The planet Mefem was a planet uninhabited by any humanoid race. Much of this planet was almost entirely covered with forest and lakes, while no trace of ocean existed. Life was prosperous there and the absence of any humanoid race had allowed its ecosystem to live in peace.
However, 16 years ago, several Attack Balls had appeared in its sky and had ended up hitting the ground of the planet. Then, one by one, a total of twenty women came out of spacecrafts, while looking around, to be sure not to be attacked. Being among this small group, Daira quickly used one of her special abilities that allowed her to sense any form of energy around her.
Concentrating for a few seconds, she only detected ki from animals living in the jungle, while she was vastly stronger than the most powerful creatures on this planet.
"Perfect." She assured. "Here we will be safe for a little while."
Hearing this, several women heaved reassured sighs. Most of them were former slaves, while the rest, like Daria, were soldiers working for Frieza's army. However, today this was no longer the case.
Daira had been working for Frieza for years and carrying out his every order. However, she had always retained a hatred in her. The hatred she felt the day Frieza's army invaded her planet and slaughtered her people. Being one of the few survivors, Daira, who was the most powerful warrior of her planet, had received a her, her people numbered only a hundred survivors. If she wanted them to be spared, she had to work for Frieza. If she refused, the few survivors of her people would be eradicated with her.
Daira had no other choice. And three days later, she had participated in her first extermination mission. Daira hated everything she had done. Looting ... killing people ... allowing Frieza to control more territory ... She disgusted herself with all the atrocities she had committed. However, she had to allow her people to survive.
Sadly, it wasn't until four years later that she heard horrible news. Her alcoholic superior had approached her and, continuing to drink, he had begun to flirt with Daira, who had immediately pushed him away. Angry, his superior had told her the sad truth: as soon as Daira had joined Frieza's army, all the other survivors of her planet had been executed, since Frieza found them useless.
Hearing this, Daira suddenly killed her superior, out of rage. Then, realizing her mistake, which could be considered treason, requiring the death penalty, she had finally made a choice: to leave Frieza's army.
To do this, Daira had taken advantage of being on a planet overflowing with slaves to organize a rebellion against the dictators of this planet. And during this rebellion, Daira had taken the opportunity to flee, accompanied by some of her comrades, and some slaves.
Now wanted for treason, Daira had just landed on Mefem, a planet that had yet to experience Frieza's tyranny. But knowing perfectly well that this day would eventually arrive, she had decided to form an army, ready to welcome him and kill him. And for that, she had to first form a village with her new group. Then, using her knowledge of the territory of Frieza, she had left Mefem several times to return later with stolen equipment and new companions.
Daira hated men. Apart from those belonging to her people, she had never had the slightest positive memory of them. The people who slaughtered his people were all men. Frieza and his leading generals were also men. Her superiors or her male comrades had constantly belittled her and only saw her as a potential prostitute in their team, who would only serve to satisfy their sexual urges. And of the many slave traders she had encountered, the vast majority were men, while their slaves were largely women.
That was why Daira had decided to found an all-female army. And in just a few short years, a city had been created on this planet, which was now inhabited by warriors fueled by revenge. All wanted revenge for the atrocities caused by Frieza and his army. However, they had to wait. They were still too weak and too few in number to hope to be able to win. But Daira was sure of it. One day, Frieza will come to dominate this planet, but only to meet death there.
And this hope grew, the day Daira saw the baby held by one of her warriors, while the child had a tail.
Six months later
"Paprika, leave her alone."
Being inside a nursery, the child saiyan was in the company of other babies of her age. Seeming don't pay attention to the toys around her, she crawled over to another baby, who looked like a humanoid cat. Then, seizing the baby's tail, she began to chew on it, making her poor victim cry. Having to intervene, a woman grabbed Paprika to make her let go. Hands outstretched towards the second baby, the saiyan tried in vain to recover her new toy, while she gesticulated in the arms of the nurturer.
" Damn, I'm starting to think we need to separate you from the other kids." The adult remarked. "All you do is annoy other people."
Starting to growl, Paprika continued to try to free herself from her grasp, but her nurturer was more than strong enough to hold her back, even with one hand.
"She proves she's a saiyan." Another nurturer remarked, starting to cuddle Paprika's former victim to stop her crying. "I understand that Daira-san wants to keep her! But I'm afraid this child will spiral out of control when she grows up."
Hearing this the first nurturer lifted Paprika above her, so she could look at her.
"What do you think?" She asked, speaking to the baby. "Are you going to become an obedient child and then be a powerful warrior?"
Then, she let go of Paprika before using her telekinetic powers. Thus, Paprika felt herself floating in the air, while her feet gesticulated in the void. Immediately, seeming to enjoy this flight simulation, the child regained her smile, and began to gesticulate more, as if she wanted to move. Fulfilling her wish, the nurturer made her go higher, before bringing her back down.
