The screen on the bridge of the Egg Carrier II showed the Mega Death Egg on a scanner, so there was no need to dismantle invisibility to access it. Eggman typed on the virtual keyboard and watched as an entrance to the base opened, as the ship entered the Doctor pulled out two gray crystalline-toned bracelets.

"What is that?" asked Cubot pointing to them.

"This, my cubed shaped servant, is a personal project I have been working on in secret" Eggman replied looking at the bracelets "They are the Reverse Chaos bracalets, created using the energy of the Amethyst of Reverse Chaos as a reference and replicating it in these objects. Anyone who wears and activates them will be able to add the powers of the being they come into contact with!"

"If he had used parts of the original Amethyst to create it I would have noticed, I would have noticed it in my being, but they seem to be created with a synthetic material " Metal Amethyts thought as he looked at the bracelets Eggman was holding "I had no idea the Doctor had been working on something like this, I thought he was just a chatterbox. Those bracelets might work against me"

"Unfortunately they don't work, they don't go beyond a prototype and besides it would take a large amount of energy of your own to activate them" Explained the Doctor putting them in a pocket to Metal Amethyst's satisfaction.

The interior of the Mega Death Egg was very imposing, made entirely of metal it was complemented with hexagonal lights, weapons on the outer deck, reforced glass panels and ports where to leave the ships. Several Badniks patrolled the long corridors. Doctor Eggman, Orbot, Cubot and Metal Amethyst stepped off the Egg Carrier II, walked through the hangar and into the elevator, leaving the ship empty except for the two hedgehog stowaways aboard the ship.

"Finally, this trip was taking forever" Sonic said letting go of the ceiling vent and slowly descending.

"It shouldn't be long before Metal Amethyst carries out his treachery. He'll be biding his time" Said Shadow jumping down.

"Man, this place is crawling with Badniks! As expected" Sonic observed peeking out the window "How are we going to get through undetected?" Sonic heard no response "Shadow? Any ideas?... He's already gone..." The blue hedgehog looked out the window and saw Shadow outside the ship, on the roof of the hangar hitting a plate to release it and then climbing through the gap behind it "Phew... fare well Shadow..."

"Sonic!" Tails exclaimed over the intercom.

"Tails?" replied Sonic startled "What's wrong? Keep your voice down, I don't know if you remember but I'm here undercover."

"My bad, Sonic we've managed to get one of the base material transport ships in Red Mountain working" Explained Tails whispering "But we can't get too close to the Mega Death Egg without being suspicious. Can you access somewhere that will allow us entry?"

"I'll see what I can do, I'll keep you informed, you guys wait there" Sonic replied getting off the ship at full speed, Tails hung up the communication. Sonic exited the Egg Carrier II at top speed and stopped in his tracks behind two metal boxes to avoid being seen by two Egg Pawns, once the danger passed the hedgehog crossed the walkway connecting the platform where the ship was and the elevator "Damn it! You need a code to get in!" Sonic exclaimed as he saw the screen next to the elevator. Suddenly out of some hatches in the ceiling came several Buzz Bombers to join the patrol "I don't have time for this, I'll have to use the stairs" Sonic said jumping down and entering through the nearest door.

(Meanwhile in the command area of the Mega Death Egg)

"Ready!" said Doctor Eggman with satisfaction "The whole base is ready to attack the planet! The weapons, the thrusters, the Badniks... All ready!"

"Magnificent" Said Metal Amethyst looking out the window "You've prepared everything perfectly for me Doctor."

Metal Amethyst made a sinister turn and from two Chaos Spears destroyed Orbot and Cubot.

"What is this, Metal Sonic! I demand a...!" Started to say the Doctor before being cut off by Metal Amethyst.

"No, no, no... it's not Metal Sonic" The possessed robot rose a few inches off the ground "Even though I now have this body my name is Addendum, scum" He then used telekinesis to freeze Eggman and threw him against a wall.

"Ouch! Damn you!" Eggman went to press one of the buttons on the palm of his glove to call the badniks.

