Chapter 6: Two of a Kind Part 2
"The human ghost twins in their natural habitat," said the ghost, as it stood over the captured twins with a satisfied smirk.
"Who are you," asked Danny, slightly scared as Danielle just looked pissed at the ghost.
"I am Skulker," said Skulker, "A collector of things, rare and unique. And you, Ghost Twins, are all that and more. Hahahaha." The whole time Skulker talked he would be holding some sort of device that was showing an image of a cage filled with other ghosts of varying shapes and sizes. Due to this, he wasn't noticing where he was stepping and stepped and broke apart a model spaceship that the twins had worked on together a while ago.
"Hey, our rocket," shouted Danny and Danielle, with Danny shouting after, "I built that," and Danielle shouting, "I designed that!"
"Pity though," said Skulker, as he looked down at the twins, "I'd hope you'd put up more of a fight."
"Oh, don't worry," began Danny as he looked at Danielle who knew exactly what her brother wanted to say, and finished with, "We will!" A moment after, Danny and Danielle changed to their ghost forms and phased through the net that contained them before launching themselves at Skulker. Danny would send a punch at the metallic ghost, while Danielle would send a leaping kick. Both would connect with Skulker and send him flying back into the wall. Growling all the way.
"I didn't get a chance to beat your ass at the zoo before," said Dani, as she floated next to her brother while cracking her knuckles, "But now I get to correct that mistake and send you packing!"
"He was at the zoo," said Danny, glancing at his sister, "When was that?"
"Right before you and Tucker awoke from your hug session," said Dani, with a teasing smile appearing on the tips of her mouth, "That's why the Gorilla was making so much noise and why he was in the observation tower."
"Can we forget about the hug," shouted Danny, turning to his sister for a moment, before Skulker said, "Bring it, whelps." Skulker then raised his right arm and fired two miniature rockets at the twins. This surprised them as they didn't expect the ghost to have armaments of any kind. Which allowed both of them to be hit and go flying backwards. Dani would end up smacking into the wall above her bed before sliding down to the backboard of her bed itself. Danny, on the other hand, would be flung through the wall into Jazz's room. Luckily for the wall, he would have enough time to go intangible, unluckily for what Danny landed on in that room, which was Jazz's computer, his intangibility would cancel out the second before he landed on it. Breaking and cracking the computer monitor.
"My computer," shouted Danny, loud enough for the whole house to hear, "Oh wait… That's Jazz's."
"Jazz isn't going to be happy," thought Danielle, as she stood back up and Danny re-entered the room and the fray alongside his sister, but Skulker was ready for them. As both twins tried to punch the metallic ghost again, Skulker merely sidestepped them before backhanding both down towards the floor. Skulker used so much strength that both twins broke through the floor and ceiling into the kitchen below. Landing and smashing apart the dining room table into pieces. Apparently, Tucker also appeared to have been in the room, but they didn't really notice the techno-geek as Skulker jumped down and shouted, "Come Ghost Twins! Time to see your new home."
Skulker would then grab both twins by the neck before going intangible and phasing through the floor down to the basement lab. As the trio came closer to the floor, Skulker would break the intangibility and slam both twins hard to the floor while keeping his hold on them.
After a moment of satisfaction at his work, Skulker would then raise both twins by the neck into the air, and chuckle to himself. He clearly was enjoying himself and the hunt.
"What are you doing," shouted Danny, to their captor and attacker.
"Where are you taking us," shouted Danielle, as she clawed at Skulker's arm to try to get him to release them to no effect.
"Bringing you back to my world," shouted Skulker, "Where I can put you both on display.":
Slamming Danielle back down to the ground, he would replace his hand with his foot on her neck while Dani was stunned from the hit. "Ack," gasped Danielle, barely able to breath as Skulker's foot constricted her windpipe.
With his now free hand, Skulker then pressed a little button on the arm holding Danny, and a moment later the Fenton Portal turned on.
"What," gasped out Dani "You can… Turn on... The Portal! How is... That… Fair."
"Ha! At last," said Skulker, deciding not to even humor Danielle before re-grabbing the ghost girl with his free hand and slowly walking towards the portal, "Time to put you both in your cages."
"Noooo," shouted Danny and Danielle, as Skulker got closer and closer to the portal… Only to be stopped by Sam cutting in front of Skulker and the Twins whilst holding her hands out to the side in protest...
"No is right, Danny," shouted Sam, "Cages are wrong. How do you think Sampson feels being in a cage?"
