Izuku sighs.

It's the middle of the day. It's been several weeks since he gained the ability to turn into a human at night, and yet...

"What're you sighing for, Deku?" Katsuki grunts. "You startin' to regret trading away your lyre? Any sane merman would be regretting something like that by now."

"I want an eternal soul." Izuku says. "More than anything."

Izuku scratches the back of his head.

"The Sea Witch told me that if I can get a human prince to fall in love with me, I can turn into a human permanently and obtain an eternal soul."

Izuku's expression turns forlorn.

"But..." Izuku didn't know he could cry underwater.

"But who would ever fall in love with someone like me...?!"

Katsuki clenches his teeth.

"Deku..."

Izuku sniffles.

Katsuki sighs.

He swims up to Izuku and plants a chaste kiss against the other merman's cheek.

Izuku's eyes widen.

"K-Kacchan...?" Izuku squeaks.

When Katsuki pulls away, he regards Izuku with a glare, fire burning in his red eyes.

"Don't speak so lowly of yourself." Katsuki says sternly. "Anyone would be lucky to have you, Izuku."

"Even... even a human prince...?" Izuku mumbles as he looks at the seafloor.

Katsuki scowls.

Then.

He smirks.

"Is it a prince that you're really searching for, Izuku...?" Katsuki asks slowly, his form encircling Izuku's, his tail brushing against his. "Or for that matter, an eternal soul...?"

Izuku flinches.

He feels frozen.

"I think what you really want, Izuku..." Katsuki's tail feels... "Is to hear the music of the Sea."

The music of the Sea...?

Izuku breathes, getting lost in Katsuki's red eyes as the blond merman continues encircling him, hovering over him, his ruby tail ever so slightly grazing Izuku's green.

Izuku heaves.

"What are you trying to say... Kacchan."

Katsuki frowns.

"Kacchan?"

He pulls his tail away from Izuku's.

"I'll help you win the heart of a prince." Katsuki says.

And I hope that if I do this for you, Izuku... you'll finally be able to see how much I love you.
