Here is the eighteenth chapter in this series released in keeping with my self-imposed upload schedule for this series. Villains have attacked the USJ and what's worse one of the main villains has managed to split up the class with his Quirk as they tried to escape so now the students are scattered all over the facility and must fight real villains to survive. Can they do it and what hardships will they have to overcome to win in their first taste of real combat? Well it's time to find out all that and more as we see what some of the students do to handle the villains who dared to attack their school. That is all the administrative stuff I have, however, and while there are no questions that need answers there is a guest review to respond to which I will do now. Do keep the reviews and PMs coming as I always like hearing how much y'all are enjoying my work.
To Guest (guest), as always thank you for your support, I'm glad you're enjoying my work. This chapter will explain why Magna was here, he's the first of the third years that the class has met but won't be the last. The same English actors jokes will occur, I've already planned the one for at least the notable one of the two MHA voices Asta's VA does, but only when the times fit seeing as Magna's VA is in Class 1-A but it wasn't the right time. In time I hope to do all of the Black Bulls at least with the exceptions of Vanessa and Nacht as their VAs don't have an MHA character, and Nero's needs the absolute right time given who she voices in MHA. Torchwick's semblance never unlocked so it makes sense for him to be Quirkless though apparently he was supposed to have one but it ended up being Neo's instead. There is plenty more of this fic to look forward to so keep enjoying it.
Anyway, that is it for this pre-chapter note which means that it is time to sit back and enjoy the eighteenth chapter in Black RWBY Academia.
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to these three great franchises.
Chapter 18: Skirmishes in the USJ
The dark portal opened in the air and Ruby and Weiss fell out of it with Ruby still holding Weiss's hand as she dragged her friend behind her thus making sure that they were at least together for what was about to happen. The moment they were in the clear, Ruby realized that they were high in the air and falling down to the ground. A glance around her told Ruby that they were at the far end of the USJ, pretty much directly opposite the stairs they'd been on and about the same level and right between the Mountain and Conflagration zones putting them right above the indoor forest that was there.
It wasn't where Ruby would have guessed but she figured that whoever that mist villain was, he'd sent them in small groups, probably 1-3 total if she had to guess as that would make the students more manageable, to the various areas. All she could hope for was that they didn't know what the students could do and had thus do something like send someone Tsu to the shipwreck and not the conflagration area, but Ruby didn't have the time to think of that. She had to act quickly to get her and Weiss safely to the ground.
On that, and before Weiss could react as her glyphs would actually be about as useful if not more so and she was about to use one to catch them, Ruby pulled Weiss to her and held her tight as she flipped to dive to the ground before bursting. The red and white swirl, seriously Ruby had no idea why her Quirk did this when she carried another with it, but it did, and she shot to the ground in a burst. Her duration was enough to get them near to pull up and burst out so that she landed on the ground holding Weiss bridal style, again, as her boots slammed into the soft grass and steadied herself.
"Few, you ok Weiss?" Ruby asked looking down at the other girl in her arms.
"Yeah, thanks." Weiss said as she looked at Ruby oddly comfortable like this and impressed that Ruby could hold her with ease in such a carry but then again the girl did wield a massive scythe as if it was nothing, so she had to have some impressive strength to her. "But, um, you can put me down now."
"Huh?" Ruby asked before she realized that she was still carrying. "Oh, right, yeah sorry."
"It's ok, you acted right away and in a manner to save both of us." Weiss said as Ruby put her on her feet and Weiss made sure that she had her footing glad that the grass was mercifully flat, so she had no problem standing on it. "You've got good instincts Ruby, thank you. I was just going to create a glyph to catch us and then assess the situation before moving us to where needed but this works as well and does prevent us from being an obvious target."
"Oh, we're opposite the stairs in the wooded area between the mountain area and that fire zone." Ruby said as both girls did not notice or hear the high pitch scream from above and behind them as Aoyama fell from the sky as well to crash into a tree top a few feet behind them and where he would hide for the rest of the attack for his own reasons. "I saw it all as we fell before I bursted down."
"You did?" Weiss asked amazed. "You were able to make that kind of assessment in seconds?"
"Yeah, I'm used to free falls." Ruby said with a shrug as if it was nothing. "Yang loves a good one, in part because the landing actually aids her Quirk, and when I was training for the recommended exam I did a lot of practice with it as it's a great way to train Petal Burst. Understanding what is going on around me before I burst helps me angle things right and minimizes changes in my path thus maximizing how far I can go before my body has to reform though it helps that I'm good enough at math and physics to make quick calculations and angle assessments while falling. All that said, I can only hold a burst for so long at the moment but I'm trying to increase the time."
"I see, that's impressive." Weiss said causing Ruby to blush at the comment, which was surprisingly adorable on the girl and red was definitely one of the colors that looked best on Ruby. "You keep reminding me why Ozpin recommended you and why I was such a fool the other week for not seeing the logic in his decision."
"It's fine Weiss." Ruby said with a smile. "I was trying to overcompensate because of my insecurities about it, you showed me what I was doing wrong and that I should just embrace it and do things my way."
"Well, I'm not sure about the last part, the Ruby way works at times but sometimes other strategies would be better." Weiss said. "However, we…"
However, before Weiss could finish there was a cracking sound that sounded like someone stepping on a twig and instantly the girls were on edge, their ears alert. Even without formal training together they shifted to stand back to back with Weiss pulling Myrtenaster out and holding it in her left hand at the ready while Ruby pulled out Crescent Rose though she kept it in gun mode for the moment and held it at the ready, her finger off the trigger as she looked out and at the trees around them.
"We're not alone." Weiss said seriously as sounds became clearer and both girls knew at once that villains were approaching them. "I take it you're prepared for this kind of combat."
"Yeah, got all types just in case." Ruby said as she ejected the current magazine, not bothering to pick it up as no one else could use it so she'd retrieve it later, and pulling a differed one off her belt and slamming it home before cocking the gun to make sure that Crescent Rose was ready to go. "Remember, we're Huntresses, we can't use lethal force unless they're S-Class and in that case we should probably flee instead."
"Agreed, good thing I've got the protector on, and I made a little tweak the other day while I was servicing Myrtenaster just for this." Weiss said as she flipped out the cylinder of Myrtenaster and removed it to replace it was one she had in a pouch on her lower back. "This one will be perfect for human-on-human combat."
