Chapter 8: Disegrating Realms
Mortal Kombat World
Things have been going steady in some of the realms as far as the heroes could tell. Outworld was nearly in disarray during Kitana Kahn's absence. But thankfully, Queen Sindel and King Jerrod have taken turns watching over it until their daughter's return from the Birthrealm. Things have been mostly the same, but Sindel and Jerrod have been struggling to mentor Princess Meia.
Jade and her family are doing their own thing. And that is spending time with each other. It has become easier now that Kotal is no longer Kahn. He does not mind being the general once again. As he always knew that Kitana had more of a pure heart than he ever had. But he was never heartless.
The family sits to have lunch while talking to each other.
"I enjoy the sounds of a relaxing day in Outworld. And no enemies to ruin it for us for a change." Cyan sighed in happiness.
"Here here." Shu-Shang briefly raised her water before she took a sip. "The sunlight shines over us, even on the dark days. Praise the sun"
"Watch your tone while we are dining, daughter." Kotal chastised her. Shu-Shang briefly lowers her head to the table. If there was one thing she is scared of, it's facing the angry faces of her parents. Then again, she's the least mature of the four kids in Outworld.
"Sorry, father. Given our time in Birthrealm, it was…. As humans say, disorienting. Despite being peaceful, it is not home." Shu-Shang expressed her thoughts. She personally didn't mind Birthrealm, but she'd rather fight and die in her home realm.
One of the Osh-Tekk comes in quietly and whispers to Kotal. Kotal listens while looking at his family.
"Pardon me. There is a matter I must intend to. I shall return shortly." Kotal said. Jade gets up from her seat to hug Kotal.
"You better come back in one piece this time. And if you do not come back, I will drag you back here myself." Jade teased. Kotal snickers before he and Jade kiss each other…. While Shu-Shang is grossed out and rolls her eyes.. Kotal leaves as Jade returns to her seat. Cyan notices the look on his sister's face.
"What is wrong, sister? Are you jealous that you do not have someone in your life?" Cyan joked. This causes Shu-Shang to stand up and get angry.
"Silence, you insignificant brother! Unlike you, I do not have time for such nonsense. I have better things to do than to find love!" Shu-Shang yelled. Cyan hides his laughter while holding up his hands in a surrender gesture.
"Enough! Both of you!" Jade yelled at both her children. Cyan and Shu-Shang both sat down in silence. Shu-Shang briefly glared at her brother and scoffs at him.
Cyan still likes to poke fun at others from time to time, but would not resort to taking things too far. He's nowhere near immature, but not as mature as Chang Bao and Daisuki.
"Now then. Shu-Shang, the time may come for you one day. You just have to be patient. Sometimes you have to wait for the right one to come to you. Just as when I found your father." Jade lectured. The only response that Shi-Shang had was crossing her arms to pout like a child and eat her food. As she does that, Jade then turns to her son. "Tell me, my son. How was your time with Flora Cage?"
"We had quite a great time, mother. Earthrealm is as fascinating as she and her brother say. But I know there is much to learn. That others should learn one day." Cyan smiled. He can't help but think about Flora and their first kiss.
"That I can agree on." Jade said.
Cyan, his sister and their friends have since talked about Anthony and the others from Earthrealm. Including those part of the Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei. They've known Meia since they were children. Vera and Anthony were described to be similar to Jacqui and Alex respectively. Flora without a doubt has her mother Cassie's sense of humor, cockiness and big stubbornness. Something that she gets from Johnny Cage. Jade smirks. She didn't really have a high opinion on Johnny to begin with, but is pleased that he has grown much more mature and his ego had died down, but doesn't like his flirtatious side. Not one bit.
Jade couldn't help but laugh a little. "Those are accurate descriptions, I must say. Jacquiline is fierce just like her father. Alex is perhaps one of the bravest men I've ever known. And that's why he's a lovable little brother. And for Cassandra, at least she does not contain a high ego."
The children couldn't help but laugh at this. They were also told about their respective grandparents being Jax, Kenshi, Johnny and Sonya. Jade is glad to have met allies and friends like them….. Even Johnny Cage.
