Captain Picard is determined to expose an opportunist posing as a demoness who's come to claim Ventax II. He's getting nowhere fast, but can't bring himself to admit she's real. He engages in increasingly complex strategies to unmask her.

This screenplay is for an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, set near the end of Season 7. It imagines a first contact encounter between Picard's Enterprise and a fully Anarcho-Capitalist planet with no government nor belief in authority.
