Author's Note: Hey everyone! I'm here with another chapter! Much earlier than some past times. I just found it really easy to write this one. Hope you enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 5: Two of a Kind Part 1

The next morning would be interesting for the twins. As the two were sitting down eating their cereal alongside their parents in the kitchen, Jazz would enter the room filled with excitement.

"Oh my gosh," said Jazz, "They said yes!"

While Danielle just raised an eyebrow at her sister, Danny took a more… Proactive approach. "Who said yes," asked Danny, in a mocking tone, "The person you asked if you were a conceited snob?"

"No," said Jazz, as she glared at her brother, "'Genius magazine' said yes. They got my letter and want to put mom on the cover! Aaaaahh!"

"'Genius magazine'," said Maddie, while Dani thought, while taking a bite of cereal, "'Genius Magazine'? Sounds boring… Now if that was 'Game Informer'... That would be something to get excited about in my opinion, sis."

"'Genius magazine'," shouted Jack, as he grabbed the magazine from his daughter, "Is it the swimsuit issue?"

Hearing her dad ask that would lead to Dani having a coughing fit. She was not expecting that to be asked by her father at all. When she calmed down, Jazz would reply, "Dad. 'Genius Magazine' is for women geniuses, by women geniuses, and about women geniuses.

"So, it is the swimsuit issue," said Danny, before he realized what he said, "Oh gross. Mom's going to be in the swimsuit issue." This would cause Dani to once again enter a coughing fit.

"Why bro, why," thought Dani, as she calmed herself down, "Why would you say that! I love Mom but I don't want to imagine something like that either!"

"It is not the swimsuit issue," said Jazz, annoyed at Danny's antics, "But it is the perfect magazine to show that I have normal parents instead of a couple ghost-hunting freaks."

"Yeah," said Dani, as she took another bite of cereal. She just wanted to be done with this conservation now. Thinking about swimsuit issue and mom... Well, that wasn't how she wanted to start her day. She continued, "I wish you luck with that Sis. You'll need it."
"They're not ghost-hunting freaks," said Danny, deciding to come to the aid of his parents.

Before Jazz could retort though, their father did. "Hey Danny. Danielle. Speaking of ghost-hunting," said Jack, with his usual enthusiasm, "Check out the latest in ghost-hunting technology. The Ghost Gabber. 'Genius Magazine' has to be interested in this."

Grabbing the device from Maddie, he would push it towards the twins as he explained what it did. As for what it looked like, it was a handheld device with lots of buttons and lights with two screens. One of the screens displayed what looked like an audio detector or something. It was about the size of Tucker's PDA. "It takes the mysterious sounds that a ghost makes," continued Jack, "And translates them into words that you and I use every day. Here, try it."

"Uh…" said the twins, as they looked nervously at one another, "Boo?"

The device would respond, "I am a ghost. Fear me."

Taking a gulp, Danielle and Danny would look at their parents with worry before deciding it was probably best to excuse themselves before things got out of hand. "I think…," said Danny, with Danielle finishing the thought, "We're just going to head to school."

The device, which was still in front of the twins, would respond, "I think. Fear me. We're just going to head to school. Fear me." Chuckling and smiling at their parents, Danielle would quickly scarf down the remaining cereal in her bowl before she and Danny both quickly dashed out of the kitchen. As they dashed down the hallway, they grabbed their bags and bolted out the front door onto the sidewalk. Where they immediately began to head in the direction of the school.

"That was too close," said Danielle, with a relieved sigh as the duo changed their pace to a casual walk, "Why do Mom and Dad keep making devices that could out us to them."

"Your guess is as good as mine, sis," said Danny, as he rubbed the back of his head, "Your guess is as good as mine." After a few minutes of silence, Danny would ask, "So how did your little date with Zack go last night, Dani?"
"D-Date," stuttered Dani, as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks and she looked wide-eyed at her brother for even suggesting the idea, "It wasn't a date, Danny. It was just two friends meeting up to hang out, is all."

"Sounds like a date to me," said Danny, with a teasing smile.

"One, it wasn't a date," said Dani, with an annoyed expression, "Two, at least I can get one."

"Oof, that's low, Dani," said Danny, as he brought a hand to his heart, "Now I know it was a date for certain though." Danielle would glare at Danny who would quickly raise his hands up in surrender, before asking, "So where did you guys go? Do anything fun or interesting?"

