Here is the fifty-fourth chapter in this story released in accordance with the release schedule, which in this case is the two year anniversary of the publication of this story. Hosu has been attacked and all the players are in position thanks to various things during their own internships, or are at least on a train about to be intercepted in Hosu, but how did this happen in the first place? Well let's see as we shift focus and look at the origins of the attack the chaos that is to come in Hosu which the heroes will soon have to deal with. Anyway, hat is all the administrative stuff I have for y'all and there are no questions to answer there is a guest review to respond to which I will do now. Do keep them coming as your support is the best motivation for me to keep producing chapters at this kind of rate.
To Guest (guest), yup Fuegoleon is showing how a royal should act, or in this case a member of the upper class, without the need to be changed by exposure to Asta and Yuno and with the changes that have to occur due to the nature of the story he's already seen Asta's nature and understands his potential. Mereoleona v. Endeavor would be some fight, might be best to have it in a desert as the amount of fire could be a problem anywhere else, and I'm sure the pair of them fighting together would be enough to terrify most villains into submission, wherever Mereoleona is that is. Yeah I always enjoy putting Solid, Alecdora, and Nebra in their places, did that in another of my crossover stories during the adaption of the reception where both Solid and Nebra got knocked out, and in this one it worked that Nero got a moment to shine thanks to Asta's distractions and forced an apology from Solid. He's not living that one down for a while I feel. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.
That is it for this pre-chapter note so it is time to sit back and enjoy the fifty-fourth chapter in Black RWBY Academia.
Disclaimer: I own nothing related to these two great animes.
Chapter 54: Unleashing Upon Hosu
The man didn't look back as the purple and black swirl that was a warp gate opened behind him. He'd just come from a portal like that and so knew who it was. As such, he chose to ignored it as he remained crouched on the top of the water tower that he was one, the long ragged red and white scarves around his neck, head, and eyes fluttering in the wind as he looked out over his current hunting grounds, Hosu City, as the sun finished setting. His long tongue was partially out and he was eager to get back to his work as he heard a man step out of the warp gate behind him.
"Huh, Hosu City looks nicer than I thought it would." The newcomer spoke and the man didn't need to turn his head to know that Tomura Shigaraki stood behind him complete with an embalmed hand over his face and still dressed in the simple black shirt and pants he'd been wearing when the man had been brought by the warp villain to meet the leader of the League of Villains. "So, what are you going to do now that you're back here? Hero Killer: Stain."
The man, known to Japan as the Hero Killer: Stain, didn't immediately respond to Shigaraki's question as he crouched there. Since he began his killing spree targeting heroes he'd killed more than any other villain had in decades and he fully intended to add another false hero to that list tonight.
Well, both his kill count only applied to normal branch heroes as Grimm had killed many Huntsman heroes while the last Diamond Company invasion had claimed the lives of scores of Quirk Knights, but those branches didn't matter to Stain. They weren't corrupt, well at least not at their core were they corrupt the way that the normal heroes were, and so while some would be targeted if they came across his path, they weren't Stain's priority.
"I will continue my mission to reform hero society." Stain said, his mission unchanged and different from that of Shigaraki's own goals hence why they'd clashed and been unable to work together when Kurogiri, the warp gate creator, had approached Stain in Hosu and brought him to Shigaraki. "However, in order to do that I must spill blood to force the needed change upon society. Here in Hosu, where the Quirk Knights are headquartered, they will see what their brethren have wrought upon themselves and in time realize how false the newest and most populous branch has become. This is the perfect place for me to continue my work."
"As ever you have a clear goal in mind." A new voice, one that Stain recognized as Kurogiri's showing that the warp villain had also come through as well and had likely closed his gate behind him. "Your dedication and commitment to it is admirable."
"At least you understand me." Stain said as he rose still not looking back at the two men behind. "Unlike some petulant children."
"I get the feeling that you like picking on me." Shigaraki said as he scratched at the wound in his shoulder that Stain had inflicted during their exchange before moving his hand to scratch his neck. "You really are an ass."
"'Hero is a title meant for those who've accomplished great deeds! Not for those who corrupt the system for their own personal ends." Stain said ignoring Shigaraki's childish comment as he spoke out to Hosu his arms out to his sides. "This city where the base that houses the origin of heroes is located and where one of the few true heroes out there is located is but an island in a city full of false champions."
"Who's he rambling on about this time?" Shigaraki asked. "Because I don't feel like it's All Might."
