Author's Note: Well it is February everybody the month of LOVE!...or for some people it is just Feb.

Either way to start us off is an idea that has been stuck in my head.

This is set in the far future of the main UF story where the kids are now adults and this story is centered around Steven trying to get the nerve to ask Connie to marry him.

Now this is just my idea of how this would go, if Minijen has other ideas then okay.

The song comes from Frozen 2, all be it a deleted song that should have been in the movie and I doubt I'm the only one that thinks that.

So, let's get started!

Get This Right.

"Come on, Steven it's time!" Mabel stated. She and Dipper stood in front of their longtime friend inside the gem temple while he stood in front of a mirror while he fashioned his tuxedo for his and Connie's dinner date.

"And I still say it is a bad idea," Steven spoke while fixing his tie. "After all, you recall what happened last time I tried to propose?

Dipper sighed, "Steven, you both were too young at the time and you were dealing with a lot of things back then. But you're fully stable and Connie's graduated from college."

"Yeah! Now is the perfect time to ask Connie to marry you!" Mabel added. "And think how romantic it would be if you did it on the anniversary of you two officially becoming a couple?"

She sighed romantically, "I'm swooning just thinking about it."

But Steven did not share Mabel's mood as unwanted memories invaded his mind, "But, but what if she doesn't want to get married?" He turned around to see his two friends staring at him like just grew a second head.

"You're kidding?" Dipper asked.

"Steven you adorably hot goofball!" Mabel shouted. "Didn't you notice her hints?!

"Wh-what hints?" Steven asked nearly hitting the mirror

"She's been showing you movies of couples getting married," Dipper said..

"She's been suggesting hoses and apartment locations, even offered to ride along with you," Mabel added.

"She's been asking you about which sounds better, Connie Universe or Steven Maheswaran," Dipper said.

"For crying out loud, she took you to the mall on display showing wedding dresses!" Mable finished.

Steven blushed at that, "I uh, I just didn't want to assume is all."

Dipper placed his metal hand on Steven's left shoulder, "Steven, trust us. She's ready."

Steven patted Dipper's arm and took a deep breath, "Okay, I'll propose to her tonight."

Mable let out a loud cheer and hugged both Steven and Dipper, "AWSOME! Oh, so where's the dinner date located? Are you going to do it and a fancy restaurant or perhaps at the place where you first met?"

Steven pulled away from the hug. "Yeah, for the second option, that is a big fat no, not after what happened last time and as for the first option, I wanted to keep it private. I don't want to make it a spectacle…epically if she says no."

"SHE'S NOT GOING TO SAY NO!" Shouted the Pines twins, nearly knocking Steven to the ground.

"Okay, okay! Anyway, I'm going to ask her on top the temple hill."

Dipper snapped his fingers in realization, "Ah, the place where you indirectly healed her eyes."

"Oh, that's even better!" Mabel grinned.

Steven nodded. "Yeah, okay. This is it. If you guys are certain?" Dipper and Mabel nodded.

"Ok, I'm going to do it. I'm going to ask Connie to marry me!"

A few hours later.

'I'm not going to ask Connie to marry me this is a mistake!' Steven thought as he sat next to Connie on the picnic blanket while wearing a lovely red dress similar to the dress she wore on his 14th birthday, minus the hat.

She looked beautiful, but then again Steven always thought she'd looked beautiful in anything.

They sat down facing each other, their picnic food finished, the sun was slowly setting, and Dipper and Mable were both hiding behind the lighthouse as they spied the couple.

"Why isn't he saying anything?" Mabel whispered.

"Give him time, Mabel," Dipper silently hushed her, "He's just nervous."

"All he's got to say is 'Will you marry me, Connie?' how hard is that?"

Dipper rolled his eyes, "Well you're not the one proposing to her."

"So," Connie started. "It's a wonderful evening."

"Yeah," Steven gulped. "It is."

Connie brushed the end of her dress as her cheeks slightly turned red, "Uh, is there….anything you want to talk about, Steven?"

Steven started to sweat, "Uh, yes. Connie?"

Connie leaned forward, her expression seemed to show anticipation while the hidden twins stuck their heads out to hear more. Steven took a deep breath and opened his mouth to say….

"Is it hot in here?"

Dipper and Mable fell on their faces and quickly hid again while Connie leaned back, confused.

"We're outside."
"Right," Steven gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Is it hot outside?"

"Well, it is Summer, Steven" Connie added. "Are you okay?"