"Hmmm," said Dani, "Oh, we just went to Amity Skatepark is all," said Dani, "Zack wanted to show me his moves and tricks on his board. Was honestly really cool. I never imagined a wooden board would allow a human to get as much air as he did.

"That sounds cool," said Danny, who was happy for his sister, "Anything else happen afterward?"

"Uhhh," said Dani, as she remembered Zack's question, "I guess... Before I answer that, Danny, mind if I ask you something?"

"Sis, you can ask me anything," said Danny, with a smile, "What's the question?"
"Do you think… Do you think I would make a good skateboarder," asked Dani, "I mean… Do you think it fits who I am as a person?"

At first Danny didn't respond, he just glanced at his twin every once and awhile as the duo walked. It was only when the school came into sight on the horizon that Danny finally responded back. "I think… I think that's not really for me to say, Danielle," Danny said, as he comfortingly smiled at his sister, "That's entirely up to you. Honestly the question shouldn't be 'Do you think skateboarding fits who I am as a person,' but 'Is this something I think I would like to do? Do I think I'd enjoy it?' And honestly, I think you would enjoy trying it out. You love playing Tony Hawk Proskater after all."

"Danny," whispered Dani.

"Now I have to ask," said Danny, "Did Zack ask if you'd like to try skating?" When Dani nodded her head yes, Danny continued, "Did you try?"

"N-no," said Dani, shaking her head, "But... I wasn't certain it would fit who I am. Plus... I didn't have anything like a helmet or skateboarding gear with me."
"I'm sure Zack would have let you use his," said Danny, "If you asked."

"Probably, but…," replied Dani, "I… I'm still just not sure. Like I told Dad I want to design the rockets you go up into space in. What does that have to do with skateboarding?"

"Probably nothing," said Danny, before chuckling a little, "But that shouldn't stop you from trying something new, sis. You can enjoy doing something that doesn't have anything to do with the path you want to take in life. They are called hobbies for a reason."

"I guess," said Dani, before Danny continued, "Are you sure it wasn't because you were scared of doing something completely new in public and making a fool of yourself if you messed up?"

It took a moment, but eventually Dani would nod her head yes. "Now that I can understand," said Danny, "And honestly… I don't have anything to say about that… There's been plenty of times over the years where I've decided not to try something because I didn't want to be made a fool… If you want my advance though.. For skateboarding, that is, I'd just try moving around on the board at ground level first. If that interests you, then you can try to do more advanced stuff like tricks and grinding and stuff. That way you don't have to worry much about the gear like helmets and such."

"Yeah… That sounds reasonable," said Dani, with a nod, "Thanks bro!"

"No problem, Dani," Danny replied, "No problem."

The day would go by relatively fast after that morning in Dani's opinion. Things would speed on by as the twins and their friends went about the day. Thankfully, when the twins, Sam, and Tucker hung out with Zack at lunch, the musical skateboarder didn't press Danielle on her decision about trying to skateboard or not. And instead the group talked about other things.

The school day, itself, was also going fairly well. Until Biology class, that is, when the class got back their tests from yesterday. "I got a 'D'," said Danny, in the library after class, "All this ghost-hunting is taking away from my study time."

"You sure that's not the only thing cutting into it," said Dani, deciding to be cheeky, "Not your hours-long play sessions of DOOM."
"Oh shush, you," said Danny, as he glanced and glared at his sister's test paper which had a 'A -' on it, "Not everyone can be a genius like you, Danielle."

"So much for your dad's saying of the 'Fenton's being a family of geniuses'," said Tucker, as he looked over his friend's paper.

"I can't get a 'D' in Biology," said Danny, with a frown, "My parents will kill me."

"Not if you pull your grade up," said Sam, as she looked back at Danny from her spot on the library computer, "By doing an extra credit Biology assignment…" After a moment of typing, an image of a certain animal would appear on screen. "On this magnificent creature," finished Sam.

"A purple-backed gorilla," asked Danny, as he got up to look at the screen himself.
"Yup," replied Sam, "Extremely rare. Only two left. Both male. After this, they're gone forever."

Hearing this, Dani had a feeling she knew where this was actually going from their purple-eyed friend. "Which is why you are going to prove he deserves to be set free," continued Sam.

"But Sam... I don't have time for extra credit," replied Danny, "Or your agendas."

"Actually, you do," said Tucker, as he looked over his PDA.

