Chapter Two
Down in Mutopia, Cam and Barry arrived with their loot to distribute to everyone who had put in orders.
They arrived first at the Carpentry workshop of Leona the Fox who was hard at work on a large table sanding down some wood to make a new table, her red hair was tied up in a tight ponytail and sweat dripped down her face as she worked.
The muscular fox looked up and her eyes lit up.
"Ah hey boys!" she grinned as she quickly turned down a small radio that was playing some loud music so she could talk to them "What you got for me?"
Cam and Barry then started to unload the good from the wheelbarrow which involved some wooden doors, and some broken planks which the Fox was very excited about.
"Thanks boys!" she said "I'm sure I can put together something with these! You're both marvels!"
"Just doing our job m'am!" Cam grinned and Barry saluted before walking off back into the sanctuary.
They then went to a small room not far away where Loki, the son of Tyroth the Dragon and Sephie the Gecko was working on some gadgets as well as fixing up old machines under the supervision of Sonia and Freya.
Sonia was watching over Loki who was fiddling with a DVD player and Freya was reading a manual.
"Hey Kids!" Barry called in causing all three children to look up.
"What you doing there?" Cam asked as he walked in.
"One of the DVD players in the Movie room blew up." Loki reported "I offered to give it a once over, though I had to practically prise it out of Rattletrap's paws!"
"As usual!" Cam and Barry said together rolling their eyes "And I'm guessing your cousin and sister are here to keep him away should he try to intervene or in his words, 'Help?'" Cam asked.
"Bingo!" Sonia said clicking her tongue.
"Guessed as much!" Barry laughed "Anyway, we got some stuff you might enjoy Trickster!"
"What you got?" Loki asked eagerly as he put the DVD player down.
"Check it out!"
Cam pulled out the old radio, and the toasters, and the skateboard, as well as the bicycle and the twins grinned.
"Sweet!" Loki cried "I could put some new wheels on the Skateboard and do something with the bike!"
"I want first dibs on it!" Freya cried "The bike I mean!"
"After I've fixed it and had a go first!" Loki retorted as he took the bike.
"Hey!" Sonia said "Don't fight you two! You can take turns!"
Barry chuckled.
"Good thing you're there to keep them on the straight and narrow Pumpkin!" he said to Sonia whose skin colour went from green to pink with pride.
"I try!" she shrugged.
After a few minutes, Cam and Barry went to Tania's salon who was very happy with the fabrics and even gave both the rhino and warthog a kiss on the cheek each which they blushed deeply.
"You are two sweethearts!" she had grinned and offered them some coffee from her special coffee machine which the two friends remembered Hugh had found for her, and it was a good quality machine.
They had gratefully accepted and had had a chin wag with the Panda and she offered to give them a facial each when they had time to which Cam and Barry said they wouldn't say no too, as they would love a pampering session with her when they had the chance.
Later on, the two Mutopians were sitting in the rec room on a sofa near the pool table were Chloe the Butterfly and Rose the Lynx were having a friendly game as well as listening to some music from some speakers.
Cam read the poster he had picked up and looked at Barry.
"I think we might have a good night at this." He said, "Haven't been to one in a while."
Barry nodded.
"I think so, and I wonder if anyone else wants to join us?"
Cam thought for a moment.
"You think the Knights might?" he asked, "especially as it's an underground one, they might want to observe for any protentional crime?"
"It's worth asking them." Barry said as he looked at the poster then as he read where it was taking place, he bit his lip.
Cam noticed his friend's look and cocked his head on one side.
"You alright mate?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure." Barry replied, "It's just, I just realised that this fight takes place not far from when the Knights and the Hamato Clan were confronted by Vulstrun."
Cam swallowed hard as he remembered that time.
"Oh shit yeah."
"That golden demon left a rather nasty bloodbath if I remember." Barry said "The Knights and the Hamato Clan said even they found it hard to stomach, what they saw."
"It's been over six weeks since that incident." Cam said, "I just hope we don't meet anything or anyone else just as nasty and dangerous."
"We can only hope mate!" Barry agreed.
Cam nodded.
"So anyway, shall we ask around at suppertime?"
Barry agreed.
"Let's" he winked and bumped his fist with Cam's "In the meantime, shall we see if the movie room if free?"
"For sure!" Cam said and they both stood up and walked out of the Rec Room.
Meanwhile, up in the city of Chicago in the Lakeshore Hotel, Samuel and Alexandra had made it to their room and they opened the door to reveal their suite.
Alexandra gasped as she saw how the room was decorated and made up.
