Kokabiel Arc Chapter 27: Fried Chickenette

"Jeez, how many crows does it take to kill one little devil girl? Talk about sad." Jiro said, looking down at the fallen angels with a mock disappointed look.

Jiro was standing on top of a nearby building, his red eyes and ruby earings shining in the setting sun. He was holding Ravel under his right arm as she looked up at him, her eyes wide and practically sparking as said "It can't be..." in her head.

The fallen angels looked up at him, eyes wide and shivering in fear as they realized who had just arrived. "Holy crap! It's The Red Dragon Emperor!" One of the fallen angels said, instinctively taking a step back.

"Damn it all! Of all the people to show up..." another fallen angel said scowling, but also shaking.

The lead fallen angel shook his head and regained his composure. "Keep your cool! There's no way we're giving up just yet!" The lead fallen angel said as she flew upwards, the others doing the same, floating under him.

"There's six of us and one of him! Let's kill him here and-" Before he could even finish his sentence a blast of flames shot under him and incinerated the five fallen angels under him.

The lead fallen looked on in horror as his followers were roasted in an instant, leaving only scorched feathers floating down. He looked back at Jiro with his left arm out stretched and still holding Ravel under his right arm as she looked on gobsmacked.

Jiro carefully set Ravel down, then suddenly appeared in front of the lead fallen, and headbutted him, knocking him to the ground hard. He sat up clutching his forehead with blood dipping down from it. Jiro descended and landed, glaring down at him.

He looked up and shivered as Jiro grabbed his collar and lifted him up to his level. "Here's a few simple questions: Where is Kokabiel? What is he planning? Who's working for him? When does he plan to make his move? Answer and the pain will stop." Jiro said in a low threatening tone, his red eyes glowing under his bangs as he brought his free left hand really close his face and summoned a flame in it.

The lead fallen angel winced as the heat from the flame burned his cheek. "Alright, alright, I'll talk just get that fire away from me!" He yelled as tried to move his head away from the flames.

"Good boy." Jiro said as he moved his hand away.

"I don't know where Lord Kokabiel is exactly, he contacted us remotely and gave us his orders. He's planning to start another war between the three factions to prove the fallen angels were superior to the other factions." The lead fallen said to which Jiro nodded.

"Hmph, just as we thought. Now then, whose working for him and when is he planning to put this plan into motion?" Jiro asked as he the lead fallen turned his head away. He didn't want to betray his commander and tell him everything.

"Don't make me repeat myself." Jiro said, threateningly as he brought his flaming left hand back to his face making him wince and yell slightly.

"Gah, his elite subordinates are named Kalawerner, Dohnaseek, Mittelt, and Freed Sellzen and he's planning to strike 3 weeks from now alright!" The lead fallen yelled as tried to move his head away again.

"Those guys again? And 3 weeks huh? That should be a good amount of time. Thanks for you're cooperation." Jiro said as he moved his flaming hand away.

"Wait, so you're letting me go?" The lead fallen asked, hopefully.

"When the hell did I say that? I don't sense a trace of goodness in you, you work for Kokabiel, and you like to beat on little girls. What do those warrant other than death?" Jiro asked, rhetorically, making the lead fallen's eyes widen in horror.

Jiro gripped his callor tighter and threw him into the air. He then threw a large fire ball from his left hand and incinerated him in a small explosion as he yelled out in pain.

After the explosion died down only scorched feathers were left floating down. Ravel who's wounds finally managed to heal descended from the roof top and looked on in awe as the fallen angels who were beating her were defeated so easily. Jiro then turned to Ravel and walked over to her, making her jolt.

'Oh my satan, it's really him! It's Jiro... Jiro Natsuo, The Red Dragon Emperor! I can't believe he's the one who came to save me!' Ravel said in her head with stars in her eyes as she looked up at him.

"Hey, you okay?" Jiro asked, looking down at her.

Ravel jolted again and composed herself the best she could, not wanting to embarrass herself. "O-oh yes, I'm fine now. My wounds finally healed. U-um, thank you for saving me." Ravel said, shyly as she bowed.

"Don't mention it, but why do I feel like I've seen you before?" Jiro asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, we've met before. In Miss Rias's student council room, when you punched Riser." Ravel said as she said "Eeeeek! He remembers meeee!" in her head in excitement.

"Oh yeah, you're... the fried chicken's little sister, right?" Jiro asked thoughtfully.

"Y-yes, my name is Ravel Phenex and you're Jiro Natsuo, The Red Dragon Emporer. I've heard all kinds of things about you." Ravel said, matter-of-factly while in her head she said "Wait, I'm saying too much. I hope he doesn't think I'm creepy." in her head.

"Oh, I'd like to apologize again for my brothers behavior back then. I should have tried to stop him. I hope you don't think bad of me for being his sister, Red Dragon Emperor." Ravel said bowing again.

"Well I don't and don't worry about it, anyway what are you doing here. Kinda weird to see a high class devil on a random street in a town in the human world." Jiro said with an eyebrow raised.

