Chapter 16
Chuck drove downtown to the offices of McHammond engineering. Sarah made sure he was dressed to the nines. He walked in knowing that behind the front facade there inside was the CIA. He showed his licence as it was the only thing he had on him that wasn't CIA just in case he was at the wrong door. The woman smiled and escorted him through a metal door which looked more like a TSA scanner. Chuck wondered what would they do if he did bring in his gun. As Chuck waited, his cell rang with a ring tone blaring Africa which he had set up for Ellie. He quickly turned it on silence. He whispered an apology to the lady at the desk. He wasn't ready to talk to Ellie. Though he had seen her a few days ago it was already starting. She'll call and call and call. One thing he didn't miss in DC. At least the minimal contact with her he knew she was safe. He loved his sister but she could be overbearing and he couldn't blame her, but he could set boundaries and DC was a far enough boundary. Chuck slipped his phone into his pocket looking up seeing two men walk towards him.
Chuck was greeted by the two men one in a suit and the other dressed very casual. He recognized the one name that he had heard of back in DC. A one Harrison Jenkins. The second guy was new to him. His name on his badge said Winston Churchill. Chuck looked at the man. "I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught." He looked at him. "Oh sorry, it was a quote from the original Winston Churchill."
"Oh, I see." Chuck shrugged it off. Then he thought to himself. 'If I had a name of a famous person I would have all sorts of quotes.' They walked to his office where Chuck dropped his bag. Churchill passed Chuck a package. As Chuck took the package Churchill spoke up. "You will find your credentials and your Forensic licence for LA. All the office manuals and paperwork are there as well and will need to be signed and returned to the front desk. The same old payroll mumble jumble." Chuck looked up. Churchill headed to the door. "Welcome, but I have a meeting. I will drop off some of our cases for you to look through to start then have you join in on some of our active cases. Chuck shook his hand and watched him leave. Jenkins closed the door.
"Do you prefer Charles or Chuck." Chuck looked up. "Depending on if I am to be known as Charles hence my CIA alias or the real me."
"Either one. Downstairs they will know you as agent Carmichael and out there doing what you were hired for you will be know as Mr. Bartowski. General Beckman felt that having to work where you originally came from, might cause some problems out in the field or in the public. If you ever came in contact with people, you know they wouldn't compromise your mission." Chuck felt some relief but his fear in coming home was that he didn't want his real life to interfere with his job and he couldn't control who he came in contact with being back here. He just hoped that using Chuck would cover both worlds.
Chuck was given his new badge and credentials. He was officially a forensic engineer for the McHammond company. Jenkins motioned for Chuck to sit in his desk chair. Chuck smiled. "So how do you feel?" Chuck placed his hands on his desk. "A little overwhelmed but okay."
"It will take some time. Beckman told me that you were one of her best."
"Well thankyou."
"Just to let you know Churchill is not CIA."
"I figured that. So, what does he know?"
"Just that he works for McHammond engineering. As most employees here are. This is a legit business it's what goes on behind the scenes that many don't know about or aren't privileged to that info. When you arrive, this is your office and you do your work as would any employee but when the CIA needs you your presence will be needed in the basement. But I heard that you can also use your home base. Our base is an extension of DC so your files that you had sent over weeks go are here. Where would you like them? Here or at (slight pause) what do you call your place." Chuck looked up. "Castle."
"Its name is Castle."
"Ok Castle it is." Chuck laughed to himself. 'Not sure if Casey will like it.' Jenkins showed Chuck the basement and how to get down there. It seemed that the CIA really liked their maintenance entrances. They walked back to the front desk and walked past reaching the elevator service door. Jenkins walked in holding the door open for Chuck as he slipped past him into another door. Chuck had seen rooms like these in movies and wondered which movie could have been filmed here based on this particular room. They walked the room then sat in a conference room. Chuck heard a beep and in seconds he saw Casey's face up on the screen. Chuck's heart started to beat faster in anticipation of seeing Sarah. And in seconds there she was. She smiled at him and greeted both men but kept her eyes on her husband. "Agent Walker and Major Casey welcome. My name is Agent Jenkins. And you both know Agent Carmichael." Sarah's face warmed at the sight of her husband. She wasn't expecting to see him so soon but he sure looked good in his suit. They shared glances that only Casey picked up on. Trying to keep it professional. Jenkins wanted to make sure that the link between downtown and what Chuck called their base worked. Jenkins continued. "This link will assist us and will cut down travel time is needed between our two departments. Agent Carmichael has named your base Castle which we will use from now on." Casey grunted. Sarah just smiled. "Major I will be sending Agent Carmichael's files from DC your way by secure courier. Please expect them within the hour."
