As early morning came Shinoku and Anya went through what had now become a standard routine for them. What had once started as just a precaution by Shinoku in case Otis attempted anything, now felt more like a natural thing for the pair. Anya smiled as she watched Shinoku go through his morning routine, tail idly flicking side to side in enjoyment as she purred in delight. Still, despite how much enjoyment she got out of watching Shinoku work out in his underwear, the feeling from last night lingered.
In fact, it had grown, as though her feline instincts were screaming to her that there was grave danger imminent. She tried to ignore it the best she could though, knowing full well that any other feline would scold her for doing so. It was her life though, she was not going to let some, admittedly accurate, feelings make rule over her and control how she reacted.
"How's the thigh?" Shinoku asked as he walked over to her after he finished.
"Fine I think." Anya said as she started to get out of the bed, seemingly alright as she walked. "I might be able to..." She winced as she almost stumbled.
"Uh huh..." Shinoku commented as he helped her stay steady. "Looks like you're staying in bed today."
Anya pouted a bit. "Fine…" She muttered as she got back on the bed. "As if this feeling that won't go away wasn't bad enough…."
Shinoku looked at her with an arched brow. "Feeling?" He asked.
"Yeah...been having this feeling since last night; kind of a feline thing." Anya replied. "We get these feelings when there's either danger looming or death." She explained. "Most felines that feel like their death is near will seclude themselves and get things in order."
Shinoku's expression immediately went into worried concern. "Are you saying you fell like you're-"
"What, no!" Anya interrupted/ "Well...I don't know….I mean it isn't THAT kind of feeling...I don't think so at least. More...that something bad is going to happen."
Shinoku sighed. "Well, you're not exactly the only one…."
Anya blinked as she looked at him. "What do you mean?"
"Well...for a few days, starting when we got back to the girl's dorm from the carnivore gathering." Shinoku admitted. "I got this feeling like either I or both of us were being watched..."
"Really?" Anya asked.
"Yeah…" Shinoku replied. "I didn't mention it because I didn't want to worry you. Thing is, whenever I went to look I found nothing so I just choked it up to paranoia..." He added as he sat on the bed.
Anya frowned as she looked at him. "You should have told me though..."
"I know…" Shinoku admitted. "But it wasn't all the time and only in certain instances….I'm sorry." Hr appologized. "As I said, I thought it was just paranoia, but if you're feeling like there's danger...maybe I should stay with you today..."
"It's fine." Anya said before smiling faintly. "Like you said it might just be your paranoia if you never found anything." She said as she gently rubbed the back of his hand. "As for staying with me…while VERY tempting…I'll be fine. I don't want you missing classes because of me."
"Are you sure?" Shinoku asked. "I mean I'm more than willing to-"
"I'll be fine Shin." Anya insisted. "Besides didn't Louis say that you can't miss ANY club time for now? Don't want to give him any excuses. And you not being in the club to dance with me is not something I want." She countered.
Shinoku sighed in defeat. "Fine...BUT to keep my mind at ease, if you can, meet me and the guys at the cafeteria for lunch or if you can't text me?"
Anya's smiled as she pat his cheek. "I can do that, but you're such a worrier Shin, it's kind of a negative thing."
"Is it negative when it concerns the girl I like, wanting to make sure she's safe and alright?" Shinoku countered.
"Yes." Anya said as she stuck out her tongue. "I can take care of myself you know."
"I know." Shinoku smiled. "But still...you are my first girlfriend and well...you're special to me." He added as he kissed Anya's cheek.
Anya blushed as she smiled warmly. "You goof." She said before kissing his cheek as she chuffed. "You're my first too."
A smile formed on Shinoku's mouth. "Have I ever told you how adorably cute your chuff is?"
Anya's blush only deepened as she covered her face a little. "Noooooo…." She said bashfully. "My chuffing is just a normal instinct to being content, comfortable, or happy…it's not anything special at all." She protested.
Shinoku chuckled a bit as he nuzzled Anya. "Well it's a very beautiful, if cute, chuff to me."
Anya just blushed all the more. "Stoooop."
"No." Shinoku said with a grin before pecking her on the cheek.
Anya pouted. "Why must you be so sweet?"
"Because I love you." Shinoku grinned.
Anya playfully hits him. "Stop being so pure."
"Never." Shinoku grinned.
Anya batted him lightly before pulling him down next to her, cuddling against Shinoku as she kissed him a few times. "You're way too good to me...comfortable too." She chuffed. "I could just stay like this."
