9:43 A.M. – Dearly Beloved Memorial Hospital

Four Months Ago

Nick was still very unused to this particular hospital as he walked around to see where everything was.

After all, even if this was where his parents worked, he'd never really been here before except on very rare occasions, and a lot of this hospital had been renovated recently, so a lot of it was new.

At least the doctors and nurses here were very nice, directing him on where to find his mom and dad's particular station.

On the way across the fourth floor hallways, Nick passed by an open room, only to stop and step back when he noticed who was in that particular room.

It was a sixteen-year-old girl, the same age as him, with wide pale-blue eyes and her head covered by a wool hat with a heart pattern on its brim and adorned it with a bunny pin.

What was it about her that just caught his attention?

Deciding to take a chance, Nick stepped into the room to greet her.

"...oh, hello," the girl stated. "It's... been a while since I've had an visitor around my age."

"Really?" Nick gasped. "Does nobody come to visit?"

"Well, it's not too interesting," the girl answered. "I don't really have any friends my age, and my parents..."

The way she sounded when talking about her parents, Nick decided not to push the issue.

"O-Oh, wait, where the heck are my manners?" Nick quipped, reaching out to the girl. "My name's Nick Kelly, by the way."

The girl smiled and leaned over to shake Nick's hands.

"My name's Sarina Tendouji. It's nice to meet you, Nick."

Story Rated: T for Teen

Story Created: February 16th, 2025

Story Summary: The one-hundred and sixty-ninth co-op project between Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger, and episode one hundred twenty-seven of our mission-based series Totally Spies: The New Adventures. A strange occurrence is happening around Beverly Hills, where people are obsessed with doing nothing but listening to classical music, often to their detriment. Naturally, the spies are suspicious and head out to investigate, only to find that this is the work of The Great Kandinsky and Sebastian Saga. The problem is, a few of the spies get caught up in this as well, so the spies will have to be short-handed if they hope to stop Kandinsky and Sebastian, who, as always, seem to have a sinister scheme in the works...

Author's Notes from Mat49324: Our 11th season of The New Adventures is off and running, and this train of fun is going to go as long as it takes. We hope you enjoyed our last project, The Spoiled Brat Soiree, and that you enjoy this one. Have you ever enjoyed your favorite bits of classical music whether it's on cartoons or just by random happenings? Well, that's going to be the subject of this project, The Madly Inane Musician, and that's where I'll leave it. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for anything he'd like to say.

Author's Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: Season eleven continues to truck along with yet another unlikely pairing of baddies, along with a genre that Sebastian doesn't really endorse, but hey, maybe he decided to branch out for once. Let's see if this genre change will work out for Sebastian or if he should have just stuck to his original shtick. Batons ready? ROLL IT!

Act 1: A Touch of Class

8:07 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House

("Next Time I Fall" by Peter Cetera and Amy Grant plays)

As the spies' next summer vacation was still in its early stages, it was the perfect time to sleep in multiple days until the Fall when the spies had to head back to Mali-U. Mat and Sam were already on that proverbial bandwagon because they were spending the early morning kissing in bed.

"I've been waiting for this moment for a while," Mat chuckled.

"Same," Sam giggled and they shared another kiss.

The two lovers exchanged an "I love you" and continued to enjoy the warmth of the bed they shared with full privacy.

"You have something in mind for after we get up?" Mat asked Sam after a few more kisses.

"I won't be surprised if it's another pool day," Sam stated. "No better way to spend the summertime... next to the beach and The Groove of course."

"No argument from this corner," Mat quipped.

"Same," Sam added and rested her head on Mat's shoulder. "Either one works for me."

The two of them cuddled with each other and exchanged some kisses.

"Mat, I am glad to see you with that kind of happiness again that Bridget spoke of," Sam then told Mat after a kiss.

"Thanks, Sammy," Mat replied with a grin. "I'm sure that Chad Reed is going to redeem himself this summer..."

"But regardless, I'm by your side," Sam giggled and snuggled next to Mat.

Before long, they both fell asleep once again.

Meanwhile, Nick and Alex were doing pretty much the same thing.