Repeating this several times, the nurturer saw Paprika start laughing. Usually the other children hated being in the same situation as Paprika. And yet, the saiyan loved being able to float like this. Seeing her calm down and smile, Kamiko ends up displaying a sad smile, while thinking of her own daughter, who had been killed years ago, while mother and daughter had been turned into slaves.
Just like Paprika, her daughter, when she was a baby, loved when her mother used her telekinetic powers on her. And seeing Paprika behaving like her, Kamiko felt tears start to manifest. Seeing this, the second nurturer decided to grab Paprika, knowing that Kamiko's loss of concentration could cause the child to fall to the ground.
Then, while Paprika began to moan in displeasure as her flying session had just been interrupted, the second nurturer stared at Kamiko, before declaring.
"Your daughter...your people...my family...one day we will avenge them."
"I hope so." Kamiko said weakly.
Then, managing to calm her sobs, she grabbed herself of Paprika, before hugging her. Kamiko was the person Daira had designated to take care of Paprika. Initially, Kamiko had felt great fear towards the baby. She had met enough saiyans in her life to know how violent and barbaric they were. And yet, over the time she had spent with Paprika, Kamiko began to consider her like her own daughter. Admittedly, Paprika was much more out of control than the other babies in this place, while only Kamiko's powers seemed to calm her down, and yet Kamiko appreciated her fieryness and the fact that nothing seemed to frighten the child.
Kamiko wanted to see what this rebellious baby would look like when she grew up. She wanted to see how powerful she would be. And she wanted to put all her hopes in her and see her defeat Frieza.
"Kamiko...it's time."
Entering the nursery, Daria had come with some warriors, as she declared.
"The full moon is for tonight."
"Okay." Kamiko affirmed, knowing full well what she was referring to.
On the planet Mefem, the full moon occurred only once a year, while it was visible for an entire week. Wanting to take advantage of this, Daira had gone to a meadow far from the city. The flat place was surrounded by forests, and Daira hoped nothing bad could happen tonight. Being with her, a few warriors positioned themselves around the meadow, while Kamiko remained motionless.
Then, looking at the sky which was began to reveal itself, Paprika's nanny ended up putting the child on the ground. Not understanding what was happening, the saiyan child was attracted by the presence of a cricket, which jumped not far from her. Seeing it fleeing, Paprika crawled on the ground in order to follow it, while the adults let her wander as she pleased.
Finally, a few minutes later, Paprika stopped. Above her, the full moon was beginning to be visible. Sitting on the ground, the saiyan now had her face directed towards the huge star, which had a red color on this planet. Staring at it for long seconds, Paprika saw it become clearer and clearer. And finally, a flash went through her mind, as her eyes turned red.
Seeing her stay motionless, Daira knew perfectly well what was happening and that was why she had voluntarily left Paprika the right to keep her tail. She wanted to see her transform into an oozaru and whether or not she could be controllable in that form. Eventually she heard Paprika scream, before she began to writhe in pain.
Seeing her doing this, Kamiko wanted to rush towards her, but Daira stopped her. For the moment, everything was going normally. And quickly, she saw Paprika's clothes begin to tear, as her figure grew taller. Seeing this phenomenon for the first time, the warriors on the prairie were shocked to see Paprika transform into a giant ape.
However, seeing her about to finish her transformation, Daira noticed how small this gorilla was compared to the usual saiyan transformation. Paprika was barely half the size of a normal Oozaru.
"Oh? Maybe it's because she's still a baby." She remarked. "Perfect, this will help us a lot."
Then, watching the giant gorilla begin to roar, she began to examine her ki.
"In her infant form, Paprika has a level power of 19! And currently, her power is almost 200."
" So, her Oozaru form really allows her to increase her power tenfold. " Kamiko stated.
"For us, a power level of 200 is nothing." Affirmed Daira. "But within a few years, it is obvious that the power level of this enormous primate will easily exceed 1000! If we want to allow Paprika to control this form, without it becoming a plague on our city, it is now or never! If we wait, it will be too late, and her power will be enough for her to kill people."
Then, Daira flew to the oozaru.
"Paprika, can you hear me?"
As an answer, Paprika turned to her, and the next moment her fist shot towards Daira. Yet, as a powerful impact could be heard, Daira simply stopped the giant fist, positioning one hand in front of her. Seeming flabbergasted, the oozaru cried out in frustration, before attacking her again. Again Daira stopped his uppercut and repeated this many times.
For long minutes, everyone could feel the oozaru making the area tremble, while she tried by all means to kill Daira. Now having fun dodging her attacks, the leader of the group carefully examined Paprika's blows, which resembled those of a wild beast.