"Will do."
Chuck looked at Sarah. Then rolled his ring. Getting her attention. "I better get to work here." Chuck smiled. They said their goodbyes and disconnected the call.
Chuck grabbed a coffee and sat at his desk. He grabbed the first case file. It was an inquest to a building collapse. The fire department's report called it suspicious and the owner said it was due to it being old but not to the point of falling down. Both wanted answers as people were hurt when the building collapsed. It was Chucks' job to find out what happened and send his findings to the insurance company. As he read the file, he saw that the building was going to be demolished within the next day or so. Chuck had to see it firsthand. He grabbed his bag and headed out. He hadn't done anything like this for a long time and it was nice to do something different than spy work. He drove to the site and grabbed his hard hat and grabbed his bag. He walked the site then grabbed his camera. From what he read the structure collapsed at the south end. Chuck walked the length and took photos of the point of interest. The fire department said that the fire was started by some type of accelerant. Chuck took samples and noticed that the corner had been repatched and poorly done. Chuck grabbed his file and saw no report that the building had any repairs done on it recently. He called the owner and had him come out. He showed him the area and the owner was unaware that it had been repaired. Chuck had been around awhile and with his spy training he was getting good at reading people. And this person felt sincere. The owner continued to tell Chuck of issues he had with the construction company next door. They failed several safety procedures and securing the site for construction. Chuck thanked the owner for his input. Chuck took a few more pictures then saw a front end loader with some damaged to its front end. He snuck inside the site and started taking pictures. He noticed scrapes on the front end and the dent was almost the exact shape as the edge of the building next door. He took samples brushing dirt and dust into a bag. He slipped out and headed to his truck. He labeled his findings and drove back to his office. He asked for a rush on the dirt from the front end loader and the patched corner. Hoping that his suspicions involved the construction company next door. And they tried to cover it up by patching the corner after they hit it. Therefore, making the unit next door even more vulnerable. That over time people moving around, he believed caused the building to collapse, pipes breaking hence the fire and the arrival of the fire department.
Chuck stuck around waiting for the results. He called Sarah letting her know that he would be a bit late in picking her up. Chuck grabbed his bag as he started heading to the door as a tech person came up to him with the rushed report. He thanked them and headed out. He would read the report when he got home. It was a long day a busy first day but it was going to end on a high note by picking up his wife.
Sarah waited outside watching for Chuck to arrive. There were several trucks that drove up to the Buy More but Chuck's was unique. His GMC Silverado 2008 fully loaded was something that Chuck had researched and deserved. This just made Sarah desire to get her own dream car sooner than later.
Chuck drove up reaching over opening the door for her. Sarah jumped in and closed the door. He smiled then leaned over and gave her a kiss. She held his face in her hand and snuck another kiss as he sat back and drove off.
Chuck made supper settling on pasta and salad. Their next big trip was to go grocery shopping.
Chuck sat in the living room as Sarah laid beside him watching tv. He opened the file promising to just take a look then would snuggle with Sarah. He read the report and smiled as the dirt and paint chips from the front end were the same as what he found out from under the patch work. He gave a 'Yahoo.' Then closed the file passing it to Sarah. She read the file and looked back up to him. "Good find Bartowski. Not bad for a first day."
"Not bad but I still have to write my report." Sarah closed the file. Then rolled up to him. "That can wait tilltomorrow." Sarah dropped the file on the floor as she fell into his arms. Their lips met. Chuck wrapped his arms around her as they started making out. Sarah leaned back sitting on his hips reaching for his shirt. She ran her hands over his stomach pushing his shirt up over his head. "Well."