"Ah, I am so glad we can sleep in whenever we want now," Alex giggled.

"Enjoy it while you can, because summer likes to zip by really quickly," Nick chuckled. "After everything that's happened lately, you gotta just take in the pleasantries while you've got the chance to."

"You know something else to do?" Alex quipped.

"I like the way you think," Nick responded as they both leaned in for a kiss, their lips meeting halfway.

Sometime later, Nick and Alex left their room and went downstairs to see Mat and Sam just finished their breakfast. Nick was the most surprised.

"Well, another summer day," Alex remarked while Nick went for breakfast.

"Should we head anywhere again, or is it the backyard pool outside again?" Mat asked.

Simultaneously, Clover and Blaine came down in their PJs.

"I vote the pool," Nick replied.

"Did someone say 'pool?'" Bridget giggled as she came down in a two-piece. "Because I'm working up an appetite before breakfast..."

May was right behind her, too with everyone else coming down one by one.

"The rest of us will have some breakfast of our own poolside and join afterwards," Britney added.

"You bet," Melissa giggled and came to Mat in her swimsuit.

Nick chuckled at Melissa's antics until he felt a tap on his shoulder to see none other than Haruka decked out in a bikini again.

"Hey you," Haruka giggled with a flirty wave.

"I see you haven't really changed much, have you?" Nick chuckled.

"You know you love it," Haruka laughed.

"True, true," Nick admitted as he and Haruka leaned in for a kiss. "As long as you don't make me slip again, we're good."

"Nah, that'd be too easy," Haruka answered. "I gotta think of new and interesting ways to get ya."

Some of the other spies were busy getting some breakfast for those who were going to eat first.

"I think we're good," Nozomi told Dawn.

Nick and Sam came to help take some of the foods outside. Britney, Dawn, and Nozomi were just a few of the spies who'd opted on breakfast first.

"WHA— HEY!" Clover screamed when Bridget jumped over Clover's head into the pool.

Before long, Clover was victimized by one of May's immediate Pirate Dives.

"I'd hate to be you, Clover," Alex wryly chuckled.

"I totally know the very possible reasoning behind that!" Sam added.

It didn't take the boys three guesses to figure out that Clover was still happy over Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Christophe Pourcel winning the last Motocross event at Freestone with a 1-5 in the 250cc class.

"It's always when you least expect it, huh?" Blaine quipped.

"Yeah, you really gotta be prepared for anything in cases like this," Nick answered.

"One thing's for sure... Dean Wilson's not going to make that mistake twice," Mat remarked.

Before long, he and Sam went in the pool themselves.

"All right, who's the wise guy?" May called out, only to find herself grabbed by the ankles and yanked underwater by Clover.

"Sorry, May, but that's kinda what they call 'karma'," Blaine chuckled.

While everyone else was distracted, Bridget suddenly got a devious idea, and spread her arms out before spinning around rapidly, her arms dredging up waves to splash all of the other spies at once.

"I knew that would work," Bridget laughed.

Before any of the spies could retaliate, Nick was the first to notice that the water around them was starting to swirl on its own. Nick quickly raised his hands to surround everyone with a large psychic bubble and lift them out of the pool just as it became a whirlpool.

"Should have figured that was gonna happen sooner or later," Britney sighed.

"Remember, bad guys don't care about our relaxation time," Sam responded. "That's just a thing that happens."

"Well, how about we go and see who's trying something skeevy today, shall we?" May quipped as everyone changed into their spy suits before Nick dissipated the bubble, allowing everyone to dive into the pool and head to W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters.

10:45 A.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

Jerry's Office

"And that's how you properly do a pool landing," Nozomi laughed as all thirteen spies landed in Jerry's office.

"Wait, you saw somebody not do it right?" Nick wondered.

"Some idiot at Mali-U before the end of term tried to be fancy and do a bunch of flips off of the diving board, but he ended up doing a belly flop instead of the stylish dive," Nozomi chuckled.

"All right-y, then, Jer, who's gonna have to face the music today?" Clover proclaimed.