"If I had to guess, based on the context, he's referring to Julius Novachrono." Kurogiri said. "The current Wizard King. As head of the Quirk Knight branch he is located here."
"All the normal heroes care about is money and fame, not about selflessly helping people because they have the power to do so or working to end threats like the Grimm." Stain continued as Shigaraki and Kurogiri muttered behind him. "Even the Quirk Knights have begun to stagnate under the generational wealth of it's oldest families who only do what they do to look good but their time will come as they still do what they do out of duty and thus aren't as guilty as the false heroes who exist in the cities. The world of normal heroes must realize its mistakes and reform themselves to be like All Might and his ideas if they wish for me to stop killing them but until then I shall continue my work."
At that Stain leapt off the water tower and down to the rooftop below, grabbing and drawing his ragged katana as he did before landing in a crouch on the roof. He then leapt forward and down into the city to resume his hunt in the alleyways of Hosu City for false heroes that needed to be exterminated.
"Man that guy annoys me." Shigaraki said as he watched Stain leave his sight. "He talks all high and mighty but he's wasting his time focusing on such a small stage and going after the heroes one by one. He doesn't even care about the other branches when all three must be brought down. He's so damned noble I could cry."
"You shouldn't spurn his methods, Tomura." Kurogiri said to him as Shigaraki scratched his neck again. "Even though he is not part of the Alliance, we must accept the reality that in all the cities that Stain has appeared in, the crime rates have fallen dramatically in the wake of his murders. He doesn't need to bother with the countryside or rural towns and villages as those are the purview of the other branches and despite issues with both, they are nothing compared to the cities and the heroes who are based there."
"So, that's just a coincidence." Shigaraki said though he didn't feel like it was, he just hated Stain and didn't want to give the man any credit. "When crime spikes because of one murderous asshole it's going to fall when said murderous asshole leaves."
"Perhaps or it could be because of Stain's actions in killing heroes have forced the heroes left in those cities to be more conscientious of their actions." Kurogiri hypothesized. "Or it could be out of fear as this is the first time in decades that someone has deliberately targeted heroes and not only been successful in killing several of them but has gotten away with it for as long as Stain has. That would inspire fear in the remaining heroes, especially if he did what he did with Ingenium and leave some alive to spread his message. Regardless of the reasons, it is clear that Stain brings change to wherever he ends up. With what's located in Hosu, he could spark his biggest change yet."
"Oh isn't that just wonderful, he's a real force for good them." Shigaraki said his tone irritated as he finished scratching and held his arms out. "It's thanks to all his murders that the heroes are now working harder in the big cities. He's not just a Hero Killer, he seems to be a Hero Breeder as well. Well whatever, this is boring. It won't work with him; we can't agree on a basic level what has to be done about society. That and he annoys me, I need to bring him down a peg or two. Kurogiri, is it time?"
"Yes, the reason why I chose today to bring Stain to meet you was because this is the day of one of the Wizard King's periodic Quirk Knight receptions." Kurogiri said knowing where this was going and due to being Tomura Shigaraki's direct overseer he had to make sure that everything was in place for whatever Shigaraki wanted to do. "Patry's contact confirmed it and so now is the time for their attack and the revelation of his group as none of the ones who joined us in the USJ were captured alive due to either suicide devices or the one member who got away murdering his comrades on the way out."
"That is one way to keep a group silent." Shigaraki said. "But not any longer it seems."
"Just as your revelation was at the USJ, tonight is Patry's for his own group which will sow more fear into the populace and further your own goals, Tomura." Kurogiri said. "The emergence of a new terror group, one aimed at taking down the entire Quirk Knight branch, can only add to the disintegration of society."
Shigaraki grinned under his hand at that as he fully agreed with and supported Patry's mission as the odd man had a similar, if more focused, goal. That was why, unlike with Stain, Shigaraki could work with someone like Patry.
"Who's he sending to achieve this?" Shigaraki asked. "He's gotta have some kind of plan if he intends to launch an attack directly on the Quirk Knight headquarters. Even our attack on the USJ wasn't as direct as that even if it was bold."
"Patry has informed me that he is dispatching two of his higher ranked men for this, men that are one level below his three eyes as he calls them." Kurogiri said. "So they're strong. According to Patry, one's a former Quirk Knight who was expelled when he was framed by the most corrupt of the Quirk Knight Captains, a man Stain would actually target if their paths crossed. From what I've gathered, that man has an interesting Quirk that could interfere with the Nomus so we've got to hold them back until after we confirm what his Quirk is. The other is a rare warp Quirk user like me and he will be the conduit for the meeting."