Meia has been having mental issues, dealing with her trauma she has been dealing with for a year now. It did not go unnoticed by the king and queen. The fire god, Kitana Kahn, Nightwolf, Daisuki, everyone. They remain by her side, trying to figure out how to help her move on and control the spiritual power. Sindel and Jerrod decided to have their daughter mentor Meia to help her ease her pain, since Kitana is the only other person who can relate to her. Kotal is with Shu-Shang, mentoring her and still struggling to control her anger. Chang Bao and Cyan have returned from their dates. Liu Kang is doing some private training with Chang Bao. Meia slowly begins to wake up.
"Ugh." Meia groaned in pain as she wakes up. But she felt a sudden, sharp pain in her head the moment she tries to sit up. "Ahh!"
"Meia, please. Don't move. Don't move." Daisuki puts a hand on her shoulder "Lie still. You've been out for nearly one day."
"W-what happened to me? Where am I? Where are the king and queen?" Meia asked.
"You're in the medical chambers, young princess. And as for King Jerrod and Queen Sindel, they have returned to Edenia. They thought it would be best to have you be mentored under me for a while." Kitana Kahn approached. "You've had quite the experience yesterday. How are you feeling?"
Kitana Kahn puts her hand on Meia's forehead to see if she was having an illness of any sort. Much to her relief, Meia is healthy other than a really bad headache.
"I…. I feel fine. Like I suddenly fell ill and the next thing I knew, I suddenly felt new." Meia said before turning to the Kahn. "Please, forgive me, Kitana Kahn. I did not mean to be an embarrassment from yesterday. I swear to it."
"Nonsense, Meia. You are not to blame for what occurred yesterday. Not everyone can succeed on the first attempt. You are always welcome here." Kitana reassures her.
Hearing those words, Meia sighed in relief and turned to Daisuki and smiled at him. She reaches for his hand and grasps it lightly. Daisuki couldn't help but blush only slightly. He hands her a drink.
"Lady Sindel told me that herbal tea can help soothe the pain. Drink. You will feel better before nightfall." Daisuki smiled.
Meia grabs the tea and slowly drinks it without burning her mouth. She likes to have her favorite drink whenever she was in pain or feeling down. It helps her, but not all the time. As she was drinking, a thought came up. Daisuki and Kitana could both sense it. They can tell by looking into her eyes as she tries to hide it.
"Meia? What is wrong?" Daisuki asked, feeling more and more worried for her.
"It is nothing. I do appreciate your concerns, but I am fine now. I do feel better now with you two by my side." Meia lied.
"Meia. As a princess and future queen of Edenia, one must always be honest with her people and allies. Surely you mustn't have forgotten about that. It is what my mother taught me." Kitana sees through her. Meia sighs out of sadness. She sits up and puts the nearly empty cup down.
Meia takes a deep breath before looking at Kitana. "Ever since I was a child, I have endured a lot of suffering. Physically and mentally. I….. I couldn't stop thinking. About my time as a slave under Shao Kahn's rule. And me losing my parents. And…. when I lost my closest friends. Cade and Jon. And Huntress. Huntress passed away in my arms. My hands were covered in her blood. Because of that bloody traitor Tessa. I avenged them, but…. I feel responsible for them."
"Responsible? I don't understand. You gave it everything you had. What happened to them is not on you. They paid for it with their lives. I have met them a few times. And they cared so much for you." Daisuki reminded Meia.
"But they were the ones that trained me. Taught me everything they knew. But…. I was weak. I could not stop her. From stealing the Kamidogu or murdering my friends in cold blood. I was not strong enough to help them." Meia spoke. Her voice was starting to shake and her lips begin shaking. Her eyes closing tight. Daisuki puts his other hand over hers.
"Meia? Tell me what is wrong." Daisuki asked.
"I'm… I'm fine. Believe me." Meia denied.
"Meia. Don't deny how you feel. Bottling up your emotions will only worsen your pain. You are not weak, emotions make you strong." Kitana sits beside her.
Meia could no longer hide her expression as she slowly starts dropping tears and begins crying. She leans her head onto Daisuki's shoulder and squeezes his hand. Daisuki wraps his arms around her shoulder to keep her comfortable. It pains Kitana and her son to see her like this, particularly the former.
"Meia. You are not to blame for anything. They are true friends. What I have learned ever since my mother returned, is that as long as there are those who you will always remember, they will never truly be gone. They rest well within the hearts of the realms we protect. And they are remembered in your own heart. We cherish the happiest memories." Kitana voiced her advice.
