Shinoku smiled as he headed to the boys dorm, his tail wagging as thoughts of spending the night with Anya filled his head. Still, he could not help but reflect on the events from earlier. He had openly declared war for the title of beastar far earlier than he had intended. Not only that, but had told the guys in the drama club too. "Ah crap, thanks to that scuffle with Bill I now have to worry about Louis more, not to mention make sure the guys in the club let me start trying to be beastar when I want." He thought to himself.
"I'm sure they will, but as for Louis...he's another story." Shinoku mentally bemoaned, only for his eyes to narrow in anger as he reflected on Louis' arrogant presumption of who he was. "Bastard, judging me like he has me figured out…he needs to be taken down a peg or two. I don't care what his beef with carnivores is, he has no right to judge us like that." A low growl emitted from his throat as he continued to think on the matter. Normally the preconceptions of others rarely bothered Shinoku, but Louis, Louis was an exception. Perhaps it was his arrogant demeanor, that judgmental condescending tone of his and those eyes so full of contempt, traits Shinoku found very unbecoming of someone seeking to make the world better.
Still, the red deer had him at a massive disadvantage, it was going to take an insane amount of work and effort to turn the rest of the students towards his favor so that the school board considered him the best candidate. And in truth, the only way that could even begin to happen would be if the right opportunity presented itself. But for now though Otis had his full attention, he was a much bigger threat than Louis for obvious reasons. Just the thought of the doberman made him growl more as he clenched his fist, the brute daring to even attempt to potentially hit Anya made his blood boil. Such is the nature of wolves, to be fiercely protective and loyal. Shin let out a sigh, trying to calm himself. He was grateful that Dante didn't press further, he half wanted to believe the old man believed him and wasn't suspicious, but at the same time he also knew better than that.
Although there was one thing that surprised Shinoku, the fact that Anya had managed to keep the likes of Otis a secret from others. Not that he was going to complain, if she hadn't been able to then there would have been zero chance of them ever meeting due to her dad. Shinoku quickly shook his head, he had already dealt with enough as it is for the day, and wanted to get back to looking forward to spending the night with Anya. As he neared the male carnivore dorm he saw Vega standing by the door.
"Hey Vega." Shinoku said as he approached his friend.
"Oh hey Shin, the others are about done getting your spare supplies for staying with Anya ready." Vega said as he looked at Shinoku.
"Thanks...but I was going to help." Shinoku said with slight objection.
Vega chuckled. "Well too bad, we didn't know how long you'd take talking to your coach so we decided not to waste any time." Vega said with a smile.
Shinoku let out a slight sigh. "Fair enough, better head up to the room then to get them." He said as he headed into the dorm, Vega following alongside. "Oh, and I will be paying you guys back for anything you might have needed to buy."
"That'd be nice, if it weren't for the fact we agreed you'd do nothing of the sort." Vega remarked.
"But..." Shinoku protested.
"No buts." Vega said firmly. "We all agreed that with the situation Anya is in, that it's the least we can do." He added. "So long as that Otis guy is around you, being with her in case he shows up is priority one. She's your first after all, no way in hell are we going to let you lose that to a dick like him." The African lion said.
Shinoku blinked, unable to hold back the look of humbled gratitude. "Again...thank you."
"Think nothing of it." Vega said. "Just make sure our effort doesn't go to waste."
Shinoku nodded. "I won't." He assured. "Oh, and I have some news for you as well."
Vega blinked as he looked at Shinoku, his ruby eyes focusing questioningly on the arctic wolf. "Oh?" He asked.
"Yeah, Anya actually talked to Sheila about what kind of guy she was into and if she was single." Shinoku stated.
"Well don't leave me hanging, what did she say?!" Vega asked somewhat anxiously, trying his best to hold back his excitement and slight nerves.
Shinoku couldn't help but smirk a bit, he thought about letting Vega squirm a bit as payback for the princess thing, but decided against it sense he was helping him out. "Good news is, she's single." He said simply, unable to resist doing that much at least.
"There's bad news?" Vega asked with slight concern.
