The Deertrack Heights Alpha
The Loud siblings regrouped some time later and headed to where Mai told them to.
"Who's ready to take on an Alpha?" asked Lori.
"We are!" the rest of the Loud siblings replied.
"Then let's go." said Lori. As they headed for the meeting point, they all talked about what they all did today before they met back up.
"I caught an Abra." said Lucy.
"We had to rescue Lily from a bunch of Geodudes." said Luna.
"Is she okay?" asked Lincoln with worry.
"The one that took her didn't hurt her at all." said Lori.
"Well, who would want to hurt this cute face?" asked Lincoln as she tickles Lily's chin, making her giggle.
"Lily caught the Geodude that carried her off." said Lola.
"I caught a Kricketot, but then she evolved into a Kricketune." said Luna.
"I caught a Burmy." said Lana.
"We were attacked by a bunch of bandits." said Lynn with a frown.
"What?!" shouts Lori.
"Are you okay?" asked Luan.
"Yeah, we were able to drive them off." said Lynn.
"Why did they go after you?" asked Lori.
"Those scoundrels wanted the pokedex." said Lisa.
"But it's not even done yet." said Luan.
"That didn't matter to them." said Lisa.
"What are they like?" asked Lori. Lynn, Lucy, Lincoln, and Lucy gave descriptions of the Miss Fortune Bandits.
"We should be careful with people like them around." said Luan. Lynn looks at Lincoln and smirks a bit.
"What's with you, Lynn?" asked Lori.
"I wonder if Lincoln wouldn't mind seeing that Clover girl again." said Lynn.
"What do you mean?" asked Lori while Lucy and Lisa smirk, and Lincoln blushes while trying to hush Lynn.
"Oh, the bandit called Clover seems to like Lincoln." said Lynn, making Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, and the twins squeal with glee.
"Are you sure?" asked Lori with excitement.
"Well, if what Lincoln said about her kissing him on the cheek is true." said Lynn. Lori runs over to Lincoln and looks at his cheeks; she sees the faint kiss mark on one of them.
"EEEEEEEEE!" squealed Lori with delight.
"Why are you all making such a big deal about it?" asked Lincoln.
"I don't know why but the fact that a girl likes you makes me really happy!" said Lori.
"Us, too!" said the rest of the Loud sisters as they all group hugged Lincoln.
"What do you think of Clover?" asked Leni.
"Well, she did attack Lynn, Lucy, and Lisa; so that doesn't make her look good in my eyes." said Lincoln.
"Maybe she can change?" suggested Lori.
"Can we just focus on the Alpha?" asked Lincoln, wanting to change the subject. The girls decide to do so and head up the path towards their destination. They soon reach a part that splits into two different paths.
"Hey! Up here!" Mai's voice calls out from nearby, making them look to see her on top of a hill that had stone steps leading up to it.
"This must be the place." said Lori. The Loud siblings head up the hill to Mai.
"I'm glad you all made it." said Mai.
"No problem." said Luna. Mai then looks at something behind the Loud siblings.
"Oh? And even your professor decided to join us?" asked Mai, making the Loud siblings look back to see Professor Laventon running up towards them.
"Professor Laventon." said Lisa.
"Whew... Thank goodness... I got here in time..." said Professor Laventon as he struggles to catch his breath.
"What are you doing here?" asked Luan.
"As a Pokemon Researcher, I could hardly miss out on a chance to observe an alpha now, could I?" asked Professor Laventon as he takes out a camera.
"I guess?" Lori replies.
"I suppose that is your business." said Mai. "Fine, as long as you stay out of the way." She then looks back towards the open area on top of the hill. "This is Deertrack Heights... This is where I've long come to pay tribute to a special Pokemon; a Pokemon descended from one of those ancients blessed by almighty Sinnoh."
Just then, everyone hears a loud noise coming from nearby, making them look to see a very large Kricketune with glowing red eyes.
"That's not it." said Mai.
"That Kricketune is bigger than mine is." said Luna.
"Yeah, alpha Pokemon are bigger than normal ones." said Lincoln.
"That Pokemon is a real troublemaker, here to disturb the peace with its racket." said Mai.
"Is that the Pokemon you needed our help with?" asked Lynn.
"Yes." said Mai. "I need you to drive that interloper from this place." She then uses some medicine to heal up the Louds' Pokemon.
"How should we take on this Pokemon?" asked Lana.
"I suggest that you use either fire, rock, or flying type Pokemon." said Professor Laventon.
"Type?" replied Leni.