The edenian princess looks up at Kitana Kahn, tears flowing down her face. By Kitana's voice and just now remembering about her history through her and Queen Sindel, all Meia could think about was giving Kitana a hug without even thinking about it. Kitana wraps her arms around Meia and hugs her back. Meia regains her thoughts and puts on a small smile as they hug for a couple of moments.
"Kitana Kahn…. Thank you." Meia looks at her while wiping her face.
"It is always my pleasure, my friend. I have learned to endure my suffering. Sometimes, pain can be turned into strength. Not just a weakness. That's a secret between you and me. And that is something I share with certain friends of ours." Kitana said, thinking about her husband Liu Kang, as well as Alex.
"Do you think…. Do you think we should try again as soon as possible? Maybe I could learn to use your wise advice and use that to my advantage." Meia said.
"We will get there, Meia. But there are some techniques that I could show you. To help ease the pain. Shall we?" Kitana asked. Meia nodded.
"I accept the offer, my Kahn. But I must have a word with Daisuki first." Meia said. Kitana nodded and walked outside to leave her alone to talk to her son.
"Meia? Are you sure you are alright?" Daisuki asked. Meia said nothing. She gives Daisuki a hug.
"Daisuki. Out of the friends I have known in my life across the realms, you have always been there for me. You've supported my needs, and I too for you. I simply cannot thank you enough." Meia smiled at him.
"Of course. Because I care about you. I'd put you before me anyday." Daisuki replied. Meia smiles even more and leans in and kisses Daisuki on the cheek.
"Don't forget to take care of yourself. You're still a growing boy." Meia teased.
"Very amusing, your majesty." Daisuki sarcastically laughed. Meia chuckled at his tone and comment.
"Come on then. Let us meet with your mother." Meia grabs his hand and drags him along. Daisuki blushes more, surprised by her sudden change of mood. They run outside to meet up with Kitana Kahn for some lessons and emotional control. But what kind exactly?
In front of Raiden's statue Liu Kang looks up at it with admiration. For the good craftsmanship from those who helped build it to honor the former thunder god in his memory. It pleased him to see Raiden again for a brief time in Birthrealm. The teacher, mentor and father-figure has always been fated to be intertwined with the paths of his champions and comrades.
The fire god's daughter Chang Bao walks up behind up slowly with her Odachi in her hands, ready to strike. She swings her sword down vertically at near-lightning speed… but her father instantly turned around and caught her sword with both hands.
"I felt your hesitation. And I recognized your footsteps. You were coming too quickly again." Liu Kang smirked as he released her sword.
"I was hoping that Raiden's statue would distract you long enough, given the years you have known him." Chang Bao claimed.
"Do not always fall for the obvious, Chang Bao. If you do that, then you will be left vulnerable to being baited. But I could see where you were going with it." Liu Kang said to her.
"I guess you could say you've learned from the best." Chang Bao joked. The fire god snickered slightly.
"That's what we all say in our lifetime at least once. Even Raiden. During his time as protector of Earthrealm." Liu Kang remembered. He remembered the day when he asked Raiden why he was the chosen one. Raiden replied saying because Liu Kang's soul is considered the most pure. A soul so pure that it would save the realms.
"Father? Are you alright?" Chang Bao asked.
"I am well, daughter." Liu Kang replied. "How was your evening with Anthony Cage?"
"Anthony is a talented cook. And a very kind, gentle man. He has his mother's eyes. And their bravery. The same could be said for his sister. I trust him very much." Chang Bao smiles. She can't help but think about her new boyfriend.
"Yes. He is much like his father Alex in many ways while sharing his mother's power. You both have a strong sense of humility and humanity. You both share more in common than you believe. Do not let him go." Liu Kang advised.
"I promise. And I can tell. After knowing him for a year as well as his sister, I can see why you are close friends with the Cage family. Same with mother as well as Jade. After meeting the father, you were right about him." Chang Bao mentions Alex.
"Alex is one of, if not, the bravest man I've known. And Cassandra was the right one for him. Because of her and her parents, he has a family again. And it is also because of your mother that I have a family. I remember that day when Raiden told me about my parents and how he saved me. When I was chosen as his champion, he told me that my parents loved me. Those were my mother's last words before she was killed." Liu Kang tells her.