"Same." Shinoku smiled. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay? I'm willing to risk getting an earful from Louis, especially with this feeling you're having."
"Yes I'm sure Shin, I'll be fine." Anya insisted. "Plus I did promise to meet you at lunch if I could and text you if I couldn't."
"Fine…" Shinoku relented.
Anya smiled as she kissed him. "Now, if I'm only going to get to see you once today during school, I'm going to need something to hold me over~."
Shinoku blinked. "Really, with how your thigh is?"
"You have to take responsibility for getting me in heat, this should be the last day of it though. Besides, I'm sure you can be gentle." Anya grinned.
Shinoku once again blinked, a bemused chuckle escaping his lips. "Alright, but you really are insatiable."
Anya giggled. "What can I say, I can be a little greedy." She purred.
Shinoku chuckled again before embracing Anya, the two sharing loving and ever deepening kisses and proceeding to show their love. When they had finished, the two lay panting on the bed a warm smile on Anya's face as she nuzzled Shinoku. "Mmmm...That will definitely hold me over on affection until lunch." She giggled.
Shinoku just chuckled at the comment. "I should probably get ready so I can get some breakfast." He said as he sat up.
"I'll miss you." Anya said as she smiled.
"Same." Shinoku said as he went to get ready, kissing her when he finished. "Well, see you in a bit….are you sur-"
"Yes I'm sure you dork." Anya interrupted. "The only thing I should be worried about is being a bit bored….and missing you." She grinned.
Shin smiled back with a faint blush. "Alright, later."
"Later." Anya said as watched Shin leave, watching Shinoku check the halls, unashamedly eyeing him. She watched as he then went to the window and made his way out that way before laying back fully with a slight sigh before pulling out her phone.
As Shinoku made his way carefully made his way from the girl's dorm he continued to think about Anya's bad feeling, hoping that she was right and that it was ultimately something that would pass that they didn't need to worry about. But given what she told him about it being usually an accurate feeling, combined with the feeling he had of them being watched and Otis still being a factor, he couldn't help but worry. Still, deep down, he kind of hoped that Anya might be right and there was nothing to worry about, even if he knew better.
Felix sat in his room, dreading what was going to happen, he thought and mulled it over. Hell, he had been most of the night, barely able to get sleep as he ran through every scenario he could in his head. Otis was becoming unhinged with his obsession with Anya, dangerously so. The fact he killed that young doberman for taking too many pictures of her was evidence of that. But what could he do? He could try to end it himself, shoot Otis and take his chances.
But would that even work? The other doberman had his fair number of die hard loyalists and the rest feared him unto death. Plus there was the fact he never really killed anyone himself. Not just that, but in some way he still felt he couldn't after all Otis had done for him all those years ago before he became the leader.
It was a risk, a massive one. As he ran through the scenario over and over it all lead to the most likely outcomes that he would either choke and Otis would shoot him, one of the others would before he could pull the trigger, or he succeeded but one of Otis' most trusted would kill him and just out of respect still see the plan through. He had seen how some of the others looked at Anya, when Otis wasn't paying attention, so there was no guarantee of keeping her safe other than going through with the plan and hoping he could help her in some way or something unexpected would happen.
He sighed as he he stood up, mentally preparing himself for the task to come. He didn't like it one bit, but given no reliable alternative he had no other choice. As he heard a knock at his door he went to open it, being told that Otis wanted to see him and to be ready. Felix complied, feeling all the more dread as he followed the doberman to Otis. When they got there Otis glared at Felix a group of four other dobermans stood nearby.
"Isn't this a bit much for one kid?" Felix asked meekly.
"Only two are for that bastard, the rest are to get Anya and keep an eye on you." Otis replied as he continued to glare. "I don't trust you not to try anything so you are to stay in the car. You do ANYTHING and well...I can always find someone else who can have the kind of connections you do." He added.
Felix held back a gulp, understanding the threat fully. There was nothing he could do, his hands completely tied. Still, he had to at least try reason. "Are you sure sending two armed gang members into Cherryton Academy is a good idea?"
Otis growled. "I'm not a fucking idiot. I'm going to text Anya, tell her to meet me outside the entrance. Then I've instructed them to wait for the mutt, no doubt he'll come looking for her when she doesn't come back. And when he does..." a viscous malevolent grin formed on his mouth, one so sadistic that it caused Felix to shudder a bit.