Just as Weiss finished speaking the people came out of the trees, a total of at least 20 of them in a ring around the girls. They were a mix of characters, at least half were nothing more than gutter punk trash, the kind of lowly villains that are a dime a dozen in the world who were clearly just here for the numbers advantage but likely had little training in fighting with their Quirks the way a Huntress would. 6 of the remaining 10 wore the black suits, red ties, and sunglasses of Torchwick's men and were carrying a mix of guns and machetes while the last 4 wore a strange light blue outfit with hoods over their heads.
Then, the apparent leader of the group stepped forward and the girls got a good look at him. Unlike the other he wore a white robe that fell all the way to the ground with a hood that was thrown back and a black stripe down the center and over the shoulders. In the center of the robe was a strange design showing a golden key but the head of it was three eyes on top of each other. It was frankly a strange and slightly creepy logo that neither Ruby nor Weiss could recognize as belonging to any known criminal organization but that was nothing compared to the lecherous look the man had in his eyes as his lank black hair fell around his face.
"My, my, Kurogiri, you've sent me a couple of nice pieces of trash to have fun with." The leader guy said his tongue flicking out lasciviously as he looked at Ruby who was the one he was directly facing. "I'm going to enjoy this."
"Just who are you?" Ruby asked as she and Weiss tensed, a feeling of revolution in their stomachs at the tone of the man before them. "Why are you here? I see some of the men that I beat up a while back, or similar goons as those henchmen are likely in prison now, and plenty of low level villain punks but you're neither."
"Ah so you're the one who beat our colleagues." One of the suited thugs said from off to the side which meant that he was likely the leader of that little group. "Junior was pissed that Torchwick lost some of us and to a little girl at that."
"Silence goon, you're nothing more than a subcontracted thug to aid in this." The leader guy snapped. "Myself and my fellow members of Master Licht's organization are calling the shots here, the Master made it clear when he allowed some of us to partake in your boss and his associate's plan to kill All Might. A sign of good will and faith to the alliance and a little fun for me."
"That doesn't sound good." Weiss whispered to Ruby.
"No, they're some third group other than this League of Villains and Torchwick's men." Ruby said back just as quietly. "And based on the uniform they're actually part of some organization so might be a little better trained that common thugs."
"Correct, trash." The man said his tongue lolling now as he leered at her having clearly heard everything that she'd said. "We are what society looks down on because we didn't fit what the mold that society wanted us to fit, but Master Licht lifted us up, showed that we are more than you citizens of Japan, that we can do as we please to those who are beneath us because it is the society that is wrong, not us. Consider it payback for what you corrupt powermongers did to us."
"What the hell are you getting on about?" Ruby asked a little confused by the man's slightly insane ramblings though they did send a shiver down her spine as it was clear that he had some justification for his evil. "Society has rules that must be followed, sure some suck but it's for the good of all and if you can't follow them then you should be locked up."
"Yes, you will do nicely for me." The man said his lust now clear as he held out his hand and the tip of his right index finger turned into a steel or stone blade, it was too far for Ruby to tell, having clearly just ignored what Ruby had said to him. "A young, tight, virginal body with and solid set of tits that that corset can't hide, unlike the other girl here who's disappointingly flat, just what I…"
Before the man could finish Ruby shouldered her gun and fired a shot right at the man, the crack of the round not quite as loud as it would be if she was using a standard bullet that was specially made for Grimm killing but still louder than the rubber ones she'd had loaded before coming to the USJ and used in the battle trial. That was because Ruby had switched them out for a magazine of specialty stun rounds she'd made especially for villain subjugation.
They weren't a lightning Dust infused round like she had on her as well, those were for stunning larger Grimm, but rather a special electrical round of her own creation that was designed to take down humans with an electrical shock while not having the force or mass to penetrate into the body. Basically, they were a mix of a suppression rubber round and a taser that wouldn't be lethal in most cases and in the ones that they might be it would be because of other unknown factors at the time that were beyond Ruby's control when she used the special rounds in self-defense like she was doing now.
She'd made the rounds in the wake of her encounter with those goons in Vale so that she could take down low grade thugs from range without having to rely on Crescent Rose's scythe mode. While they wouldn't work on some people who either had resistance to electricity, or electrical based Quirks like Kaminari's as it would actually power him up if she shot him, work on enhancement Quirks, the would work perfectly fine on most humans and this criminal was a normal human.
The lecherous leader let out a high pitched scream of pain as the round slammed into his crotch only a second after it was fired and he was jolted by the electricity that coursed through his body causing to spasm as he screamed. Normally Ruby wouldn't go for such a low blow but she couldn't help it, the man clearly wanted to do unspeakable things to her, and Yang had made it clear that if anyone, man or woman, tried that with Ruby then anything was fair game for any kind of punishment hence the crotch shot.
"Please tell me you went below the belt with that." Weiss said as the fried and very much unconscious man fell back to hit the ground in a smoking heap on the ground. "He deserved it for many reasons."
"Yup went down there, probably hit the left one if I had to guess, and don't worry Weiss, yours are perfect the way they are." Ruby said with a smile causing Weiss to go bright red. "You're not flat at all and you're really well-proportioned I'd say."
"That is not appropriate Ruby!" Weiss said as she flushed deeper remembering that Ruby had actually gotten a feel of one of her breasts so would know, and recalling how she also accidentally felt Ruby's as well.
"Sorry just trying to lighten the mood and, well, I know how some girls can be a little insecure about things like that and I don't want you to be." Ruby said softly. "You're really pretty Weiss, I don't want some utter creep to make you feel bad about your body, you shouldn't, nor should you listen to scum like him. Opinions of men like him are worthless and shouldn't get to you."
"Ruby…" Weiss said touched by her friend's words, she wasn't actually that insecure about her body though in their class Weiss couldn't help but notice that only Jiro and Nero were smaller in that area but Ruby was right, Weiss shouldn't let that get to her especially from some creep who Ruby just rightfully shot in the scrotum. "Thank you, now let's take out this trash, shall we."
"Already ahead of you." Ruby said as she fired another shot that hit one of the gutter punks in the chest frying her and causing the woman to collapse out cold from the takedown shot. "You've got to catch up."
"Taking out their leader was a good call, and I won't lose to you Ruby." Weiss said as she flicked a new addition she'd made to her handle that changed how the Dust in the cylinders was channeled and suddenly a crackling sound came out as the lightning Dust she'd used activate and shot up her blade to coat it in electricity and make it effectively a long stun weapon which in this situation was just what she needed. "Because here they come. Let's show them what future Huntresses can do."
"Get them!" One of the other hooded figures roared and at that the remaining 19, well 18 as Ruby took another down with a third shot, this time a Torchwick goon who clearly had no enhancements to withstand electricity, with a shot to the chest again, Ruby was avoiding headshots for obvious reasons, charged at the girls ready to end them.