Steven straightened up a bit while wiping the sweat from his brow and cheeks, "Oh I'm fine, it's just that, well-um, the thing is….I've been thinking lately about something. Something very, very important."

"Okay," Connie stood upright, her hands on her lap while smiling at him.

Steven took two deep breaths, "Um, Connie can I ask you a question?"

"YES!" Connie shouted causing Steven to fall backwards, then she quickly adjusted herself while coughing on her hand while trying to act cool which was hard due to the crimson hue on her cheeks. "Uh I mean, yes, what is it?"

"Smooth, Maheswaran," Mabel commented.

Dipper rolled his eyes, "Like you wouldn't do the same?"

Mabel glared at her brother, "Or you?"

Dipper blushed, "Touche."

Steven quickly stood up while taking more deep breaths, "Well, Connie. I-uh, well I wanted to. I-I" As he tried to say the words, his breathing stated to speed up, sweat started falling more from his forehead and his body started flashing pink, instantly alerting Connie and the twins.

"Steven!" Connie cried in worry and causing Steven snap out of it in time to see his body glowing pink.

"No, no, no, no!" Steven was about to panic but then remembered his calming montra from his therapist. "Hi to the gem, bye to the pink. Hi to the gem, bye to the pink. Hi to the gem, bye to the pink."

Finally, he calmed down but stood up from the picnic while holding his face. "Ugh, I'm messing it up again, why is it so hard this time?"

Connie instantly stood up as well as she walked towards him, "Steven, it's okay. Look if, if it's something I did then-"

Steven turned around to her, "No, Connie it's just." He sighed.

Steven: It's not you, it's me.

Connie's eyes widened at that along with Dipper and Mabel.

Steven: The timing and the setting aren't what I thought they'd be.

There's probably someone better for you out there any way.

Maybe I just need some space.

No, I should just come out and say…

Connie covered her mouth with both hands, was Steven about to break up with her?

"OH HE BETTER NOT BE DOING WHAT I THINK HE'S DOING!" Mabel growled while Dipper was holding her back from giving Steven a beat down.

"Mabel, wait a second!" Dipper said as Steven gently placed both hands on Connie's shoulders.

Steven: I wanna get this right, babe. I wanna thrill you in the way you deserve.

Connie smiled at this along with breathing a sigh of relief while the twin onlookers also shared in that relief and went back to hiding and observing as Steven pulled back.

I wanna blow your mind, darling. I'm just having trouble getting up the nerve.

Steven wanted to appear calm and cool but the nervousness mixed with uncertainty was causing him to turn pink on and off like someone flicking a light switch rapidly.

I wanna give you what you want.

I wanna be the man you chose.

I wanna sweep you off your feet.

Without puking on your shoes.

Maybe I'll do better in the candlelight!

I gotta get this right.

Steven calmed himself down as he went to the picnic basket and pulled out a small bouquet of flowers and placed them next to her, then pulled out a min candlelabra and a lighter.

He tried lighting it but no fire came out, in frustration he clicked rapidly till fire did came out of the lighter, but while lighting the candles he was too late to notice he crushed the candlelabra with his gem strength and the flamed candles fell on the basket.

"DON'T WORRY I GOT IT!" Steven; now fully pink blew hard on the basket extinguishing the flames but also blowing the basket away, "That's okay," Steven smiled as the pink vanished from his body. "There was nothing else in it anyway."

I wanna make you swoon, babe.

I wanna rock you with my righteous romance.

I wanna set a mood, darling.

But I'm sweating through the seat of these pants.

Connie gave him a worried look but soon it vanished as Steven took her hand and started to slow dance with her but then he started to get nervous again as his legs started glowing pink.

"Uh, this is a stupid question but are you okay?" Connie asked as the pair stopped dancing.

I had planned to read a poem.

Steven went to a pocket in his left breast tux pocket but found nothing there.

I thought I'd play a little lute.

He picked up his Ukulele, but when he played a cord, it snapped, but instead of getting frustrated he just kept smiling as he searched his pants pockets.

Ohh, here's a thing, I've got a ring, I didn't bring?! Oh, shoot!

Dipper and Mabel slapped their foreheads at their friends lovable forgetfulness.

SO, this went very well, goodnight!

Feeling overwhelmed with the feelings of embarrassment and stress he grabbed the his hair with both hands while glowing fully pink and accidentally rip some of his head making Connie, Dipper and Mable winced at this while Steven froze, a tear of pain fell from his left eyes.

I didn't get this right!