"Oh, I guess you haven't learned about Pokemon types yet." said Professor Laventon. "I will explain in further detail later, but for now, if your Pokmeon know any moves using fire, rocks, or things like wings or beaks, then they would be very effective against that Kricketune."
"My Cyndaquil has his Ember attack." said Lincoln.
"So does my Ponyta." said Lola.
"We have our Starlies." said Lori.
"And Rollout is a rock type move and I know that Lily has a Bidoof." said Professor Laventon.
"And she caught a Geodude a while ago." said Luan.
"A Geodude should know Rollout also." said Professor Laventon.
"Yeah, we've seen one use it." said Lori.
"And I'm guessing Rowlet's Gust is a flying type move?" asked Lynn.
"You are correct." said Professor Laventon.
"And our Beautiflies should know Air Cutter." said Lori.
"Yes, that's a flying type move also." said Professor Laventon.
"I think we have enough to handle that alpha." said Lynn.
"Upon my word... what a large specimen!" said Professor Laventon as he looks at the alpha Kricketune. "Little wonder alpha Pokemon are feared across the land if they're all oversized as this one!"
"Exactly." said Mai. "They're not only big, though; they are strong and may know moves that others of their kind do not. They're not to be trifled with, let me tell you."
"So we should keep our guards up." said Lincoln.
"Nevertheless, I believe you are all stronger than this alpha." said Mai. "So go show it that beyond any mistaking!"
"Be careful, children. Size is a potent weapon in and of itself." said Professor Laventon. "No doubt this alpha is a powerful and hardy foe."
"You got it!" said Lynn.
"You ready for a battle, Cyndaquil?" Lincoln asked his fire Pokemon as he looks back at him, getting a nod in response. Lori lets out his Beautifly, Leni lets out Oshawott, Lola gets off her Ponyta and has her get ready for battle, Lana lets out her Burmy, Lynn lets out Rowlet, Lucy lets out Drifloon, Lily lets out Geodude, Luan and Leni let out their Starlies, and Lisa lets out her Pichu.
"Good luck, kids." said Professor Laventon. The Loud siblings and their Pokemon surround the alpha Kricketune and get ready for battle.
"Okay, Rowlet; use Gust!" said Lynn Jr. Rowlet flaps his wings and releases a blast of wind that hits the alpha Kricketune; it responds by moving towards Rowlet and ramming him.
"Beautifly, use Air Cutter!" said Lori, making Beautifly flap her wings, releasing blades of wind that hit the alpha Kricketune; it responds by moving through the air while surrounded by streaks of light and rams her, knocking her to the ground.
"Rocky, use Wollout!" said Lily, making Geodude tuck himself into a ball and roll at the alpha Kricketune, ramming it; it responds by hitting him with a green stream of energy that sucks out a lot of its stamina that heals itself.
"That was Absorb!" said Luna.
"We need to be careful." said Lori.
"Starly, use Aerial Ace!" said Luna and Luan, making their Starlies fly at the alpha Kricketune while coated in white light and hit it; it responds by ramming each of them.
"This Pokemon's tough." said Lynn Jr.
"Well, Professor Laventon said that alphas shouldn't be trifled with." said Lori.
"Drifloon, use Hypnosis." said Lucy. Drifloon releases soothing waves of energy over the alpha Kricketune, making it drowsy.
"Brilliant strategy, Lucy." said Professor Laventon. The alpha Kricketune hits Drifloon with an Absorb attack, not doing much to her.
"Ponyta, use Ember!" said Lola. Ponyta releases blasts of fire from her mane that hit the alpha Kricketune; it responds by ramming her with Aerial Ace.
"Pichu, please use Thunder Shock!" said Lisa. Pichu releases a jolt of electricity from her body that zaps the alpha Kricketune; it responds by using Tackle.
"Oshawott, use Aqua Jet!" said Leni. Oshawott rockets towards the alpha Kricketune while coated in water and rams it; the alpha Kricketune responds by hitting her with Absorb.
"We gotta hurry and take it down!" said Lynn Jr.
"Cyndaquil, use Ember!" said Lincoln. Cyndaquil fires off more bits of fire from his mouth, hitting the alpha Kricketune; it fell asleep for a bit.
"Let's all hit it at the same time!" said Lori. Everyone has their Pokemon use attacks all at once against the alpha Kricketune; and the combined force of them was too much for it to handle and it just passes out.
"We did it!" cheered Lola.
"Way to go, everyone." said Lincoln. As the Pokemon celebrated their victory; Cyndaquil, Oshawott, Rowlet, and the Starlies all froze up and started to glow.
