Chapter 24
Arena Rescue
In a tunnel of the coliseum, Anakin and Padme were standing on a cart awaiting their execution to begin in the arena. While the Geonosians were preparing to carry the accused to their fate, Anakin turned to Padme to reassure her that everything will be alright. "Don't be afraid" said Anakin.
"I'm not afraid to die. I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life" said Padme.
"What are you talking about" asked Anakin?
"I love you" said Padme.
"You love me? I thought we decided not to fall in love...That we would be forced to live a lie...and that it would destroy our lives" said Anakin.
"I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway. I truly...deeply love you...and before we die I want you to know" said Padme.
Anakin and Padme lean in for another passionate kiss just like the one they shared on Naboo. As the Orray pulls the cart forward the two lovers were still locked in what they thought was their last kiss. When the cart made its way out into the arena Anakin and Padme pulled away as a roar of the crowd was waiting for their execution to begin. The coliseum was packed with Geonosians screaming and talking. The cart trundles to the center of the coliseum in front of four stone pillars, where Obi-Wan is chained to one of them, and stops to let Anakin and Padme out to chain them alongside of Obi-Wan.
"I was beginning to wonder if you had gotten my message" said Obi-Wan.
"I retransmitted it as you requested, Master. Then we decided to come and rescue you" said Anakin.
"Good job" said Obi-Wan.
As Anakin and Padme's arms are pulled high above their heads, and the cart drives away, the crowd goe wild as Archduke Poggle the Lesser, Count Dooku, and Nute Gunray appeared in the archducal box to oversee the proceedings.
"Settle down, Settle down" said Poggle calming the crowd.
As the crowd quiets Poggle rises again and says "Let the executions begin!"
The crowd goes into an uproar. From another gate a bull like creature called a reek steps out and bellows as the picadors riding orrays heard the creature toward his victims. From another gate a giant dino crustacean called an Acklay comes out and snaps at one of the picadors. From the last gate a lionesque creature called a Nexuu comes out, one of the Picadors shock the Nexuu and the Nexuu pounces on the picador and kills him. Two other picadors flew down in the first ones stead.
"I've got a bad feeling about this" said Anakin
The creatures kept getting closer and closer roaring and screeching as they set their sights on the three captives. Padme uses a pin from her clothes and starts to pick her shackles free.
"Just relax concentrate" said Obi-Wan
"What about Padme" asked Anakin?
"She seems to be on top of things" said Obi-Wan as they both looked and saw Padme climbing up her pillar.
The Acklay strikes Obi-Wan, but he dodges the claws, thr second strike cuts Obi-Wans chain on his shackles free until Obi-Wan was bobbing and weaving claw strikes every which way.
The Reek, with help from the picadors, had changed at Anakin but he force jumped on top of the Reek, broke his chain free, and wrapped it around the Reek's center horn as if it were reigns.
The Nexuu was climbing up the pillar digging its claws deep into the stone post until it reached the top where Padme was standing. Using her chain as a whip she smacked the Nexuu in the face until it reached up again and clawed Padme's back. Padme screamed out in pain from the sharp cat-like claws. In the archducal box Nute Gunray turned his head and laughed at the senators pain.
Obi-Wan was barrel rolling on the ground avoiding the claws of the acklay, Anakin was riding on the reek until he fell off and was being dragged on the ground, and Padme jumped off the top of her pillar using her chain a as a vine and swing kicks the nexuu off her pillar and on the ground.
"She can't do that... shoot her or something" said Gunray!
Padme climbed back to the top of the pillar while the nexuu was regaining consciousness and began circling the pillar. The acklay charged at a pillar,until it fell over and was destroyed, in an attempt to kill Obi-Wan. The reek had finally stopped giving Anakin the opportunity to stand up, while Obi-Wan faced off against a Picador, grabbed his electro pike and threw him off the orray. Anakin slowly approached the reek, Padme was freeing herself from her other shackle, and Obi-Wan had hit the picador in the head, and the acklay killed the picador.
Anakin finally got close enough to the reek to jump on again but pulled the chain into its mouth and tries to ride it again. Obi-Wan was fighting off the acklay with the electro pike delivering precise strikes while avoiding the acklay's claws. Padme was finally freed from her shackles as she picked her cuff free. The Nexuu was about to strike again until Anakin came on the reek, charged at the nexuu, and killed it and made a complete stop in front of Padme's pillar.
"Jump" said Anakin.
Padme Jumped off the pillar onto the reek behind Anakin as she kissed his cheek. Anakin jerked the reigns and the reek took off. Obi-Wan threw the electro pike at the Acklay and made a direct hit in its left shoulder. The Acklay screeched out in pain, but was able to pull the pike out of its shoulder, and snap it like a twig in its razor sharp teeth. Obi-Wan turned and ran away from the creature toward the reek, where Anakin and Padme were, he hopped on the back behind Padme.
"This isn't how it's supposed to be! Jango, finish her off" said Nute Gunray angrily!
"Patience, Viceroy, patience she will die" said Coun Dooku reassuredly.
From out of the main gate of the coliseum seven Droidekas rolled out and surrounded the three captives with intent to destroy them.
