Chapter 9-Too Fast
Philp's POV
Andrea is having her usual girls night at the house. Except this time there is no Beth or Maggie. Just her and Michonne. They are in the home movie theater watching Jurassic Park for some reason. Nothing wrong with the movie, I was just surprised at their choice.
Michonne wanted them to go out for drinks but I had convinced Andrea they should stay in. Maggie and Beth were bad enough. Michonne actually hated me. You really need new friends,Andrea. Beth is naive, Maggie doesn't really like you, and Michonne is the worst.
I stay outside the door listening to you and Michonne's conservation. I don't want to spy, but I really don't trust her. Without Maggie and Beth there, who knows what craziness she might try to tell you.
"Laura Dern is really beautiful. You kind of remind me of her. You have a soft classic look,"Michonne tells her.
"You should see my sister Amy. She is the real beauty," Andrea says, being her usual modest self.
"Hopefully, I'll get to meet Amy soon. But do you know who Jeff Goldblum's character reminds me of?" Michonne says with a cheeky tone.
"With that dark hair and those big brown eyes? He sort of reminds me of Shane," she says in a voice so soft, I could barely hear her.
"I can't believe you two aren't seeing each other anymore. I really thought the relationship might try into something more," she actually says pretty loud. She wants me to know how much she hates me.
"Our song was Last Night by Morgan Wallen. He took me to our first date at McDonald's. We rarely left the bedroom. Doesn't seem like a long term relationship. He also really likes to drink and there were at least two other girls besides me," she answers, trying to make it sound like she doesn't miss him.
"Okay so I know he wasn't perfect. But Andrea,you know you miss Shane. Maybe we should drive down to Savanna to check on him. I have talked to him recently and I know he would love to see you. Aren't you curious on how he is doing?," Michonne responds, probably being the worst friend ever. You have a boyfriend now and she is pushing you back to the man who wouldn't commit. What kind of friend is that Andrea?
"I did love Shane. But my relationship with Philip is different. He is all about me. We want the same things in life. I am even taking him to meet my parents and sister next week. I fully expect a marriage proposal by this summer. If not before," you said.
"Already? You guys met in January and you moved in with him after two months? Isn't that a little fast? You don't see any red flag in this relationship?"
She wants you to dump me, Andrea. That is why she wants you to go on this road trip to separate us. Is it to get you back with Shane or just to get more time with you alone? Either way I don't like her. How she is trying to control you.
"We actually met in December and started dating in January. If we get married in October, that will be almost a year," you said, defending our relationship.
"My gut is telling me there is something off with him. He isn't what he seems," she warns her.
"Mich, let's watch the movie. I am finally getting my family with Philip and Penny. You should be happy for me," Andrea says, trying to get her to be quiet. I walk into the room interrupting them, carrying a bowl of popcorn with two sodas.
"I thought you two might want a snack for the movie," I said, handing Andrea the bowl.
"Thank you sweetheart," Andrea says, kissing me on the lips. Michonne gives me a look that could kill. I know she is watching as we kiss. I leave the room. About an hour later Michonne finally leaves, I have you to myself.
"I wish she could be happy for me. She is telling me that I should get back with Shane. But that is strange too. Because she hated Shane when we were together," Andrea says confused.
I know now that she is so clearly in love with you. I can't tell you. You wouldn't believe me anyways.
"She is probably jealous of the attention you give a boyfriend. Some friends are like that. When they are single, they want you to be single too," I said, wrapping you in arms.
I am angry at Michonne, but so pleased you are thinking about our wedding after only two months. Why wait until October, Andrea? That seems so far off.
I know now you really want me. You are tired of dating, one night stands, and men that are only using you for your body. You want a husband and to be a wife. My wife has only been gone for eighteen months but I want another chance at a family so bad. We are going to be a family, I think.
"I do hope she finds someone. I think everyone deserves what we have," she says, kissing me again. With every kiss and touch she is becoming more mine.
"I am growing on you, huh?" I whisper in her ear.
"Something like that. We should go to bed," she says, taking my hand.
"Don't have to tell me twice," I grin.
I knew from the look in her blue eyes we are about to make love. I would deal with Michonne later, at this moment I needed to make love to my future wife. Every time we are together, you start to feel more like mine. The memories of watching you make love to Shane are beginning to disappear. You will be my wife Andrea and Penny's mom. Nothing or no one will stop me. Not even Michonne.