"Good, the more chaos that they can bring the better." Shigaraki said. "Where are they?"
"They will be coming here momentarily." Kurogiri said. "I've supplied the warp Quirk user with our current and precise coordinates and so they should be here just before the sun fully sets. They'll spark the chaos and we will add to it with our own forces. Not only will they aid you in whatever your plans are for Stain and the heroes here but we will aid them by adding to their attack and hopefully setting up the distraction needed for them to carry out their ultimate objective."
"And that is?" Shigaraki asked.
"The assassination of one of the Quirk Knight Captains." Kurogiri said. "A murder that will be on par with killing a top 10 hero. At least one and up to 5 or 6 could be in Hosu now so they'll have their pick of targets."
"Excellent, that will show the Quirk Knights." Shigaraki said pleased with that part of the plan before shifting to the final part of their alliance as the plan they'd come up with at their meeting in the wake of the USJ attack came back to Shigaraki as he'd forgotten it what with the Sports Festival and then the whole Stain situation. "And what about Torchwick" Is he going to help? That two faced Quirkless bastard only thinks of himself and how a situation can benefit him but if he can pull off what we want then I don't care what he takes from it."
"I had my doubts about him, especially as he wasn't fully ready and was more focused on what the tunnels could do for his own operations than how they could help Patry's attack on the Quirk Knight Headquarters and their goal of assassinating one of the Captains but it appears that things have changed." Kurogiri said calmly getting Shigaraki's attention. "There are still plenty of hurdles for him to overcome, the situation decades ago that led to the sealing of the tunnel and abandonment of the underground complex beneath Hosu, along with the additional seals there, made sure of that. However, so long as he can get to a certain point, I can do the rest as I've already scouted out that complex for tonight."
"So he's actually going to break the seal and bring Grimm into the city." Shigaraki said still grinning under his hand. "Now that's not boring at all and here I thought that Torchwick wouldn't bother helping us as there was no profit in something like this."
"It would appear that circumstances outside of his control have forced his hand." Kurogiri said. "I got word from one of my contacts in the White Fang that were assigned to assist Torchwick, it was their base to begin with I believe but Sienna's allowed for him to take charge there so long as he provides the White Fang with weapons once his smuggling operation gets fully underway. However, it would appear that some Huntress students and a Huntsman were investigating Mountain Glenn and stumbled upon Torchwick's operations there. The result forced Torchwick to adhere to our plan rather than his own in order to avoid being captured. So long as it's for his survival he'll aid us and then slip away in the chaos."
"That does sound like Torchwick and it's a good thing that Salem's creatures are drawn to negativity as that place is a haven for it, and soon Hosu will be a beacon of fear drawing them to it." Shigaraki said. "And that's before people with plenty of hatred like the White Fang started using that place. Now those are guys I can get along with but they are a bit single minded with what they want. I'm just surprised that they're following Torchwick's orders given his lack of Quirk or inherited heteromorph features."
"They aren't loyal to him, that is how I was able to get informed by them of the change in plans." Kurogiri said. "They are simply under orders from Sienna to aid him and the Alliance as we see fit though I think that her decision to ally herself with us has caused a schism in her organization that may be of use to us if we back the more extreme branch. Regardless, they're more committed to the idea of unleashing Grimm into a city than Torchwick is given their hatred for non-heteromorphs seeing as something like this appeals to them. They've also supplied me with a powerful incendiary device that will be used to kick things off."
"This is getting better and better." Shigaraki said eager for all the chaos and destruction that was to come. "And it's sure going to annoy that asshole Stain."
"Stain's here? Master Licht did say that he would be but hearing confirmation of the reports will make our job easier."
The new voice was calm and measured and came from the edge of the water tower and caused Shigaraki and Kurogiri to turn to see a midnight purple, amorphous, mass in the air that was not unlike what Kurogiri could do only not swirls and mist. As they looked, a man walking out of it and he was almost immediately followed by a second man, their arrival causing the two villains to back up on the tower to give them space. As the pair moved back they studied the two newcomers while the mass vanished showing that it was the warp Quirk that Kurogiri had said that one of them had.