"O-of course." Felix complied, cursing that Otis was so adept at planning such things.
"Good, then be ready, you'll be leaving soon. And remember...NO funny business." Otis coldly threatened.
Anya laid in her room, getting up every now and then to walk a little to stretch her legs enough to not get any cramps. She went to look out her window and sighed, it was getting a bit boring, quite boring actually. Not only that, but she was starting to really miss Shinoku too. Thankfully it was getting close to lunch where she could attempt to eat with him, her thigh be damned.
She moved back to her bed, laying down as she hoped Shinoku was having a less boring day, even with her not with him. Her train of thought was interrupted though when she received a text message from…Otis? She was slightly surprised that he had just now texted her, thinking he would sooner. Actually, she had kind of forgotten that he had stormed off angrily after Shinoku intervened.
Not wanting to be rude, especially considering she knew his temper, she read the message. "We need to talk, meet me at the school's entrance, it's important." she read, only to blink afterword.
Otis rarely gave her a heads up, if really ever. Had he finally come to his senses? Maybe he finally realized that she just wasn't into him like he wanted her to be and wanted to be friends like they were before. Still, the feeling she had seemed to intensify, but she couldn't help but want to believe the best in Otis's intentions. If nothing else, she did feel like Otis deserved some show of good faith, if he really wanted to talk, then she'd talk.
Looking at the time she saw that it was getting close to lunch. "I'm sure it won't take that long..." She thought before replying that she would but that she hoped it won't take long.
Getting up she quickly got ready, making sure she looked relatively nice before heading out of her room. As she made her way to the School's entrance she made sure to pace herself so as to not strain her thigh. Of course, it didn't help that the feeling of dread and unease continued to build as she got closer to the entrance. Sure she was not comfortable around Otis at times, having similar feelings when he got...unpleasant or pushy, but in the end she was always able to talk him down.
Besides, if he truly did just want to talk, and had finally realized that she just wasn't into him and was willing to acknowledge it, why not meet him? Although she did somewhat dread telling him that the 'friend' was now actually her boyfriend, maybe she'd save that fact for if and when what she was hoping would happen happened. After all, no need to upset him unnecessarily before things go as she hoped.
Last thing she needs is to upset Otis even more, especially if he wasn't here to say they can just be friends. She did NOT want a repeat of how she got with Shinoku, or Otis to use threats involving her younger brother again. As she neared the school's entrance she stopped, the feeling of imminent danger now suffocating. Not just that, but she couldn't see Otis. She knew he was not the type to just not come on school grounds, so the fact he wasn't was rather concerning.
Out of all the time they knew each other, for him to suddenly want to not be so brazen or even likely seen was very concerning. Still, despite her ever growing trepidation and deep down knowing better, she willed herself against the fearful feeling that kept growing to move forward, making her way to the entrance.
As she stepped beyond the entrance to the school she was not met by the sight of Otis, but instead four of his men and what seemed to be a solemn looking Felix in one of the cars they used. "What the hell's going on? Where's Otis?" She asked.
"Boss is tired of your games." One of the dobermans responded.. "He knows about you and that fleabag so you're coming with us."
Anya felt herself go ice cold with fear, this was the absolute WORST thing that could happen. She stood there in panic for a moment before quickly trying to run from them only to be blocked from the entrance. 'Dammit...Why didn't I listen to my feelings?' She cursed herself, going to punch one of the doberman's blocking her way and managing to knock him back a little before being retrained by one of the two behind her.
She struggled and squirmed, elbowing the doberman restraining her hard in the gut and managing to get one arm free. Causing him to curse in the process. As the two that blocked her escaped came close she extended her claws and swiped at them, leaving a nice gash across the other's face. As he stumbled back she headbutted the one holding her, freeing herself fully and kneeing him in the gut. She then proceeded to deck the one approaching her, hissing fiercely before glaring at an ashamed looking Felix. But before she could do any more damage they all came at her at once, one delivering a powerful hit across the face as another kicked her. The ones she had blocked her path managed to get her to the ground with a few more hits as the one that had originally restrained her delivered the knockout punch and a kick for good measure, leaving the tigress bruised from their punishment.
"Shit...boss isn't going to be happy...what do we tell him?" The doberman that had stayed near the car originally asked.
"I'm sure he'll understand Luke, bitch wasn't cooperating, just hope he understands." The one who originally restrained her replied
"Let's hope so Marcus…." Luke said as he carried Anya to the car, his friend getting the rope they had in case they needed to restrain her her hands and gagged her just in case.