Ravel eyes widened slightly and glanced around nervously, trying to think of what to say. "Y-you're right, i-it's a bit odd for a high-class devil to be in a human town. But sometimes even we need a break from the chaos back home." Ravel said, then she let out a small sigh before continuing.

"Plus, I... needed to get some fresh air. Dealing with Riser's nonsense is exhausting." Ravel said, fidgeting with her fingers.

Jiro let out a sigh of sympathy, remembering Riser's attitude from back then. "I bet it is. Anyway enjoy your sight seeing in town, later." Jiro said as he pat her head and walked past her.

Ravel's face immediately falls as Jiro mentions leaving. 'N-no! I might not get another chance.' Ravel thought to herself as she runs up and grabs onto his forearm, stopping him from walking away.

"W-wait, Red Dragon Emperor! Before you go, can I ask you for a favor?" Ravel said, almost pleading.

"Huh, what is it?" Jiro asked stopping and looking over his shoulder.

Ravel let's go of his arm, backs up a bit, and blushes, preparing to ask her favor. "U-um, do you… Do you think you could… make me your pupil... and train me?" Ravel asked, fidgeting with her fingers again.

Jiro turning around fully to face her. "Hm, why exactly?" Jiro asked, raising an eyebrow

In his head, however he said 'What's with all these high-class devil girls asked to be my student?' remembering how Rias asked the same thing awhile back.

Ravel fidgets nervously as she explains her predicament. "Well you see, um, others always mock me because... I'm not that powerful. Associates find it hard to believe I'm part of the Phenex Clan. And even my own brothers bully me and call me weak and an embarrassment. Even now I couldn't defend myself from those fallen angels and would've been killed if you didn't save me. So, seeing as you beat Riser and those fallen angels so easily, I was hoping if you could make me strong so nobody would look down on me anymore." Ravel said, her expression turning downcast as she explains her reasoning.

Jiro looks at her, his own expression softening with empathy. He knows what it feels like to be mocked and bullied for being different and weak.

"Alright then, consider it done." Jiro said, now sporting a smile.

Ravel looks up at him eyes wide and hopeful. "R-really? Y-you will?" Ravel said, to which Jiro said "Yup".

Ravel's face lit up as she ran up and hugged him. "Thank you so much. I'm forever in your debt." Ravel said, burying her face in his stomach due to their height difference.

Jiro chuckled and patted her head again. "Don't worry about, besides, I'm sure you'll make a good addition with enough training." Jiro said, making her look up at him and tilt her head in confusion.

Jiro proceeded to tell Ravel about the team and their plan. After a few minutes he finished and Ravel looked at him eyes wide slightly.

"So you put a team together with Miss Rias and a few others to fight against the leader class fallen Kokabiel and other beings?" Ravel asked, to which Jiro said "Precisely".

"And you'll be joining Biblical Vanguard from here on." Jiro said, pointing at her.

Ravel jolted at his declaration. "Huh, you want me to join?! But I'm not that strong! I'll just slow you all down! There's no way I could help fight against someone like Kokabiel!" Ravel said while waving her hands.

"You said you wanted me to train you right? I'm already training the other members, so you'll fit right in. When I'm done with you, you'll be plenty strong and won't be slowing anyone down." Jiro said, smiling mischievously.

'Hm, weird. I sense a shit ton of magic power within her. Enough to almost match Rias, Akeno, and Raynare. How the hell could she and others think she's weak?' Jiro thought in his head while looking at her questioningly.

Ravel looked down with a conflicted expression as the memories of her brothers bullying and others scrutinizing looks flashed through her mind again. After a second she sighed and looked back up at him.

"Alright, I'll join you. I promise to get as strong as possible and make myself useful to you, Red Dragon Emperor." Ravel said with a determined expression.

"Glad to hear it. By the way, you don't have to keep calling me 'Red Dragon Emperor'. We're around the same age right? So just call me by my name like everyone else, alright?" Jiro said, scratching the back of his head.

"WHAT?! I GET TO CALL YOU BY YOU'RE NAME?!" Ravel yelled as her eyes tinkled in excitement.

"Alright then, I shall honor you by calling you 'Lord Jiro' without reserve." Ravel said with a determined smile.

"'Lord'? Nope, not necessary." Jiro said with an eyebrow raised.

"NO, ITS QUITE IMPORTANT!" Ravel yelled, frantically.

Jiro sweat dropped at her statement. "Fine, fine, but I'm gonna call you fried chickenette." Jiro pointing at her again.

"Huh, very well, call anything you like, Lord Jiro." Ravel said, nodding approvingly.

'It'll take me awhile to understand this girl.' Jiro said, his eyebrow twitching slightly.

Sometime later

Jiro and Ravel approached the shopping district side by side. However instead of walking normally Ravel was holding onto Jiro's forearm tightly.

"Alright, care to explain why you're holding my arm." Jiro said as he glanced down at Ravel.

"Um, well, I'm still a little shaken from that fallen angel attack and this is... helping me relax." Ravel said, sheepishly as she clutched Jiro's arm tighter.