"He does," said Danielle, with a raised brow.

"Of course," said Tucker, "All he has to do is learn to manage his time better. I've decided to become his time manager. It's the least I can do after Sam made me let all those ghosts out."

"Wait, back up," said Dani, as she and Sam eyed Tucker, though Sam's was more of a glare, "When you did what, Tuck?"

"I don't know," Danny replied, ignoring his sister's question for a moment and replying to his techno-geek friend about not being too sure on this idea.

"It'll be my job to keep track of your schedule," Tucker calmly said, "So you can do your schoolwork and catch all those ghosts Sam let loose." Hearing this, Dani would look over to Sam and notice the intense hatred their goth friend was giving the techno-geek.

"I'd stop talking if I was you, Tucker," thought Dani, eyes wide, "I... I wouldn't want to be on the opposing side of an angry Sam…"

"Remember what happened when I let you manage the thermos," said Danny, as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"And I've already scheduled, 'Don't let Tucker handle the thermos'," said Tucker, as he showed his PDA with those words to the ghost boy on screen.

Sighing, Danny would relent and reply, "I suppose we could have a trial period."

"See? I've also scheduled some zoo time so we can check out that gorilla," said Tucker, "Let's go." With that Tucker would make his way towards the door with Sam and Danny in tow. When they reached the door, they would turn around and notice Dani wasn't following them.

"You coming, Sis," asked Danny, as he turned to face his sister.

"You go on ahead," said Danielle, "I'll catch up with you guys later. I promised Zack I'd hang out with him a little after school."

"Gotcha Dani," said Sam, as the trio waved bye, "I'll text you with where we'll be when we arrive at the zoo."

"Sounds like a plan," said Dani, as she began to pack up her stuff and the trio left, "Wonder what Zack will want to do… Maybe the skate park again? Guess I'll find out when I get to the parking lot." With that Danielle would leave the library herself as well.

A few minutes later, Danielle would arrive at the student parking lot. At first, she couldn't spot her skateboarding friend, but after a moment, she would find him sitting on the curb of the parking lot tightening the screws on his skateboard.

"Hey Zack," said Dani, as she approached him.

"Hey Dani," said Zack, as he briefly looked up from his tightening of screws to look at his raven hair friend.

"What are you doing," asked Dani, as she set her backpack down and sat on the curb alongside her friend.

"Just tightening these screws," said Zack, with some effort being heard in his voice, "Was scared that it would come undone if I didn't."

"How often do you need to do something like that," asked Danielle as she looked at the underside of the board.

"Maybe once a week," said Zack with a shrug as he finished his work, "Usually, it's just things like this, but occasionally I have to replace things like wheels and such."

"Interesting," said Dani, as she reached out a hand and spun one of the wheels.

After a moment of silence, Zack would clear his throat and ask, "So Dani… Did you think any more about what I asked yesterday? About trying to skateboard I mean?"

"Uh... Yeah, a little bit," said Dani, as she leaned back and looked up at the sky, "Asked my brother about it too. He actually gave me some sage advice for once."

"Really," said Zack, "What advice did he tell you?"

"Said I should just ride around on a board at ground level and see if that interests me enough to want to try going further than that," said Dani, as she offered Zack a smile, "That way I don't need to get all that other equipment if it's something that doesn't interest me in the end."

"Makes sense," said Zack, as he flipped his board around and placed the wheels on the asphalt, "So you want to try that now then? A parking lot such as this is a perfect place to try such a thing."

"I... I guess I could," said Dani, with a nervous nod.
"Great," said Zack, as he stood up from the curb, "Though… Here, You should probably borrow my helmet just in case." With that, Zack would bend down and pull his helmet from his backpack and plop it on Dani's head. "There ya go," said Zack, as he lightly tapped the top of the helmet, "All safe and secure."

"Tha-thanks," said Dani, blushing slightly as she realized how close Zack was to her when he did that. Suddenly, Dani's power would activate and cause her pants to go intangible and fall to her ankles before becoming tangible again. "Eep," said Dani, as she bent down to pull her pants back up.

"Huh," said Zack, as he heard Dani's panic, "What's wrong, Da- Oh?!" Immediately, he would about face from the girl, his face a bright red. "I-I didn't see anything Danielle," said Zack, stuttering like a fool, "I-I promise."

"I-its al-alright," said Dani, also stuttering like crazy, "I-I got my pa-pants back up no-now."