One, likely the one that had spoken, was a pale, lean, built man with wavey gray hair that fell to his chin wearing a tight black tank top that didn't reach his navel, bicep length black gloves, and black pants held up by two thin black belts. It was a simple and practical look that didn't give anything away about the man.
The same couldn't be said about the man's most distinctive feature, and what Shigaraki suspected was behind his path to villainy, as that was that there were a pair of straight lines down his face from the center of his forehead, over his gold eyes with black sclera, and down his cheeks to end on either side of his lips. On top of that, there were two diamond like things in the lines on his forehead and three below his eyes.
While the lined man kept a cool and calm demeanor, the man next to him was grinning with sadistic glee that the odd look of dark red bandages over his forehead and left eye, complete with a light green eye ornament over where the eye was underneath it, only added to. It wasn't just that though, the man also had long, messy, light purple hair and more dark red bandages from his left hand up to his shoulder and around his neck and over which two light colored bracelets were at his wrist.
Other than that, the man wore a dark red tank top with a right sleeve that didn't reach his wrist and revealed a dark colored bracelet on his right arm and slightly darker red pants held up by a big belt with two loops on either side and a pair of heavy boots with a two light stripes on them. Over all of this he wore a tattered, off purple, cloak that was held by a pin at his right shoulder.
The second man pretty much screamed mentally unstable and Shigaraki had a good feeling about the man, he was clearly the one who'd bring the chaos that Shigaraki was looking forward to. However, it was Kurogiri who first spoke.
"Yes, we just had a discussion with the Hero Killer to see if he'd join our group but due to philosophical differences that led nowhere so while he will be out there tonight as well, pay him no heed as he's doing his own thing in Hosu." Kurogiri said as he looked over the newcomers. "I presume you're the members of the Eye of the Midnight Sun that I was told to expect."
"We are." The line faced man, lines that Shigaraki couldn't tell if they were tattoos or birth marks, said his voice indicating that he was the one who'd spoken when they arrived. "I'm Valtos, Master Licht's warp Quirk user and here to facilitate my colleague Rades's revenge against the Quirk Knights for expelling him by bringing in his puppets. Stain being here isn't much of a concern though if he dies, we would like his corpse as Rades may desire to have our support people work with it and his Quirk to create one of his special puppets."
"Corpses that are not killed by us will be decided by the higher ups in the Alliance." Kurogiri said, he'd been informed by the doctor that the other man, Rades it seemed, had a Quirk that involved corpses so while the doctor liked corpses as well as he needed strong ones for certain Nomus, they'd agreed with Patry, and in part to appease the puppet master behind Patry, that if Rades killed anyone he'd get that corpse no matter how valuable it might be. "But if you kill the Hero Killer then his body is all yours. We won't interfere with that kill."
"That's a secondary objective." Rades said with a grin. "My main goal is to tear down the façade that is the Quirk Knight headquarters and make them rue the day they expelled me and branded me a villain. Licht promised me this revenge and I will meet it out while Valtos works to ensure that the example Licht wants to make is carried out. Between the two of us they will learn the error of their ways tonight."
"Now that is a goal I can agree with." Shigaraki said with a nod the reference to Licht causing him to remember that Patry went by Licht to his followers and so he shouldn't call the man Patry as he wasn't supposed to know that that was the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun's real name. "And we will aid in the chaos so that you can achieve your goals. Assassinating a Quirk Knight Captain will drive fear into the hearts of heroes no matter the branch and in a way that asshole Stain couldn't achieve."
"Chaos is what Rades does best." Valtos said deciding not to reveal who the specific target was just in case Shigaraki got any strange ideas as he could tell that the man wasn't exactly stable. "And we are ready when you are to unleash it upon this city of sinners."
"Soon but perhaps a demonstration is in order first." Kurogiri said. "So that we understand what is going to go down as we too have our own items for the carnage tonight and we'd like to know what you're bringing out for the festivities to come so we can work with and around them."
"Yes, I'll show that bastard what a true vision is." Shigaraki said. "He'll see that my way is the way forward after tonight."
"That and I've got access to a bomb that will be the signal for you to begin your attack." Kurogiri said laying at least one of their cards on the table. "Your master told me that you're warp Quirk is strong and can create several gates at once so we should use a signal to start it."
"Fine by me, more chaos and terror the better." Rades said grinning. "Show them Valtos. I only need a few for the moment though, gotta keep the army hidden until it's time."