"No, better news. She actually likes rather bold and genuinely nice guys who like to have fun. Definitely have to make her laugh and smile, not picky on species either." Shinoku said. "Definitely sounds similar to you."
Vega lit up slightly as he heard, his tail giving a quick flick of happiness to the news. "I definitely can do bold and fun, genuinely nice too.."
"If a bit of a smart ass." Shinoku smirked.
"Lovable smart ass." Vega countered. "Also..." he trailed off as he punched Shin's arm. "That's for making me think there was bad news."
Shinoku chuckled. "Think of it as payback for the princess thing."
Vega just chuckled. "Sensitive are we? I could tell the others abou-" he then stopped as he saw a hint of a glare from Shinoku. "What, only Anya gets to call you princess?" he teased, only to stumble sideways as he received a punch to his arm.
"Shut up." Shinoku said with some fluster.
Vega just chuckled. "Worth it."
Shinoku just rolled his eyes a bit, much to Vega's further amusement. "I'll remember this when I overhear Sheila calling you something like that."
Vega only grinned. "Bring it on."
Shinoku shook his head in slight defeat, making the jaguar chuckle. Sometimes he could be a bit much. But still, he was as good a friend as Shinoku's other roommates, even if he could be a bit of an ass. With that, the two continued up the stairs to the eighth floor, heading right to their room.
"Hey Shin, we're almost done." Sebastian said as the two walked into the room. "Vega tell you about us going ahead and getting what we needed to from the school's store?" He asked.
"Yeah, but I'm still not really happy that you didn't let me pitch in with that part." Shinoku replied. "I'm still really grateful though."
"Hey, we're friends, and doing gestures like that are what friends are for. Plus, you're doing a very kind thing by staying with Anya during this whole Otis situation." Sebastian countered.
"Yeah, so just relax, we want to help you any way we can." Hassan chimed in.
"That, and I'm sure you want to conserve your energy for Anya." Jax grinned mischievously.
"Shut up!" Shinoku blurted in embarrassment, much to the other's amusement. "Oh, by the way." Shinoku said as he looked at Hassan, "I'd like to thank you for teaching me those judo moves, having a friend in the Judo club pays off at times." Shinoku said, causing the jackal to blink as they all looked at Shin.
"What happened this time?" Sebastian asked with only slight concern.
"Well...I may have had a bit of an incident in Drama club today." Shinoku said simply.
"What, did you get in a fight with Louis and kick his ass?" Vega joked.
"No." Shinoku replied. "Remember the detail about me telling Bill, the tiger I mentioned before, off for his behavior?"
"Yeah…" Vega commented.
"I can already see where this is going..." Hassan added.
"Well…before club started he may have sniffed Anya on me and…" Shinoku explained.
"And proceeded to attack you right?" Sebastian asked, assuming what was most likely to have happened.
"Yeah…" Shinoku replied with a nod "Got a punch in, but only because I wasn't really expecting him to overreact that much. Though I can understand him doing so."
"How bad was the fight?" Hassan asked.
"Not bad at all, I used that one move you taught me to subdue him before things got out of hand." Shinoku answered. "We managed to talk things out, though Louis wasn't happy."
"I bet he wasn't." Sebastian said. "How bad did he lay into you two?" He asked.
"Not incredibly so, but he was pissed." Shinoku replied. "Though he did have a few things to say to me after that in private." He added.
Sebastian arched a brow. "What did he say?"
"Just that I'm the type of carnivore who'd become a problem and is most likely to give into my instincts." Shinoku replied with annoyance towards Louis. "Then he tried to emphasize the point by forcing his hand in my mouth and asking what it'd take for me to eat it." He added.
"Wow…what a dick." Vega said with a rather displeased expression.
"I'll say." Jax piped in,
"I have to agree." Hassan chimed in.
"Please tell us you gave as good as you got." Vega asked.
"Well, yeah, I didn't take it lying down." Shinoku assured. "Told him essentially he had no right to judge me, followed by pretty much telling him I had intentions of becoming the beastar. That was followed by more posturing, threats of crushing me if I tried to compete with him for the title or his part in the club." He added.