"You're really pushing your luck ya little fried- JIRO-KUN!" Before Jiro could finish his sentence he heard a familiar voice call out to him, making jolt.

Jiro turns to see Irina standing a few feet away with a threatening, Akeno-like smile as she flares her gold holy aura, which made Ravel shiver slightly.

"There you are Jiro-kun. It's good you finally made it." Irina said in a low tone.

Jiro flinched at her tone. "H-hey Irina, what are you doing there?" Jiro asked, shivering slightly.

"You taking awhile so I decided to wait for you here. I was starting to worry that something happened to you. It seems like something did because I can't help but notice a devil girl on your arm. And why exactly is that? That's funny aren't you supposed to be my boyfriend, Jiro-kun?" Irina said as her aura grows in size her smile still in place, trying to assert her claim on him as her boyfriend.

"Woah, woah, woah, easy there, Irina. I am your boyfriend. I just saved her from getting attacked by fallen angels, nothing more, I swear." Jiro said with a panicked smile and putting his free hand up.

"She was attacked by some fallen angels and you saved her, you say? I see. It's not like you were messing around with another girl instead of spending time with me right after we just started our relationship, right?" Irina asked, opening her eyes slightly.

"Of course not, you know I love you. And she's just refusing to let go of my arm for someone reason." Jiro said, while in his head said "Damn, she wasn't kidding when she said she was the jealous type."

Irina's holy aura fades slightly as she sees the predicament he's in with the devil girl clinging to his arm stubbornly. She lets out a frustrated sigh, trying to suppress her jealousy and possessiveness.

"Hmph, it's not like I can blame you if you can't get her to let go. It seems like she's determined to stick to your side like a koala. But I expect extra cuddles and pampering when we're alone again to make up for it." Irina said, pointing at him while pouting.

"You got it." Jiro said with a thumbs up while shaking Ravel off.

Irina nods in satisfaction, her face relaxing as her initial irritation subsides. She knows she was being a bit unreasonable, but jealousy and possessiveness can sometimes get the best of her when it comes to him.

"Good. I'm counting on it. We can have more alone time later. Anyway who is this girl." Irina asked turning to Ravel who was pouting from not being on Jiro's arm anymore.

"Oh yeah, this is Ravel Phenex. A member of the Phenex Clan." Jiro said, gesturing to Ravel while looking at Irina who's eyes widened at meeting another member of a high class devil family so suddenly.

"And this is Irina Shidou, my childhood friend, and my girlfriend." Jiro said to which Ravel's pout deepened. She had hoped that he was single and available. But being the polite and respectful girl she is, she kept it to herself.

"Ah, okay. I understand. You and her are a couple. I didn't mean to intrude or make things awkward. Please forgive me for any misunderstandings. And it's nice to meet you, Miss Irina." Ravel said, bowing.

Irina steps forward and wraps an arms around his right arm. "It's alright Ravel and yes, I'm Jiro-kun's beautiful and lovely girlfriend. But hey, that doesn't mean we can't still be friends. And just call me Irina." Irina said, now sporting a smile.

Ravel's face lights up upon hearing her words. "Yeah, I would like that." She said, nodding.

"Great. Glad you two are getting along. Now then, let's introduce her to the others." Jiro said, to which they nodded and all walked into the shopping district.

The three of them walked for a few minutes in search of their friends and eventually saw them sitting at the food court.

"Ah, there they are. It seems like everyone is here now." Irina said, waving at the group, a cheerful smile on her face as they approached them.

"Hey everyone! Jiro-kun finally made it!" Irina said as they all turned their heads to them.

They look at them smiling, then their eyes land on Ravel. "Oh, Ravel, I didn't know you were still in town. Glad you could join us." Rias said as Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko nodded.

Asia, Xenovia, and Raynare, who was in her Yuma form, looked on in confusion at the new girl the others seemed to know, Raynare and Xenovia raise an eyebrow, sensing a great amount of magic power from her despite her somewhat small size and seemingly timid demeanor.

Jiro sensing their confusion turned to them. "Oh yeah, this is Ravel Phenex, an heiress to the house of Phenex. Jiro said, gesturing to Ravel while looking at the three non-devils.

"And Ravel, this is Raynare, Xenovia Quarta, and Asia Argento." Irina said, gesturing to each of them respectively while turning to Ravel.

Raynare gives Ravel a small nod of acknowledgment, her expression guarded and neutral. She doesn't show any particular reaction, simply taking note of Ravel's identity and status.

Xenovia, on the other hand, looks at Ravel with curiosity and interest. Given her strong sense of righteousness, she's likely wondering how Ravel's status as a Phenex Clan heiress reflects her character.

Asia looks at Ravel with a warm smile, while waving at her.

"So what made you bring cute little Ravel here, Jiro-kun?" Akeno asked with her usual playful smile.

"Simple, she'll be join our team." Jiro said, to which they all yelled "HUH?!" in unison.

Jiro proceeded to explain Ravel's situation, how he ran into her, and why he let her join.

"I see, so you were almost by fallen angels and want get stronger so no one will look down on you?" Rias asked, to which Ravel nodded.