A big man running on all fours thanks to a heteromorph body with bulging muscles charged at Weiss, but she easily created a large glyph that the man ran headlong into at full speed, knocking himself out. The force of the impact shook the glyph but didn't break it as you would need a lot more force to break a Schnee glyph.
The moment he was out, Weiss created another glyph to the side and moved it into him like a crude battering ram as fast as she could manage to launch his body to the side. She would have preferred to use gravity Dust to repel him but with the need for lightning Dust to stun the villains she didn't have any in the cylinder right now.
Still, the crude method worked as the man, one of the gutter punks, bulk easily took out two of his fellows who'd set up for a ranged attack on Weiss sending them away in a tangle of limps to crash into, and through a tree. They were out at least for the moment and Weiss knew that if they tried to get up they'd be dealt with so turned to stopping her next opponent, a mountain of a woman 9 feet tall and bulging with muscles that looked like she was roided out and as she'd not been like that before the attack started it had to be some Quirk that was doing this.
Again Weiss used a large glyph, this one larger and wider given the clearly enhance strength of the villain, as a shield and the woman just pounded on it roaring in anger, clearly whatever her Quirk did it robbed her of intelligence, or she just lacked it, and she was stopped by the wall though she did shrug off a few shots from Ruby that Ruby took while doing her own thing. Weiss trusted Ruby though and left her to what she was doing as Weiss spun on her foot, still holding the glyph shield and got her crackling sword up to intercept a downward strike from a machete wielding Torchwick goon.
The man yelled as the electricity conducted into him, the handle was metal as well showing the poor quality of the weapon. As this was happening Weiss saw out of the corner of her eye one of the hooded men leaping at her from behind as what looked like long needles not unlike a mosquito's slide out of his palms.
Weiss acted on instinct as she created a glyph under her feet and used it to boost herself up and flipped forward her arms wide as fast as she could so that the heel of her left wedge caught mosquito man under the jaw as he reached her. The move snapped his head back, though it didn't knock him out, while Weiss kept the blade on blade contact the entire time.
The moment she landed on her feet again she pushed back on the machete, the man sufficiently weakened by the electricity, to slash him across the chest with the tip of Myrtenaster, which was still sharp enough to draw blood even in a protective lining to blunt it and cut his tie in half though it was nowhere near a fatal slash. The slash did, however, impart electricity into him and he was blasted back out cold to hit the ground and roll away.
Weiss used the slash to spin and face the mosquito guy who was getting up, though he'd stabbed himself in the leg which seemed to drain him of energy which was likely part of his Quirk. Before he could yank it out, Weiss was on him as and parried the other mosquito needle. She followed it up was a jab to the center of his sternum. Naturally, he was fried by the electricity for a few seconds before he was blasted back as Weiss turned from his unconscious body to the giant woman still pounding on her glyph and ran at her just as her glyph was starting to crack.
Again Weiss used a glyph to boost her up and then made a second to serve as a platform so that she could flip over the woman, the cylinder cycling to the next Dust vial to keep the charge along the blade up, and jab Myrtenaster into the base of her neck. The woman was clearly too strong to be felled by a single jolt of electricity, so Weiss needed to basically inject it directly and pump it into her central nervous system. As she did this she dropped her glyph so that the woman fell to her hands and knees roaring as Weiss pumped the electricity in her, standing on a glyph to keep her balance.
It took three more vials of lightning Dust to take the woman down for the count, which Weiss cycled through as fast as she could, and then pulled Myrtenaster out as it cycled to the last of the vials and she leapt off the glyph and onto the ground to see three more villains, two gutter punks and a goon, waiting for her at a safe distance. They were clearly going for the range attacks, one even had a gun drawn, but Weiss wouldn't give them a chance to aim at her as she created a line of glyphs on the ground that zigzagged to them and confused the villains.
That was the last thing they got to see before Weiss shot at them, practically skating over her glyphs as she boosted her speed and slashed each one as she passed before finishing in a pose with her sword out and up to her left hand side as the last of the electricity faded as she stood there. Each of the villains were standing behind her for a second before they crumpled unconscious and sparking from the precision slashes Weiss had delivered on them. With them down Weiss turned as she heard the sound of a tree uprooting to see that Ruby had things under control.
That was because as this was all happening, Ruby had been busy. The moment that she took down her third villain with a shot she rushed to meet them with Crescent Rose still in her gun mode before bursting into her Quirk as she leapt forward, blasting through a pair of villains before she arched upwards and bursted out as she was still flying upwards in the air.
Her gun was still shouldered when she reformed, and she took two precise shots as she rose to hit the two she'd pushed through in the chest with a single shot downing them. For good measure Ruby then took three at the beastly woman beating on one of Weiss's glyph, but she shrugged them off as if they were nothing.
Ruby expected that though and sensed an attack coming so she bursted again as spikes missed her that had been sent towards her from one of the hooded figures. She bursted out and shot him before he could attack again and then bursted once more and shot down to a girl taking aim at Weiss as she kicked some hooded villain with mosquito needles coming out of his palms in the jaw, and slammed into her with the force of Petal Burst.
It was a cruder attack than what Ruby usually used but it worked as she sent the woman back and headfirst into an old tree, literally she got stuck in it, while Ruby arched up into the sky again to burst out. She then shot said woman in the ass to knock her out as she tried to free herself from the tree as it was the only target that Ruby could hit, as well as downing one of the two taken out by Weiss hurling a large heteromorph villain at two others with a shot to the back while the other one failed to extricate himself from his comrade's bulk.
Still in the air, Ruby assessed the situation around her. There were three more preparing to take on Weiss from a distance as Weiss downed the roided out woman and Ruby trusted her friend to handle them, so she turned her sights in the other three villains still standing, two of which were the hooded ones. All of them seemed to have close combat style Quirks and were looking up at her with one erecting a shield of what looked like plastic to protect them. Well, that was fine, Ruby had more tricks hidden in her combat skirt for those who could create shield.
She feinted a shot to get them nice and wary of her before she bursted again and shot up in an arc to get towards them before busting out to let gravity take over as she pitched forward and dove headfirst at them. Then she bursted once more and shot down at the ground before pulling up to skim it as she closed in on the trio who had the plastic shield and either a weapon or some close combat Quirk to handle her. However, at the last moment Ruby split herself into three swirls like she'd done against Asta with one going over them and the other two around.
The moment that Ruby's three parts met again she bursted out and twisted in the air, Crescent Rose already in her shoulder as she faced the backs of the stunned villains and fired three shots at them just as her feet hit the ground. Each shot was true and the trio spasmed and collapsed as Ruby slide over the grass on her boots to come to rest with her back against a tree.