"I am sorry to hear that, father. I did not know. But you did not deserve to lose them to this kind of gruesome fate." Chang Bao feels bad. The fire god shakes his head in reassurance and puts a hand on his daughter's shoulder.
"I have learned to never dwell on the past, no matter how tragic. Even with the loss of my parents, or my teacher Raiden, whom I always thought to be the closest father figure I have had. And this is something you and Daisuki should know as well. Obsession with the past will lead to recklessness. And recklessness can lead to consequences, which may cross a line. But that doesn't mean there is no redemption. You all must remember this. Shu-Shang and Cyan will know this as well." Fire God Liu Kang tells Chang Bao.
"I understand. I nearly lost you and mother once. I do not wish to do so again. I would be lost without you. The fire continues to grow the more we believe in hope. And as long as that hope stands strong, the fire will never go out." Chang Bao quoted her father.
"I have taught you well. There is still more to learn. Maybe one day, you will take my place. But of course, I will leave the decision up to you." The fire god said.
Chang Bao is rather unsure about this. While she is aware that her father has a huge burden of being a parent, a husband and the protector, she is unsure of her own future, given her newfound relationship with Anthony. Before she could express her thoughts, however, an Osh-Tekk approached the two.
"Lord Liu Kang. Forgive my disrespect. But we have an issue." The Osh-Tekk bowed her head.
"What appears to be the problem?" Liu Kang asked.
"The Outworld Peace Desert. It's being attacked. And our enemies are attempting to steal dead bodies. General Kotal is already there with Baraka and the others." The soldier reported.
"What? Who and why would they do this?" Chang Bao asked.
"I do not know. There is only one way to find out." Liu Kang's eyes light up with lightning.
The Outworld Peace Desert, formerly named after Jade and where Sindel was originally buried after her death. It was renamed so that fallen allies and warriors would rest in peace, just as Sindel had before her resurrection. Kitana believed that it would be a great place for those once Shao Kahn was banished from Outworld while the previous leaders would be laid to rest elsewhere so they would be remembered.
It remained peaceful… until now. The villains from the Netherrealm are attacking again, just like they did with the Shirai Ryu and Monks earlier. Havik the Chaos Cleric is leading this strange attack. It is somewhat something he would do. Among them are Ferra/Torr, Ermac, Reptile, Goro and Reiko.
As the undead and cloned evil edenians, Chaosrealmers and Red Dragon gather as many bodies as possible, lightning strikes right in front of everyone's eyes before a giant firewall is blocking their only exit through a green portal.
"Havik!" Liu Kang gains their attention. "Drop the bodies to the ground and surrender. This is your only warning! I promise you I will not be so merciful!"
The two families as well as Princess Meia are ready to fight.
"Oh, fire god." Havik smiled upon turning to him. "You speak my name, but you do not know me very well. I do what I must for amusement. For chaos. It's what we feed upon. Me and my people. We owe Khronos our lives for sparing us. And our time in Deathrealm only fueled us with desire to spread havoc." Havik replied. He roars and shouts in a different language, ordering them to attack.
Havik and his group charge at the heroes and their own warriors and attack. The heroes of course are putting up a hell of a fight. Kitana and Cyan fight Reptile, Meia fights Ermac, Shu-Shang and Chang Bao help Jade against Reiko while Kotal and Daisuki fight Ferra/Torr. Kitana swings her tessens as well as Cyan using his three-sectioned staff to fight through many of the bad guys and killing many others along the way before approaching Reptile.
"Reptile. Still aiding the enemy as usual, I see." Kitana said to him.
"Traitors don't deserve to lead me and my kind, Kitana. You have Outworld fight as one rather than allow us to have independence. Because of this, we don't have enough resources. Mileena on the other hand was able to provide for us." Reptile claimed.
"Outworld's people have not suffered for decades. It's you and your unwise decisions that have led you to being banished from Outworld." Kitana shot back.
"And this is what you tell the children?" Reptile asked, glimpsing at Cyan. "I shall school him."
Reptile brings out his long tongue and grabs Cyan by his throat and slowly drags him in, hoping to take him hostage. But Cyan brings out his weapon in the nick of time. He swings it at his gut, forcing Reptile to let go and Cyan swings his staff in different places, including his shoulder, left knee and at his head. He wraps one end of the staff around his throat and swings it and Reptile stumbles towards Kitana Kahn. Kitana proceeds to cut through his shoulders and stab them, nearly breaking them before she uses her tessans to create wind and sends Reptile flying. Kitana leaps forward and does a backflip kick and sends Reptile farther away, nearly breaking his jaw and cracking part of his skull, defeating him.