The others looked at her, their expressions softening slightly.

"Well, when you put it that way, there's no way we could refuse. But Ravel just know that we don't tolerate unnecessary violence or chaos within our group. We're a team now, and we need to trust and respect each other. Can you handle that?" Irina said, sternly.

"Yes, we're all in this together now. We've all got different backgrounds and beliefs, but we're striving for a common goal. As Irina-chan said, trust and respect are essential in a team setting. Can you promise to uphold that and work together with us towards defeating Kokabiel?" Akeno said, kindly.

"Understood. I assure you, I won't let you down. I'll work hard to be a valuable member of the team and prove myself worthy of your trust." Ravel said, with a determined expression.

"Great I look forward to it Ravel." Kiba said, smiling.

"Yeah, this certainly is an intriguing mix. It'll be interesting to see how our various abilities and strengths complement each other in battle." Raynare said, nodding.

"Agreed. The diversity of skills and backgrounds within our group will be instrumental in defeating Kokabiel and completing our mission." Xenovia crossing her arms and smiling.

"Welcome to the group, Ravel. Please call me Asia. I hope we can all work together and get along." Asia said, her kind and gentle nature shining through. She's not overly concerned with Ravel's status or bloodline; what matters most to her is the content of someone's character.

She extends a hand out to Ravel for her to shake, inviting her into their circle with open arms. Ravel reciprocates Asia's welcoming demeanor, her initial standoffishness melting away as she takes Asia's hand. She feels a sense of reassurance and comfort in Asia's kind and friendly nature.

"Thank you, Asia. I'm glad to be here. I look forward to working with all of you and contributing to our cause." Ravel said, shaking her hand.

"Yo, fire bird, you like sweets?" Koneko asked holding up a chocolate bar for her.

Ravel happily accepted the sweet eagerly. "Oh yes, I love them! Especially with freshly brewed tea. Thanks Koneko." Ravel said, her eyes twinkling.

"I think you and I are gonna get along just fine." Koneko said, giving her an uncharacteristic smile.

"Alright I got some new info about Kokabiel's plans, but we'll go over it at the student council room before training tomorrow." Jiro said to which everyone's expressions turned slightly more serious as they nodded.

"But as for right now enjoy the shopping trip. I hope you all get along well with Ravel and try to get to know her. We'll meet at this food court when we're done." Jiro said, making everyone's faces light up.

Everyone nods in agreement, and the rest of the shopping trip continues with the group members engaging in conversations, getting to know each other a bit better as they browse the various stores.

As they chat and joke around, the atmosphere becomes more relaxed and friendly. Even Raynare, Xenovia, Ravel, who were initially aloof and distant, begin to feel more at ease and starts opening up a bit more to the rest of the group.

They all continue to shop with Ravel in tow as she gets to know everyone, particularly Koneko, who was the same age as her.

"looks like Ravel is settling in nicely." Jiro said, whispering to Irina.

"Yes, it does seem like Ravel is starting to feel more comfortable with everyone. As well as Xenovia-chan and Raynare. It's always nice to see new members integrating well with the team." Irina whispered, back to him.

"Yup, she's also getting quite friendly with Koneko the most." Jiro said, glancing at them as they chatted amicably while they browsed through a candy shop.

Irina chuckles softly upon observing Ravel's interactions with Koneko. "Yes, it's good to see her getting along well with her. They're the same age right? I'm glad she's able to make Ravel feel welcome and at ease. As long as she continues to show her trustworthiness, I'm sure Ravel will fit right in with the rest of us in no time." Irina said, smiling proudly.

"Yeah and then there's Xenovia and Raynare." Jiro said, looking between them.

Xenovia was currently looking at a window display of katanas along with Kiba. She looked uncharacteristicly fascinated by the unique design of Japanese swords as Kiba chuckled.

Raynare and Asia were browsing through assortment of clothes with Rias and Akeno. Rias and Asia tried some on while Raynare and Akeno threw more outfits at them to try on.

"Oh yes they seem to be getting along very well. Especially Xenovia-chan and Kiba-kun. I'm glad there's no more bad blood between them after their fight." Irina said, sighing in relief.

"Me too and it looks like Rias and Akeno found a new clothes shopping buddies." Jiro said, turning to them.

"Oh yeah, you're right. They already look like high school girlfriends. Soon they'll be having pillow fights at slumber parties." Irina said, playfully.

Jiro chuckled at her comment and then took a closer look at them. "Hmm, I don't know if it's just me, but I can't help but notice Akeno giving Raynare... disgusted looks." Jiro said, narrowing his eyes with an eyebrow raised as he looks at Akeno side eyeing Raynare while scrunching her face.

'Does this have something to do with...? Hmm?' Jiro thought to himself.

Irina's eyes widened at his observation. "Oh yeah, I think I noticed it too. I thought I was just misunderstanding." Irina said, scratching her chin in thought.

"Well, I don't know what that's about, but I'll be asking her about that another time. Just as long a there's no more conflicts with us, let's leave it for now. As for us let's enjoy our time together, Ri-Ri-chan." Jiro said, taking her hand in his and giving her a warm smile.