"Hey, some of our Pokemon are evolving!" said Lana. They watch as the evolving Pokemon all started to change before their eyes until they finished.
Lincoln's Cyndaquil was longer, he had visible ears, his front legs were longer, and the fire on his back now reaches the top of his head.
Leni and the twins' Oshawott was taller, her body was light blue, she had white whiskers, and dark blue fur around her waist that had two scallop shells on it.
Lynn's Rowlet was taller, his wings were longer, he had a green brow with one side of it being longer, and he had a tuft of brown feathers going around his face and over his upper torso.
Luna and Luan's Starlies were bigger, their wings were longer, and had a curly tuft of feathers on their heads.
"What are our Pokemon now?" asked Lana.
"Lincoln's Cyndaquil is now a Quilava, Leni and the twins' Oshawott is a Dewott now, Lynn's Rowlet is a Dartrix, and Luna and Luan's Starlies are now Staravias." explained Professor Laventon.
"This is amazing." said Lincoln. Mai walks over to the group.
"You really are impressive ones, aren't you?" asked Mai. "Seeing people best an alpha like that... It truly reminds me of the legendary hero of old!" She then treats the Loud siblings' Pokemon's injuries. Soon after she does, they hear something cry out.
"Wh-What in the world?!" says Professor Laventon as he looks up at something, making everyone else look to see a large, white, deerlike Pokemon with unusual-looking antlers, and a large pure white beard, standing on top of a large rock.
"It's the great Wyrdeer!" said Mai.
"Wow!" said Lincoln as he looks up at it with his sisters. The Wyrdeer comes down from the rock and walks over to the group; it then looks over at Lincoln.
"Wyrdeer looks upon you with kindness, Lincoln." said Mai.
"Or perhaps Wyrdeer's interested in your white hair?" suggested Professor Laventon.
"Could be." said Lincoln. The Wyrdeer then turns and walks off somewhere.
"I'd say the great Wyrdeer has taken a liking to you. That is fortunate." said Mai. "He is an esteemed Pokemon that can dash across the expanses of Hisui while bearing a human on his back; a human he deems worthy at least. He is a blessing to us all."
"I wouldn't mind having a Pokemon to ride on." said Lori.
"Me, too." said Leni.
"Remarkable! Truly outstanding stuff! A Pokemon letting someone ride on it... Why, it's just like the Ride Pokemon of Alola!" said Profesor Laventon.
"Alola?" Luan replied.
"I'll talk about it later." said Professor Laventon.
"Hey, everyone!" Rei's voice calls out, making everyone look to see him and Akari running up towards them.
"What brings you two here?" asked Professor Laventon.
"Captain Cyllene sent us." said Akari.
"She said that once the Louds completed their request, we'd be able to set up a base camp here." said Rei.
"Ah, about that. I know this was a joint decision by Adaman and Commander Kamado, but still; is it truly fine for us to set up more base camps like this?"
"Who's Adaman?" asked Lori.
"He's the leader of the Diamond Clan." said Mai. "And the Hisui region is a land created by almighty Sinnoh for the sake of its Pokemon. As long as your goal is to coexist and thrive together with the Pokemon, then I imagine you should be allowed to use this land."
"Having a place we can rest at further from the village would be helpful when we're out exploring and it's too dark to make our way back there." said Lincoln.
"And the great Wyrdeer has taken a liking to you as well. That is a good sign." said Mai.
"That's great." said Lori.
"You all have my thanks for what you did here today. Our clan leader will hear of how you aided us." said Mai. "I'll come to show my appreciation with a proper reward as soon as I can."
"If we want to 'coexist and thrive' with Pokemon, we'll need to stop fearing them and start getting to know them better." said Akari. "That starts with completing the pokedex." She turned towards the group. "Anyway, we should be able to that base camp set up once the Construction Corps arrive."
Moments later, the Construction Corps arrived and completed the construction of the base camp in a matter of minutes.
"Here we have it, our new base camp upon Deertrack Heights." said Professor Laventon. "I'll call it the Heights Camp."
"Sounds good." said Lincoln.
"From now on, when you set out from the village, you can ask to be escorted to this base camp to start your excursions from here." said Professor Laventon.
"Having another base camp to start from will be a great help for our surveys." said Akari.
"It sure will be." said Lincoln.
"Nice work, everyone." said Akari. "Let's say we all head back to the Wallflower?"
"Sure; I'm starving." said Lana.
The group have defeated the alpha Kricketune, and Cyndaquil, Rowlet, Oshawott, and both Starlies have evolved. What will happen next as the Loud siblings' adventure in the Hisui Region continues?