"Learn to never judge a child when he can fight." Cyan insulted him. Kitana placed a gentle hand on his shoulder and gives him a warm smile.
Ermac uses his telekinesis to rip the good guys' fighters limb from limb and uses his soul-based abilities to murder more in cold blood as Meia fought her way through.
"Mere children. Your experience under your rulers have brought you to face us. Your magic abilities are beneath ours as a thousand souls thrive within us." Ermac claimed as his hands glowed green.
"You do not know the kind of magical abilities I have learned under the mighty Queen Sindel and my friends." Meia defends herself as she draws out her magical staff.
"Insufficient. Your abilities you have learned from the so-called queen of Edenia are no match for the soul powers. Courtesy of Shang Tsung." Ermac said before they fight.
Ermac throws two soul spheres at the young edenian princess, but she swings her staff down and deflects away and slicing the other in two. She fires two bolts of lightning at him. While Ermac was barely able to dodge one, he gets zapped by the other. Meia's staff glows and she spins it with her hand letting go of it as it glows as well and hits Ermac across the head and chest a few times each, stunning him before pushing him backwards. Ermac suddenly teleports behind her and throws her into a statue and holds her in place so she couldn't move.
Meia began chanting edenian language as her hands glew brighter before she was able to find the strength to break free of his telekinesis. She fires two arrows from Huntress' bow. Ermac grabs them, but Meia creates a cross made out of fire before thrusting it forward at him and he gets burned really badly. He is able to get to a knee and jumps and does a dive kick right at Meia's chest, pinning her down.
"You fought valuably. But you are always doomed to fail." Ermac said to her. He rubs his hands together and brings up a giant green sphere, ready to kill her. Meia manages to grab her staff.
"Mental Shock Blast!" Meia shouted as the wand part of her staff hits the ground, sending a small energy-like blast in all directions, sending Ermac flying into the air. He recovers in the air before descending down to the ground and delivering two kicks to Meia's forehead and nose, and she stumbled backwards. Before Ermac can deliver a fatal soul-powered punch, Meia holds up her staff and upon making contact with it. As soon as he does, he is left stunned, allowing Meia to dropkick him in the chest, sending him back into another statue, defeating him.
"A thousand souls and you still lose. Quite shameful if you ask me." Meia roasted him before moving on.
General Reiko swings his war hammer at many tarkatans and edenians, killing them as he approaches Shu-Shang and Cyan as they kill enemies as well.
"Well, well. I remember you two annoying bastards. I was hoping to face you again. And you brought their mother to watch you two perish first. Do not think I have forgotten our last encounter." Reiko said.
"How are your scars healing, general?" Jade taunted. "Surprised you still live despite your incompetent plans after all these years."
"And I suppose you and your Osh-Tekk lover have?" Reiko asked.
"At least we survived. You died. And I'd be happy to arrange that." Jade said before they fight him.
Reiko slams his hammer down, but misses all of them. He attempts to swing at Shu-Shang first, but she growls in anger and summons a totem from the ground and he hits it instead. Surprisingly, it doesn't even break apart. Not a single scratch on it. The general jumps over it and behind the Osh-Tekk girl and kicks her into it. He attempts to throw a punch but she blocks it. This allows Chang Bao to throw a fireball at his back and he grunts in pain. He turns to her, only for her to use the win to pull him in and stab his left thigh with her odachi. Shu-Shang then jumps on his back and slams her sickles into his shoulders, cracking and nearly breaking them before Jade comes in and slams her razor rang blade into his stomach before swinging it across his chest and kicking him backwards, easily defeating him and losing a lot of blood quickly.
"Pray that you survive this battle. The next one may be your last." Jade mocked him with a smile.
Ferra/Torr continue to fight their way. Torr picks up one edenian warrior allowing Ferra to use her arm blades and gouge his eyes out before Torr throws him to the ground and flattens his head and his brains and blood spew out. Torr charges his way through several more before making their way to General Kotal and Daisuki.
"We were allies in the Old Era, Ferra and Torr. We were against Mileena and Shinnok. And yet you stand with the enemy you fought against? You are a lost cause." Kotal pointed at her.