"How'd you respond?" Jax asked with interest.
"Told him that he should worry about both, things pretty much ended with me saying his pride will lead to a fall and flipping him off as I left." Shinoku said matter of factly.
"My man." Jax said with a big grin.
"That has got to be one of the most badass things I've heard you do, wish I could've been there to see Louis' face." Vega chuckled.
"Yeah...well, I wish I hadn't told him about me wanting to be the beastar until after Otis was dealt with." Shinoku sighed before shrugging. "But what happened happened."
"Do you think this will cause any issues in the club? I'm surprised he didn't kick you out of it right there and then." Sebastian inquired.
"I don't think it will, right now I think we're more just sizing each other up." Shinoku replied. "For all the things I don't like about Louis' attitude, he does know how to be reasonable and professional."
"Do the other club members know?" Hassan asked.
"I might have told the guys in the locker room, but they seem pretty chill about it for the most part." Shinoku answered. "Plus they seem rather supportive of me wanting to try to be the beastar, even respecting me not wanting to wait a bit before doing so." He added.
"Well that's good to hear." Hassan said with a slight smile. "Also, I told you others would be supportive of you if you just showed them the real you."
"Yeah yeah." Shinoku slightly muttered.
Hassan chuckled a bit. "Anyway, we're all done and you're good to go man." he said as he moved over to Shin with Sebastian, handing the arctic wolf some of his gym bags that they used.
"Again, I can't thank you guys enough." Shinoku said.
"Hey, just make sure you keep Anya safe and that you don't screw things up. Not that we think you would or could." Hassan smirked.
Shinoku just lightly chuckled. "By the way, did you also pack Natalia?"
"We thought about it.." Jax replied. "But then me and Jax figured you'd be too preoccupied with Anya making out to really take care of her." He teased as Vega grinned.
"I think what Jax means is that we decided to look after Natalia while you're over there to help you out a bit more." Sebastian clarified. "Plus it's not like you're moving in with her."
"Really?" Vega blinked. I was about to make plans on turning his bunk into a shelf for my stuff." He joked.
"Hey, who said you had dibs on his bunk?" Jax countered. I thought I had a claim on that." He mock pouted. "I had already planned to use it to store my excess manga."
"Alright you two, I think that's enough." Sebastian cut in. "Besides, I think I should have claim on it for being the more rational one here." the lion then chuckled. "At any rate, We thought we'd take care of Natalia, give you a bit less to worry about."
Shinoku nodded. "Alright. Well, guess I'll get going then, see you guys tomorrow." He said as he went and grabbed his spare supplies to take with him.
"Yeah, take care Shin, and try not to have too much fun." Vega smirked.
Shinoku glared at Vega as he flustered a little, much to the others amusement. Walking down the stairs, Shinoku couldn't help but still be amazed at how things had so quickly progressed. Sure he didn't really mind at all that he was now staying the night with Anya, but he still couldn't believe that it was actually happening to some degree. He then shook his head slightly, deciding not to overthink things. So far, other than the situation with Otis, he couldn't have hoped for a better way things were going.
There was only two other things that concerned him: successfully sneaking into Anya's room a second time without getting caught, and the eventual teasing his sister would do when the time came to introduce Anya. 'introduce Anya to my family...' Shinoku thought, in truth he hadn't ever thought about ever introducing a girl to them. The thought was...nice, it made his tail wag a bit while he left the boy's dorm and started making his way towards the girl's. Though thoughts of such were quickly swept away as he soon saw Legosi headed towards the dorm. As they drew nearer to each other, Legosi looked at Shinoku somewhat curiously, as to the gray wolf it seemed rather odd for someone like Shinoku to be heading somewhere with his gym bags rather late in the day.
"Oh, hey." Shinoku said as he came to a stop, looking at Legosi.
"Hey...you going somewhere?" Legoshi asked.
Shinoku blinked, keeping himself composed and trying not to seem suspicious. "Oh, uh, I was just thinking I'd see if I could get some extra boxing practice in. You know, considering I'm trying to juggle two clubs now." Shinoku lied.