"Yes, your information is correct and while I can make several portals at once, I do need a few moment to prepare them so having a signal will help me." Valtos said as he looked out over the rooftop below them. "As for our army, I'll bring in some of Rades's toys to show you what it is."
At that Valtos held out his hand and a disk of midnight purple with rough edges appeared about 8 feet above the rooftop below them. It was an interesting way for a warp Quirk to work and got their attention, especially as three sets of boots appeared from beneath it showing that the corresponding portal was beneath the targets' feet ensuring that gravity would drag the targets to their destination which was a clever application of the Quirk.
Valtos, er, that's it that's all that we know about him, Quirk: Spatial Void. Valtos can create voids in space that will warp someone or something from one place to another so long as he can either see the spot, know the precise coordinates of the destination, or has been there before. The voids are three dimensional and unlike other warp Quirks he can manipulate them into things like cones or raise them from the ground to cover someone and warp them that way rather than just creating a portal to walk or fall through and all while controlling the speed of the warping. He can also create multiple voids in a single place though there are limiting factors when he creates multiple voids at once.
"So you can spring a warp gate under someone's feet and then they fall through it." Shigaraki said as legs and ragged pants appear. "Not bad though slow until gravity fully takes over."
"I can make it faster but I'm focused on only bringing a few of the puppets through right now so I have to concentrate on the size of the other side of the portal." Valtos said. "As your colleague would attest, there are certain limitations to how warp Quirks work and I'm warping from a place of memory to a place of visualization which is a bit harder than the other way around or than it would be with precise coordinates to work with."
"Yes but still impressive." Kurogiri said recognizing the talent that Valtos had right away and pleased that their Alliance had at least one other warp villain in it as it ensured that even if something happened to him there'd still be a fast escape method available to them. "So you can…oh I wasn't expecting that."
Neither was Shigaraki and he stared in surprise, but not horror, as the three people being warped through reached the point that more of their weight was on this side than wherever they were currently and thus fell down fast to land on the ground. Only they weren't people, or more precisely they were no longer people. Their skin was decaying and peeling off in places to reveal decaying tendons, muscles, and in a few places brown bones while their eyes wide and blank, and their mouths open as they shuffled around the rooftop. There was no doubt in either Kurogiri or Shigaraki's minds that they were zombies.
"Meet some of my many puppets." Rades said as he looked at them as they gormlessly stood there, his Quirk already active as he had control over all his puppets at the moment. "Go, leap off the roof and wait for me in the alleyway below but make sure to stay out of sight. The rest of our army will be here shortly and that is when we reveal you to the people of Hosu."
At that the zombies gave a groan of acknowledgment and moved a lot faster than expected, though they didn't run, to the edge of the roof before climbing onto it and walking off without hesitation. They fell away and the four men heard three thuds as they zombies landed followed by some soft moans as they clearly got up and found places to hide while awaiting more orders.
"See, they follow what I tell them too and as they're zombies they feel no pain and can get right back up after that." Rades said grinning as he looked at Shigaraki and Kurogiri. "There's countless more ready at various points just outside the city and within my range that Valtos here will warp into the center near the Quirk Knight headquarters where I can give direct orders to them as I unleash them upon the city. Plus, any who die at my zombies' hands will be reanimated by my Quirk to join my army! Haha! The Quirk Knights will really pay for how they treated me!"
Rades Spirito, Quirk: Wraith Lord. Rades can reanimate and control the dead turning corpses into zombies that will do what whatever he orders them to do, within their physical limitations that is. They are as tough as zombies and short of nullifying the Quirk controlling them, or knocking Rades out cold or out of range, only fire or extreme dismemberment will bring them down though they don't eat people and turn them into zombies as well the way that classic zombies do.
Additionally, and with the aid of support items, Rades can reanimate special corpse of strong Quirk users and use their Quirks as well though that takes more of his power and are stored in a special location for when he needs them. Due to all this, there is a good chance that he could use his Quirk to override the commands on any Nomu incapable of thought and become its master as well though that theory has yet to be tested.
"As soon as you give the signal I will warp in Rades's zombies and he'll launch his personal attack on the Quirk Knights and the city that they are based in." Valtos said. "This will be a direct attack on them as we're targeting their headquarters due to today being an award ceremony. Based on the master's intel, we know that at least three Captains are present so I'll work from the rooftops to ensure determine which is the best to send to his or her death and then warp the others out of the city so that they are no longer a threat to our goals. Today we strike a blow that the nation won't forget and show how vulnerable the heroes are."