In a tunnel leading to the archducal box Jedi Master Mace Windu was making his way to Count Dooku. Igniting his purple lightsaber and holding it to Jango Fett's neck.
"Master Windu, how pleasant of you to join us" said Count Dooku.
"This party's over" said Master Windu.
Suddenly hunderds of Jedi ignited their lightsabers around the coliseum causing the geonosian spectators to fly out of the coliseum.
"Brave, but foolish, my old Jedi friend. You're impossibly outnumbered" said Count Dooku.
"I don't think so" said Master Windu
"We'll see" said Count Dooku.
Suddenly four super battle droids, and three Decepticon drones started firing wrist blasters and bullets at Master Windu. Master Windu turned his lightsaber towards his attackers and deflected their attacks. Jango Fett activated his flame thrower and aimed toward Master Windu. Master Windu force jumped back onto the ground as soon as Jango fired it. Shedding his outer robe as it caught fire, Master Windu continued to deflect the blasts being fired at him.
From the northern gate an army of droids charged in after the Jedi, but before they could begin their assault, the Autobots entered from the southern gate, still in mtheir alt forms, to defend their new Jedi friends. The Autobots transformed into their robot forms and created a defensive barrier to help the Jedi defeat the oncoming assault. The Decepticons also joined the droids preparing to destroy both adversaries.
"Ultra Magnus! A cursory evaluation of Decepticon capability suggests a distinct tactical deficiency" said Perceptor.
"In other words Perceptor" said Ultra Magnus.
"We're outnumbered" said Springer as he shot a few drones and small group of battle droids.
"Springer, you and Arcee cover the left flank. Hot Rod cover the right flank with Kup. Blurr you and Powerglide give us some support in the stands. Everyone else cover the center with me and the Jedi" said Magnus.
The Autobots and the Jedi charged in cutting through droids and blasting Decepticon drones by the dozen. Two Jedi tossed two lightsabers to Obi-Wan and Anakin still riding the reek. They both ignited the lightsabers Anakin cut through Obi-Wans shackles freeing him. In the stands two Jedi were fighting a off few droids while Blurr and Powerglide were shooting both Decepticons and battle droids.
"Decepticonsherebattledroidstheregottakeepfiringdon'tletup"said Blurr as he was blasting left and right at rapid speed.
At another gate geonosian drones were preparing to attack until the gate itself had been knocked down on top of the drones by non other than the Dinobots, with Grimlock leading the charge. Slag in his triceratops form looked down at one of the pinned down geonosians and said "Excuse me".
More droids were marching into the arena one of which had C-3PO's body.
"My legs aren't moving, I must need maintenance" said the droid.
The Geonosians fired a giant version of their sonic blasters killing two Jedi, and causing the reek to buck knocking off the three captives. Padme grabbed a discarded droid blaster and stated shooting two geonosians on a cart being pulled by an orray. She managed to kill one of them, but the other one got away, as Padme was running along side of the orray trying to ride it. The cart came towards Anakin, who was cutting up a droid. Bumblebee was blasting a few Decepticon drones when he noticed Padme riding the orray and came close to her providing covering fire. Anakin, and Padme were cutting down both droids, and Decepticon drones with each blast and lightsaber swing. More Jedi were battling droids and geonosians, at the same time, the Autobots were scraping drones all over the arena. Boba Fett found a hidden place safe from the battle observing everything.
From the rear even more droids marching in formation moved in, were attempting to overwhelm the Jedi, but this one had C-3PO's head.
"What's all this noise? Oh, a battle, there's been some terrible mistake I'm programmed for etiquette not destruction" exclaimed Threepio!
Masters Obi-Wan and Windu were battling droids literally back to back. The droid head with Threepios body was firing its blaster at any target it could find when he came across a Jedi who deflected the blasts and blew the head off of Threepios body.
In the arcducal box Coleman Trebor, a vurk Jedi, ignited his lightsaber prepared to fight Count Dooku, but was intervened by Jango Fett, who pulled out his pistol and started shooting. In less than three shots Master Trebor was killed, and fell out of the arcducal box like a stone cast in the river.
The Reek charged at masters Kenobi and Windu at full force. Obi-Wan jumped out of the way, but Master Windu turned and stood his ground. Jango Fett saw this opportunity to kill another Jedi and jettisoned down in the arena with his jet pack. The reek was about to do some serious damage until master Windu swung his lightsaber, and cut off one of the reeks horns as it butted Master Windu he dropped his lightsaber. Jango attempted to grab it, but Master Windu used the force to pull his lightsaber to him faster than he could jump. The reek charged again towards Jango, nearly trampling him and damaging his jet pack. The reek turned and charged again, but Jango pulled out his blaster pistol and killed the reek. Jango turned and fired at Master Windu, who deflected his blasts until he cut off Jango's hand and finally decapitated him. Count Dooku and Boba witnessed the event and were horrified. The battle raged on as the Jedi and the Autobots were fighting valiantly trying to keep their enemies at bay.
"Die Jedi dogs. Oh! What did I say" asked Threepio firing a blaster?