"How fitting that you mentioned music, Clover," RiCO quipped as she materialized in the office and waved her hands to change the viewscreen to a mugshot of both Sebastian Saga and The Great Kandinsky.

"Okay, why the heck are these two teaming up all of a sudden?" Blaine asked.

"He probably wants some kind of special effects for his next gaudy rave show," Melissa noted.

"We've gotten a lot of reports of people having listened to specific kinds of music and then acting very lazy and listless," RiCO explained.

"Do we know what kind of music?" Haruka wondered.

"We're not entirely sure, but that's what you're all going to find out," Jerry stated. "All we know is that everyone who's been mesmerized was listening to music beforehand."

"Sounds pretty on-brand for Sebastian," Alex quipped. "Well, everybody, how about we head out there and do what we do best?"

"Oh, you'd better believe it," May laughed as the spies moved to collect their gadgets before setting out to explore downtown Beverly Hills, as that was where Sebastian and Kandinsky had last been seen.

11:04 A.M. – Downtown Beverly Hills

"There's gotta be a reason why those two are teaming up," Sam wondered as the spies continued to search around for any sign of their baddies.

"You think maybe Sebastian's trying to branch out into other genres of music?" Clover queried. "Because let's face it, rave music can only take you so far before it gets stale."

All of a sudden, the spies were surrounded by dozens of copies of Sebastian, all of them ready to play a power chord on their guitars.

"Oh, jeez!" Britney gasped.

"Oh, please," Nick taunted as he flew up into the air, fired a Final Shine Attack straight downwards to blast one of the copies away, and then swept it across the area to eliminate the other copies in one fell swoop. "Come on, Kandinsky, when are you gonna get it through your thick head that this ol' trick doesn't work?"

Just then, more copies of Sebastian appeared around them, as did what appeared to be gigantic loudspeakers. The copies of Sebastian all raised their hands in unison.

"Oh, crapbaskets!" Nick exclaimed as he flew back to the ground to surround everybody with a large psychic bubble just in time, as the Sebastian copies all played their chords at once, and the loudspeakers magnified the sounds waves by tenfold. Thankfully, Nick's barrier held so he could snap his fingers and make it explode, the recoil burst dissolving the Sebastian copies.

"Jeez, that was a close call, wasn't it?" Haruka gasped.

"No kidding," Dawn replied.

That was when the Great Kandinsky and the real Sebastian Saga made their presence known.

"Well, what do you think of that trick?" Kandinsky laughed.

"Honestly, needs some work," Nozomi quipped.

"I wouldn't get too cocky if I were you, little brats," Kandinsky cackled. "After all, I've learned quite a few new tricks since the last time we threw hands."

"Oh, you've got the nerve to call us cocky when that's your bit?" May retorted, activating her Emergency Gadget Transporter to summon her trusty anchor to her hands. "Methinks you might need to get your head examined."

"Oh, we've got a new 'bit' that you'll think is pretty rockin'," Sebastian proclaimed. "But right now, we've got more pressing matters to attend to, like dealing with you before you can even think about messing up our grand performance."

"Well, isn't that just too bad," Nick taunted as he clenched his fists and let his psychic aura burst to life around him. "Because you've got another appointment with a containment cell."

"All right, everybody, let's stomp on them!" Bridget exclaimed as she reached for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"

Once she'd transformed, Bridget led the charge against the villains, the rest of the spies following suit quickly.

"I know you can't handle any speed," Bridget taunted.

She backed up her statement by dashing in every direction around Sebastian and Kandinsky.

"Wasting no time to trip them up," Nick quipped, knowing that side of Bridget really well.

"This ought to be easy," Alex remarked.

"Can you back that up, ladies?!" Kandinsky laughed as he waved his wand to cast a powerful spell on Alex, only for her to shroud herself in a Cashmere Deflector Shield that bounced the spell right back into Sebastian, freezing him in a block of ice.

This gave Sam and Clover the chance to fire twin Cyclone blast Hairdryers at Kandinsky and Sebastian, flooring both villains swiftly.

"Direct hit!" Britney exclaimed.