"Yes just as I'd planned with All Might." Shigaraki said grinning at the Patry's plan. "But we underestimated how much his strength had weakened when we faced him in the USJ."
"Which is why we're not going after the Wizard King." Valtos said. "He's too strong, only Master Licht could beat him. However, we've already pulled him away though so he won't be a threat either."
"That is good, Julius Novachrono is seen as second only to All Might in this country in terms of both power and popularity so to truly strike a blow that is devastating he must be away to allow for maximum carnage." Kurogiri said. "Very well, we are satisfied with what you bring to the table. We'll support you with our own resources that should keep many of the normal heroes occupied while you work on your own goals."
"Very good." Valtos said as he held out his hand again and a portal appeared facing the ground only this time it was in the air right in front of where Rades stood on the water tower. "Come on Rades, let's move to our position near the headquarters building. Once we hear a bomb go off we'll unleash our forces on Hosu. Give me a few minutes though, I need to connect to each coordinate that have zombies stationed at them so I can activate them all at the same time. They'll be spat out within my eyesight in Hosu and Rades can move them the moment the portals open but I need a little time to have all portals ready to open as soon as soon as the signal is given."
"Understood, best of luck to you." Kurogiri said.
"Bring chaos and destruction to this city." Shigaraki said. "Because we will as well."
"You know it, they'll rue the day they betrayed me." Rades said his manic grin broadening as he leapt off the water tower and into the portal. "Let's move Valtos, I've been waiting 6 years for this day, I can't wait much longer."
Valtos just nodded at that as Rades vanished before he too leapt through the portal and it shrank to nothing as he disappeared as well. They would reappear on a rooftop that surrounded the square where the Quirk Knight headquarters building was located but not on it as there were sensors there however they would be close enough to strike and strike hard.
As soon as the pair were gone, Kurogiri turned to Shigaraki who was clearly happy with what he'd learned about Rades and Valtos, likely more with the former than the latter though. He knew what his charge would ask for but he had to make something clear first.
"Tomura, be careful with the next phase." Kurogiri said. "Now that we know what Quirks are at play we could be running a risk with Rades's power tonight."
"What do you mean Kurogiri?" Shigaraki asked. "He seems like a man who understands the same things I do so I don't see any risks with him."
"That he does only he has a different target to you." Kurogiri said not arguing with Shigaraki there. "But you saw his power, he can control corpses. Do not forget that the Nomus are little more than animated corpses that you and the master can command, who's to say that Rades can't override that with his Quirk. The doctor will want to be appraised of this so that he can assess and adjust from there but for now it would behoove us to not allow any of the Nomus to fall into the hands of anyone else who might be able to command them even if they are our allies."
"Yeah, yeah, I get that." Shigaraki said seeing Kurogiri's logic even if he didn't really care what happened to the Nomus only that his master had only allowed him to use 3 and not all 6 of the currently available Nomus. "We'll attack elsewhere in the city with the Nomus and cause more chaos that way anyway. He's going to target one of our enemies so we'll just go after the city in general and force the normal heroes to deal with the Nomus as well as those zombies."
"Very well, it's been a few minutes so Valtos should be ready for us to start this." Kurogiri said as he opened up a warp gate in front it them that was connected to the floor below the bomb where it was currently stored in the bar so it would fall through similar to how Valtos had introduced the zombies. "I'll drop this in a public area several blocks from Quirk Knight Headquarters, they'll all see and hear it and know that they can open their portals now."
Shigaraki just grinned at that as the bomb, the same kind as the ones that the White Fang had built for Torchwick, one of which, unbeknownst to the two villains, had recently gone off in the tunnel to Hosu shortly before they arrived while a few more had been set off while they were chatting on the water tower, appeared. It quickly fell through as gravity took over but before it could hit the ground Kurogiri created a second warp gate that caught it and transported it to the location that he could see in the distance where it would fall from the height of a building to the ground below.
As the bomb fell and was briefly visible to Kurogiri and Shigaraki, the former of which pulled a device out of his pocket and pressed a button on it to activate it causing the panel on it to flash red and start beeping which caused Shigaraki to grin madly at what was about to happen. A second later it was gone and Shigaraki looked over Hosu as he waited for the inevitable.
