Chapter 31: Daddy Garfie

It bas been about two months since Holly and Garth had their talk about having their own family and even though they were married. The both of them have a wonderful life together. Garth always want to have kids as his own flock. Holly is thinking it was time to make the big move in their relationship so one day she came to her mother to talk to her.

Katie, Holly's mother was busy in a meeting with the Scarlet macaws adults. Holly decides to wait after the meeting was over. After the meeting was over, Holly wants to talk to her mother.

"Mom, I need to talk to you now. It is very important." Holly said.

"Okay my daughter." Katie answered and turned to the Scarlet macaws. "Enjoy the rest of your day my gentlebirds."

"You too Katie." Maria said.

Holly and Katie talked outside the hollow on a branch. Holly takes a deep breath and Katie is waiting for her daughter to speak.

"What is it my daughter?" Katie asked.

"Mom, do you mind if I don't go on night patrol this night. I have something important to do with Garth because I love him." Holly said.

It took a minute for Katie to realize what Holly meant. She wasn't mad, she was happy for her daughter. When Holly and Garth's relationship was revealed. Katie was upset that her daughter was dating a blue macaw but when the older female get to know Garth. She accepted Garth as Holly's boyfriend just like Maria didn't accept her son Alex relationship with Lily and her daughter Liz relationship with Roberto but Maria understands why her son and daughter choose their true loves as their mates.

"Of course my daughter." Holly smiled. "After you and Garth got married, you two seem so happy."

"Thanks mom you are the best." Holly smiled.

"Anything for my daughter." Katie said.

Holly flew back to the hollow she shared with Garth and get ready for their special night. At this time, night was beginning to fall, she is waiting for Garth to return from night patrol with Roberto and his team. The night patrol just ended for him, Roberto, and their team.

Garth went in the hollow and he was yawning, walking towards his nest. He see his loved one in the nest.

"Hey Garfie." Holly said softly as garth walked into the room.

"Holly?" Garth replied, surprise. "What are you doing here so early?"

Holly got up and kiss Garth on the beak. Garth kiss her back. They held to each other wings and kiss each other. After the kiss, Holly explained to Garth on why she was here so early, Holly told Garth he wants to have a baby. Garth's beak went wider and wider.

"Are you sure about this?" Garth asked. "I don't want to force you."

"Yes, I'm sure and I am ready." Holly said and wrapping her wings around Garth's neck. Garth smiled at this moment.

"Alright I am up for it." Garth smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too." Holly replied.

A very wonderful night for the two is so romantic. The next morning the two woke up from the night, they were smiling at each other, they hugged each other, and those two are enjoying each other companies. After spending time together they went to do a checkup on Holly. They flew over to the healers were, Sorrel check on Holly and after the test, it was confirmed. Holly was pregnant with an egg, but just one. Garth was happy enough and besides if he and Holly can have more kids later if they wanted too in the future. Garth was just happy that he would finally become a father.

After the checkup, the two delivered the news to everyone they knew. Roberto, Liz, and Rosalia were happy especially Alex and Lily. Alex is happy that he would be a real uncle. Since Garth is going to be a father, he would be a good one having had the experience for Belle, Crystal, Junior, and Max. Blu and Jewel were happy. Blu is happy for Garth that he will have a kid with Holly. Banjo and Grace are so happy for their friend because Banjo knew that Garth wanted a girl but Garth is now sealed with Holly. Katie and Winston was happy because they had one more grandchick.

After the whole day of seeing their friends and family, the two flew back to the hollow to get some rest.

"Garth this is it, we are finally going to be a family." Holly said in excitement.

"Yes I am so excited to have a family with you. I been waiting for this for so long." Garth said.

"Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?" Holly asked her husband to what their chick's gender will be.

"I hope it will be a girl, I had a vision of me holding a little girl to hold my wings." Garth told his wife.

"Well okay, let's get a bite to eat." Holly said.

"Of course honey." Garth said.

They ate a meal together of peaches together and then slept. Garth is dreaming of what the future for him and his wife to be parents to their little chick.

The weeks passed of Holly's pregnancy, she had to stayed in the nest. She is telling Garth to get food that she was craving for. Like Roberto taking care of Liz when she was pregnant with Rosalia and the same goes with Alex when Lily was pregnant with Cadence and Eddie. Garth was happy to do it for Holly. Garth took days off from patrol nights since he is taking care of Holly. He asked Blu, Jewel, Banjo, Grace, Alex, and Lily to come to his hollow to help him.