"Damn!" Sebastian swore.

"I think it's about time that you realize that you aren't going to stop us..." May insisted.

Kandinsky took offense to that with one of his illusions after Haruka hurled the Net Throwing Extendable Rod Mascara on both Kandinsky and Sebastian. That was when Nozomi checked out the cloak to feel nothing inside.

"Should've guessed..." Melissa chastised.

Dawn noticed Kandinsky reappeared behind Nick, but Nick didn't need to be told anything to sense Kandinsky was trying to catch him off-guard.

"That old school trickery won't work," Nick quipped. "What part of this runaround do you still not understand?"

"I'll find something to mesmerize you yet, boy!" Kandinsky laughed as he and his illusions all fired a burst of magic towards Nick.

In response, Nick surrounded himself with a psychic bubble that reflected the blasts back to their originators, dispelling the illusions and sending the real Kandinsky flying back.

"Case in point," Nick taunted.

"Checkmate, chodes!" Dawn exclaimed.

Kandinsky and Sebastian could see that their odds of winning were slim to none now.

"Don't think about retreating..." Sam remarked and cornered them both along with Clover and Alex.

"We're not sure what you spodes are up to, but it's stopping now!" Clover proclaimed as the spies closed in on them.

"You'll find out," Kandinsky sneered.

"Just know that you'll be 'musically inclined...'" Sebastian added.

Kandinsky then used that same illusion with Sebastian Saga near him, and they both disappeared. Nick tried to fire a psychic shot before they left, but he was too late.

"Crap, I missed 'em!" Nick chastised.

"They didn't exactly get away fully," Sam pointed out.

A strange CD and USB drive was left behind, which no doubt belonged to Sebastian and Kandinsky.

"I guess this calls for RiCO and Jerry's assistance, then," Haruka stated.

"No question," May remarked.

With that, Sam got out her X-Powder to make the expected call.

"How goes the mission, spies?" Jerry asked.

"Well, we just had a row with Kandinsky and Sebastian," Sam answered. "But when they retreated, they dropped both a CD and a USB drive, and we were wondering if you could analyze them for us."

"Just place 'em on the scanning pad and I'll do my thing," RiCO stated. Sam did just that so RiCO could start analyzing them. "How about you all just head home for the moment and we'll let you know if we spot any sign of our villains?"

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Mat quipped.

But as the spies headed back towards the beach house, they all noticed a few people in the nearby park swaying back and forth, as if listening to music.

"Looks like they're having a time," Melissa chuckled.

"...I don't know, sis, something feels off here," Nick answered. "They look like they're just listening to music, but I'm getting weird vibes. I'm gonna go check it out."

Nick walked over to where those particular people were sitting in order to investigate further, only to be met with a nasty surprise.

"Um, excuse me, miss, is everything..." Nick started, only for the woman he was questioning to stand up abruptly and take a vicious swing at him. "Whoa, hey!"

"Do you mind, you crusty little hooligan?!" the woman growled. "I'm trying to listen to this before you so rudely interrupted!"

"Hey, I wasn't trying to offend you or anything," Nick responded, only for the woman to lunge forward and try to kick him, a strike he easily dodged. "Jeez, lady, what's your damage?!"

"My 'damage' is you!" the woman snarled. "Now just let me listen to my music in peace!"

The woman huffed before marching back to the bench and sitting down to continue listening to her music. Other park patrons could only look on in confusion, as most of them had just seen that woman violently attack Nick for seemingly no reason.

"...all right-y, then, that was not how I expected that to go down," May admitted.

"You all right there, Nick?" Haruka asked.

"Just a little weirded out, that's all," Nick responded. "But I did figure a couple things out."

"I'm willing to bet that it has something to do with those music listeners possibly being hypnotized?" Blaine quipped.

"Nailed it," Nick replied. "The few people that are listening to music all have the telltale mind patterns of being brainwashed, but here's the interesting part: I was able to catch an earful of what that lady was listening to before she chewed me out, and it sounded a lot like classical music."

"Wait, really?" Clover gasped. "That kinda genre seriously doesn't jive with Sebastian at all."