She was about to let out a breath of relief when she heard the tree behind her groan and she leapt forward with a short burst of her Quirk before she spun to face it, her eyes going wide as the roots ripped up and the branches merged to form some strange tree monster. It was odd but not enough to make Ruby pause, and not realizing that Weiss had turned to watch her, as she leapt up and bursted to get high in the air.
When she reformed, Ruby was above the tree and with a flick of her thumb Crescent Rose shifted into its scythe mode. Ruby twisted her body so that her back was to the tree, Crescent Rose behind her with haft perpendicular to her back and the crook facing down as she looked over her shoulder at the tree thing that twisted back as if to look up at Ruby as she finished rising in the air and gravity took over once again.
The moment that it did, Ruby twisted in the air and spun her whole body to slash into the tree with her scythe and cut through it despite the protective coating on her scythe's blade. As she did it fell away and revealed the villain in it, he had some tree possessing Quirk it seemed, who looked stunned before the top of the crook of Crescent Rose slammed into his chest and blasted him down to the ground, hard.
Ruby wasn't done there however as she finished her spin and was still falling down and right towards the man who was still conscious. That didn't last as Ruby raised her right foot and brough her boot down hard on his face as she landed on the ground with her left foot next to the man's head. The moment her right boot slammed into the villain's face there was a crunching sound that made Weiss wince as Ruby seemed to hold her pose, slightly crouched and head bent forward with her scythe out behind her and the unconscious villain literally under her boot.
The whole sequence, and the fact that Weiss had noted that Ruby had taken out 11 of the villains by herself, and finished off one of the ones Weiss was able to at least slow down as well, really showed Weiss how skilled Ruby was. The girl may have had her insecurities when they started at U.A. but now that Weiss saw her in actual villain combat, which wasn't even the bread and butter of Huntress combat, really drove it home to Weiss that Ruby was more than worthy of her status as a recommended student and Weiss couldn't wait to really see firsthand what Ruby could do against Grimm horde.
That wasn't all though. Weiss wasn't sure what it was but in that moment she felt something coming from Ruby, something intangible that she couldn't quite place, but it made her want to follow Ruby, to trust her lead and judgement when it came to combat, and be better as a partner Huntress for Ruby. Basically, it was clear to Weiss now that her vote for Ruby as Class Rep was right because the girl before her was a natural born leader whether she knew it or not, which knowing Ruby was probably not.
"That should be all of them." Ruby said as she stepped off the face of the guy who'd possessed the tree that she'd just sliced through and then stomped on, a clear boot print on his unconscious and bloody face, and looking around. "How long will they be out for? The ones that we took down with electricity at least I mean."
"Not sure." Weiss replied as she headed over to Ruby as she collapsed Crescent Rose into her gun form but kept it out just in case. "Lightning Dust, which is what I used, should last for about half an hour I'd say, for those who can't recover faster than normal at least."
"Yeah about the same with my stun rounds with same variance due to physical size, health, weight, and gender so I'd put it anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes." Ruby said. "Shame we don't have Sero's tape, Yaoyorozu's Creation Quirk or even Mineta's balls to restrain them as they would be really useful around about now."
"That last one sounds so dirty especially given that he's clearly a pervert." Weiss said with a shudder at the little gremlin in their class. "Though they may actually be the best capture Quirk in the class."
"Thankfully he's a hero, he could use that for evil easily, or at least for pervy stuff I feel." Ruby said with a shudder. "Even Nero's Sealing Quirk might be useful, but we don't have capture Quirks, well I don't do you?"
"My glyphs can be infused with Schnee Dust." Weiss said as she switched out her now expended cylinder for her original one that had vials of each kind of Schnee Dust. "I could create glyphs and infuse them with gravity Dust to hold them but that would require me to stay here and focus solely on that and while I am sure that someone in the class is going for help, or at least trying to, and hopefully it's Ida as he's the best for that, I don't know how long it will take to get help given how our coms have been cut off. Ice Dust is also a possibility but prolonged exposure to ice can be bad."
"Yeah don't want to deal with causing serious injury to villains when it wasn't necessary, that's not legal I think, and I don't really want to get into trouble." Ruby said as she looked towards the middle where things sounded like they were heating up. "We should head to the middle though, see what's going on there and at least take out Torchwick. He's a bad dude and I got a score to settle with him though that woman he was with last time doesn't seem to be her, thank god as she actually has skill with her Quirk unlike these guys."
"Who is this Torchwick person?" Weiss asked. "Is he dangerous? Mr. Aizawa implied that you knew him, and it was tied to your recommendation."
"From what I've gathered he's a thief and underground scoundrel that I ran into in Vale almost a year ago now though I didn't learn his name until Mr. Aizawa mentioned it earlier." Ruby said. "He was trying to rob a store I was in, he was after your family's Dust actually, but I stopped him, beat up his goons up with just Crescent Rose though I did have to use Petal Burst at one point if I recall. Then I foolishly went after him and was almost killed but Ozpin's right hand Huntress, Glynda Goodwitch, saved me though the woman villain with Torchwick used some fire Quirk I think to counter Goodwitch's Quirk, and they got away."
"Oh." Weiss said her eyes wide at that." And, um, I take it that she brought you to Ozpin who was impressed and gave you your recommendation despite the fact that you may or may not have acted like a vigilante in that situation."
"Yup, he'd never seen scythe work like mine, only my uncle can wield one as well and he's the man who taught me how to use Crescent Rose." Ruby said with a nod. "Ozpin asked me what I wanted to do after the incident, and I told him that I really wanted to be a Huntress and go to U.A. so he recommended me. It was a real shock; part of my issues was just how I got it see. Also, I couldn't actually say what I did to get my recommendation as you're right I kinda acted like a vigilante, so I was skirting legality, other than an illegal use of my Quirk though that was technically in self-defense, but yeah that's how it went down, at least as an overview. Guess no point hiding it now that our teacher mentioned it."
"No but thank you for sharing, if you did that then it's no wonder Ozpin recommended you and unlike most recommendations I hear of that are mainly family connections followed by proving you're worthy of it, you actually just proved your worth without the need for connections." Weiss said. "Better than the one I'd have gotten from Ironwood if I'd gone to Shiketsu, that would have been pure family name and nothing else."
"You would have earned it in your own right Weiss." Ruby said as she began to move. "I know it, and you proved so by getting into U.A. via the normal exam which is really hard and another reason for my issues as the recommended exam has a higher pass rate, but we should move and at least see what is going on."
