A/N: Finally time to get into the story proper, forgive for the shortness of this chapter but... I wanted to get a reader's prospective on a Shin Uchihaesque storyline with an Itachi clone, and with Hanabi playing a bigger role than intended how you all feel about the multiple wives thing. Considering that I wanted to start this arc with a ten year flash forward and things as they are now would have meant a far different Namikaze Izumi. I will change to story cover to reflect what will become of her, I have three directions I can take this story. Right know I have the original 16-year-old Izumi on the cover. Review or PM to let me know.
It was an eventful morning for a busy diner crawling with the Nin of sand, mist, and leaf. A woman in her late twenties moved through the establishment humming to herself guiding a broom in between the filled tables stopping at the side of a mature woman longingly looking at a board with a picture of a teenage Naruto and Satsuki eating at the same diner at a table with team Taka. "It's been a while since I have seen you all together… I wonder how those two are doing." She spoke looking at the picture, staring a hole into Naruto.
The woman with the broom chuckled, brushing her long dark pink hair aside. Knowing those two, they were both doing just fine, she was willing to bet she was a Namikaze by now. "They're fine, Naru said that Konohagakure has stopped dragging their asses and is making us a clan, you are looking at a future Namikaze."
"Wait Namikaze?" A random Suna Nin asked her with disbelief. It had been a long time since he had heard that name, he had no idea that the Yondaime Hokage had children. It was not a rare practice for shinobi to hide the children of notable figures but this was a Kage of all things.
The Namikaze narrowed her eyes at the man, she had heard from Naruto that his father was hated by the enemies of Konoha and Suna was just that before Orochimaru's invasion so she would have to be more on guard than she was already. Sighing, she had to question the man in front of her in case he was going to do something to her or Naruto and his daughter. "Yeah, is that a problem?"
The Suna representative was about to say something but was quick to shut his mouth noticing her killing intent aimed right at him. "I-I mean, I didn't know that the former Hokage had children, Namikaze Minato, that is, I didn't mean to offend. Your father-in-law is… was a commendable person. Congratulations, by the way, I hope the two of you have a wonderful life together." He finished excusing himself.
"Wait…" The mature woman paused to look at the Namikaze like she grew a second head. "You are married to Naruto?" She asked as if she did not believe that the other woman had that type of relationship with the man.
The Namikaze stared at the woman blankly before snorting, Namikaze was a lot of things for Naruto but unfortunately, a lover is not one, not that she had not tried to become one before. 'Satsuki would have killed me if I tried it, hopefully, a kid had chilled her the fuck out by now.' She thought laughing remembering every time that the wife would complain to her and another about all the women that would flirt with Naruto when they were younger, watching her go off her rocker was entertaining to watch, and that other person basically saying that they would have his babies, but in the end that was Satsuki and not them which was the icing on the cake. "No, I like living, thank you."
"Then…"
"Me and Naru are like siblings now… with Rin. Rin and I are basically his sisters. But if he ever wants me like that and we got the wife's permission then I would not mind settling down with Naru. If only Rin did not meet the Mizukage then... Sometimes I wish the former Mizukage wasn't as bold as she was… That was fucked up for her to target a child like that. It's not like it had to be an Uzumaki… that bitch." The Namikaze spoke with disgust in her tone.
"You ok Tayuya?" The mature woman asked, clear that Tayuya was remembering something unpleasant.
Tayuya clutched the broom as if it owed her something. She knew about Naruto's past along with the warning about his father, as Rin did, so she was fully aware of what garbage that her 'brother' had gone through. This world was too selfish and fucked up for words and that Mizukage had no right to add to it, even after Naruto lost his adoptive mother in the fourth great shinobi war, and stopped a coup that hospitalized a woman that he really saw as an older sister just to run back to that village. She had never seen someone so defeated and still living for others in her life and it was a tough pill to swallow. "It's fine, the past should stay in the past. I am going to take a break. Is that alright?"
"Y-yeah…"
The pink-haired woman handed the broom to the mature woman and headed for the kitchen across the diner. When she was halfway there the double door at the entrance swung open violently revealing a large black mamba that scanned the crowded restaurant of stunned Nin before making eye contact with Tayuya, coiling its body. "Ochi?" Tayuya questioned as the black snake visibly relaxed, shrinking in size.
"Lady Tayuya! How fortunate to find you well. Your scent was so faint it made it hard to know." The now 15-meter female said while Tayuya walked up to her. Some of the Nin relaxed as well as were confusing Naruto's summon as hers, however the fact remained that some were still on guard.
"What are you doing here? Did something happen, something would have to happen if you were here. Is Naru ok?" Tayuya asked, worried.
The coiled-up snake scanned the business trying to measure up every Nin, not sure that the place was safe for her cargo. "Is it safe here?" The snake asked more to confirm than to know, considering that Naruto was the one who sent her here.
Tayuya for her part looked at the owner and then the crowd before turning her head back to Ochi. "In several ways, I would say that it was safe, but we had better get to the back before someone actually tried something."
"No can do."
"What?"
"I am not alone." Ochi confirmed uncoiling to reveal a shaken Izumi, the little girl clutching a frog-shaped coin purse. "Naru-han left her with me to find you."
Tayuya blinked for a couple of seconds trying to process what Ochi said, staring a hole into Izumi's face, the first time that she had seen the young girl in person. Not only was Naruto's strongest summon with the little girl… but, but she was mostly certain that Naruto instead of telling her he was in town made her into his babysitter while something possibly dangerous happened to him. 'That… That asshole.' Tayuya subtly thought to herself. Kneeling to meet Izumi's eyes, she greeted the little girl. "Hey… how are you? Do you know who I am?"
Izumi looked at the smiling face of the not-so-friendly woman as if examining her features before pulling out a piece of parchment from her coin purse, and unfolding it. Tayuya noticed it was the same picture the owner was looking at when Izumi pointed to her in the photograph talking to a now Namikaze Karin, her smile growing larger. Not saying another word, Izumi wrapped her arms around Tayuya before beginning to sob. "Aunt Tayu…Tay…Ta…"
Tayuya picked the little girl up, cooing her as she cried. "It's okay, it's going to be ok." She turned her attention to the snake nodding for her to follow as she continued to the back, now with her niece in tow. "Do you like ramen?" Tayuya asked Izumi.