"Exactly." He grabbed her face bringing her close as they shared kisses. She worked his pants sharing a grin. She slipped out of her jeans. Their new couch was going to have a workout. Chuck reached for her hips grabbing them in just the right spot that made Sarah react. They were still learning what worked and didn't work in their love making. From their first time and every time since then, they had embedded a deep love and respect for each other. Chuck laid Sarah onto her back as he kissed her long legs moving upwards placing kisses as he went. They started up again basking in the sounds and the physical changes that were happening. Sarah wrapped her legs around his hips as they rode the last high. Sarah stared at Chuck deeply making him acknowledge her. "I love you, Sarah." "I love you too, Chuck. With all my heart." Sarah smiled as Chuck rested his head on her chest and her arms around him.
Sarah wrapped a blanket around her as Chuck grabbed their clothes. She headed upstairs as he turned the lights off. "You know we could have done this upstairs." Sarah continued to head upstairs. "But we're not done yet." Chuck fumbled with their clothes. Sarah slipped into the shower as Chuck closed the curtains and drew the bed covers following right behind her. He let the water cascade over him as he grabbed the soap. He lathered his hands and ran them over her shoulders, back and hips. She grabbed the soap and did the same to him. Spending some time on his chest. He looked up. "You're so beautiful." He kissed her softly. Coming back from the effects of the kiss she looked at him. "I missed this while you were in DC."
"I know, but I am here now." They showered then slipped into their pajamas and snuggled under the bed. It was the perfect ending to the day.
Chuck made a smoothie and had it ready on the counter. Sarah came down in her uniform making Chuck notice. He held the smoothie towards her. "I could stare at you all day." She grabbed the smoothie and kissed him knowing what this meant to her now more than ever. She grabbed her bag and coffee mug and headed to the truck. "I think I might call the car guy."
"Cool." Chuck backed out and headed to the Buy More. He parked on the other side of Large Mart which would give Sarah enough walking time to the Buy More without having any questions asked. They held hands as they enjoyed their breakfast well their coffee and smoothie combo. Chuck leaned in for a kiss tasting the strawberries on her lips. Sarah returned the kiss lingering a little longer. She now appreciated these times as she almost lost them. Sarah opened the door and stepped out. Chuck smiled. "Call me when you get an appointment. It will be a good excuse to come and see you." Sarah laughed. Then noticed the screen and Ellie's number popping up. Chuck looked at her then pressed cancel. He looked up. "I'll call her later." Sarah acknowledged then closed the door. Chuck rolled down the window. Sarah looked up. "Love you have a good day."
"You too babe. Love you more."
Chuck waited till Sarah was in the store. Watching his wife scurry across the parking lot she could feel him watching her. She knew her husband appreciated the view. He pulled out giving in and dialling his sister. He took a deep sigh as she answered. "Good morning, Elle."
"Morning Chuck."
"You at work?"
"No just got home from nights. And thought I call and see how the first day went." "It was okay. Got my first case of many to get through. So right now, it's going to be a lot of catch up. It looks like they might have been short staff and the reports backed up. Bonus I got an office."
"That's good."
"It is. Sorry for not calling sooner. Had to get settled and sleep. Driving to LA took its toil."
"You drove?"
"Didn't I tell you that?"
"No!"
"Oh sorry. I didn't want to leave my truck in DC."
"It's just a truck, Chuck." Chuck closed his eyes and sighed. It was starting all over again. The overbearing and pressure. "Elle it's more than a truck. It was something I bought with my own money and to leave it there felt wrong." There was a pause in the conversation. "It's your life Chuck."
"Yeah (even longer pause) I better go here just arrived at work. Have a good sleep."
"You have a good day."
"Good to hear your voice sis."
"You too bye."
Chuck walked in being greeted by the lady at the desk. He remembered that she worked for the real job and not the CIA. She handed him a file. "Here are the rest of the results that you asked for." Chuck looked up. "Thanks." He slipped the file under his arm as he headed towards his office. He put his bag down and pulled out his files he took home last night and sat down looking at the new file. He slapped the desk happy at the results. Chuck heard a knock. He looked up seeing Churchill. "Sounds like you got some good news." Chuck motioned for him to sit down. Churchill sat down. Chuck watched him. By the way Churchill was looking at him he didn't trust him. But it was only day two so maybe it was just first day meeting jitters. Chuck slid the file over. Churchill looked at the file. "Oh, the Cascade street case." Chuck nodded. He read on. Then put the file down. "This case has been stalled for some time and you seem to have found the reason in one day? And to put a rush on the results." Chuck sat up. He felt that he was being interrogated. "I did and when you ask the right questions and have good people working for you it all helps. I guess the one who was driving felt guilty and wanted to come clean. It looks like it." He stands up. "Can I take this?"