Irina looks up at him and blushes slightly. "Yeah, that sounds good." Irina said, squeezing his hand while was secretly worried what Akeno was thinking, regarding Raynare.

Sometime later

It was now 8 pm, already past dark, and the shopping district was now more empty. The others had already bought a what they wanted to get, Rias, Akeno, Raynare, and Asia bought new clothes. Ravel and Koneko bought assortment of sweets. Kiba bought bottles of polish for his swords. Xenovia bought three katanas as souvenirs.

They all already made their way back to the designated meeting spot at the food court and waited for Jiro and Irina. They waited patiently, having a feeling they probably wanted to spend as much together there as possible, being a newly formed couple.

Jiro and Irina walked through the shopping district hand in hand as they (Irina) bought a tone of new clothes. Jiro, instead of them carrying all of their (her) bags put them all in a pocket dimension. They were making their way back to the meet spot when Jiro remembered something.

"Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to ask: you're an expert at using swords, right?" Jiro asked, glancing down at her.

Irina's expression brightens at his question and her eyes light up with a mixture of excitement and pride. "Ah yes, you noticed! Yes, I specialize in sword combat. I've been training extensively in the 10 years we were apart. I'm pretty proficient with swords, if I do say so myself." Irina said, looking up at him with a confident yet modest smile.

"Right, I remember you mentioned it in your story before. And that's great, because I have a present for you." Jiro said, making Irina's curiosity pique.

"Oh, a present for me? How kind of you. I'm curious to see what it could be. You've caught my interest now." Irina said, looking at him expectantly, her eagerness and anticipation evident in her eyes and expression.

"Let's go to somewhere where's less people. You're gonna be very surprised." Jiro said with a mischievous smile.

Irina gives him a curious, but intrigued look, her curiosity growing. "Alright, then. Let's find a less crowded place. I'm getting more interested to see what this present is now."

They walk alongside each other hand in hand and keeping an eye out for a secluded spot to give her the present. Irina's anticipation is practically buzzing in the air between the two of them.

After walking for a few minutes, They find an alleyway and walk inside, several feet away from the bustling crowd. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, away from any distractions.

Jiro could sense the excitement and anticipation coming from Irina, making him chuckle a bit as she stands before him, awaiting the reveal of the present.

"Ok, here we are. It's nice and quiet, just the way you said it would be. I'm even more curious now since we're somewhere private. What's this present you have for me, huh, huh?" Irina said, her eyes practically twinkling in excitement.

Jiro chuckled again and summon a magic circle and reach into it pulling out a sword with a grey hilt, a red diamond design imprinted on it surrounded by four blue lines that curve slightly and a golden pommel in the shape of a cone-like arrow, a golden guard with four long claw like spikes, a shining silver blade that was notched three times on both sides of the edge near the bottom.

Jiro held the blade up as Irina is immediately captivated by its appearance. Her eyes widen in awe as she gazes at the blade he's holding. It was unlike any sword she's ever seen before.

"Oh my... That sword is absolutely stunning... It's like nothing I've ever laid eyes on before. The craftsmanship, the design, the intricate details... it's just amazing." Irina said her eyes sparkling with her fingers above her chin.

"Yup, this is the Holy Sword Ascalon, The Legendary Dragon Slayer." Jiro said, proudly.

Irina's jaw drops as she hears the name of the sword. She's heard tales and stories about the holy weapon before, and now seeing it up close, her awe and admiration grow even greater.

"A-Ascalon... the Dragon Slayer... I've heard stories about this sword, but seeing it in person is something else entirely. It's truly a marvel. I can only imagine the strength and power it holds. It's an honor just to behold it." Irina said, her eyes widening and sparking more.

Jiro chuckled again, enjoying her amazed expression. He then turned his hand to where he's holding the sword horizontally.

"And it's yours now." Jiro said, making her head snap back to him.

Irina's eyes widen even further as she processes his words, unsure if she heard him correctly. Her heart skips a beat as she realizes that he's offering one of the most legendary and powerful Holy Swords to her own possession.

"W-Wait... did you just say it's mine? As in, I can have this Holy Sword... Ascalon... the Dragon Slayer? Are you certain? It's such a sacred and powerful weapon... I don't want to believe this is all true. Can I really have it?" Irina said, shakily.

"You sure can. This is your present." Jiro said, smiling.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Irina tears up slightly as his words sink in. Her eyes glisten with joy, gratitude, and awe as she looks at Ascalon in his hand. This weapon not only symbolizes incredible power but also serves as a tangible reminder of the bond and trust they share. She can hardly believe that she's being granted such an extraordinary gift.

"Oh my... I'm honestly speechless. This is truly the most incredible and meaningful gift I've ever received. It's hard to find the right words to express my gratitude." Irina said, clasping her hands in front of her chest.

"You don't have to find any words. Consider it a heart felt gift from your childhood friend and your boyfriend. And consider it an apology for making you jealous of Ravel earlier." Jiro said, smiling warmly.