"Agreed though we can't get involved unless it's dire, ok." Weiss said though she was grateful for the support Ruby showed. "We're still students remember, and that bird thing with the creepy brain spilling out looked strong."
"Yeah, I've learned my lesson about rushing into things without thinking, Asta's sword really hurt my head." Ruby said as they moved. "So…"
Before she could finish there was a boom and they turned to see a massive explosion of water from the Shipwreck Zone. It was hard to miss.
"I hope that's our class doing well." Weiss said as she looked to it. "Because I'm sure that that was someone in our class though for the life of me I don't know who it could be because that's way too much water for Noelle to control so it can't be her."
"Same." Ruby said. "But we should trust them though."
Weiss nodded at that, and the pair redoubled their efforts to reach the middle and passing a hidden and shaken Aoyama who was still in his tree without noticing him. There was a lot going on and both girls hoped that their classmates were ok as they made their way to the middle of the USJ.
Asta let out a yell as he appeared through the portal with both Noelle and Nero holding onto him and noticed that he was pretty high in the air, higher than he'd been when they'd been warped away in fact, but still the ground wasn't too far from them. That was because Asta realized that they were heading to the flat top of the mountain that had the water slide going down into the lake that was the Shipwreck Zone. They were in essence above that zone, so Asta really wasn't sure what zone they were technically in.
Regardless, instinct kicked in as Noelle let out a scream and Asta grabbed her, his right arm around her back to hold her right bicep and his left going under her legs to get her in a bridal carry as he reoriented himself to be falling feet first to the ground. He felt Nero still holding his arm, so he called out to her as they fell, Noelle now silent though that was because she was in shock with what Asta had done.
"Nero, try to get a better hold of me." Asta called out. "I've got Noelle so don't worry about her."
Nero didn't say anything, she understood what was going on and trusted Asta, so she moved her arms to snake them around his neck and hold him there tightly with her biceps, pressing her chest to is back as she grabbed her right wrist in her left hand and sealed them to stabilize herself as they fell. To ensure that she was as stable as possible she got her legs up, her shoes falling away as she used the quick release she had on them to plant her bare feet on Asta's thighs and seal them there as well.
It was just in time as a moment later as Asta's feet slammed into the rocky top of the mountain, grunting from the impact but his strong leg muscles held out as he rode out the landing. When it was done, Nero unsealed herself from Asta and her own wrist and slide off his back to reach the ground as Asta continued to hold Noelle who seemed stunned though Nero saw the blush on her cheeks as she moved around Asta to see where they were. It seemed that this was a first for Noelle and that she didn't oppose it either.
"Noelle, you…" Asta began.
"Get your hands off of me!" Noelle yelled as she finally processed the situation and slapped Asta across the face as hard as she could causing him to drop her on her ass as he stumbled away.
"Strange way to thank someone, Noelle." Nero said as she offered Noelle a hand to help her up though Nero could easily tell that it was due to some serious insecurities that Noelle had that she really needed to work through.
"Yeah, well…" Noelle said blushing because she couldn't deny that she'd liked the carry and she didn't know why. "Th, thank you Asta."
"No sweat Noelle, we're all friends and classmates so we should help each other out." Asta said with a smile that only made Noelle blush more though at least this time it was partially out of embarrassment for slapping him. "We…"
"Crap, crap, crap, get out of the way!" A voice yelled from above.
All of them looked up and then leapt back in unison as a flailing Magna fell down from the sky, a closing portal above him, so they all leapt back right before Magna proceeded to slam face first into the hard rock, legs still in the air before he flopped down. Instantly Asta was on him and helping him up.
"You alright Magna?" Asta asked as he helped the upperclassman to his feet.
"Yeah, that's nothing, been hit too many timed to count by that giant's stone golems, she really has an issue with me for some reason, to let a little rock affect me." Manga said with a smile as he got up and adjusted his glasses that were surprisingly not broken. "So…"
"Right on time, just as I'd expect from Kurogiri, trust our warp gate to understand the importance of punctuality." A cool voice with clear superiority to it said from off to the side and the quartet turned to it confused. "He and his boss are the reasons why I agreed to put up with that petulant child he's protecting. Right, Kurogiri said that he'd scatter the kids at this time and for us to kill those who showed up. Looks like it's the fours of you so a good way to show that we are superior to that human garbage that they brought as cannon fodder. Very well, let's begin, I have a schedule to keep."
Standing there and holding a fancy looking pocket watch in his hand was a tall man with a large scar on the right side of his forehead that moved into a narrow line diagonally across his face. Behind him were 3 men dressed in identical uniforms that were slightly different to the man who'd spoken's outfit who were clearly subordinates so they were ignored as Asta, Noelle, Nero, and Magna focused on the clear leader of the bunch.
The man was rather strangely dressed in a light blue, hooded, tunic thing with a gray plate thing over the upper chest and shoulders that came to just below his elbows were it met a pair of black forearm cloth coverings of some sort that went to his hands covering the back and palm slightly, and a pair of pure white pants that were tucked into black boots that came to over his knees. Around his abdomen was a thick black belt that on closer inspection was actually 4 belts on top of each other with pouches on it and a light blue set of tail things that came from it to fall to his knees. He had a similar style choker around his neck and three black bands over his chest connected in the center.
Overall, it was not what they'd expected after seeing all the gutter trash come out of that warp villain's mist as this was a clear uniform of some sorts and the man's three subordinates behind him were dressed likewise only with blue cloaks, no belts and the hoods pulled up to hide their faces. Whoever these people were, they were more than just the standard low level villains that were down there simply for the force of numbers. Magna and Asta got ready while Nero and Noelle backed up as neither had either the control, defense, or ranged combat for an initial engagement.
"Who are you?" Magna asked. "And why have you attacked the USJ?"
"Who we are is irrelevant." The man said as he raised his hand towards them, palm out while putting his pocket watch away at the same time. "We're here to complete our mission and that is all you need to know. Now die like the low born wastes of space that you are."
"Well, that's rude." Magna said as fire erupted in his hands showing his flame based Quirk with one hand forming a burning fireball and the other, of all things, a baseball bat made of fire as well. "Guess it's time to knock you out and then we can get some answers from you once you're in custody."
Magna Swing, Quirk: Fiery Baseball. Magna can create various fireballs that have different uses, a baseball bat of flames that can be used to hit the balls or as a blunt weapon, and even increase his speed with fire so long as there is a baseball theme to it. Why this is the case is an unclear, but it works for Magna, so he doesn't really question it.