"But-," Skulker began to say before being interrupted by Sam again, "He's a beautiful animal and deserves to roam free!"
"I-," Skulker once again tried to say, with Sam once again interrupting, "Should be ashamed." Hearing this, Skulker would look very unamused, but by this point he had lost his focus on the twins which Danielle took advantage of. She would send a kick out to Skulker's chest, which not only caused the ghost to release the twins but send him flying backward…
Right towards the stairs and Tucker, who was unable to fully get out of the flying Skulker's way and ended up being dazed and dropping his PDA onto the floor.
As Skulker stood back up, he would look at the human boy and see the impressive, streamlined tech lying next to him. Or it was at least impressive compared to what Skulker already had anyway.
Grabbing the PDA, Skulker said, "That technology. So sleek. So advanced." Looking at his arm for a moment, he would add, "Hmm… I wonder…" Skulker would then pull off a piece of his arm which at first unnerved the twins, especially Danielle, until both twins realized right then and there that the ghost was in a high-tech battle suit. Skulker then placed the PDA on his arm, and it began to integrate itself with the suit.
"Hey! I got 3 more payments on that," shouted Tucker, which Skulker replied to by just backhanding the kid away, "Ahhhh."
"Marvelous," said Skulker as the PDA finished its integrations into the suit.
Not liking what they were seeing, the twins jumped into action. Both would fly full speed and head on at Skulker, but Skulker merely raised his arm with the PDA at the twins. And a second later a high-tech looking gun sprung from the PDA. Skulker then fired it twice, one at each twin, who were taken by surprise by this turn of events and was hit. Causing them both to not only go flying back towards the wall but to have ghostly cuffs surround their ankles and wrists. As the twins slid down the wall to the ground, Sam would shout, "Way to go Tucker! You just made the bad guy worse!"
"How was I supposed to know my PDA was ghost compatible," asked Tucker, incredulously.
"Say goodbye to this world, children," said Skulker, as he stood before the twins, arm still raised as he prepared to finish the twins… But in the end, nothing would happen to them. For at that very moment, a musical beeping would soon emit from the ghost's arm. From the PDA, in fact.
"What," shouted Skulker, as he looked down at his arm, "'Fly to the library. Get a book on eating habits of the purple-backed gorilla?'" A moment later, a jetpack would spring from Skulker's back and launch him up into the air, with him adding and shouting, "No, stop! The hunt is not over!"
Seeing no way to stop it, Skulker would soon go intangible and disappear from the group's sight and the building. And a moment later the cuffs around the twins would disappear.
"What happened," asked Sam, as she helped both twins to their feet.
"No clue," said Danielle with Danny adding, "At least we got a minute to relax and figure this out." Or so they both thought…
"Danny, Danielle," shouted Maddie, from up the stairs, "Where are you? Somebody here wants to meet you!"
Looking at each other, the twins would then remember the current sight of their room and would shout, "Oh shoot! Our room!" Not wasting any time, both twins would go intangible and speed up to their room.
Just as they arrived and changed back to human form in their room did Maddie open up the twin's door, and say, "Danny. Danielle. This is Connie from 'Genius Magazine'-"
"Don't you people ever knock," shouted Danny, as he grabbed and slammed the door shut in front of his mother's face.
A moment later, Dani would say, while looking around their destroyed room, "Jazz is going to kill you for that you know."
"Yes. I know that, Danielle," said a deadpan Danny.
A few hours later, the group would find themselves at the front entrance to the school. Both twins were on high alert, as Danny asked, "Any sign of him?"
"Nope," said Tucker, as he looked around, "He hasn't bothered you guys for 38 minutes. Maybe he's hunting someone else now?"
"Why do I highly doubt that," said Danielle, as she rolled her eyes before noticing what Tucker had in his hands, "Say Tuck… How many PDA's do you have anyway?"
"Just two, Dani," said Tucker, "Good thing I beamed all of Danny's info into this one and backed it up. Global thinking, Danny. The sign of a quality time manager." After hearing some beeping, Tucker would push Danny along and add, "Come on. You're late."
Before Danielle could join her brother though, Zack would call out to her. "Hey Dani," shouted Zack, "You doing better?"
"Hmm," said Dani, as she turned to face the silver-haired boy, "Doing better?"
"Uhh.. You know," said Zack, his cheeks gaining a bit of pink, "Yo-You bring your belt today?" "Belt," asked Sam, who had stayed behind with the raven-haired girl as Tucker went with Danny, "Why would she need a belt?"