As Irina absorbs his words, a tender smile appears on her face. She is touched by his heartfelt gesture, understanding the sincerity behind his present and the apology for the earlier jealousy.

"Oh, Jiro-kun... you truly have a way with words. Your thoughtfulness and apology mean the world to me. I accept both Ascalon and your heartfelt gift, and I forgive you for the jealousy earlier. It was just a fleeting moment, and now I know your feelings for me run deeper than that. Thank you for being my childhood friend and my boyfriend and understanding me so well."

"Don't mention it, you know I love you, Ri-Ri-chan… well?" Jiro said, shaking his arm with the sword in it, signaling for her to take it.

A soft, affectionate smile spreads across Irina's face as he express his love for her. Hearing those words always makes her heart flutter, and she knows the feelings are mutual.

"I love you too, Jiro-kun. You really know how to make my heart skip a beat. And yes, I'll gladly take Ascalon from you."

She carefully takes the precious weapon from his hand, holding it delicately, but with reverence. The sword, to her, feels even more powerful and significant in her grasp, now that it's hers to wield.

"How's it feel?" Jiro asked as he observes her expression.

Irina grips the handle of Ascalon. She can feel a surge of power and energy coursing through her. The Holy Sword seems to resonate with her very being, some kind of connection forming between her and the legendary weapon.

"It feels... incredible. I can sense the power and history contained within Ascalon. It's as if the sword has a life of its own, and it's now entrusting its strength and ancient knowledge to me. Handling it, I feel like I've become connected to its legacy in a very tangible way. It's truly an astounding experience." Irina said, observing the blade.

"Great, and I know that sword was made to kill dragons, but don't worry about accidentally hurting me. I altered it's enchantments to where it'll be just like any other sword to me, but stay deadly against other dragons." Jiro said, pointing at the sword.

Irina takes a moment to process his words, her smile growing wider as she absorbs the information. "I see, so you've made it so that Ascalon is still deadly against other dragons but won't cause any harm to you. That's quite a thoughtful and clever modification, ensuring we can fight side by side without worrying about any accidents." Irina said, smiling.

"Precisely, now Ascalon is all yours now, I look forward to seeing you use it. It could do wonders for you in a fight against Acnologia, so be prepared." Jiro said, making her look at him.

Irina stiffened at the mention of the infamous Dragon God. A determined and confident look appears on Irina's face as she holds Ascalon, her heart filled with gratitude and excitement for her newfound possession.

"You can bet on it, Jiro-kun! Fighting a Dragon God like Acnologia, someone even you couldn't beat, sounds... like a daunting task, but I won't disappoint you. I'll make full use of Ascalon and show you the true power and skill it unlocks in me. Consider me your reliable partner in battle, wielding The Legendary Dragon Slayer at your side. Together, we'll face any foe that dares to oppose us and the rest of Biblical Vanguard!" Irina said, defiantly. She looks at the Holy Sword once again, feeling even more connected to it and the trust that Jiro is putting in her to wield it responsibly and skillfully.

Jiro smiled at her determination. "I look forward to it. Now then, why don't we go back to the others, so you can show off your present." Jiro said, playfully.

A cheerful and eager expression appears on Irina's face as you suggest going back to the group so she can show off her new weapon.

"Absolutely! Let's get back to the others so I can make a grand entrance with Ascalon. They're going to be blown away when they see The Legendary Dragon Slayer by my side. I can't wait to see their reactions especially Xenovia-chan!" Irina said as she grabs Jiro's right hand with her left, Ascalon in her right and pulls him along, out of the alleyway.

They walked hand in hand down the path. The shopping district is almost completely empty now, so she didn't have to hide the sword and kept admiring it. They made their way back to the group, who were waiting at the food court like they agreed.

As Jiro and Irina reach the designated meeting spot, the group notices the two of them returning. A wave of surprise and curiosity washes over their faces as they spot a sword in Irina's grasp. Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, Ravel, and Raynare jolt and shiver as they sense the tremendous amount of holy power from the sword while Asia and Xenovia look on questioningly. They all can't help but wonder why Jiro and Irina had to step away for a private moment.

"Heeey!" Irina said as they walked in front of them.

Xenovia, realizes what kind of sword is in Irina's grasp and her jaw drops as she stands there completely uncharacteristically dumbfounded.

"Wait...? Is that...?" Xenovia said in shock. She's seen the sword in books and is struggling to believe her eyes.

Jiro and Irina laughed at Xenovia's reaction. "Yes it is. That's the Holy Sword Ascalon she's holding, The Legendary Dragon Slayer." Jiro said, shocking everyone.

At his confirmation, Xenovia's mouth drops even further in sheer astonishment. The realization that Irina is holding the legendary Ascalon, The Dragon Slayer, completely floors her.

"No way... Irina, you're wielding Ascalon? The Holy Sword that was rumored to be so powerful that it could easily slay dragons? How did you manage to get your hands on it?" Xenovia said, her eyes practically popping out of her head.

The entire group is in a state of absolute disbelief, their minds reeling at the fact that Irina now possesses such a legendary weapon.