"A flame Quirk, a good counter to me but where you have that advantage I have skill and power over someone as lowly as you." The man said as ice began to form in front of his hand. "Be gone, you're ruining the schedule."
At that the man sent out a spike of ice from his hand while many more formed around him and blasted at them a second later. Instinctively Magna chucked the fireball at the man as if he was pitching a baseball, and it burst in the air, the trails of fire hitting and exploiting the ice spikes that were coming at them. It didn't get all the spikes, however, as they weren't all aimed at Magna, so Asta pulled out his sword and cut the ice that was sent at the girls to destroy it with a roar. The fight had begun.
"You still can't beat me; you are mere children of low, insignificant, birth and I can keep this up for a long time." The man said as he created more that Magna and Asta would be forced to defend against.
"You think that's all I can do." Asta said as he twisted his sword in his hands and swung the flat of the blade at the ice. "Then you're lose for certain because I'm going to beat you into the ground no matter what!"
The ice hit the flat but rather than shatter they were blasted back and at the villains who were attacking. The man seemed mildly surprised but that as he kept his hand up and the ice seemed to melt away before it reached him leaving him completely fine. As the ice was melting, a mist that wasn't thick enough to cloud their vision but did provide a lot of water vapor in the air thus giving the lead villain more to work with, not that the students knew that, billowed from the hands of one of the subordinates.
"So that sword of yours can reflect my ice back at me as well as destroy it." The man said his tone not changing at all. "Seems like a useful parlor trick but it won't defeat me."
"Master Heath, use the mist." The subordinate who'd created it said. "With your ice we can kill these brats just as we promised we would."
Heath Grice, no villain name and organization loyalty unknow, Quirk: Ice Shard. Heath can created shards of ice of varying sizes either from his body or by cooling the air around him and used them for various purposes. Not much else is known about the man or his Quirk.
"Yes, this is why I chose you for my team." Master Heath said. "I can create more and more waves of ice shards from this mist when we combine our Quirks. Let's see you protect the others with your fire and sword."
At that Master Heath sent more and more ice at them forcing Magna to fall back and protect the girls from above as Asta slashed at the ice coming at them from right in front of the 4 villains. It was a pure defensive effort putting the boys on the back foot as they worked hard to protect the girls. It was one hell of an attack to deal with, but they worked as hard as they could to keep them all safe.
Noelle saw this and knew that she had to try to do something so she leveled her new item, what Miss Code had called a wand because it looked like a wand you'd see in some fantasy manga apparently, and blasted out a ball of water from the end, controlling it through the tube in connected to the pouch, as fast as she could blast it with her Quirk. It was a good attack but at the last moment the ball of water veered to the side rather than hit Master Heath and instead hit the ground with a harmless splash.
"A water Quirk and from a girl who can't control it, how pathetic." Master Heath said his tone still neutral, but the scorn was clear in it. "U.A. must have really fallen on hard times to accept someone like you into their institution. This just shows that the end times are upon us, and a new age will rise from the ashes of this failed one, an age clean of lowly filth like yourselves."
"Stay behind us Noelle." Asta said as he and Magna continued but ice was getting though and forming from above them. "We've got this."
"I…" Noelle began unsure what to say to that.
"Noelle, you've got to do something!" Nero yelled at her as a shard of ice got past the boys and Nero wasn't fast enough to get away from it and it grazed her side, slicing her dress and cutting her deep enough to bleed though Nero was quick to put her hand over it to seal the wound right away. "I've got basically no defense but you do so we need you. I trust you Noelle, you can do it, I know it and Asta does as well."
Noelle was scared, she wasn't going to lie, but she knew that Nero was right and that she had to do something to keep them safe. She had the power and range with her Quirk, but she was afraid of what happened when she'd lost control. Even with her new item she wasn't sure what she could use water attacks especially after that missed shot showed that she still lacked accuracy.
That was when it hit her as more ice kept falling that Magna was blasting away with his fire as fast as he could. She didn't have to attack; she could simply defend herself and Nero so that the boys could focus on offense and with Hydromancy she could make her water stronger than some simple ice.
"You're right." Noelle said as she thrust out her left arm to the water that was flowing out of the top of the mountain thing and into the slide and grabbed hold of it with her Quirk before yanking it towards her as she pictured in her mind what she wanted to do with the water. "I'm a U.A. student, a proud Silva, and a future Quirk Knight. I will not let villainous trash beat me or any of us here. I will not let them attack our school like this! I may not be good at attacking with my Quirk yet, but defense is simple. You may have ice and mist Quirks, but I command water itself! Get through this villains."
With that the water arched up as it flowed from the mountain and at them causing all the attackers, even the man that had been called Master Heath by the subordinates, stared in wide eyed shock as they gasped at the magnitude of the power they were witnessing as the water, still flowing from the mountain top, spread out as it fell down on the students.
It then formed a dome over the four of them that the ice slammed into only to be destroyed by whirlpools appearing in the water to serve as an extra layer of defense as the water dome came down and touched the ground completely sealing them in the protective barrier. Only then did Noelle end her control over the from the mountain to focus on the shield they were in. As she did, all the mist around them was drawn to the dome of water and merged with it just reinforcing the barrier as Noelle held her arms out to keep it all under control.
"Damn, that's some powerful Quirk you got there." Magna said his eyes wide as he looked around the water dome they were in. "And did I hear you say that you were a Silva, as in House Silva?"
"Yes, I am Noelle Silva, the youngest child of the current head of the house and the first in my family to ever attend U.A. High." Noelle said as she realized that she could do it and the more that came to her the easier holding the barrier became and she began to relax a little and let her Quirk flow naturally which only seemed to make the dome stronger. "My Quirk is Hydromancy; I have full mental control over any water that is in my vicinity and that includes mist it seems though ice may be a little harder to handle."
"Wow, this is amazing Noelle, I knew that you could do it." Asta said with a grin as he kept his sword pointing out and at the villains in the other side of the water, so he didn't notice the blush that flared on Noelle's cheeks at his compliment though Nero did notice it. "This is just what we need to take this bastard down. Don't give up, we'll be fine now that we have you protecting us."
Even with the water and the whirlpools within it they could see out and saw the lead villain raise his hand and create more ice shards to send at them but once again they just burst on the water though it did cause all of them to flinch a little at the impact which was to be expected as he was attacking them. Still, it held, and Noelle breathed a sigh of relief at that as she kept her Quirk active and focused on controlling the water for a pure defensive move.
"I can do it." Noelle said with a smile. "I can control my Quirk to some extent at last."
"That's U.A. for you." Magna said to her. "You never know what you can do until you give it a try."