"I guess."
"I will send it off to the insurance company and the fire department." He walked to the door. "We will see if your luck continues with the rest of the pile." Churchill walked off. Chuck just shook his head. He was glad that he didn't express what he was thinking in his head about the guy.
Later that afternoon Chuck swung by picking Sarah up early to head to the car dealership. His smile widened when Sarah jumped inside. Her long legs screaming at him. He placed his hand on her legs while giving her a kiss. She kissed him back. "Sorry to take you from work?"
"No, I was glad to leave." Sarah grabbed her bag and pulled out a pair of jeans. Much to Chucks dismay she slipped her skirt off making him look. Then she slipped her legs into her jeans. Grabbing her boots and slipping them on. She continued to change her clothes not carrying who was watching and putting on a t shirt. She sat back like nothing had happened while Chuck sat there still basking in the show. She squeezed his hand and sat back.
They drove to the car lot and Sarah quickly walked over to her car. Carlton had it parked out in front of the dealership. She walked the length and ran her hands over the exterior. To Chuck's surprise Sarah asked him a lot of car questions. He figured she got that from her dad. Carlton acknowledged every question she had then gave her the keys. Sarah shook the keys getting Chuck's attention. "No go ahead I'll wait here."
Sarah took off as dust spewed from beyond. Chuck laughed. He wished Carlton good luck.
Chuck slipped inside his truck as his phone rang the theme song to the A team. He then knew it was Casey calling. "What's up Casey?"
"Don't we sound chipper?"
"Naw just waiting for Sarah."
"Well, I got word on where the building is and where to find the F-22's but the specific designers are still not known. It's like they don't want to know who is behind in creating them."
"Well, someone has to be at the top and that person is who we want if they are selling the intel. We know that it might not be the intel and their creator it's who they are selling it to. How is the tracking going?"
"Haven't had a hit so I'm thinking that the intel hasn't changed hands yet. Beckman's looking into that which reminds me I should see where she's at on that." Chuck heard Casey's other phone ring. Casey trying to keep the conversation going. Chuck added. "I assume she knows your in LA." Casey joined back into the conversation. "She does."
"And?"
"And? Nothing." Chuck laughed. "Whatever you say. But when you see Kathleen tell her I say hi."
"I will." Casey hung up.
Chuck looked up seeing a black Porsch drive up and a very happy wife stepped out. She waved getting Chuck's attention. He stepped out as she embraced him. "How did it go?"
"It was awesome."
Chuck smiled.
Carlton closed his door. "So, what do you think?"
Sarah looked at Chuck then at Carlton. "I'll take it."
Carlton looked a bit shocked and wasn't prepared for the quick response. "Okay then, let's go inside and start the paperwork."
Chuck and Sarah held hands as they followed Carlton inside. They sat across Carlton as he started the paperwork. "So how do you want to pay? Payments?"
Sarah looked at Chuck. Chuck sat on the edge of his chair. "She will pay it out in full, money order."
"Wow, I don't have that happen very often. With that option you will receive the following."
Sarah looked over the list which was way out of her league. Chuck took the list. "And an extend warranty on wheels, transmission."
"Sure."
He looked at Sarah. "You're set."
Sarah signed it giving them her banking info. "I'll just make a call confirming this and you will be good to go."
Carlton got up leaving them alone. "So those extra's."
"Yeah, because you are paying for it in full, they can offer you all the bells and whistles because they don't have to wait for you to pay the car off with monthly payments."
"My first car."
"Your first car."
Carlton came back handing over her keys. "Congrats Ms. Walker Bartowski."
Sarah got up shaking his hand then reaching over to shake Chuck's hand. "Enjoy and thankyou. If there is anything else I can do for you please don't hesitate to call."