That came a few seconds later as the bomb detonated right before it hit the ground with a loud boom that shook the buildings throughout that area of Hosu with enough force to crater the ground, blow out glass, and reach the Quirk Knight Headquarters so that they'd feel it as well. On top of that, the bomb had fuel in it that ignited and a rolling fireball erupted into the air indicating where it fell while illuminating Hosu and igniting the first of the fires.
Then, and to both villains' surprise, almost as soon as the explosion ended there was a second explosion that sounded muffled but was loud enough to hear and feel even from where they were though as they were on a water tower on a roof it was only a minor vibration to them. Regardless, that really got Shigaraki's attention.
"Did we hit a gas main or something?" Shigaraki asked as the screams began to come from where the bomb had been dropped while in several locations around the Quirk Knight headquarters more portals opened and zombies flooded into Hosu as panicked citizens ran from the first explosion and began to attack them while a few blew up thanks to more preparations on Rades's part causing even more panic and starting smaller fires throughout the city. "Oh and some of the zombies blow up, that's good. Even more destruction for us to enjoy."
"Valtos failed to mention that but that's not a concern to us as more panic and chaos is a good thing." Kurogiri said. "But no that bomb shouldn't have set off a gas main so it wasn't that."
"Then what was it?" Shigaraki asked. "Because there was definitely a second explosion."
"I believe, and if so our timing is impeccable and must mean that fate is on our side tonight, that Torchwick has blown up the seal." Kurogiri said as it was the only thing that he could think that could be the cause of a second explosion. "It would take a force loud enough to hear from here to do so and that train was supposed to be loaded with several bombs the same size as the one that we used so that would do it. There is still more work to do there but I will go in a few moments to check it out and if possible bring some of the Grimm into the city."
"Excellent, this turning into a really good night then." Shigaraki said. "So bring out the Nomus and let's really kick this up a notch!"
"As you wish." Kurogiri said and a large warp gate appeared below them, this one tied to where the three Nomus that All for One had allowed them to use were located. "The heroes certainly won't forget tonight."
"No they won't and nor will that Stain bastard." Shigaraki said as the first of the three Nomus, a dark one with the Hyper Regeneration Quirk a little like the one at the USJ only no beak, poked its head out before the rest of its body followed. "He thinks that he can get away with stabbing me and right when my wounds were almost healed? Well he can't and tonight he'll learn that with all this chaos. Then, when I get tired of Stain, I'll kill him but only when I feel like it. Well, if he survives tonight that is."
Shigaraki began to laugh at everything going on as the Nomus fully came out, the dark one landing on the roof with enough force to crater it and showing that it was as big and brawny as All Might. With it were two light gray Nomus that didn't have the Hyper Regeneration Quirk. One was a gangly thing that crouched down when it landed on the roof and had four eyes in its exposed brains while the other had a set of wings bursting from its back and a gas mask over its face that flapped and kept it aloft, it's claw like hands and feet dangling as it did.
"Now let's make this all even more interesting for you, Stain." Shigaraki said as the Nomus stood before him. "We've got Nomus joining the zombies and soon there will be Grimm to contend with as well so the first thing I'm going to do to you in repayment for what you've done to me is crush your honor and pride. Well, what do you say to that you big bad Hero Killer?"
Of course Stain couldn't say anything to that but the question was rhetorical and with that Shigaraki unleashed the Nomus onto the city to add to the utter chaos of it all while Kurogiri waited for a bit before investigating the Grimm situation. The screams were reaching Shigaraki and he was really enjoying it as he stood surveying Hosu and the chaos that was being wrought upon it by so many actors. Tonight really was a good night and Shigaraki was going to bask in all of it as evil descended upon Hosu City.
I think that's a good place to leave things off at. A different kind of chapter and significantly shorter than what I usual manage with this story but I wanted to show how the chaos began and all that was going on elsewhere to bring the final players into Hosu minus Deku but that train is almost here and soon he too will be involved when one of the Nomus crashes into it and naturally his role will be critical to all that goes down with Stain. Chaos has now truly descended upon Hosu and it's time for everything to converge as the heroes and students of all three branches must now contend with what is going on all over the city and deal with the multiple culprits and various creatures running around the city. All that to come as we truly kick off the Hero Killer arc so there's a lot to look forward to but that is all that I have for y'all and thus I will leave this chapter off here. If you like this story please follow, favorite (this story and me) to keep up with it and leave a review or PM; your support is what helps motivate me to keep up this work and any questions posed before the next chapter is uploaded I will try to answer. Until next time.