" She only fights with her instincts! It's very bad! I hope she can correct all her flaws when she grows up."
Eventually, the oozaru finally stopped and tried to catch her breath, proof that she was starting to wear herself out. Seeing this, Daira rushed towards her and and hit her with her knee. Not even having time to react, the oozaru fell to the ground. Then, Daira landed on her back and put her hands on her. Trying to get up, Paprika was surprised she couldn't, as Daira exerted enough strength in her hands to hold her down.
"Kamiko." She shouted.
Continuing to struggle, the oozaru finally felt a hand land on her forehead. Now on her muzzle, Kamiko gave her a soft smile, while caressing her forehead.
"Do you recognize me, Paprika?"
During a brief moment, the huge ape stopped moving. However, the next moment, she made a movement of her head powerful enough to eject Kamiko backwards. Managing to land on her hands, the nurturer did a backflip to land on her feet. Seeing Paprika continue to gesticulate, to escape Daira's grip, she sighed.
"I affirm that it is Paprika! She is as out of control as when she is a child."
"Rebel or not, we'll make her controllable." Daira affirmed. "Even if it should take us the week."
Seven years later
Ejected backwards, a child collapsed on the ground, while Paprika faced her. Having defeated her in just a few seconds, the saiyan grumbled before leaving the training ground.
Around her was a group of children between the ages of six and twelve, doing the same training as her, waiting to be called to participate in their own practice match.
Having seen her easily defeat her opponent, a woman strongly resembling a minotaur began to write a few words on a notebook, before affirming.
"Paprika, you're moving on to Group A! My congratulations."
The saiyan only groaned in displeasure. She had already been training with other children for two years. And if to fight was something that amused her, she had quickly found it boring while she had quickly become more powerful than most of the other children.
The person that Paprika defeated was slightly stronger than her when they were both five years old. And today, Paprika managed to defeat her without the slightest effort. Returning to sit on the ground, among the other children, she was quickly complimented by a humanoid cat-child.
"You were amazing, Paprika-san."
For only answer, Paprika seized the tail of the child before starting to chew it. Screaming, Saka grabbed her tail and immediately pulled it out of Paprika's mouth.
"Stop to chew my tail."
"It's the only thing that relaxes me." Paprika affirmed, flashing her a somewhat mischievous smile.
To tell the truth, Paprika had indeed always got into the habit of tormenting Saka by grabbing her tail and chewing it. She didn't know why, but she loved doing it.
"You're so mean." Saka asserted, stroking her poor tail.
Quickly losing interest in her, Paprika didn't even look at the next fight, and instead stared at another training ground, where two adults were fighting. Each of the warriors fighting there was far more powerful than Paprika's opponents. And it was with them that the saiyan now wanted to train.
"It's not fair." She growled. "I want to fight against real opponents."
"You just reached Group A." Saka remarked. "You can be proud of yourself! Only the best of us can achieve it! This means that in a few years, you will be sure to be among the first among us to join adult training. "
"I don't want to wait." Paprika retorted. "I want to train with the adults now."
" Next fight. " Announced the woman-minotaur. "Asu vs Saka!"
Immediately, the cat-child stood up, before being imitated by a girl who looked like a cyborg. Joining the training ground, they greeted each other, before starting to fight.
And quickly, Asu found herself in difficulty, faced with the speed of Saka. During years, the poor cat-child had long been Paprika's sparring partner. And to be able to follow the rhythm imposed by the saiyan, Saka had been forced to improve faster than the others.
Even though Paprika regularly had fun tormenting her or chewing on her tail, Saka wanted to get stronger so that Paprika wouldn't get tired of her and decide to take an interest in someone stronger than her. Even knowing she was a saiyan, Saka idolized Paprika and saw her as a role model. She had become her number one fan and wanted to stay that way.
Today, Paprika ( power = 118) was still stronger than Saka ( power = 95). Nevertheless, her intensive training allowed her to be stronger than most other children of her age.
Avoiding Asu's fist, Saka then lifted her leg, before kicking her in the chin. Immediately, the child-cyborg froze, before collapsing to the ground.
"Congratulation, Saka." Affirmed the trainer.
Then, starting to think for a few moments, she declared.
"You join group A."
Hearing this, Saka flashed a smile filled with joy and pride. Then she hurried back to Paprika.
"I'm also in Group A like you."
"Congratulations." Paprika said simply, almost sighing.
Seeing her barely interested in that, Saka pouted, before affirming.
"You will see ... one day, I will become stronger than you."
"I believe you." Paprika lied, with a mischievous smile. "Until then, your tail will remain my favorite toy."
Suddenly, looking back at the adults, she saw a warrior fighting against a nine-year-old girl. The warrior was fighting with a combat spear, while the child was fighting with a wooden sword. Trying to attack by favoring her speed, the little girl was easily pushed back by the adult, who had no trouble avoiding her strikes.