"Stupid powers," thought Dani, "Why did you activate now of all times! Ooo… This is so embarrassing… I'm lucky only Zack is here though… I… I have no idea what I would think if other students were here…"

"Ar-Are you sure," said Zack, "I... I don't want to-"

"I said there back up," said Dani, slightly annoyed that Zack made her have to repeat herself but also happy he was being considerate, "You can look now."

"Alright," said Zack, as he turned to face the raven-haired girl again.
"Sorry, you had to see that," said Dani, her face still slightly flushed with embarrassment, "I... I forgot to wear a belt today."

Zack would look at Dani curiously as he nervously looked her up and down. "You... You wear a belt with sweatpants," asked Zack, slightly confused.

"Uhhh yes," said Dani, now realizing her error, "Uh... pair of pants is really loose on me. Used to be… My sister's before she lost a lot of weight."
"Sorry Jazz," thought Dani, as she realized she just called her sister fat.

"Okay then," said Zack, deciding to let it slide for now, "Maybe... Maybe we should wait for you to try the board then. Until you get that belt."

"Yea-Yeah," said Dani, as she nodded her head in agreement, "That would probably be best…"

With that embarrassing debacle over, Dani would say goodbye to Zack and leave the school grounds. As she was a few blocks away, she sighed. "Argh," shouted Dani, raising her hands up in the air before saying in a normal voice, "I hope Zack doesn't think I'm a freak now or something. A belt. Really, Dani? I usually always wear red sweatpants. Why would I need a belt… I should have said something like… My pants are missing the waistband or drawstring or something. Arghhh…"

Stopping in front of an alley, Dani would debate with herself about some things. Until finally, she said, "You know what. I need to clear my head, and a good flying session always helps." Walking down the alley, Dani would say, "Going ghost!" and would take off into the air soon after.

With the wind blowing her hair back, Dani sighed as she took a breath of the fresh air before thinking back to what caused her embarrassment a few minutes prior. "I love having my powers," thought Dani, "But… Man, I wish I could control them better. That was so embarrassing before. Danny's lucky he hasn't experienced something like that… Though he probably wouldn't have it as bad as me."

Flying over the lake in the park, Danielle would stop over it as she looked at her reflection in the surface of the water. She could still see faint blush on her cheeks from that whole ordeal. Bending down, Dani would flick the water causing ripples to cover the surface and knock out her ability to see her reflection. "Why did my powers even activate," thought Dani, "All Zack did was put a helmet on my head… I just don't get it." With that Dani would fly off into the city to explore and wander, not realizing her phone in her pocket was vibrating to let her know Sam was calling her to let her know where to meet the trio at the zoo.

After flying for a few hours by herself, Dani would begin to make her way towards home when she realized she forgot something. Digging her hand into her pocket, she pulled out her cell phone and flipped it open to see a message waiting for her from Sam.

"Oops," said Dani, when she realized she had forgotten she was supposed to meet up with the group after meeting with Zack.

Clicking one of the buttons on her phone, Sam's voice would be heard through the speaker, "Hey Dani! Danny, Tucker, and I are finally at the zoo. We're in the observation tower that's open to the public. Meet us there when you get this message, okay?"

"Sorry, Sam," said Dani as she closed and pocketed her phone, "I completely forgot about the zoo. I'm on my way now!"

With that, Dani sped off towards the zoo and would make it there in only a few minutes. As she was passing by the entrance to the place though, her ghost sense would go off. "Oh great," muttered Dani, "What now! A ghost zookeeper!"

Suddenly a scream and blue/green blur went by Danielle towards the observation tower that the girl had been heading for. It smashed itself into the tower's windows. Breaking the glass and sending shards of glass everywhere. "Well, I either found Danny or the ghost," said Danielle, as she headed towards the tower, "Either way, that's where I'm starting."

Upon approach, Dani would hear Sam say, "Oh my gosh. Ahhhhh-," before she was inexplicably silenced.

"That's the ghost alright," thought Dani, as she arrived at the hole in the windows to see what looked to be a metallic looking ghost with green fire for hair.

"Now for the ghost child," said the ghost, as he stood over not only Danny, but Tucker who for some reason were asleep and hugging each other.

"I don't think so," shouted Dani, as she zoomed forward and punched the ghost in the jaw. Launching the ghostly foe back towards the wall.

"What," shouted the ghost, "Who hit me!"