"Maybe he's just branching out this time around?" Bridget stated. "You can only milk a single genre of music for so long before it gets stale."

"Why do you think Idol Opportunity tries out so many different kinds of songs?" May quipped. "Idol groups like that don't want their music to get stale, otherwise that could invite a whole host of problems."

Just then, Sam's X-Powder started beeping, which most likely meant that Jerry and RiCO had an answer to the clues they'd found.

"What's the verdict, you guys?" Sam asked.

"Well, both the CD and the flash drive have all kinds of classical music stored on them," RiCO answered. "But each track has a strange hypnotic frequency interlaced into the music file."

"Which would explain what the heck just happened here," Alex noted, catching Jerry's attention. "Some people were listening to classical music here in the downtown park, but when Nick tried to investigate, this lady just went off on him for seemingly no reason at all."

"I wonder what Sebastian would stand to gain from this," Mat wondered. "And what he's doing teaming up with Kandinsky, of all people."

"I've got a feeling that they're doing this to cover for something else that they're planning," Nozomi noted. "If they're just brainwashing people to attack anyone that tries to interrupt their 'listening sessions', as it were, then they're probably trying to stall for time."

Suddenly, a chorus of rage-filled shouting erupted from somewhere nearby.

"Ooh, boy, that didn't sound pleasant," Melissa groaned.

"Let's move, everyone!" Sam proclaimed, and the spies all headed out to investigate this new disturbance.

When they reached the spot they'd heard the shouting, the spies all saw another pair of people with headphones on advancing threateningly on a woman a couple years older than the spies with long brown hair and bright orange eyes thanks to colored contacts.

"Wait, is that Mallory?" Clover gasped.

Indeed it was Mallory Metallic, though she didn't appear to be intimidated by the hypnotized people, firing back as good as she got.

Eventually, the brainwashed people gave up and left Mallory alone so the spies could jog up to her.

"Talk about a tongue-lashing," Nick chuckled, catching Mallory's attention.

"Yeah, well, I'm a metal singer, so we gotta have impressive vocal abilities," Mallory quipped. "Considering that you're all out here together, I'm guessing that these crazy people have something to do with a case?"

"Yup, your new nemesis Sebastian is at it again," May responded. "He's trying to use classical music to hypnotize people for some odd reason."

"I could tell with those two," Mallory answered.

"We're still trying to find Sebastian and his partner," Bridget stated. "Did you wanna join us and teach him a lesson?"

"Yeah, I think I'll do that," Mallory proclaimed as the spies began to investigate the area with Mallory in tow.

"We'll need all the help we can get, then," Blaine stated.

"So much for a break, though..." Clover chastised.

Something else seemed to be on Mallory's mind, but she kept it secret for a while.

"What's our game plan now?" Mat wondered.

"Hopefully they haven't brainwashed too many people yet," Haruka quipped. "I don't want to think about what they're planning."

"Is there some way to trace the source of this music that's hypnotizing people?" May wondered. "Maybe if we disrupt it at its source, we can stop this whole shindig."

"Regardless, if Sebastian and Kandinsky are trying to form some kind of army for themselves, we might need an army of our own, eh?" Bridget pointed out.

"Something tells me that's indeed their M.O., or part of it anyway," Sam deduced.

"I admit I enjoy my fair share of classical music, but this is far beyond decompressing per se," Mat remarked.

"Totally," Britney added in agreement.

"I just hope I look at the classics the same way after this mission," Nick sighed.

"Tell me about it," Mat added.

Surprisingly, Mallory was very efficient in battling some of the hypnotized people, flipping over a slightly older man's attempt to punch her in the chest before snapping her foot to kick him down, followed up by landing and twirling around to knock another woman away.

The two people recovered quickly and attempted to strike again, but Nick quickly put himself between them and threw out his hands to hit them both with a psychic pulse that undid the brainwashing.

"Look at her go!" Alex exclaimed.

"Well, we can do just as good ourselves," Clover remarked. "In fact, watch this!"