Rias: *stepping forward slightly* "The Holy Sword Ascalon...?"

Akeno: *covering her mouth with her right fingers* "I can't believe it... Irina-chan..."

Kiba: *eyes wide* "The legendary Dragon Slayer..."

Koneko: *in shock* "Irina-senpai... you're holding Ascalon."

Each of them at a loss for words, stunned by the magnitude of Irina now possessing such a mythical weapon. Raynare, Asia, and Ravel join in the collective astonishment, their voices tinged with disbelief.

Raynare: *unfolding her arms* "Well damn... Ascalon... unbelievable..."

Ravel: *covering her mouth in awe* "Irina... has Ascalon..."

Asia: *eyes wide in awe* Irina-san... that's amazing!"

They're all taken aback by the unexpected twist, struggling to process the fact that Irina, a half angel, is now the wielder of the legendary Holy Sword.

"Go on, tell us. How did you manage to acquire such a powerful weapon." Xenovia asked, still in a state of shock.

Irina, with a beaming smile, intertwines her left arm with Jiro's and proudly holds Ascalon in the other. "Jiro-kun, my loving boyfriend, granted me this extraordinary present. He even went as far as modifying its enchantments so it won't harm him. Isn't he thoughtful and amazing?" Irina said, rubbing her cheek against his shoulder like a cat.

The group gazes at Jiro with a mix of awe and surprise. "Jiro/Jiro-san/Jiro-kun/Jiro-senpai/Lord Jiro, we never imagined you would give Irina something so precious and sacred, your act of generosity and love for Irina is truly awe-inspiring." Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, Raynare, Asia, and Ravel all said in unison, their voices a chorus of astonishment and respect.

"Heh, heh, I know." Jiro said, scratching the back of his head with a small blush.

Xenovia, still in disbelief, speaks up as if unable to hold back her curiosity anymore. "Hold on a moment, Jiro, where on earth did you get Ascalon from? It isn't exactly something you can purchase in a store." Xenovia said, pointing at him dramatically again, the others thinking the same thing.

"Well, about two years ago, I got into a fight with Artemis the Greek goddess of the hunt. Well more like she heard rumors of my strength and looked for me to 'claim me as her prey' as she put it. She put up a halfway decent fight, but I easily overpowered her after going Dragon Force. Being the stubborn, prideful women she is, she wasn't willing to accept defeat, so she pulled out Ascalon to try and kill me, but I was too quick and she was only able to land a single slash on my chest. It wasn't too deep, but it hurt like a son of bitch and did leave a scar. Eventually I managed to disarm her and knock her away, leaving her no choice but to retreat. I still don't know how she managed to get it, but I held onto Ascalon ever since." Jiro said, finishing.

The group listens intently as he recounts his encounter with Artemis. Xenovia and the others are mesmerized by his story, their eyes widening and their jaws dropping at the mention of his encounter with Artemis. They're captivated by his tale, their expressions conveying a mix of intrigue and astonishment.

"Artemis? You fought the Greek goddess of the hunt? And she was trying to claim you as her 'prey'? And she pulled out Ascalon to kill you?That's... unbelievable." Xenovia said, eyes still wide as she crosses her arms under her chest.

"I know right, still have the scar to prove it." Jiro said as he parts his red leather jacket and lifts up his black shirt to show them a slanted scar on his right peck.

As he reveals the scar on his right peck, the reminder of his encounter with Artemis, the group's eyes widen at the sight. They marvel at the proof of his incredible story, their curiosity and respect for his strength growing by the moment.

"Wow, you actually fought Artemis and got wounded by Ascalon. That's quite a battle scar you've got there." Xenovia said, nodding in respect.

The rest of the group chimes in with their amazement and approval, their voices conveying collective awe.

"That's an incredible accomplishment, Jiro! You've fought against a Greek goddess, overcame her, and claimed Ascalon as your own. That's insane." Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, Raynare, Asia, and Ravel in unison.

"Heh, heh, stop it, you're making me blush, but anyway it belongs to Irina now." Jiro said, jokingly and then patting her on the back.

The group can't help but chuckle and smile at his response, understanding the sarcasm behind his comment.

"But seriously, you gave Ascalon to Irina? You really know how to win a girl's heart, don't you?" Raynare said, playfully.

"Just watch out, Irina-chan. He might spoil you too much!" Akeno said, also playfully.

Asia, ever timid and soft-spoken, pipes up with her usual politeness.

"Jiro-san... that's incredibly kind of you. Giving Irina a sword such as that is a wonderful gesture, like something from a fairy tale. It's as if you're the knight in shining armor giving your magic sword to the lovely princess. It's very... romantic." Asia said, making Irina blush with a mixture of shyness and appreciation for the romantic sentiment and being compared to a princess.

"(Heh, heh, A knight in shining armor, eh? There's some dramatic irony in that statement.)" Ddraig said in Jiro's mind, amused to which Jiro replied saying 'There sure is' as he looks down at his hands while thinking of his Sacred Gear and also blushing slightly.

"Anyway, if everyone's bought what they wanted to buy, I hope you're all ready to go home, cause I sure am." Jiro said, and as if on que everyone's shoulders slumped from the exhausting day.