"Ferra and Torr think Kotal is lost cause! Kitana weak queen! Outworld need strong Empress! Shao Kahn must be avenged! Mileena will rule all!" Ferra shouted while Torr growled loudly.
"Do not expect me to defeat you and leave you in one piece!" Kotal shouted as he and Daisuki fight Ferra/Torr.
Torr charges at Kotal and throws both fists, only for the general to catch them and headbutt Torr in his face. He then throws two punches across the face, grabs his shoulders and throws him down face first. He brings out his giant sword, ready to finish him, but Ferra stabs Torr in the shoulders, allowing Torr to get angrier and he moves out of the way before the blade could plunge through his face. Torr grabs the sword and kicks him in his right leg, nearly bringing Kotal down to a knee. They fight over the weapon and Ferra giggles to herself as she leaps in the air, ready to finish him with her blades. But Daisuki swings his gaundao at her and knocks her away from Kotal. Ferra growls in anger as she leaps towards the young boy, swinging her blades. Daisuki blocks them with his own weapon. To his surprise, she is fast and lethal if up close. They briefly lock weapons before Daisuki overpowers Ferra and kicks her in the air, jumps and swings her into Torr's shoulder, momentarily distracting him.
Kotal takes the opportunity to throw his sickle at Torr's right knee, stabbing it and does a straight kick to the chest, sending him back and getting stabbed by Daisuki's guandao. The young boy does two spin kicks, hitting both of them and they stumble forward. Torr turns around and tries to punch Daisuki, but he parries it and sends a strong palm strike to the right shin, breaking it entirely before sending another to his chin, cracking it. Ferra gets angry and jumps and stabs Daisuki through his right shoulder, making him scream.
"You hurt Torr! Ferra kill child!" Ferra yelled as she was about to thrust her blade through his head, but Daisuki bends backwards and jumps back whilst doing a flip and shaking her off, forcibly removing her from his bad shoulder.
Daisuki takes the opportunity to stab Ferra with his guandao, fatally wounding her as she is pinned to the ground. Ferra screams as her entire body is covered in blood as she dies almost immediately. Torr roars in anger as he was about to charge at Daisuki to finish what Ferra started. But Kotal regains his sword and thrusts it through Torr's back and leaving a huge hole in his chest. Kotal then summons a sun totem and kicks him into it as the harsh sunlight beam is burning his body rather quickly until it becomes scorching red before his body suddenly exploded. Ferra and Torr are no more.
"Filthy traitors get no sympathy from me." Kotal said in disgust as he rushes over to the injured Daisuki. "Are you alright, young one?"
"I am fine, general. They were stronger than they looked. But we did it." Daisuki grinced at his shoulder.
"Do not judge those by their appearance. Your mother and father have taught you well. Come. We have much to do." Kotal helps him by wrapping an arm around him.
Fire God Liu Kang is fighting his way through over dozens of enemies without breaking a sweat. He swings his fiery nunchucks at several attackers and easily kills them by breaking their skulls. His hands light up in fire and creates a yin-yang symbol and pushes it forward. Several Chaosrealmers are disintegrated to ashes in an instant. He leaps and spirals forward as electricity fires out from his body, shocking anyone that approaches. He grabs one undead and uppercuts it away and as he does a down punch onto another, he fires small bolts of lightning, killing several surrounding him. He then approaches Havik and Goro.
"What devious intentions are you planning this time, Cleric? Normally, you thrive for chaos for your own amusement and you rule a realm. Yet you continue your alliance with Mileena. She has nothing on her father." Liu Kang said.
"You are correct, fire god. This is a fun thing for me. Collecting bodies to stain the honor of your realms is only a start." Havik replied.
"What we plan on unleashing on the realms, you have no idea. It's as big of a threat as Blaze was. And by the time it happens, you'll be resting in a puddle full of blood." Goro cracked his four fists, ready to fight him.
"We shall see about that. Do not boast of victory prematurely." Liu Kang said as they fight.