"You don't know how big this actually is." Nero said. "She almost killed herself, and us, the last time she used this much power while also destroying the top of a building."
"Yeah it's really impressive but I knew that Noelle could do it and now we'll use this to defeat these villains." Asta said with a grin as he looked at the lead villain and tensed himself before he suddenly dropped his sword.
Asta wasn't sure what was going on, but he felt similar to how he'd felt when his Quirk manifested. It was a feeling deep within him that was rising up and he embraced it. Perhaps it was the direness of the situation, the attitude of the man they'd ended up facing, the desire to protect his friends after Noelle had stepped up to protect them all so that they could focus on offense, or just a natural progression, but he felt it.
Well, whatever was the reason for this, as Master Heath's attack failed causing him to look surprised at the raw power Noelle was showing, Asta pushed off the ground and burst through the water. The moment he was through the water reformed as if nothing had happened thus keeping the protection it afforded despite Asta's leap out of it.
This got everyone's attention, concern from the students and shock from the villains, as Asta roared and a rend appeared in the air next to him. This startled the trio in Noelle's water dome as Asta's sword was still on the ground, though it disappeared as he closed on the villains without anyone noticing, while Asta reached to the rend and grabbed the handle of a new sword from it.
All any of them got from the sword as Asta drew it was that it had an ornate hilt with a four sided guard and was considerably smaller and narrower than the other sword making it lighter for Asta. That was something that in time would be really useful to him.
Right now, that wasn't what he was focused on as he brought the sword to bear as he neared the lead villain and thrust it forward and into the sternum of the man called Master Heath with enough force to audibly break a few ribs and blast him back and pasted his subordinates to hit the ground and roll away. As he did he coughed out a mouthful of blood showing just how much damage Asta had done.
"No, Master Heath." The mist Quirk user said. "We…"
He didn't get to finish as Asta landed on the ground and slid along it before he swiped the new sword to the side and struck him in the side of the face with a crack that broke his jaw, knocked out a few teeth, and sent him flying to the side to hit the ground and roll away unconscious from the blow. Of course, Asta didn't pay attention to this as he turned and rushed the next villain who was too stunned to react before Asta slammed his sword into the man's gut and bent him over it though the new one didn't have the heft to send him flying back like his big one had done to the Revchi man back in Hage.
Instead, as he bent over it, Asta pulled the sword back and raised it over his head the bring the pommel down on the back of the villain's head to drive him unconscious to the ground. That just left one of the villains to deal with but as Asta turned to him his body rippled.
"No way I'm staying when I know that we've lost." The man said as Asta began to near him. "And someone has to tell the master what happened while making sure the others here don't talk."
With that he melted away which confused Asta until he saw a patch of water on the ground that soaked into it much faster than normal. It seemed that the final villain could turn his body to water and move as it, so he was likely uncatchable at this point. Still, Asta had done it, or so he thought when he heard the yell from Noelle.
"Look out Asta!"
Asta turned in time to see that the main guy was back on his feet, blood running down his chin and hand over his chest but still in the fight with his hand raised. Suddenly a series of ice spikes in a connected, jagged, wave shot at Asta and would have skewered him but for Noelle's cry. However, because of Noelle's warning Asta was able to leap up and onto the ice spikes, pushing off it with all his leg strength to leap over it and at the villain.
This time Asta needed his big sword so he tossed the new one to the side knowing that he could summon it again if he needed it and as he fell through the air at the stunned villain he raised his hands over his head and the rend appeared with the large handle of the sword. That was when the girls and Magna realized that it had vanished from where it had been which the girls at least knew could happen.
"I will not lose to you!" Master Heath roared as he tried to create more ice but what he'd done had taken a lot out of him, which even with his wound shouldn't have been that much of a hinderance.
"To late, villains like you will never win!" Asta roared back as he brought the sword down and slammed it into the man's shoulder with enough force to break it and drive him into the ground with enough force to crack the rocky ground on the plateau atop the mountain.
The man let out another cough of blood as he fell down unconscious and Asta landed over him straddling him and grinning down at the vanquished villain. He'd done it, he'd taken down some real villains and won. He was just annoyed that he'd let one get away.
"We've got to restrain them." Magna said to the girls. "Can either of you help there. I've got one fireball that can do it but it's still in the testing phase so can cause burns at the moment which might not look good when the cops arrive to take these bastards away."
"I can." Nero said as Noelle stopped her control and the water burst around them raining on them, which was rather annoying, but Nero ignored it as Noelle had saved them so getting a little wet wasn't a bad tradeoff for the defense that she'd provided.
"Alright come with me." Magna said as he hurried forward. "What do you need?"
"Just their belts will do." Nero said as Asta roared his triumph now that it was definitely over before finally moving away from the ice villain.
"He's a reckless fool, an idiotic and obnoxious loudmouth boy with absolutely no social standing." Noelle said to herself as she watched Nero and Magna strip the villains of their belts and then bind their hands and feet together before Nero used her Sealing Quirk to seal them fast and heal any wounds enough to ensure no issues with the various broken bones, before adding in a whisper only to herself as she felt her face flush. "But he's also kind of amazing in his own right."
Noelle had to shake her head at that to get the thought out. She'd been dealing with this strange feeling around Asta ever since he'd praised her for her Quirk's power after saving her in the battle trial. However, actually seeing him in action like this, beating three villains practically singlehandedly and not just normal villains but clearly villains with strong Quirks and training really intensified the conflicted feelings that were now waring inside of her. To add to all of this he'd even gotten a new sword showing that his Quirk was more than it appeared, and it was already a damned good Quirk to begin with.
Little did Noelle know but the seed planted in her heart that day when Asta had saved her in the battle trial, and which had begun to sprout was now fully formed and wrapping her heart in roots so deep no amount of denial could pull them out. Of course, Noelle's stubborn pride would ensure that her denial was strong but from this moment on any chance of avoiding this path was gone and her struggles of the heart official began.
"Alright help me get them to those boulders and propped up." Magna said snapping Noelle out of her thoughts and she walked over as Magna began to drag the main villain over to some boulders that were on the far edge of the plateau they were on that they could sit the captured villains up on. "No point in going anywhere just yet seeing as there are bound to be more villains wandering around the USJ so it's safer to just wait here for rescue. Plus let's see if these bastards will start talking now or we just wait for the police to take them away."
"Right." Asta said as he picked up the guy who'd made mist while Nero looked at Noelle who huffed but after a moment helped the other girl carry the final villain to the rocks.
It took them a moment but soon they had them propped up in sitting positions with the leader in the middle and the two grunts flanking him. They were still pissed that one got away but three, including the leader, was still good in the long run.
