Chapter 9

The olympians all dispersed from the room. Every single one was furious. The whole situation made them want to forgo all laws to make sure that the monster who took the hero they had all grown so fond of suffered. Poseidon went back to his kingdom, the ocean swirling around him viciously. He stormed into the throne room being greeted by his wife and son both waiting for him.

"Husband," called his wife walking towards him, her hands holding his shoulders trying to get her husband to calm down before the waves could cause any damage to the mortal world. Triton looked at his father from across the room, worry etched across his face. It was obvious whatever had happened in the council meeting had caused his father to be so angry that he completely ignored the fact that his powers could very well cause massive damage to the mortal world. It had to involve his little sister.

Many believed that he hated his little moral sister but he didn't. At first he wasn't overly fond of the girl but he grew to love her and the fact the council meeting was about percy disappearance had him more concerned. Triton and Amphitrite listened in horror as Poseidon recounted the contents of the letter and the picture that came with it.

"He's treating her like an object," exclaimed his mother, her normal kind but stern voice laced with a deep anger that the prince had not heard for many years, "In fact he's making her completely compliant to him."

"Percy is stubborn, way too stubborn," began Triton before his mother had cut in.

"Much like two other people i know," Normally that comment would have both the Sea god and his son denying that they were stubborn at all proving her point further but neither dared to do so. They were stubborn and they knew that Percy was a very stubborn girl; she had proved it several times. That's what made them worry about how the letter was written more, she would never write something like that and if she was forced to then she must have been really afraid. They knew he had hurt her; the blood on the letter was proof enough. Everyone of them hoped that her stubbornness would not only keep her alive and also not get her in any more danger.

Straight after the meeting Aphrodite began to follow the direction Ares was going when her husband Hephestas stopped her. "What's been going on with you?" he asked his voice gentle, "other than the fact that Percy Jackson is missing."

"It's not me it's him," wined Aphrodite as she pointed in the direction her friend went.

"Ares,"

"Yes! I'm worried for Percy, don't get me wrong, I want to wring this guy's neck but something is up with him. I mean think about it he was jealous when he heard that she had dinner with this man," she snarled the world man as if the very idea was poison, " you can't tell me you didn't see it too,"

"I did see it. Which is why I asked i thought you knew something or were up to your usual shenanigans."

Aphrodite gasped dramatically and placed her hand over her heart, "I am insulted husband, how dare you accuse me of such a thing."

At his wife's dramatics he couldn't help but laugh which forced a small giggle from the love goddess as well. "Come then," hephaestus held his arm out for her to take and she gladly did so, "lets go figure it out then,"

The pair walked to Ares palace in complete silence. They looked around them clearly and the news of what they had received in the council meeting had spread already as every immortal they encountered seemed to have a saddened look plastered across their faces.

The love goddess reached her hand towards the door and gave it a few sharp knocks before she heard a voice call for them to come in. Upon entering she was surprised to find Ares at his desk not writing anything or reading anything but just staring at the wood of the furniture as if the wood would suddenly come to life.

"What's going on with you?" asked Hepaestus bluntly, getting straight to the point.

Ares groaned, "i don't know i keep getting chest pains,"

"Not what I was referring to. You got remarkably jealous that Jackson was having dinner with this guy and that she was wearing a dress he gave her in that photo and to that very dinner."

Ares tensed he hadn't expected anyone to take any notice of his jealousy in fact he hadn't expected to feel jealous in the first place. Jackson was just another demigod, granted she did save Olympus countless times, but she wasn't anything to him so why is he feeling that way.

"You were jealous," grinned Aphrodite, clearly pleased with this revelation.

"I mean who could blame you? I wouldn't be surprised if Poseidon has had hundreds of marriage proposals by now."

The very idea of Poseidon receiving proposals for Percy's hand in marriage made Ares angry. GOD what was wrong with him why did he care?