"What...? Why is she allowed to fight adults?" Paprika asked.
"Huh?" Saka wondered. "It's normal! This girl is Yada! She's the most powerful child among us! It's Daira-san who gave her the right to participate in training with the adults! She is her adoptive daughter."
Hearing this, Paprika began to growl.
Having completed her training, Yada was moaning in pain, as bruises covered her arms. Her opponent had shown no mercy during their training and had hitted her numerous times. Thus, Yada saw the difference between the workouts reserved for children and those reserved for adults.
Nevertheless, since Daira had given her her approval, Yada refused to disappoint her by telling her that she still felt too weak. After all, if Daira had given him this special permission, it wasn't because she was simply his adopted daughter. Yada was such a powerful child that many people considered her to be the child with the most incredible combat potential. In a few years, his power could perhaps surpass that of Daira.
" I will kill Frieza. " Said the girl. '' I would do anything to make mom proud of me. ''
" Hey. "
Turning around, Yada saw Paprika facing her, while Saka was hidden behind a tree.
"Saiyan?" Yada wondered, knowing who she was.
"I hear you're allowed to train with the adults." Paprika affirmed. " It's perfect. "
Getting into a fighting stance, she declared.
"If I can beat you, I'm sure I'll get the right to train with the adults."
Looking at her with surprise at first, Yada finally heaved a sigh, before imitating her.
"Very well! If you want me to..."
Not even having time to finish speaking, Yada saw Paprika's foot appear in front of her. Bending down, she let the saiyan's leg pass above her. Then she raised her fist and punched Paprika's chin.
Thrown back, the saiyan felt her feet leave the ground. Still, remaining conscious, she felt her back hit the ground and immediately rushed to roll backwards, before getting back to her feet.
It was only then that she felt blood running down her lips, as she was bleeding from her nose. However, she surprised Yada, by starting to smile.
"Good! You are really strong ! I'll enjoy fighting you."
Meanwhile, Saka remained hidden behind the tree trunk and winced repeatedly, when she saw Paprika being hit or thrown to the ground.
"PAPRIKA! Can you tell me what happened?"
Looking away from Kamiko's furious face, Paprika stammered.
"I fought...and I lost."
Having several bandages on her face and a cockade around her left eye, the saiyan seemed to be in poor condition. However, it was not the fact of having fought that bothered her. From the tone of her voice, Kamiko knew that the only thing that made her ashamed was that she had lost.
"Damn it..." Kamiko sighed. "I really don't know what I'm going to do with you."
For her part, Yada remained silent, while she was not far from the pair. Looking angrily at Paprika, she had her hand resting on her cheek, while a deep scratch mark was visible.
Paprika had managed to hit her during their confrontation and her fingernails had managed to hurt her. Feeling as humiliated as Paprika, Yada was angry that she let a other child hit her. Normally, she considered herself stronger than any child her age. It was therefore unthinkable that a girl two years younger than she could touch her.
Suddenly, a cotton swab touched her cheek and made her wince, while Daira began to disinfect her wound.
"Don't move." She ordered her.
"Daira, I'm sorry." Kamiko apologized. "Paprika is very feisty."
"There is no harm." Daira assured. "I am even happy to know that another child other than Yada has such great fighting power! However, can I know the reason for this fight?"
"She can train with the adults, and I can't." Paprika stated, pouting.
Seeming to understand what she meant, Daira said.
"Paprika...you're still far too immature to fight with adults."
"But I'm strong." Paprika affirmed. "I don't have fun fighting others at all anymore! And Mita-sensei and the others teachers still refuse to teach me real fighting techniques! I want to become more powerful."
"Paprika, you're still too young." Kamiko retorted.
"I'm still too young for the fun stuff." Paprika grumbled.
Seeing the child pouting again, Diara couldn't help but smile a little, as she genuinely appreciated Paprika's ambition.
"Very well! In that case, I will give you a chance."
Positioning Yada in front of her, Diara asserted.
"Every day, after your training, a match will be organized between Yada and you ! If you win against her, you can take her place during the next training! However, as long as you cannot defeat her, you'll continue your training with the other kids! Is that okay?"
"Is that true?" Paprika asked.
"Tssss! Don't dream." Yada retorted.
Showing a haughty look at Paprika, she declared.
"Given your performance today, it is certainly not tomorrow that you will be able to defeat me. "
" Grrrrr ! "
Immediately, the two girls stared at each other angrily, while Kamiko wanted to calm them down. For her part, Daira seemed pleased to see the birth of this rivalry, while she was certain that it will be very beneficial for the survival of her people.
"Let's see how powerful these two can become."