Goro jumps into the air ready to land the first hit, but Liu Kang creates a lightning shield around himself and shocks Goro back and he briefly grunts in pain. Liu Kang throws several nunchuck swings at Goro's knees and jaw before sending him back with an electrical-powered palm strike to the chest. Havik fires two energy blast attacks at Liu Kang's legs, but he side steps the attacks before swinging his nunchucks and wraps it around one of Havik's wrists. Havik smiles and pulls him in and does two nerve strikes to his forehead and right shoulder. He then does two kicks to the chest, three punches to the face before swinging his upper body in full 360 degrees while swinging his mace at the fire god's head before uppercutting him with it, making the fire god go flying stumbling back just in time for Goro to grab all of his limbs.
"I'll rip off your head and eat your heart whole!" Goro threatened.
Goro begins to pull Liu Kang's limbs apart at the same time. But Liu Kang was not gonna let that happen. He yells so loud that lightning strikes the god and he disappears. Momentarily, he teleports behind the former Shokan champion and fires two blasts of lightning behind him and he greatly electrocuted before Goro turns around and throws a series of punches, only for the fire god to avoid them all and backflips backward. He slams his hand into the ground and Goro is blasted upward by lightning. As he falls, Liu Kang does a fiery dragon kick in the air followed by a backflip, sending Goro flying and crashing into a knocked down statue, breaking it entirely and defeating Goro.
The fire god turns to the Chaos Cleric and they go toe to toe. Havik laughs as he watches him bring pain to Goro, laughing at everyone's expense. As Liu Kang keeps striking him, he continues laughing. Apparently, he finds his own pain just as funny. Liu Kang avoids the same strikes as Havik landed earlier, but fails to avoid his arm getting grabbed and gets sent backwards by an energy blast to the chest. Liu Kang slides but is still standing. Liu Kang jumps and does a fiery dive kick, which Havik avoids. However, Liu Kang suddenly appears behind him and uppercuts his spine, nearly breaking it and delivers a reverse side kick to the back of the cleric's head, cracking his skull before ending the fight with a strong fireball to the back, sending Havik forward, beating him.
All the villains were rounded up along with any survivors. Unfortunately, they could not retrieve all of the bodies that were stolen from their graves. Everyone is currently angered by this situation, particularly Kitana. She was the first to interrogate them.
"Why have you stolen the bodies of our fallen civilians and warriors you murdered in cold blood? What is Mileena up to this time? If she is trying to stain our honor, she would have to do better than that." Kitana threatens Havik. But all she received in response was a loud, sinister laughter.
"I love the sound of your anger, Kitana. Anger feels us as does the pain. Friend and foe alike. But you fail to see the bigger picture. What you'll witness soon will be as beautiful as it would've been had Shao Kahn triumphed in the Battle of Armageddon." Havik smiled.
"Enough of your foolish charades, Cleric! Explain yourself now! Or I will send you back to the Netherrealm limb by limb and save your head for last!" Liu Kang lights up. This only makes the cleric laugh more.
"Oh, I guess I should. But in case you do not believe me, it is best to show you. Now!" Havik shouted.
In an instant, there was a loud roar. At first, the heroes don't see anything. But then they hear flapping.
"Father! Up in the air!" Chang Bao pointed to the sky. Everyone looks up to the skies and they couldn't believe their eyes at what they are seeing. "By the gods! Is that….
Before anyone could say anything, the dragon flies towards the ground, prompting Liu Kang and teleport everyone to a safe distance as this dragon lands in the sands. This dragon stands up and snarls at them. It's the same one that met Mileena.
"A dragon? But how is that even possible? I thought they were extinct when Shao Kahn murdered Onaga?!" Kitana was shocked.
"You think wrong, Kitana Kahn. Shao Kahn may have murdered my pathetic father, but even we are hard to kill. Dragons bred. And I have laid dormant for centuries. Beneath the Pyramid in Edenia. Until he unknowingly freed me. I am Adrelita." The dragon introduced herself.
And you happen to know us all then, I assume." Liu Kang guessed.
"You're right, god. My masters Mileena and Havik have told me everything. I know all about you. Such as murdering Shao Kahn, losing your friend Raiden and all the battles you've fought and made Mileena suffer pain with no end." Aderlita growled while Havik quietly chuckled.
"Mileena deserved it all. She once fell by mother's hands. And her father after her. And soon, you will too!" Chang Bao said to her.
"Ha! Pathetic fool! You make me laugh, child. I smell godlike blood in your veins. The more I burn, the merrier. One by one, you will know that we were once the most powerful beings after the One Being. I will prove it!" Adrelita yelled as her mouth was covered in flames.