There was a large king size bed in the middle of the room with some soft seats lining the wall by the window, and the colours that adorned the room were black, white, and blue.
There was also a desk, and above it was a wide screen TV.
"Oh wow Sam!" she cried "It's amazing!"
She dropped her bags and went over to the window where she could see Lake Michigan and the moon shining over it making the waves shine and sparkle.
"I wanted to make sure we got a good room sweetheart!" said Samuel as he walked over to the bed and leaned on it with his hands to feel how soft it was.
"Oh yeah! And great beds too!" he agreed before bouncing on it like a kid.
Alexandra laughed then went into the bathroom to see a shower with a glass screen, a mirror, sink and toilet.
"Very convenient!" she said then turned to Sam who was now laying out on the bed with his arms and legs spread out.
She walked over and got on the bed before crawling over and straddling Samuel before leaning down and kissing him.
"Hmmm, comfortable?" she asked.
Samuel smirked and grabbed Alexandra's hips.
"Oh, so much more now!" he said cheekily.
Alexandra laughed and leaned down over him again, kissing him and nuzzling him.
"I can't believe you managed to find such a good room here!" she said, "Even my salary couldn't cover this for two nights!"
"Well, as you know I won big on the last tournament back in Texas!" Samuel reminded Alexandra "So I thought I'd spend it well on a great room here, whilst we're in Chicago for this next tournament which I hope to win the big bucks in!"
"You're just too kind!" Alexandra smiled "Not that you weren't always!"
Samuel smirked then rolled Alexandra over onto her back and he kissed her again before nuzzling her nose.
Alexandra giggled as he did that then cupped his cheeks looking into his brown eyes.
"You know, if anyone told me three years ago, we'd be here, I never would have believed them!"
"Agreed hun!" Samuel said nuzzling Alexandra's neck "I still think of it you know?"
"You do?" Alexandra asked, moaning as she felt Samuel's nose and lips peppering her neck.
"Yeah!" Samuel replied, "Of our first ever meeting."
Flashback
It was close to ten 'o' clock at night on a Sunday and it was a late autumn and Alexandra wrapped her coat around herself as she walked home from her late shift at the Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse.
As she walked, she hummed to herself, this was a route she often took after work, and she never felt nervous as she knew it so well.
Clutching her handbag close to her, she reached for her phone to let her mother know she was on her way home.
As she reached into her bag, she heard footsteps behind her, and she narrowed her eyes as well as felt her heart beat faster.
Alexandra slowed down and looked behind her and she saw a white skinhead wearing a dirty blue tracksuit.
Alexandra was alarmed but she had no chance to cry out as the man grabbed her wrist.
"Gimme your purse bitch!" he shouted as he grabbed her handbag "Give it to me!"
Alexandra was shocked but she pulled back against him.
"NO!" she screamed "Get away from me! Let go!"
"Give it to me bitch!" the man shouted.
Alexandra pulled back onto her handbag as well as tried to struggle out of the man's grasp on her wrist, which felt like being gripped by a skeleton.
"Hey! Get off her!"
Alexandra soon heard another voice from the side, and she looked over to see a man striding over, dressed in black cargo pants and a hoodie covering his head.
The mugger also looked over yet didn't let go of Alexandra's wrist or handbag.
The figure walked over with their fists clenched and glowering at the mugger before removing his hood to reveal a young African American man with long black hair and deep brown eyes.
"Leave her alone you bastard!" he roared "You think you could sink so low you'd try and rob and attack a lady?"
Alexandra was stunned and she cried out as her mugger let go of her wrist and she fell on her backside.
As she did, Alexandra shuffled away as the African American man strode over to the mugger with his fists up and he turned to her.
"Run! Go!" he shouted, "Get out of here!"
Alexandra blinked and stood up, yet she didn't move.
"What?" she gasped "Who?"
"Don't hang around!" the man shouted as he kept the mugger at bay with his fists "Just go! Get out of here!"
Alexandra closed her mouth and stepped back then turned around to run home as fast as she could, not sure what had just happened nor who her secret superhero was.
End Flashback
Alexandra smiled.
"I thank my lucky stars you were there that night!" she smiled "And I remember our second meeting too! What were the odds?"
Samuel chuckled and kissed his girlfriend.
"Oh yes! What a small world that was!" he said.
So Cam and Barry have returned with their good to distribute to the Mutopians and they are planning to go and watch the Underground fight as well as ask who might join them.
Meanwhile, Samuel and Alexandra are in their hotel and speaking together of their past and they're about to speak of more!
Tune in for more coming soon!