Clover lunged forward, using Pogo Bounce Sandals to boost her momentum enough to knock a pair of women down before they could jump on Sam and Mat. Alex blasted another man back with a Sonic Disintegrator Boombox, and May started swinging her anchor to get everyone to step back.

Nick cemented the end of this fight with a psychic pulse that was enough to rock the ground a bit, and those that were hypnotized were brought back to reality.

"Wow, I didn't think that'd work," Nick commented.

Mallory Metallic looked on with some surprise at what just happened.

"You spies are way more talented than meets the eye," Mallory replied with some applause.

"Thanks," Clover quipped.

"I suppose when we're this good, we pull off things we didn't think we would," Nick replied humbly.

"No argument from this corner," Haruka added.

Mat and Melissa were looking high and low for any sign of Sebastian and Kandinsky nearby.

"I don't see them anywhere," Mat told Melissa.

Unknown to anyone, Sebastian was hiding nearby and tried to get both Mat and Melissa hypnotized. Nick and Sam were the first ones to notice this right away.

"Yeah, nice try, guitar boy," Nick taunted as he waited for Sebastian to lunge before projecting a psychic barrier right in front of him, causing him to bounce off of it and stumble back right into Sam's path, who knocked Sebastian away with a wicked spinning kick.

"You're not getting us under your influence that way!" Sam exclaimed to them after Nick smoked them out of their hiding places.

"Well, then, how's about this instead?" Kandinsky cackled as he waved his wand to conjure a barrage of spikes above the spies. "I'd worry more about yourselves if I were you, so..."

Kandinsky's speech was interrupted when Mallory ran over and clotheslined him with her right arm, sending the magician falling to the ground and dispelling the spikes.

"And that's why you keep your eye on the birdie," Mallory retorted.

"Well, well, if it isn't little miss Metalhead," Sebastian taunted, only for Mallory to shoot a death glare his way.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Mallory shot back. "I told you, that whole 'Metalhead' phase is a part of my life that I would prefer die and stay dead. Apparently, you just decided not to listen when I told you that, huh?"

"Yeah, our baddies tend to not listen to us," Alex admitted. "It's a sad but true fact."

"Well, I think you'll be a little more receptive to my ideas this time around," Sebastian laughed as he used his metal hand to shoot out and grab Mallory by the wrist before yanking her closer to him. "After all, there's no way I'm going to let a massive talent like yours go to waste."

Before Sebastian could play the right tune to hypnotize Mallory, May snuck up behind him and swung her anchor to clock him in the back, forcing him to release Mallory.

"Rules for villains, number one hundred and thirteen," May quipped. "Make sure you are protected on all sides before trying to kidnap somebody."

Not waiting for a retort, May swung her anchor again, this time knocking Sebastian into the air. Melissa and Dawn used Pogo Bounce Sandals themselves to leap into the air and fire Cyclone Blast Hairdryers to send Sebastian right back into the ground.

"Did you forget I was here, spies?" Kandinsky laughed as he waved his wand to conjure a bunch of illusions to keep the spies guessing where he was.

"And did you forget that I'm still not falling for that?" Nick retorted.

"Yeah, seriously, get a new act for once in your life," Bridget chuckled as she reached for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"

Once she'd transformed into Sonic Mode, Bridget sped towards Nick, her intent obvious. "You know what time it is, Nick?"

"Oh, heck yes I do," Nick quipped as Bridget sped by him so they could join hands and charge towards Kandinsky. "I think it's time to debut the next iteration of our Purple Comet Attack!"

Kandinsky couldn't get his wand up in time as Bridget blitzed forward and performed a sliding kick to send Kandinsky flipping into the air. Nick let go of Bridget and flew up to tackle Kandinsky higher into the air.

Bridget skidded to a stop before jumping towards Kandinsky and landing a trio of lightning-fast hits before kicking him towards Nick, who continued the combo by stomping on Kandinsky's foot before uppercutting him back into the air.

Nick and Bridget both charged in mid-air from either side to clock Kandinsky from both sides, immediately dazing him so they could send him crashing back to the ground with a dual overhead fist slam.