"Oh, uhhh…," said Zack, unsure if he should say, "Uhhh…"
"It's alright, Zack," said Dani, who had also gained a bit of pink herself from thinking about what happened yesterday, "I… Uhh… Kind of lost my pants yesterday when I was with Zack, Sam… Forgot to have my belt on." Dani would try to emphasize the word belt in a way to signify to Sam she meant her ghost powers had acted up without Zack catching on. It wasn't that she didn't trust the boy, but she still didn't know everything about him and wasn't sure how he would react if he learned she was half-ghost.
Luckily Sam took the hint, and replied, "Oh! Your belt right. I understand."
Zack would raise an eye at Sam's words, but wouldn't say anything about it. Finally Dani would reply, "Uh yeah. I brought my belt today, Zack. Or rather… I remembered to get a new drawstring for my pants. Was a pain to thread it through the waist though."
"I can imagine that," said Zack, with a laugh before the trio heard the second bell go off, "We should probably get to class, but I'll just ask real quick. Would you like to try to skate today after school?"
"Uhh," said Dani, unsure what to say. Part of her wanted to say yes, but if this ghost just happened to still be after her and Danny then she didn't want to put Zack in any danger. Luckily Sam caught onto Dani's hesitation.
"Sorry Zack," said Sam, as she grabbed Dani's hand and pulled the girl along to their first period class, "Me and Dani had something already planned for today. Maybe she'll be able to tomorrow."
"Ah. That's all good," said Zack, as he decided to head on ahead of the girls, "See you both later than Sam and Dani."
When Zack rounded a corner and got out of sight, Dani would sigh before glancing at Sam as they walked and said, "Thanks Sam. I honestly didn't know what to say to Zack."
"I understand," said Sam, with a shrug, "He doesn't know yours and Danny's secret. Anyway, let's get to class before Mr. Lancer finds us and gives us detention."
"Agreed," said Dani, "I don't really want to have detention again."
Two periods later, the group would be exiting their English class with Mr. Lancer. As was tradition for Danny, the boy exited the classroom and made his way towards his locker, which was luckily right by this classroom. Opening the combination lock, he would begin to pull the lock of the locker upward when it burst open, and several chains burst out of it. Tying themselves around the ghost boy.
"Daaaaaah," shouted Danny, as it happened, and he was slammed into the lockers on the opposite side of the hall.
"Danny," shouted Sam, Tucker, and Danielle, before Danielle looked around the immediate area.
Upon seeing no one but them, she would shout, "Going ghost!" and change to her ghost form before jumping in front of Danny when Skulker appeared via blue flames in front of the boy.
"I have you now, children," shouted Shulker, as he raised his arm and aimed an arm cannon at the twins. Danielle and Danny's eyes would go wide at this. They had no clue if Danielle's powers would work on Danny with the chains on. Or if they could even work against Shulker's weapons. Luckily, the musical beep from the integrated PDA would be heard again.
"What," shouted Shulker, as he looked at his arm, "'Go to the news stand and purchase magazine with article about purple-backed gorillas?'" WIth that, Shulker's jetpack would once again spring onto his back and he was blasted off once again.
As Shulker, again, got far enough away, the chains around Danny would disappear. Seeing that her brother was safe, Danielle changed back to human form.
"Hmm, I have the same thing on mine," said Tucker, confused.
"I think we'll blow that one off," said Danny, as he rubbed his arms a little. Those chains had scuffed him up a little.
"Agreed," said Sam and Dani together. Both not wanting another run in with the ghost.
A few more periods would pass before anything exciting would happen again. This time it was lunch for the group. Currently, the gang was sitting at the bleachers on the football field. Danielle and Sam had just finished their lunches and were currently chatting to each other about something, while Tucker was still chewing down on his food. Danny, on the other hand, hadn't touched a single inch of his food. He was too concerned about Skulker showing up again.
Seeing this, Sam and Danielle would turn to Danny and Dani would say to her brother, "Bro. Eat something. Please."
"I can't eat now," said Danny, as he looked at his sister and Sam, "He could be anywhere. I'm honestly surprised you could even eat Danielle. Aren't you worried?"
"Eh," said Dani, shrugging, "I'd rather be full and prepared. Then have an empty tank and be weak."
"Did you just compare yourself with a car," said Danny, "... Or Dad."