"Alright you three, time to wake up." Magna said to them once the villains were nice and situated. "All we've got to do is wait until the police come to haul you to jail so you're done for. May as well start talking now, who knows it might help you later."
"You think?" Master Heath said as he slowly came too and looked at Magna as the trio of first years stood around him.
"Oh, I know they will because you bastards attacked a U.A. facility." Magna said. "Soon the staff, all top level pros mind you, will be here and then the police so you're going to pay for your crimes, that's a certainty. You'll spend the next few decades in prison but first the police will make you spill everything about this attack and why you did it."
"They won't." Master Heath said his voice calm as he knew what he had to do. "The end of this era is upon us, and they start today when the Symbol of Peace in this nation is killed here by League of Villains, and we see their true strength in our alliance. I just won't be around to see it. Activate, ice burial."
The man said it with such a calm demeanor that it took the quartet by surprise. That turned to horror a moment later when there was a sudden explosion of ice from within all three men's guts, spikes bursting from them in a macabre display of blood that instantly froze along the cold ice as the bodies of the three men slumped forward, only the face of the main guy visible his eyes blank and vacant in death.
"To go that far to protect information." Magna said his eyes wide under his glasses as Noelle and Asta stared in horror and revulsion at the sight before them having not seen death before, especially a death as violent as this one was. "That's some serious loyalty to whoever's in charge of their group for them do that rather than be taken into custody."
"What was that bastard thinking?" Asta said as he recovered and growled at what had happened. "To kill himself and his comrades, just who are these people? What kind of villains are we dealing with here?"
"Fanatics and extremists." Nero said the only one seemingly unphased by this which was a little surprising to the other three but as none of them knew Nero's past or the massacre she'd witnessed they didn't realize how little a death like this could phase the girl. "Still, I didn't expect them to go to this kind of extreme. Even if the main guy used his own Quirk on himself I don't think he could do it for the others. My guess is that they've got someone, or at least know someone, talented in support items who created an item that could do this for them to swallow. It was voice activated if I had to guess seeing as the guy said what sounded like a command at the end."
"But how could they?" Asta asked still angry at what he was seeing. "To treat life so casually as if it was something to just throw away when things went bad like this. It was as if death meant nothing to them. I can't understand people like that."
"That was their last resort and shows the depts of their fanaticism which also means that if they have fellow members here then they might also have suicide items in them should they lose so we should let the pros know about that when they arrive." Nero said as she turned from the sight prompting the others to do the same. "Though we did get a few solid pieces of information from them."
"What?" Noelle asked as she tried to push the images out of her mind, but she knew that it would be a while before that happened even if her brother Nozel had warned her that she would see death in this line of work as one of his tactics to get her to not become a hero, not that it worked of course. "What did we ger from them?"
"He said that the Symbol of Peace will be killed by the League of Villains." Nero said. "Which confirms what that warp guy said earlier, their target is All Might though they were clearly not prepared for him to not be here, nor did they do their research on us I feel given the surprise they had to Asta's Quirk. I don't think those three were with this League, though, they were too skilled for gutter trash, but they are associated and implied as much with that alliance reference. There's no point staying here with those corpses now, we may as well go down to the ground of the USJ and make our way back to the others."
"Yeah I hope they're ok at least." Asta said looking around the plateau they were on. "But, er, how do we get down from here?"
"There's a path over there that is used to access this point for maintenance or training up here though the later rarely happens." Magna said as he began to walk towards it but as they moved there was a boom and they rushed to the edge of the plateau to see a plume of water shoot up from the Shipwreck zone below them which was made worse by the now clear lack of a shipwreck in it. "Come on, let's hurry."
The three first years nodded at that as they hurried after Magna to get down with Nero not bothering to put her shoes back on. All had the same thoughts on their minds after what they went through and had just seen. Hopefully, the rest of the class was doing ok as well.
The blast of water was Izuku Midoriya using his Quirk via his fingers on the water's surface and thus forcing the villains to the center of it via the displacement the air generated from his finger flick with his Quirk at full power caused. After that Tsu, carrying Mineta, leapt to safety and used her tongue to grab Izuku. That would have cleared it, but the move inspired Mineta to chuck a large amount of his sticky balls at the villains that caught them thus removing the threat they posed. From there they'd reach the edge of the lake that faced the center of the USJ, but they were far from the only ones fighting.
In the domed zones, Ojiro was alone in the Conflagration Zone using hit and run tactics to take out the various villains that were there as he worked to stay alive while Tokoyami and Koda were the ones who had been sent to the Squall Zone and fighting together there. Meanwhile Momo had made an insulating blanket for herself and Jiro to let Kaminari discharge all his electricity to take down all the villains they were facing in the Mountain Zone though unfortunately for them one villain was unaffected and as they recovered preparing to make his move against the students.
On the stairs, Sero, Sato, Shoji, and Ochaco worked together following Thirteen's injuries to get the mist villain, Kurogiri as he'd been called by other villains in the facility, away long enough to allow Ida to reach the exit and escape the building to go back to the school for help. He was the class rep and the fastest regardless so he could do it and he knew that he had to so that the school was aware of what was actually happening here which would be the key in end.
Elsewhere Bakugo and Kirishima were finishing up in the Earthquake Zone and getting ready to take the fight to the big villains with Bakugo having deduced the weak spot on the misty bastard and wanting payback, while Todoroki had finished handling the villains in the Landslide Zone unaware of Hagakure hiding there as well and thankfully not hitting her with his ice in the process. He used his ice to get the answers he needed and like Bakugo, Kirishima, Magna, Asta, Nero, Noelle, Ruby, and Weiss, began to converge on the middle of the USJ as the attack on the USJ intensified.
The battle of the USJ is well underway and Weiss and Ruby have shown they can fight well together while Asta and his crew handled that situation well. As you can tell, the fight with Heath was the replacement for the Saussy Village incident with the added addition of Asta's new sword which came into the anime around this time in terms of episode count as it was first seen in episode 18 so a fitting place for it. I still have an idea for that dungeon adaptation but it's going to have to wait and be slotted into the MHA canon in the right place as with everything so Asta gets his second sword here instead. Other than that this was your standard chapter where the kids see the real evil of the world, the rest of the battles taking place as the canon goes, and now they are all coming together for the climatic conclusion of the USJ incident that is coming next week. That is all that I have for y'all however so I will leave this chapter off here. If you like this story please follow, favorite (this story and me) to keep up with it and leave a review or PM, your support is what helps motivate me to keep up this work and any questions posed before the next chapter is uploaded I will try to answer. Until next time.