Finally it was the day when the egg was due to come out and Garth was taking a nap currently because he worked all night to take care of his mate Holly. Garth was snoring until he heard Holly's cry of extreme pain.

"Garth!" Holly shouted, Garth woke up from his nap. "It's time!"

"Coming!" Garth shouted and he ran into the room where the nest was where Holly was in so much pain. "Alright just like we practiced, ready?"

"Yeah I am ready." Holly panted out as she breathed in and out slowly.

"Okay breath, and push, breath, and push." Garth encouraged Holly, he hold to Holly's wing for support.

Holly sneezed Garth's wing too tightly until Garth felt his wing is covered in sneeze allergies but he understands the pain Holly is going through.

Soon enough Holly finally got the egg out of her and it came up with a pop as it fell on the nest. Both of them have smiles on their faces but Holly is proud to become a mother when the hatchling comes out.

"Good job honey, you deserve to rest. I will watch our chick now." Garth said, Holly was very grateful.

"Thank you Garfie." Holly said with her eyes closed.

"Sweet dreams, my love." Garth said as he kissed her forehead.

"Now we just have to wait for you to hatch for our family to be born. We will love you." Garth chuckled.

More passed as Holly and Garth waited for the egg to hatch and one day the egg will start moving. Holly and Garth both hears the sound of cracking and knows that the chick was strong enough to break out of its prison and come to the real world. A crack appeared and Holly and Garth smiled. The crack grew bigger and bigger, the pieces of shell is starting breaking out and the couple see red and blue feathers from inside.

By the way, the shell came off there appeared a red feathered head, the chick's head feathers like her mother's as well as having beautiful blue eyes, with a black beak, chick looked in wonder as its parents as Holly reached out her wings and helped the chick get out of the egg.

"Hey Garth do you mind getting our family and friends?" Holly asked.

"Of course my dear. I will be right back." Garth said and got everyone to come, all of them are excited.

When everyone came with Garth, back to the hollow holly smiles at the little chick sleeping. She picked her up, hugged her, and she sleep peacefully in her mother's wing. Sorrel came in and congratulate the couple and confirmed the chick was a girl.

"Did you two decide on a name?" Lily asked.

"Well." Garth began thinking. "Holly what should we name our new daughter?"

"I would like to call her Rosie." Holly said.

"I think that is a wonderful name." Garth said and agreed with Holly.

The chick woke up with a smile and she held out her tiny wings towards her daddy.

"I think someone wants to meet her daddy." Alex pointed out.

"Do you want to hold our baby Garth?" Holly asked her.

"Of course." Garth said. Holly handed Rosie to Garth.

Rosie was in her father's wings all comfortable. Garth is crying because he is happy he have a daughter. "She is so beautiful." Garth said as he cried in tears.

"Are you crying Garfie?" Grace asked as she saw Garth's face.

"What no." Garth said quickly as he tried to wipe his eyes but carefully not to drop his daughter.

"Garth, it's okay to cry. I cried when Bia, Carla, and Tiago were in my wings for the first time." Blu chuckled.

"Yeah I cried too when Belle, Crystal, Junior, and Max were in my wings as well. I was happy to become a father." Banjo said.

"Yeah I caught Blu right away." Jewel giggled while Blu blushed deep red of the memory.

"I saw Banjo crying as well as he was looking at the newborn children." Grace giggled while Banjo smiled and blushed deep red too.

"Hey Garth, can I hold my cousin now?" Alex asked politely.

"Sure Alex, here you go." Garth replied and happily give Alex his new cousin.

"Hi there, I'm your Uncle Alex." Alex smiled as Rosie giggled cutely, as Lisa came next to Alex to see her cousin as well.

"And I am your Aunt Lisa." Lisa introduced herself.

When everyone got a chance to hold the little chick and introduce themselves. Everyone decided to leave to give the family some alone time and when Holly, Garth, and now Rosie were alone, it was getting close to nighttime. The couple decided it was time to sleep, Rosie was yawing which told the couple they should sleep and they had a long day.

The family got into their nest and Rosie snuggled up into her mother's warm wings to use a blanket. Rosie was making herself comfortable in her mother's wings and was soon fast asleep, Garth kiss his daughter's forehead.

"Goodnight my beautiful darling Rosie, thanks for coming into the world and bringing me joy. You made me so happy and proud." Garth said, while Holly was happy that her mate was happy and have a family of their own.

Garth have a new life to take care of his wife and new child. Garth now had everything he wanted, someone to love and someone to take care of. He was finally a father and he become the happiest bird in the world.