Dani would roll her eyes at her brother but decided not to reply to that comment. For her and her dad's sake. After a moment, Tucker would finally speak up when he noticed that Danny's container of milk had to still be drunk.
"Hey, this food was scheduled to be eaten," said Tucker, as he picked up the jug and pulled the top open. Only for some glowing mass of blue tentacles to pop out of it and immediately latch itself onto Danielle's face.
"Aaaahh," shouted Dani.
"Dani," shouted Sam and Tucker, as Danny shouted, "Sis!"
"Now, children, once more, I, Skulker, shall-," Skulker began to say as he landed on the benches behind the group. Only for the sound of music to once again emit from the integrated PDA, and for Skulker to read out, "Take photos of gorilla?"
Once again, Skulkers jetpack would spring out from his back and blast him off again causing the tentacles to disappear from Dani's face a few seconds later.
"Well, at least he's regular," said Sam.
"Yeah, almost like a schedule," said Danny.
"Tentacles," muttered Dani, as she recomposed herself, "Why did I have to get the damn tentacles…"
"Tuck, what's the next thing you have scheduled for me," said Danny, turning to their techno-geek.
"Gym," replied Tucker, "Why?"
But all Dani and their friends saw Danny do was smirk.
Gym class would come and go for the group. Skulker did once again appear after gym class ended but Dani and Sam never got to see him. Though man did Dani wish she could have been there to see what the trap did to Dash. As it stands, all she had to go on about what happened was what Tucker and Danny told her and Sam later. Luckily, this whole ordeal did give Danny an idea on how to catch and stop this ghost.
So the group would head to the next thing that Tucker had on his schedule for Danny. The zoo.
While Sam and Tucker played decoy down in the gorilla habitat for Skulker to appear, the twins waited in the observation tower. They watched the gorilla, or rather the disguised Sam and Tucker, from the binoculars that were kept up in the tower. The whole time they were ghost form.
"So you really think he'll meet us here," said Dani, as she handed the binoculars to her brother.
"Yep," said Danny, as he took and began to use said binoculars, "If it's in my schedule, he's going to go there. He bound himself to it by integrating Tucks PDA to his suit."
"Okay," said Dani, "But how do we beat him?"
"Tuck will handle it," said Danny, with a shrug, "I believe he will anyway."
"If you say so," Dani replied, with a shrug but not entirely believing their techno-geek friend could handle the situation.
After a moment of silence, Danny would ask, "So.. I didn't get to ask this before but… How did your meeting with Zack go yesterday after school?"
"Hmm.. Yesterda-," said Dani, before she yet again had to remember what she was trying to forget, "I-It went fine… Nothing happened. Nothing at all."
"It doesn't sound like no-," Danny said, only for Dani to interrupt, "Nope. Nothing happened. Zilch, Squat. All we did was talk. Drop it bro."
Danny would raise an eye at this, but wouldn't pry further. He didn't really have time for that either since just then is when they heard voices, or rather shouts, coming from the gorilla habitat.
"Stop," shouted Skulker, "Stop! I can't stop!" Hearing this, both twins jumped into action.
Jumping off the tower, the twins would speed towards Skulker, fists ready to give Skulker a pounding. "We can help with that," replied Danny, as the twins punched Skulker back towards the curved walls of the cage. The twins didn't stop there though as they continued to speed towards Skulker. Hitting him with different punches and kicks over and over again.
This lasted for a bit, but would soon end with Skulker just stepping to the side and allowing both twins to pass by him. As the twins barreled by, Skulker would make a tri-barreled shoulder gun appear, which would cause both twins to gasp in fear.
Tucker would have their back though, as he said, "Uh uh uh," and typed out, "10:11 Polish armor." This caused the gun to become a polisher which immediately assaulted Skulker's face.
"Tucker," shouted Dani, "Stop fooling around!
"Power him down already," shouted Danny, "Now!"
"Relax," said Tucker, "Everything's totally under-" But Tucker never got to finish that statement as Skulker fired an arrow at Tucker's PDA. Ending its existence. "-Control," Tucker added, "Aw, man, I still had 4 more payments on this one."
"Tucker, you're fired," said Danny, as both twins turned their attention back to the ghost.
"Very well," said Skulker, "I planned on simply capturing you both and letting you both live the rest of your lives in a cage. But now I will rest your pelts at the foot of my bed."
"Ok, that's just gross," said Sam, with Dani nodding her head in agreement.
"Well, ghost children," said Skulker, "Any last words?"