"It will be in vain, while you basked in your 'victory' I have been slowly absorbing some of your badniks" Addendum grabbed his Amethyst from his chest, the gem glowed in a purple and black glow and from the beams that came out black and purple Badniks emerged. They all pointed their weapons at Eggman and Addendum stole the Reverse Chaos bracalets from the Doctor "Needless to say, these only listen to me right?" Addendum said as he shrugged his shoulders and put the bracalets away "But... It's no fun to finish you off that fast Doctor..." Addendum's badniks lowered their weapons "You're going to the prison zone, I'll keep you alive until such time as I own this planet, you can admire what a real empire is, and then... well, you get the picture."

"You! You'll rue the day you tried to cheat Doctor Eggman! This offense will cost you dearly!" The Doctor shouted at him, ready to make good on his promise as he was followed by Addendum's Badniks into the prison area.

"Well, now that I've finally got every obstacle out of the way, all that's left is..." Addendum began to say, but was interrupted by the sound of a metal plate falling from the ceiling.

"...Are you sure you don't have any obstacles left? I think you've claimed victory too fast..." Shadow said

"Hmm... You..." Said Addendum looking at him sideways.

(A few seconds earlier, several floors below)

"Man, this place is huuuuge... This time Eggman's really going big" Sonic said looking around as he ran "Ain't it guys?" Five Egg Pawns turned at the sound of Sonic's voice only to be run over by the hedgehog as he did a Spin Dash "...Yeah, I think they agreed too" Sonic said as he looked at the remains of the Badniks cockily.

Sonic continued to run through the corridors of the Mega Death Egg, dodging Badniks and dodging obstacles without losing speed. Every corner of the base was full of traps, but nothing the blue hedgehog couldn't handle with his speed and reflexes. As he advanced, he saw a large room with several terminals and screens showing different sectors of the base. He slipped behind a column as a pair of Egg Pawns patrolled by.

"Well, this looks like a control room! If I can get access to one of those computers, I might be able to break through to Tails and the others" Sonic thought.

He bided his time and, in the blink of an eye, ran to one of the terminals. He came across a panel full of security codes and menus.

"Ugh... I'll never understand these Eggman systems!" he complained, typing followed by intuition. To his surprise, he managed to activate a map of the Mega Death Egg. On it, it showed several access routes and, more importantly, a cargo bay connecting to outer space "Bingo! This must be the perfect place for Tails to land" Sonic said opening the cargo bay hatch.

"Tails, this is Sonic. I've marked a safe landing zone Get closer before Eggman activates more of his toys!"

"Roger that, Sonic! We're heading there now. Keep moving, we don't want you to get caught." Tails replied instantly.

"Like that's a problem for me" Sonic replied with a grin before running out the next door.

(At the same time in the command area of the Mega Death Egg).

"Wow, you didn't come alone did you?" Said Addendum to Shadow pointing to the virtual map of the Mega Death Egg coming out of a panel "Someone has opened the cargo bay, meaning that someone is going to bring more people. I'm not going to let that happen."

"Not so fast!" Shadow said as he appeared in the air a few centimeters away from Addendum by using the Chaos Control ready to kick him, but the possessed robot used the same technique and appeared a few meters away from the hedgehog, both started fighting all over the room and although Shadow was holding his own he couldn't cope with Addendum's incredible speed (Sonic's speed and Metal Sonic's speed added together) which made him miss several hits while Addendum was counterattacking.

"I'm not done yet" Addendum turned invisible to try to catch Shadow off guard.

"Like I'm going to fall for the same trick twice..." muttered, the hedgehog threw Chaos Spears around him at the same time and one hit Addendum, Shadow lunged for him and hit him with as many punches as he could before the robot shot off into the wall

"Ngh... Not bad, you know what you're doing..." Said Addendum brushing the gravel off his back "My turn" Addendum used all his speed and punched Shadow several times in the air, the hedgehog blocked the last blow and managed to stay on his feet "Really? How long do you think you're going to hold out?"

"Long enough to make you pay!" Shadow exclaimed

"Alright then let me..." Addendum charged at Shadow to kick him, and in an instant he was no longer there, a blue blur had taken him out of the way shattering the window and taking them both into outer space

The Reverse Chaos bracalets came off of Addendum and Shadow grabbed them before shooting off into space through the gap in the glass as well.