Sarah walked out as her car was waiting for her. Chuck walked her over and opened the door for her. "Race you home?"
"You're on."
Chuck closed the door then ran back to the truck and followed her out of the parking lot.
Days later
Sarah clocked out at the end of her shift and walked over to her car which she had parked near the entrance to Castle. She missed having Chuck drive her but it did cut down the time between him driving from work to picking her up then coming home. She drove into the driveway and headed inside. Slipping her tie off and kicking her heels off which gave her instant relief. She walked into the kitchen grabbing some water and something to eat. He would be home soon and they both knew what would happen next. She started to relax and not let the fastness of everything going on cloud her mind like it did in DC. Chuck wasn't going anywhere and he always told her that he take it as slow as she needed it to go. He also reminded her that what was in her head was nothing to what was real with what they had. She continued munching when she heard his truck. She walked into the living room and waited. Chuck opened the door sliding inside like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. "Over here Chuck."
Chuck put his bag down and walked over to Sarah. He was glad that it was Friday. No work for two days except for spy work which was 24/7. Chuck slipped his jacket off seeing Sarah on the couch. He grabbed her hand. "Hi."
"Hi."
He kissed her softly then held her close. Giving her a long passionate kiss. It was a perfect way to end the week. Sarah started with his buttons. He was dressed in what he called his field work outfit. Demin shirt and jeans. His face was dirty but she liked the look. "Maybe a shower first?"
Sarah followed Chuck upstairs as they slipped into the shower. She washed his back noticing his tan line around his neck. He had a darker tone to his skin being in LA which made his skin have a darker hue. He took the soap and lathered his hands running them over her skin igniting her senses. Chuck looked at her. "Order Chinese or pizza?"
"What?"
"Supper?"
Sarah laughed then shook her head. She was trying to get in the mood and was almost there when she now had to compete with his stomach. "You take care of us now and I will take care of your stomach after."
Chuck put the soap on the rack then picked her up pressing her up against the wall. The coldness of the tile flipped the switch as he leaned into her. She got what she asked for. Her legs were wobbly as he dried her off as they kissed their way to the bed. She knew he wasn't done and she did promise to take care of him after. He laid her down on the bed. She grabbed his hands placing them in specific spots as he laid beside her. He let her guide him till she slid her leg over his. He rolled onto her facing her as he placed a soft kiss on her lips. She wrapped her legs around his and basked in what was to come.
Their making love when they did, become a regular thing after work most nights as the spy world always seemed to interfere with it any other time. They couldn't remember when they made love just before going to bed.
Sarah grabbed the Chinese as Chuck came down wearing baggie shorts and a muscle shirt. It had been hotter than what they were used to so wearing less made sense. They sat on the floor of their living room enjoying a late supper. They got a bit carried away earlier and an extra round happened. Sarah faced Chuck as he leaned against the couch. It was just the two of them and for a few hours they enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Chuck grabbed the cartons and stood up hearing his phone. He looked at Sarah and sighed. Chuck put down the cartons as he put his cell on speaker. "What's up Casey?"
"Just got a hit. Does a Winthrop-Keller Aeronautics ring a bell?"
"No why?"
"Well one of the trackers went off. Winthrop-Keller is a defense contractor."
"Private or public." Sarah walking by the phone.
"Private I believe. But I can look into that."
"Do you need us to come in?"
"No, tomorrow is fine but this might be the lead we need to get into the building. Remember the F-22's from earlier, well they also make theLockheed Martin FB-22."
"Wasn't that a proposed supersonic stealthbomber aircraftfor theUnited States Air Force. The F-22 Raptorwas suppose to be a superiority fighter."
"Yeah, and for some reason they were to be replaced and returned to service by 2037."
"So, during the upgrade the specs are sold to whomever and we got a leaked defence system and possible threat to the US."
"A big possibility."
"So where does that lead us?"
"To find out who is selling the specs and why? But we can talk more about that tomorrow. You guys get some sleep and if I find anything more I'll call."
"Good night, Casey."
"Good night."