Steven walked away while trying to calm down. "Steven it's okay, just breath!" Connie stood up to follow him till he stopped with his back towards her.

Steven: I needed this to be perfect, not what it was before.

How can this be harder than ending a gem war?

I'm freezing up, I'm blowing it, not what I meant to do.

I know how crazy lucky I am to love you!

Steven closed his eyes and focused on all the happy moments of love and joy he's had with Connie and how today is going to be the day to ask her. With these thoughts Steven started to calm down and the pink glow vanished.

Gorgeous, funny, brave, and brilliant, beautiful, won't give up on anyone, you, ohhh!

"Oh, Steven," Connie smiled at Steven.

I wanna get this right, baby.

Steven turned to face Connie, giving her a seductive look causing Connie to blush fiercely at the look. Dipper and Mabel also blushed at Steven's expression as he walked towards Connie.

I wanna love you in the best way I can.

I wanna make you cry.

Steven blinked at saying.

IN A GOOD WAY!

Steven gently took Connie's hands and bend his left knee as he kneeled down in front of her.

By proving I could be your perfect man.

I mean to write it in the sky.

I meant to get down on one knee.

I planned to really try to be the opposite of me.

But Connie, I will love you with all my might.

Steven looked at Connie with deep love in his eyes.

I promise you, in here.

I've got that part right.

He placed her hands on his chest where his heart beats, then he flinched as he noticed his hands started to turn slightly pink, he sighed sadly as he stood back up and let go of Connie's hands.

Or maybe we should do this on some other night.

Steven sighed, "Or maybe, just forget about this whole thing."

Back where the twins are hiding, Mabel turned to Dipper, "Now, can we stop him?"
Dipper nodded, "Yeah."
"That's okay."

"Garnet!?" the twins cried out as the fusion stood behind them, they also took notice that the other Crystal Gems, along with Greg, Stan, Ford, Bismuth, Peridot and Lapis where all here too.

"What's going on?" asked. Dipper.

"Just watch," Garnet answered.

"But Steven's getting cold feet!" Mabel cried.

Garnet placed both hands on the twin's shoulders, "Don't worry, plan B is already in effect."

"Plan B?" Dipper and Mabel both asked as Garnet motioned them to look back at the couple.

As Steven was about to walk away, Connie with a look of determination ran up in front of him and grabbed his hands with both her hands as she got down on one knee.

"Wait. Steven Quartz Cutiepie Demayo Diamond Universe," She then pulled out a ring from her dress pocket. "Will you marry me?"

Dipper and Mabel's jaws dropped while Garnet gave a wide grin, while Steven just stared at Connie, his cheeks turning red instead of pink as big wide smile grew on his face.

Steven: You got that right!

Steven lifts Connie up by her waist as he spins her around, both of them feeling overjoyed.

Steven and Connie: Baby, I'm gonna thrill you in the way you deserve.

We're gonna get this right, darling.

As long as we're together we won't lose our nerves.

Greg tried to wipe the never ending, tears from his eyes as Pearl took out a tissue and gave one to him and Lapis while Amethyst and Peridot held onto each other as both were bawling their eyes out from crying.

Stan stayed calm but his lips started trembling while Ford patted his brother's back while Bismuth wiped some tears of her own.

Garnet just hugged Dipper and Mabel as they smiled happily at this.

Steven: I'm gonna be the man you want.

Connie: Guess what? You already are.

Steven: I wanna make your life so good.

Connie: You're doing pretty good so far.

Steven and Connie: We got the hard part over with now hold me tight.

Finally, they stopped spinning, Steven with his arms wrapped around Connie's waist and her hands wrapped around his neck and their foreheads touching the other.

We're gonna get this right!

They kissed and in that instant they the pairs love caused them to fuse into Stevonnie hugging themselves happily.

Everyone cheered at the happy moment and went to off to congratulate the happy couple while Garnet, Dipper and Mable stayed where they were.

"You knew Connie was going to propose to Steven, didn't you?" asked Mable. "Future vision, right?"

Garnet shook her head, "No, Steven was taking too long and I heard her ask Melody where Soos got her ring."
"I can see that," Dipper added.

"Yeah," Mabel agreed. "Let's hope it doesn't take you as this long to ask Pacifica to marry you, bro."

Dipper nodded, "Yeah….HEY!"

Author's Note: Phew, this was a long one huh? I had this idea stuck in my head for a long time.

It started out as an idea that Steven was very worried about tyring to propose to Connie until finally she got tired of waiting and asked him herself.

I hope I did it right, what do you guys think?