Legosi looked at him for a moment, though Shinoku managed to keep a composed face. "I see...makes sense." Legosi said with a slight nod, "Do you think you'll be able to keep up giving both clubs enough time?"
"I should…" Shinoku answered. "Nothing I haven't managed to do before, just takes getting into a routine."
"Fair enough." Legoshi said simply. "By the way, there was something I wanted to ask you." He added as his face became more questioning and slightly more serious. "Earlier, what happened between you and Bill that caused Louis to talk to you both?" The grey wolf asked.
"Oh...uh...Well..." Shinoku moved his hand to the back of his head, rubbing it slightly. "Rather silly really...Kind of feel bad about it." He continued. "I might have gotten onto him about his behavior towards girls with stripes then proceeded to...kinda…well get with Anya." The arctic wolf answered. "Needless to say he took it as me being hypocritical."
"Oh." Legoshi remarked. "Bill does have a tendency to act before he thinks."
"Yeah...but we're good now." Shinoku assured.
"That's good to hear." Legosi said, though he still looked rather serious. "One other thing, is it really just a top performer thing going on between you and Louis?"
Shinoku blinked at the question, not really expecting it. It seemed like the gray wolf was rather...protective? No...more...reverent of the dear. It was only fair, Legosi had been in the club longer than him and probably had a better rapport with Louis. "Kind of." Shinoku stated. "It's a mixture of that and his own preconceived notions of me. But as I said, I won't be trying to cause any problems with him if that's what you're worried about."
The answer seemed to satisfy Legosi, as he went back to his typical aloof expression. "I see, well I suppose such things can't be helped between animals like you two. It's good to hear though that you're willing to be friendly."
'friendly, right. I get the feeling it's going to be more jabs and subtle warfare. Not that I mind, I'll just keep giving him as good as I get.' Shinoku thought before replying. "Yeah."
"Anyway, I better get back to my room, hope things go well with being in two clubs and see you tomorrow." Legoshi said as he started making his way to the male carnivore dorm again.
"Thanks, see you tomorrow as well." Shinoku said before the two parted ways. He had thought about talking to Legosi more, see what made the other wolf the way he was, but he had already probably kept Anya waiting longer than either of them liked and decided against it. 'Another time, I'm sure there will be other opportunities.' the white wolf thought as he headed towards the female dorms.
As he neared the girl's dorm he gulped, it was already late and he was probably at a bigger risk of getting caught. Still, he had already come this far and had promised Anya, and he wasn't about to let her down now...or ever. As he drew closer to the dorm he kept on alert, eyes peeled for any female students or the dorm mother. Managing to reach the door Shinoku let out a quick sigh of relief, though he still knew that he had to make it to Anya's room.
Entering the girl's dorm he was even more cautious, sneaking as quietly as he could and ready to spring into hiding at the slightest sound. For the first few feet things seemed to be just as clear as when he had carried Anya back to her room, he even felt like he could get away with it not issue a second time and could not be as alert. That quickly changed however as he heard the dorm mother coming down the flight of stairs. Shinoku panicked, almost stumbling on himself and dropping his bags.
Looking about he quickly found the restroom door and as quickly as he could snuck a peek, seeing no one, at least not at the sinks, he quickly dashed in just before the dorm mother had entered the hall. His heart pounded as he stood by the door, 'Oh god, I'm screwed if she saw me.' he thought, 'I hope no one's in here….' Shinoku didn't even dare to breathe as he listened, heart continuing to race as he heard the form mother walk by.
He waited, listening till she had gotten far enough away that he felt comfortable to take a peak. Looking about he didn't see anyone and slowly exited the restroom. 'That was too close.' he thought, 'I'm just glad no girls were in there...' he shuddered as he thought of how badly the scenario would had went. He once more made a quiet dash towards Anya's room, letting out a sigh of relief as he reached it. 'We need to think of a better way to do this...' he sighed internally. Still, she was worth it, he would run any risk for her as often as he needed, no matter what it was. With that, he entered her room, a smile on his face.