TUESDAY
Sarah headed into work hoping that there would be some movement on the virus so that someone would bring in their laptops. Or at least seek assistance. Sarah walked up to the desk not seeing anyone. She knew that she wasn't late. She enjoyed the peace and quiet. She tidied up from the night shift and grabbed a cup of coffee. When she returned the Nerd Herd desk rang. She answered receiving that call that she had been waiting for. She grabbed a piece of paper that Chuck had given her that would help her navigate the call till she needed to get additional assistance. She quickly dialed in Chuck as if she was transferring them to another computer guy. While Chuck talked, Sarah and Casey traced the call. By the end of the call, they had a name and an IP address. The person planned to bring in the computer within the hour.
Chuck slipped into the back waiting for Sarah to bring in the computer. "You look amazing. You free tonight?"
"Chuck this is an open feed. And I don't think that Casey cares to hear."
"Awe come on Casey; you're interested right?"
"Oh yes, definitely." With a sarcastic tone.
The three laughed.
Sarah sat at the desk waiting for the customer as Casey watched from the parking lot. And Chuck talking sweet nothing in her ear. When the guy finally appeared, Casey followed him inside. Sarah watched as a young male about mid to late 20's came in. He looked the part of a computer nerd that got over his head and mistaking tried to fix the laptop when a virus overtook his computer. Sarah smiled as the laptop was placed on the counter. "Hi, can I help you?"
"You Sarah?"
"I am."
"We talked on the phone."
"Oh, yes Doug."
"Yeah, can you fix it?"
Sarah smiled then turned the laptop around and started it up as she heard Chuck's voice through the earpiece. Click on the windows icon AltDel. Then wait. He will ask what's wrong. If he is a true nerd, he'll know what they screen says but if he is unsure, he will have to give you, his password. Sarah turned the laptop around then mentioned that she'd need his password. He was hesitant at first then wrote it down as Chuck quickly waited as Sarah typed it in giving him an override access to the laptop. Chuck ran a quick scan allowing him to have access to his computer with out him knowing. Sarah faked some keystrokes then smiled. "I can have this ready for you later today?"
Doug looked up. "Super."
Sarah filled out a slip and handed it over to him then walked the laptop back where Chuck was waiting for her. Sarah placed the laptop down. Chuck smiled as he took it and started searching what he had on his laptop. He transferred all the files that had key words or keystrokes he hoped would give him answers. He also copied down a few IP addresses.
Sarah slid her arms around him as he leaned back. "IP addresses?"
"Yeah."
"Why would he have so many IP addresses?"
Chuck waited; he knew that Sarah would figure it out. "Unless he was connected to something that he needed to keep an eye on."
"Exactly."
"Anything illegal?"
"No but he does have a few cryptic files that I will have to decipher."
"Won't he know that the file was opened?"
Chuck looked up at her. "Aren't you a smart one."
"I have picked up a few things."
"Yeah, he would know if the files were open but if he opens them up for us."
"Chuck."
"What?" Sarah leaned closer as she watched his hands type away uploading a ghost file. "This will allow us to watch what he uploads, talk to or is corresponding to. When he clicked on the link earlier it opened his laptop almost like he left the door open a crack and it allowed us to get in."
"Your virus trap."
"Yes, it was a virus. I call it the Irene Demova Virusnamed after the Serbian porn star Irene Demova. It could kill a computer if people clicked on her website. But I changed the variants so that those poor souls would only have their laptops stall long enough that they would have to seek support. But eventually the virus if downloaded when her website was accessed would kill the computer that downloaded it. I am guessing that this laptop is just the one he uses to access the rest."
Chuck did a hard shut down and in seconds the computer was up and running. Chuck turned and looked at Sarah. "Go lock the door."
Sarah smiled then walked over and locked the door as Chuck stood up and walked towards her. He picked her up giving her a long passionate kiss. Sarah's skirt slipped up allowing her to wrap her legs around his hips. He pushed her against the corner holding her close. He ran his hand up the side of her leg grabbing her underwear. He lowered her legs as he crouched down slipping her underwear down and helping her slip out of them. He stood up as she reached for his belt and slipped his pants down. He lifted her up again pushing her into the wall once again. She kissed him as she felt their bodies change. It was fast, but oh so needed. Chuck leaned into her as Sarah slipped his shirt off and he managed to slip open hers placing his lips on her chest. He turned the two of them as he placed her on the counter. He held her legs close to his as they continued to move as one. Sarah dragged her fingers up and down his back as they reached the end. Their lips drawing out long and short kisses. Sarah held him close as they tried to catch their breath.
