Robert and Holly were sitting at the table, they had had a romantic evening but both of their minds were on Sasha. Would she be okay? Did she need them? They didn't want to be overbearing, they would let her come to them but there was a big part of both of them that just wanted to protect her.
"Thinking about Sasha, huh?" Robert asked as he held her hand.
Holly snapped out of her thoughts. "What? Oh yes. Sorry."
"Don't be sorry, I'm worried about our daughter too. As brave as she is we both know how scary the world can be." Robert replied to Holly.
"It really can be. I would have never made it without my mother's help. I would have never given up our daughter though, ever." Holly told Robert, this hurt her heart because of these memories that didn't make sense of her giving up Ethan.
"That picture you gave me of her is very special. I want to know everything about her childhood." Robert told Holly.
"I can definitely tell you about when I was around and when my mum would give me updates. I wish I could tell you more." Holly would always regret not being there with Sasha all the time.
Robert took her hand and kissed it. "We can't go back, only forward. You are here for her now."
Holly nodded and smiled at Robert, he really was so incredible. She didn't know how she was this lucky. "You know what I would like to do?" Holly asked him as she reached over and ran her fingers through his hair.
"Dance?" Robert asked, knowing Holly better than anyone else.
"You ready my mind." The two of them got up and went to the dance floor, swaying with each other and enjoying their first Valentine's Day together in years.
February 14th, 1998
Sasha had helped make Holly cookies and had made her a card. She promised she would be here today and Sasha couldn't wait. She had told everyone at school all day and now it was almost time. She stood looking at the door waiting.
Holly had gotten in early and talked to her mother about surprising Sasha. Catherine had gone back to let Holly know Sasha was waiting. She had a gigantic bear she had gotten Sasha, she knew Robert would have had he still been here, she sat it in the kitchen then snuck up behind Sasha, lifting her up. "Are you waiting for someone?"
Sasha squealed as she saw Holly. She gave her a hug. "Mommy!"
"Happy Valentine's Day, my darling!" Holly hugged her tightly.
"I knew you'd be here!" Sasha didn't want to let her mom go.
"There's someone in the kitchen waiting to see you and Ralphie." Holly told Sasha as she sat her back down.
Sasha grabbed Ralphie as she ran into the kitchen, seeing the big bear. "Mommy!" She hugged the bear. "I love it!" She ran over and hugged Holly.
Holly hugged her back, still wishing she could spend every day with hers and Robert's miracle. "I love you, Sasha. With all of my heart."