The group grabbed their bags, left the shopping district. Xenovia's kept her gaze on Ascalon as Irina held it.

"Ascalon... The Dragon Slayer... Could I... Do you think I could possibly hold it...?" Xenovia said, her eyes twinkling as she held her hand up desperate to grasp the sword.

Irina giggled at her partners expression. "He, he, sure here." Irina said as she hand Xenovia Ascalon.

Xenovia gripped the sword and swung it a few times. "Astonishing, the power I feel within it is amazing. And it's so light and easy to swing around." Xenovia said looking at the blade before giving it back to Irina.

"Yeah I can't wait to train with it and see what it can do." Irina said, excitedly while holding it close.

"And speaking of training, get plenty of rest. You'll need it for tomorrow." Jiro said, to which they all said "Right!" in unison.

Ravel then approached Rias. "What is it, Ravel?" Rias asked looking down at her questioningly.

Ravel fidgeted with her fingers while blushing as if she was embarrassed to say what she wanted to say.

"U-um, Miss Rias, I... I would like to join your peerage... if I can." Ravel said, shyly.

The group is taken aback by Ravel's sudden request, especially Rias. "You want to join my peerage, Ravel? That's... unexpected. May I ask why you've made this decision?" Rias asked with an eyebrow raised.

"B-because, well I tend to have a bit of a busy schedule being an heiress and all, so if I join your peerage and word gets out that I have I joined a peerage, I'll have a lot of free time to spend time with all of you, I'll be able to fight alongside you from here on, and I'd like to stay close to Lord Jiro because I know I can learn a lot from him in order to grow stronger." Ravel said, determined while the others say "Lord...?" in their heads questioningly.

Rias listens to Ravel's reasons for wanting to join her peerage. Her expression softens as she considers Ravel's desire to have more free time and to stay close to Jiro for growth.

"I understand your reasons, Ravel. It's true that joining my peerage will give you more opportunities to fight and spend time with us. And I believe that being around Jiro will indeed help you become stronger. However, becoming part of my peerage is a big decision. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Rias asked, gently.

"Yes! And if possible I would like to be a 'Bishop' piece." ravel said, more determined.

"Very well, Ravel. If you're sure about joining my peerage as a 'Bishop', I welcome you!" Rias said, smiling as she summons a red bishop piece and magically inserted it into Ravel's body through her chest, making her an official member of Rias's peerage.

The group watches as Rias summons a red bishop chess piece and magically integrates it into Ravel's body. Since Ravel is already a devil, there's no incantation needed. Ravel feels a slight jolt of power and a sense of belonging as it completes.

"I... I feel it. The power, the connection. I'm part of your peerage now. Thank you, Miss Rias." Ravel said, bowing deeply.

No problem, Ravel, welcome to the team. We're happy to have you on board as a 'Bishop' piece. And please, just call me Rias." Rias said to which Ravel nodded, accepting the request of her new master.

Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko chime in with their support and acceptance of Ravel's new status as a member of Rias's peerage.

"You'll make a fine addition to our team, Ravel. We'll be here to support you." Kiba said, patting her shoulder.

"And we'll take good care of you from here on. You can count on us, sweetie." Akeno said, smiling.

Koneko, the petite Rook, adds her voice to the chorus of support for Ravel's presence in the team. "Yeah, Ravel. We're glad to have you with us. And it's good to have a fellow devil to eat sweets with." Koneko said, gently punching Ravel's shoulder.

"Everyone... Thank you. I'm glad to be here with you. Let's make this an exciting experience." Ravel said, smiling, looking as though she was on the brink of tears. One of the reasons she didn't voice was that through joining Rias's peerage, she could live with them, her new friends, and wouldn't have go back home to the Phenex Clan Estate. Through this she didn't have to deal with her brothers mockery and bullying, and being looked down on as weak by family associates.

The others smile at the scene. "Guess this shows most devils aren't as bad as we've been led to believe." Jiro whispered to Irina, Xenovia, Raynare, and Asia. They chuckled and nodded seeing that he was right.

"Alright, now that, that's done, like I said go home and get some rest. You'll need it for tomorrow, especially you Ravel." Jiro said, to which everyone nodded.

They all went their separate ways, Rias, Akeno, Kiba, Koneko, and Ravel teleporting to the old school building, Xenovia, Raynare, and Asia on Raynare's back flew back to the abandoned church, and Jiro and Irina walked back to their house hand in hand.

Irina, still holding Ascalon in her right hand continued to admire it.

"You really like your gift, huh?" Jiro asked, playfully.

"Of course, it's the best gift I've ever been given." Irina said as she let go of his hand and wrapped her arm around his.

"Hey Jiro-kun, why don't we have a sleep over in your room? To celebrate us becoming a couple?" Irina asked blushing as she glanced up at him, smiling.

"Sounds good to me." Jiro said, his expression mirroring hers as he looked down at her.

They shared a quick kiss and went home. They all spent the rest of the night in peace, in anticipation for the next day.