He stopped and looked at her as he grabbed her necklace and her wedding rings. Sarah kissed the side of his head. "They need to be worn." He fingered them with his fingers. "They will."
He got dressed then headed to the door. "Call Doug back and tell him his computer is ready." Sarah looked at him. "You're forgetting something."
Chuck looked at her. She was pointing to her lips. "Me bad."
He walked over as she fixed his collar. He placed her lips on hers giving her a long passionate kiss. "That's better." Chuck smiled.
Sarah walked out with the laptop as Chuck slipped out back. He stopped and watched her remembering holding her rings. He was about to step out when he turned and walked back into the store. Morgan saw him and walked over. Chuck was focussed. He walked to the desk where Sarah looked up. He smiled then leaned in. "Just go with it."
"Hi Chuck."
"Hey Sarah."
Morgan, Jeff, and Lester swarmed the desk like flies on a burger. Chuck wet his lips. Sarah like the motion. "Sarah are you. I mean would you like to go out with me tonight."
"A date."
"Yeah, with me. No guns."
Sarah laughed then got serious.
She tilted her head slightly. "Yes."
Chuck smiled as Morgan, Jeff, and Lester high fived each other. "Okay. Pick you up after your shift."
Chuck walked away.
"Chuck."
Chuck turned around.
"I get off at five."
Chuck nodded then left.
Sarah waited outside as she waited for Chuck. Her peripheral picked up three minions watching behind one of the benches near the Buy More. She shook her head. Minutes later Chuck drove up, getting out and opening the door for her. Sarah looked at him. "We aren't alone." She motioned with her head as Chuck looked up seeing the three. He waited till she got in then closed the door. He opened his side and yelled towards the three. "Good night, guys."
The three scattered like those flies. Sarah waited till Chuck drove away from the store and she asked him to stop. Chuck slowed down and pulled over. He put the truck in park as Sarah leaned over giving him a kiss. He returned several. "I know what you're doing?"
"I am taking out a very special lady."
"Yes, you are but since this afternoon in the back room and holding my rings."
"I want to show you off, show what we have. I didn't want to come out here and not be your husband and you be my wife."
"So, you want to date me?"
"Well, we are already sleeping together and are married so why not work backwards. At least that is what people will see."
Sarah sat back as Chuck drove through the parking lot.
Chuck drove Sarah back to the Buy More to get her car and headed home. The next day word got around that Sarah had a date with one Chuck Bartowski. By the end of the week by their records she had been on a date every night.
Chuck walked into Buy More with officially two weeks of 'dating' Sarah. He walked up to her giving her a kiss. It was rated PG-13 much to what she got that morning at home. Chuck had brought her lunch as she couldn't leave the desk. They shared what Chuck had brought. "Are you sure you have to work late."
"Yeah, between the spy thing and my other job I have been slacking on the latter." Despite how tired Chuck looked he kept on going. "I better go. You don't need to wait up for me."
"You know I will."
"I know that too." He leaned in as Sarah kissed him lingering a little longer. She whispered in his ear. "Love you." "Love you too."
Chuck headed out.
Later that evening
Morgan walked through the Buy More restocking shelves. He looked up and saw Ellie. "Morgan."
"Ellie?"
"Have you seen Chuck?"
"He doesn't work here anymore."
"I know that, but he hasn't returned my calls and he seems to be avoiding."
"He's busy with his new job and."
"And what Morgan."
Morgan looked up. "He has a lady friend."
Ellie looked at him. "What lady friend?"
"Our boy Chuck has a girlfriend."
"News to me."
"Oh, they have been going out for a few weeks. Great gal. She works here. Her name is Sarah."
"Sarah."
"Yeah, very pretty as well."
"Thanks Morgan."
"No problem."
Ellie headed out of the Buy More grabbing her phone. She got his voice mail. Her message less than welcoming. "Chuck who is Sarah and why does Morgan know about her and I don't."