"If it is a fight you want, then so be it!" Liu Kang steps up to face her one on one.
"Brave words for a god who does not understand fear. Today, you will fear me, just as everyone before you have feared Onaga!" Adrelita said before the two fight.
Liu Kang dashes at Adrelita and throws two fiery punches and an uppercut, and she barely stumbles back before countering with two strong punches to the chest and an uppercut to it. Liu Kang was sent flying, but he teleports back to the ground. He grunts in pain a little. The fight has barely begun and this new dragon is already showing her strength. Adrelita smiles as she breathes fire onto him, which he barely blocks with a lightning shield. He leaps forward and does a quadruple kick to the chest and does a fiery dragon kick and a backflip kick, sending her into the air, but she begins to fly as she avoids getting struck by electricity. He also flies in the air as he throws a punch and elbow strike, but misses as Adrelita spins and kicks him in his back before slashing him across his chest, and he stumbles forward. But he is still levitating.
Adrelita flies forward and she and the fire god clasp hands. She headbutts him and he collides with the ground. But he jumps backwards before the new dragon could stomp his face. She throws two claw attacks, but Liu Kang parries them and palm strikes her chest while covered in flames before kicking her left thigh and two kicks to the head before doing rapid lightning punches to her chest and making her slide backwards with a lightning kick. But Adrelita is still standing, without any signs of getting tired or showing any injuries. She flies forward and sends two fists at Liu Kang's head and chest, making him crash through a pillar. He was able to get to a knee as Adrelita spits more fire at him. This time, he shoots his own flames and they collide. They were stale for a moment or two before Adrelita's flames begin to overpower him. His eyes light up as the dragon is struck by lightning, making her fall to the ground.
Now on equal footing, Liu Kang does a dive kick to the head and it lands before jumping backwards before hitting with a strong fireball, sending her backwards. The new dragon flies once more, but flies over the fire god and lands behind him. She elbows his head before slashing him across the face before attempting to trip him with her tail. But Liu Kang teleports behind her, and causes a small explosion to blast the new dragon into the air. Liu Kang jumps into the air, fires several fireballs at Adrelita, injuring her before firing a blue and red fiery dragon at her, sending her even farther. Liu Kang catches up to her and finishes the fight with dancing kicks to the chest and face, cracking parts of her bones, sending her down. Adrelita crashes into the ground, lying on her back in defeat.
"Make no mistake, dragon. You have chosen this fate." Liu Kang said.
The fire god walks up to the unconscious dragon, waving his arms around, ready to finish her. But then, he felt something wrap around his leg. Adrelita suddenly woke up, smiling before scooping Liu Kang off of his feet, picking him up and slamming him down in random places around them. Adrelit then slams Liu Kang into the ground and stands over him, fire filling up her mouth.
"LIU KANG!" Kitana shouted.
"FATHER!" Chang and Daisuki yelled at the same time. Kotal's eyes widened as Jade covered her mouth in shock.
"That wasn't even my full strength. Once I am at full power, I won't be feeling a thing. But it will take more than a while. It would be so nice to kill you, but Mileena Kahnum has demanded that you live. To see you suffer and drown in your failure yet to come. You, your wife and your friends. I suggest you warn them." Adrelita smiles before walking off of him and walks away through a green portal. She looks at them and chuckles to herself before it closes.
Kitana and everyone else run to her husband, immediately feeling scared for him while trying to fight off tears.
"Liu Kang! My love! Are you alright?!" Kitana asked. Never before has she been this concerned for one's safety.
"I…. I am fine, Kitana. I will live." Liu Kang said. His children as well as Kitana and Jade help him up. "Adrelita. Daughter of Onaga. I wasn't expecting her to be this strong." Liu Kang said as he slowly heals himself.
"Father. The dragons. They were the most powerful creatures ever. And now one is back. What can we do?" Chang Bao asked.
"I do not know. I–" Liu Kang is interrupted by a call from Fujin. "Fujin?"
"Liu Kang. I am afraid I have some news. Very unfortunate news." Fujin tells him with some regret in his tone. Liu Kang may already know what he is referring to.
Note: I am terribly sorry about the constant delays. Me and my family had snow for the first time in eight years, and as a result, we had no wifi. But I am back once again. Adrelita is a powerful dragon, but she isn't strong enough to defeat the likes of Liu Kang. But she will have more action later on.
