's amazing!"
"Sun's a freaking beast!"
"Man, I wish I could do that!"
Starr felt a sense of pride for her cousin as she knew that his training had paid off. Meanwhile, Masaki smiled at Sun's performance and ended the fight, sending Sun to sit back down next to Star.
"An amazing performance from Sun!" Masaki said, "I have no words as Sun didn't waste time and finished the fight rather quickly, as all fights should be handled, now then, do we have any more participants?" Masaki asked.
As the kids raised their hands and two others were chosen, Starr looked over and smiled at her cousin, "That was amazing cuz," she said. "At the rate you're going, you'll earn your 2nd ring in no time," she told him.
Sun smiled, "Thanks, Starr!" He said. "I'm sure you'll also get your 3rd ring soon!" He said.
The ring they were referring to was the golden stitch that they had on their backs along, and Master Masaki said that for their training to be completed, they needed to have 5 rings.
However, none of Master Masaki's students had ever achieved all 5 rings, and hearing that, both Starr and Sun wanted to be the first. This is why they trained so hard, even outside of class, they trained to become the best, to refine themselves, and to become the very best.
The two didn't care how long it took, they would become masters alongside Masaki, because they believed that once they were on his level they could finally fulfill their dreams.
You see, the two wanted to become Huntsmen and travel the world. They loved their tribe, and there was no doubt about that, even if their parents had been long gone and off to the afterlife, the tribe itself took care of them no matter what, but they wanted to see what the world had to offer.
They wanted to know what the Forever Fall looked like, they wanted to see the wild jungle of southern Mistral, they wanted to see the flying city of Atlas and perhaps even see the Frozen wastes, they even wanted to see the great city of Kuo Kuana, the greatest Faunus City ever built.
But they knew how dangerous the world could be, so, they decided to train and become the best fighters they knew they could be.

Now 3 years had passed since then and Sun Wukong was now at the age of 10. His hair had grown longer and more puffy, and he still wore the white sleeveless shirt, except this time, he now had 4 rings on the back of it, his shorts were now a pair of ripped jeans he had scavenged, and his sandals were now slip-on red shoes.
Like 3 years ago, he walked along the beach, his eyes closed and a content smile on his face as he listened to the roar of the waves, felt the cold ocean mist spray on him while also feeling the hot rays of the sun on his face. He opened his eyes and looked at the vast ocean and wondered...
'What else is out there?' He asked himself. 'Do the other kingdoms have beaches and palm trees? Do also live in tents or do they live in houses like some of the villages here? What's their weather like?'
As the questions were floating around in the young Faunus' head, he failed to notice a figure approaching from behind. The figure cupped their hands and picked up some water, and dumped it on Sun's head, and the cold water on his head and going down his body, caused him to jump and shiver.
The figure laughed and Sun turned around only to see Starr, who was now 13. She still wore her white shirt and like her cousin, had 4 rings on the back, her shirts were replaced by light blue tights, and she wore a pair of running shoes she had bought from a local town.
"Starr! What you go and do that for!?" Sun cried with a glare.
"I couldn't help it cuz!" She laughed.
Sun grumbled, "What do you want?" He asked.
Starr smiled and that's when she pulled out two batons from her back and held them out to show him. "I finally got my weapons!" She cried with a smile.
Sun looked at the batons and saw that they were red with some small orange ornate designs, which seemed to make them beautiful looking, almost like an art piece instead of a weapon.
"Whoa!" Sun said with amazement, "What do they do!?" He asked.
"Well in this form, I can duel wield, which I'm still getting used to using two weapons, but then there's its 2nd form, which I am far more used to!" She said.
Starr then slammed the two ends of the batons together and in an instant, they seemed to lock together before two other bars popped out, it was now a full bo-staff. Seeing the Mechashift weapon transform was like magic to the Sun, and the biggest smile came to his face.
"Pretty cool eh?" She asked. "I call it Shizukana kawa," She told him
Sun nodded, "The coolest!" He cried. "When am I gonna get my weapon!?" He asked with a smile.
Starr chuckled, "When you're heading off to a combat school," She said.
Hearing her say that, Sun's mood changed as a sad look crossed his face. "Right..." he said.
Starr saw this and looked at him with a soft smile, as she placed her hand on his head, "Hey, don't look so out of it, cuz, in three years, you'll be heading to Oscuro too!" she told him.
"But what about Master Masaki's training?" Sun asked, looking up at her. "We still need the 5th ring!" He said.
Starr let out a sigh, "Sun... You heard the Master," She began. "The 5th ring takes years to reach... Remember what Master Masaki said about what the 5th ring embodies?" Starr asked.
Sun slowly nodded, "To deal with or fight with "That which cannot be seen", whatever that means..." Sun said sadly.
Starr nodded, "Right, and we don't know what that means, hell, even Master Masaki said it would take us years to understand what that means," She told him. "And as much as we promised to complete his training before we left, we can't wait years to do that, even he said it himself, we had to go out there, see the world, and fight, to understand what the 5th ring is all about," She said.
Sun sighed, "I know... I wish... I wish I could know what it means... I feel like the answer is obvious and yet... I don't know what it is!" Sun cried.
Starr nodded in agreement with an amused smirk, "I know what you mean," She said. "For the past three years, I felt I should know the answer, that I should know what it means to fight that which can not be seen, but I don't... So maybe, the answer is out there," She said.
Sun let out a sigh, "Why can't it just be easy...?" Sun asked.
Starr chuckled, "Because that ain't how life works, cuz," Starr told him. "Life's all about beating you down, but the question is, do you keep letting life kick your ass or do you get back up and kick its ass back? " She asked.
Sun smiled, "I don't think you can physically fight life," Sun said.
Starr smirked and rolled her eyes, "Don't be a smart ass, cuz, you know what I mean," She said.
Sun nodded, "I know," Sun replied.
Starr smirked and turned around walking away with her staff on her shoulder, "Come on now, dinner's ready and you only have a few days left with your favorite cousin!" she said.
Sun ran after her with a raised brow and a smile, "Wait, you're not my only cousin?" He asked with an amused tone.
"Ha ha ha, very funny," Starr said.
Sun and Starr made their way back to the Tribe's camp where they would dine with everyone else, however, what they didn't know was that one of the many knockdowns of life was coming their way...

How's everyone doing? Short chapter eh? And like three-time skips in one chapter? Kind of fucking bizarre huh?
Don't worry, no more of that gonna happen as the next two chapters will be about Sun dealing with a certain event just like Jaune, but he's gonna handle it differently because he gets some spiritual help from a certain spirit~! Then we'll focus on how Sun becomes exactly what his father had hoped he would become... Invincible under the Sun!
Also, a little tidbit about Sun's parents!
Ishi means Stone in Japanese and Sun's mother is named after the very Goddess that technically created Sun Wukong in mythology.
So, the OG Sun Wukong was born from a divine stone (Ishi) which Mother Nuwa had used to repair the heavens, and from said stone, Sun Wukong had emerged and was born!
Anyways guys! Hope you enjoyed the chapter and are ready for what's next because as I warned you, things are gonna get freaking spiritual and may not make a lot of sense! BYE!