"I did," said Dani, as she floated in place and cracked her knuckles while thinking, "That hurt a little. Is this ghost made of solid metal or something?"

"What! Another ghost kid," shouted the ghost, "But-." After the ghost would look between Danielle and Danny, he would add, "Oh I see. That's perfect. Ghost twins. Even rarer. Your pelts will look lovely hanging from my walls."

"Okay, that's... Eww," said Dani, with a look of disgust, "I don't know who you are but there's no way me or my bro-" Dani would never get to finish her sentence though as the purple-backed gorilla, which somehow got freed, jumped through an open window instead of the broken one and slammed into the ghost. Knocking itself and the ghost onto a nearby table where it began to pound on the ghost.

This wouldn't stop the ghost for long though. For it quickly backhanded the gorilla before tossing it off themself. The gorilla would attempt to attack the ghost again, but it merely phased through the wall that the table sat next to and left. This left the gorilla pounding the wall with its fists very heavily and loudly which would wake up the sleeping Danny and Tucker.

"Aaahhh," shouted Danny and Tucker together three times, albeit for different reasons each time.

"Gorilla. Loose," said Tucker, before spotting Dani, "Also. Dani. Here."

"Hey Tuck," said Danielle, waving a hand at her techno-geek friend, as Danny shouted, "I've got him! I'm going ghost!" Becoming his ghostly self, Danny would fly forward towards the loose gorilla who did attempt to run from Danny. But the ghost boy was too fast for the Gorilla, and he merely picked the gorilla up by the arms and started to move them both back towards the gorilla habitat. Going intangible when necessary.

Danielle, for her part, seeing her brother having some slight problems with carrying the gorilla would fly over quickly and lend a hand to the boy in transporting the creature.

"All right I don't know how you got out," said Danny, before looking at his sister, "Or... Do I?"

"Don't look at me," said Dani, "I just got here."

Danny would eye Danielle closely as he tried to ascertain the truth and would add, "But you're going back, gorilla."

With that Danny and Danielle would place the gorilla back in its cage before both twins then flew over to the cage controls with Danny pressing the close button soon after. Locking the creature in. A few moments later, Sam and Tucker would join the twins at the controls.

"Danny, I meant to tell you," said Sam, on approach, "There was a gho-"

"I wonder who let the gorilla go," said Danny, realizing something doon after, "Sam."

"Yeah," said Tucker, realizing the same thing, "Wait'll we tell everybody at school learns you let out a 400-pound gorilla."

Sam, though, was unamused and merely raised up a polaroid of Danny and Tucker sleeping and hugging each other which caused a "pffft" to escape Dani's lips. "Good one," thought Dani, "Man, wish she hadn't had to use that now. Yearbook would have been so much funnier."

"Or we just keep this our little secret," said Danny, as Tucker and himself stared wide-eyed at the photo.

"Yeah, we really don't have any proof she did it, you know," agreed Tucker.

"Real smooth guys," said Dani, through a few chuckles.

The group wouldn't arrive home till the early morning the next day. As the group entered the front door of the house, the twin's mother would notice them enter and ask, "Danny. Danielle. Look at you. I'm not sure I like this overnight zoo research of yours, Danny."

"Mom," said Danny, with a yawn, "Come on. We're just a bunch of kids. In the zoo. At night. Alone."

Hearing this, left the room silent for a moment, so Danielle would speak up, "We'll be in our room if you need us, Mom."

With that, the group would head up the stairs together before stopping in front of the twin's door. "Here we go, Danny," said Tucker, "Home in time for some well-deserved rest." Before the sound of Tucker's PDA is heard, he takes it out to check it, only to add, "But be quick because you've only got 13 minutes."

"Really, Tuck," said Dani, "Thirteen minutes. What's the po-" Only to be interrupted by her and Dani's ghost sense going off. Looking at each other, Danny would reach forward and grab the handle to their door's room. Opening it. Nothing would be on the other side at first, before the ghost that Dani and the Gorilla had been fighting earlier became tangible. "Hello Ghost Twins," said the ghost, as it raised its arm and fired a ghostly net at the duo. Catching them instantly and pulling them into the room before closing and locking the door behind them.

Author's Note: Hope you all liked the chapter. And Zack's characterization. Quick question: What do you think of Dani taking up skateboarding or skating? Let me know in a review. I'd be glad to hear from you.