Before Kandinsky could even bounce, Nick and Bridget flew back to the ground so that Nick could use a short-range Zero Gravity and send Kandinsky floating helplessly, while Bridget ran a few quick circles around Kandinsky before leaping to headbutt him further aloft.

Nick and Bridget struck again, rapidly striking from multiple angles and making it look like Kandinsky was being pinballed through the air.

"And here comes the big finish!" Bridget exclaimed as she grabbed Nick by the hands and lifted them into the air before spinning Nick around faster and faster. After a few more spins, Bridget tossed Nick towards Kandinsky so he could finish the attack with a double-footed kick to the stomach that sent Kandinsky crashing right back into the ground, skidding to a stop before tumbling backwards.

"And that's how we take care of business," Bridget laughed.

Seeing that he was out of options at the moment, Kandinsky wisely decided to retreat.

"Yeah, come back when you don't suck!" Mallory exclaimed.

"Hey, spies, sorry to interrupt a butt-kicking, but I hit paydirt on that idea you floated earlier about finding the source of this strange music," RiCO proclaimed, and Nick flipped open his X-Powder to see that RiCO was displaying a map of the downtown area, with a blinking dot indicating their next destination. "I did a scan of the city and I found some weird signals emanating from the KTWX radio tower to the southwest."

"Sounds like we've got some music to shut down, huh?" Haruka quipped.

However, that was when Nick noticed something about the group wasn't right. "...um, where did May and Blaine go?"

"They were here just a few seconds ago, before Kandinsky retreated," Sam noted.

"Damn it all, Sebastian must have nabbed them while we were distracted!" Nozomi exclaimed.

"And they're not anywhere nearby, either," Nick answered after using his psychic radar to scan the immediate area. "That might be a problem."

"Well, that's what you've got us for, right?" iCO responded. "I'm tracking the signals from Blaine and May's X-Powders as we speak, and it seems like they're both heading for the KTWX radio tower we mentioned earlier."

"Thanks for the help, you two," Sam quipped. "Let's get moving, everyone!"

With that in mind, the spies all headed further into the downtown area, occasionally stopping to free another brainwashed person, before eventually coming across the KTWX Radio Tower.

"This the place, RiCO?" Haruka wondered.

"Yup, the wacky signals are coming directly from inside," RiCO answered.

"Wait, I think I see May right ahead of us, but no Blaine," Bridget noted. "You think Blaine already moseyed his way inside?"

"Regardless, we'd better take care of this problem first before things get too hairy," Melissa stated.

May seemed to be just standing there, a pair of headphones adoring her head (not the ones she usually wore, either) and was slowly swaying back and forth to an unheard beat.

Nick took a tentative step forward in order to try and remove the headphones, but much to his surprise, May spun around and violently lashed out to knock Nick backwards.

"Hey, do you freakin' mind?!" May shouted, and despite her angry expression, Nick could see that her eyes were slightly dulled, no doubt because of her brainwashing. "I'm trying to listen to my music here!"

"Come on, May, you know that this isn't your jam," Nick teased while still mentally readying himself, knowing what was most likely about to happen.

"Oh, you're just another one of those haters, aren't you?!" May growled as she used her Emergency Gadget Transporter to summon her anchor to her hands.

"...uh-oh," Alex groaned.

"And that means it time for me to drill it into your heads what real music is like!" May exclaimed as she charged towards the spies.

May: You kids these days are so irritating with your crap tastes in music!

Nick: Oh, stop with the 'old lady takes', May, you're only twenty-two.

May: Well, if nobody's gonna teach all of you a lesson, then I guess it's gotta be me!

Haruka: Dang, she's relentless!

Britney: We've gotta get those headphones off of her somehow!

Bridget: Let me take care of that, next time on Totally Spies: The Madly Inane Musician, "That One Sour Note"!

Blaine: Okay, be honest, does anyone here like classical music?

Dawn: Well, I kinda like Chopin, but that's really because May showed me this really cool game where Chopin's kinda the focus.

Nick: Wait, you mean Eternal Sonata? That game is awesome.