Some of the stray blasts were aimed at the viceroy and his aide.
The Jedi were getting in some good hits especially Jedi council member Master Kit Fisto.
"Oh dear, I'm terribly sorry about all this" said Threepio apologetically.
Master Fisto force pushes Threepio as he shoots a super battle droid on top of him, and a Decepticon drone fell on both of them. Master Fisto smiled as he continued on with the battle. "E-Exuse me. I'm trapped, I can't get up" said Threepio.
A droideka shot and killed the orray with Anakin and Padme riding it. Anakin stood up deflecting the blasts from the droids, while Padme found cover in the turned over cart shooting at the droids and the drones. Perceptor and Bumblebee showed up and provided additional covering fire.
"Senator Amidala, I presume" said Perceptor as he introduced himself.
"You call this a diplomatic solution" asked Anakin?
"No, I call it aggressive negotiations" said Padme.
They both smiled and continued on as Bumblebee and Perceptor were firing.
Obi-Wan was facing off against two droids when suddenly they were backing off when the acklay began to attack Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan was prepared to attack until a robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex came and started to fight the acklay. The acklay tried to pierce Grimlocks metallic skin to no avail, Grimlock used his fire breath to burn the acklay. The acklay screeched in pain as it charged to headbutt Grimlock, finally Grimlock sunk his teeth into the acklay's neck and killed it. "Me Grimlock Me friend" said Grimlock to Obi-Wan.
R2-D2 and Wheelie rolled up to Threepio buried under two bodies.
"Artoo, Wheelie! What are you doing here" asked Threepio?
Artoo Beepec and Whistled.
"Countin' bodies as the fall on the ground what the heck do you think we're doing here" said Wheelie.
Artoo shoots a projectile from behind him and attached it to Threepios head.
"What are you doing? Oh stop your going to strain something! My head" said Threepio!
Artoo manged to pull Threepios head from the battle droids body and drags it back to his original body.
"Now where are you taking me? Oh this is such a drag" said Threepio.
The droids and drones began to push the Jedi and the Autobots back. While Artoo and Wheelie were attempting to fix Threepio.
"Oh I'm quite beside myself" said Threepio as Artoo drags his head literally beside his headless body.
"These battle droids are almost as bad as the Decepticons. The more you knock down the more follow after them" said Hot Rod.
"Reminds me of the battle on on Kyber 5" said Kup.
"Artoo, please be careful! You're singeing my circuits" said Threepio.
"You sure you know what you're doin'" asked Wheelie?
Artoo Beeped and Whirred
"Yes, but is my head on straight"asked Threepio?
Fifteen Jedi, Padme, and the Autobots were surrounded by an army of Decepticons and battle droids. Suddenly Count Dooku signaled and Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream, Blitzwing, Astrotrain, and Barricade had appeared and surrounded the Autobots and surviving Jedi. The battle droids had ceased firing and awaited orders. Obi-Wan checked on one of his fellow Jedi but had joined the group as Count Dooku began to speak.
"Master Windu, you have fought gallantly, worthy of recognition inthe archives of the Jedi order. Now it is finished. Surrender, and your lives will be spared"said Dooku.
"We will not be hostages to be bartered Dooku" said Master Windu.
"Then I'm sorry old friend" said Dooku.
"Ready" said Shockwave as the droids and drones preped their weapons to fire.
"Look" said Padme as she directed everyone's attention to the sky.
The ark and a few shuttles had descended to the surface of the planet along with six republic gunships. Optimus Prime lead the Autobot drones to counter the Decepticons, while Master Yoda was riding in one of the gunships with a battalion of clones. Suddenly Ironhide, Wheeljack, Jazz, Suntstreak, Prowl, and Hound had joined the fight to defend the Jedi.
"Autobots! Protect the Jedi" said Optimus as he fires his blaster at the Decepticons and battle droids.
"Around the survivors, a perimeter create" said Master Yoda to the clones.
The clones fired from their gunships taking down as many doids as they could. When the gunshhips were positioned close enough some of the Jedi got on board while the Autobots transformed into their alt modes allowed the Jedi to come inside and be their passengers. The clones were blasting droids left and right, a few clones lost their lives, but they knew the risk when they came to Geonosis. The same would be said of the Autobots as the helped push the Decepticons out of the arena. Dooku had left the arena as well heading for the separatist council.
With the Jedi and Autobots all gathered the gunships flew out of the arena, and headed toward the battlefield. The Autobots with their passengers drove or flew to the battlefield as well hoping to end this conflict before it spreads like wildfire.
Artoo, Threepio, and Wheelie were still around the arena now that Threepio was repaired, he raised up and looked at his surroundings.
"Oh, I've had the most peculiar dream" said Threepio.
Boba Fett squats down with the helmet of his fallen father, pulls it towards his head, and mourns his father knowing that he is alone in the galaxy.
Well here's another Chapter for you. Sorry it took so long I had to get it just right before I could post it. Next up is you guessed it " The Battle of Geonosis." Once again the Autobots dialogue and the fight between the acklay and Grimlock is mine the rest belong to George Lucas Disney etc. Hope you guys enjoy it see you next time.