"Frank, Damion, You two got this? She did get you pretty good." Marcus asked the other two as he put Anya in the back of the car.
"Please, we've dealt with worse." Frank replied.
"Yeah, she only grazed my face a bit, nothing bad." Damion chimed in.
"Alright, see ya back at the compound then. Oh, and give the mutt a punch for us." Marcus said with a grin.
"Will do." Frank replied with a grin. "See you in a bit, shouldn't take too long to put this mutt down." he chuckled.
"Wanna place money on that?" Luke asked with a chuckle.
"You saying we can't handle one mutt?" Damien growled.
"No, just just wanted to piss ya off a little." Luke snickered. "See ya." with that he and Marcus got in the car and left with Felix, leaving Damian and Frank to wait for Shinoku to show up looking for Anya.
As Shinoku made his way to the cafeteria he stopped just outside of it to wait for Anya, hoping that she might be able to make it to eat lunch with him. He had missed her more than he thought he would. That, and he was also still worried about that feeling she had. As he waited, his friends came by on their way to get their food.
"Hey Shin, waiting on Anya?" Vega asked.
"Yeah..." Shinoku replied. "Though I'm still worried..." He admitted.
"That feeling you told us she had?" Sebastian asked.
Shinoku nodded slightly. "Yeah…"
"Can't blame you, such feelings are never to be taken lightly and are never wrong..." Sebastian commented.
"She finds them to be slightly more superstitious than anything." Shinoku elaborated.
"Even so, they should never be taken lightly. You want us to wait with you?" Sebastian asked.
"I guess?" Shinoku answered. "I'll give her a few more minutes. Besides, she agreed to text me if she couldn't make it."
"Alright, but might want to get some food for you two while you wait." Sebastian suggested.
"Fine." Shinoku said as he went with the others to get his and Anya's lunch, returning to the cafeteria's entrance and waiting for her with the others.
A few more minutes passed and there was still no sign of the tigress. Getting more worried with each second Shinoku looked at his phone, only to see that there was no text from her either. Now he was starting to really be concerned, and it showed on his face.
"No word?" Hassan asked.
"None...She might have just fallen on her way here though, I'll go and check." Shinoku replied.
"You want us to come with?" Hassan offered.
"Nah, I should be fine, if it is just that she fell coming over here and can't get her phone or walk I can take care of it." Shinoku said as he sat the lunch he had gotten him and Anya down and started to make his way towards the girls dorm.
"Alright..." Sebastian commented
As he made his way to the girl's dorm Shinoku kept his eyes open for Anya, looking about for her. The closer he got to the girl's dorm with no sight of her the more fear started to creep in. She had promised him she'd meet him at lunch or at least text him to let him know she was alright and lunch time was quickly passing by. As he eventually got within close distance of the girl's dorm his worry only consumed him more.
When he did reach the girl's dorm he caught a whiff of her scent, it wasn't that old either and...heading towards the school's entrance? 'Why did you head to the school entrance?' Shinoku thought for a moment, only for his eyes to go wide in fear as he thought of the only reason she would do so. "Oh no..."
Shin ran towards the school entrance, eyes narrowed in anger as he followed her scent and hoping beyond hope that she was alright. 'If he lays a single finger on her...' he thought as he made his mad dash, ready to confront Otis and fight if he had to. As he made it to the entrance though he did not expect what he was greeted by. As soon as he crossed the threshold he was met with a pair of fists slamming into his gut, sending him to his knees.
"Ah there you are mutt, just like the boss said." Frank said with a sadistic grin.
"Otis doesn't appreciate you movin in on Anya." Damian chimed in, "So unfortunately we're going to have to make sure sure you're out of the picture." he added, though he sounded more excited at the prospect than anything.
Shinoku tried to get to his feet only to be met with a kick to the gut, sending him to the ground. He cursed himself for not being more careful, though in all the things he didn't expect, it was that Otis apparently ran a gang of dobermans. Again he tried to get up only to be beat down and tossed further away from the entrance, the two dobermans laughing as they delivered a bit more punishment to the arctic wolf, leaving him a bit bruised.
"Think that'll do it for the beating?" Frank asked.
"Yeah, besides, I don't want this taking too long and I want him to see what comes next." Damian grinned as he pulled out his gun, starting to aim it at Shinoku. "Nothing personal mutt, but boss said you gotta go."