"Just this," said Danny, as Danielle glanced at her brother to see what he wanted to do. What she saw was him patting his head, covering his eyes, pounding his chest, and scratching his butt.
"Ahh," questioned Dani and Skulker together with Skulker adding, "What are you doing?"
"Calling a friend," was all Danny replied.
Suddenly, the sound of an angry gorilla was heard, "Graughhh!" Before it came slamming into Skulker's back with a bang.
"You learned his language," Sam said, surprised.
"Well, sure," said Danny, as he scratched his butt, "All he does is this."
The first thing the gorilla did was pound on Skulkers back over and over again which elicited a "yay" from the group. The gorilla then punched Skulker several times in the gut and groin, which got more of a "Ohhh" from the group. Next, the gorilla upper cutted Skulker in the jaw, before finally ripping off the ghost's arm and slamming Skulker into the ground. Then the gorilla jumped on top of Skulker and began tearing the ghost limb from limb.
"But I still don't understand why the ghost needed a high-tech battlesuit," said Tucker, as Skulker's arm landed by the group's feet. Before several sounds of pain would be heard coming from Skulker.
"Let me go," shouted Skulker, as parts went flying towards the group causing them to have to dodge them. Finally, his head would come speeding towards Danny, but luckily Danny caught it.
"I am the Skulker," came a whiny voice from the head, "The Skulker! Do you hear me! Fear me! Fear me!"
Seeing two little green feet sticking out of the head, Dani would grab one of them and pull the being out. Holding them upside down. This would reveal what to Danielle's eyes was a small green frog-like ghost.
"I am the greatest hunter of the ghost world,"shouted the newly revealed Skulker, "You will all fear me!"
"Uhhh… Thermos please," said Dani, which Tucker happily obliged.
As the thermos sucked Skulker in, the ghost would yell, "You haven't seen the last of me! I shall capture you all! You shall all be mine! Mine, Do you hear?!"
As Tucker capped the thermos, the twins who had been floating landed and changed back to human with Danny saying, "Cool. Let's go home."
"But you didn't get anything to use for your report," said Sam, "You're still going to get a 'D'."
"Oh that's okay," said Danny, as he bent down to pick up the PDA that had been integrated into Skulker's armor, "We stopped the bad guy. If that's all I got done, then that's-" The whole time Danny was speaking the gorilla would be approaching the group. As Danny turned back to look at the gorilla, he would notice something, and shout, "Oh! My gosh!"
The next day during class, Mr. Lancer would have a copy of 'Genius Magazine" before him. This copy had a picture of Maddie and Danny alongside a heavily edited picture of Sampson on the cover. "Brooding genius Daniel Fenton did what no other researcher dared to do," Mr. Lancer read, "He got close enough to this rare purple-backed gorilla to realize Sampson was actually a Delilah." After a moment Mr. Lancer would add, "Nobody at that zoo even bothered to see if it was a boy or girl?"
"That's weird, huh," said Danny, "Well, maybe they were respecting her privacy."
"Well Fenton," said Mr. Lancer, "I have to admit I'm impressed. You wanted to get your grades up so bad, you risked getting mauled by a gorilla. A C.
"I almost got killed by a Gho-rilla," shouted Danny, "And all I get is a 'C'?!"
"Life's a big mystery, isn't it, Fenton," said Mr. Lancer, as the bell rang and he made for the door, "Next time you want to get your grade up, try the library."
"Well, it's better than a 'D' isn't it, bro," said Dani, as she, Sam, and Tucker approached Danny's desk.
"Oh man, if only I had something to take this out on," shouted Danny, before another voice was heard behind the group.
"I am the Box Ghost, and once I empty you of your useless papers," shouted the Box Ghost, "Your marvelous squareness shall be mine! Ha ha ha ha ha!
"Hello misplaced aggression," said Danny, as he changed to ghost form. Something Dani didn't do when she heard the word misplaced.
"Must know this ghost and how to deal with them already," thought Dani, "Honestly, it doesn't look tough… Danny can handle him."
"You've got five minutes," said Tucker.
"That's four more than I need," said Danny, as he flew towards the Box Ghost ready for a fight. Or rather a beat down.
Author's Note: Well, another episode down. I'm happy with how this turned out overall. If you'd like to tell me what you thought of the last three chapters, feel free to leave a review. Next up is Parental Bonding. Learning to use overshadowing should be fun for the twins. See you next chapter!
