I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
Their paths did cross, he came a few months after their wedding to check on Rin, and he found her instead.
She was in her Miko get up and picking herbs in the back gardens when he came. She smiled brightly "Are you here to see Rin?"
"Why else would I be here woman?"
Kagome blushed, now that she thought about it, it was the first time he called her that.
"I upgraded to woman have I?" She stood,
"It is what you are is it not?"
She knew in an instant that he knew she was no longer a virgin.
"You could call me little sister," She turned with a smirk on her face, trying very hard not to laugh, he stood shocked, and his eyes widened, she was messing with him.
"It would seem the Monk has rubbed off on your Miko,"
She laughed "I was only kidding!"
She was being perverted, joke or not, never did he think she would say such a brave thing. Perhaps the taking of her virginity took all her shyness away.
"Where is Rin?" He no longer wanted to talk to her,
"She gone with Sango, Miroku insists someone be with her at all times,"
Sango was pregnant with twins, this he knew.
"Why do you not carry?" He asked,
She looked at him bewildered "A little personal dont you think?"
He simply shrugged, she didn't reply,
"Are you barren?" Any kids they had would be human no doubt, maybe a little stronger than the average human.
Kagome's mouth hung open "I liked it better when you didnt talk."
He decided that was fine with him and began to walk away,
"I'm not," She said, he stopped "I'm not barren, I know you hate the thought of your bloodline being diluted, you should be happy to know that your brother, doesn't want kids,"
That was, a shocker, of course, his blood had not crossed his mind but she was correct, it would be diluted until there was no trace of demonic power, would their name one day mean nothing?
"It matters not," He guessed it was better to have a name than nothing at all, at this point what did it matter, she had long ago told them that demons died out.
"He said you would carry on the name and bloodline, he didn't want to piss you off any more than his existence already does, believe it or not, he does look up to you,"
He regarded her for a moment "Tha half-breed can do as he pleases it is no concern of mine,"
Then he left.
Of course, when he returned a few months later, she was still without child and Sango had hers. He found her washing her hands after helping with the births,
"Does it not upset you?" He asked standing next to her but watching Rin who was playing in the water upstream.
"What?" She asked,
"That you will not be a mother?" He concluded she would be a decent mother.
"But I am," She stood "I watch after Rin and Shippo when he comes around, I think of them as my children," Go figure, her selflessness knew no bounds.
"Do human women not wish to carry one in their own womb?" He could have sworn all women did. They say it is a powerful thing, to carry a child within your womb and give it life, surely the Miko wanted that for herself?
She sighed "I liked it better when you didn't talk," She had said that to him before "It's not that I dont," She dried her hands.
"How is it that you prevent such a thing, perhaps my brother can not produce," That was silly of course, of course he could.
She blushed "Well, um, you see, ugh I liked it better when you didn't talk!" She huffed and walked off, then she turned around "Wait, do I need to have the birds and bees talk with you?" She seemed shocked and he did not understand what she meant,
"Your words make no sense to me woman."
"About how babies are made!" She snapped,
He scoffed, what an insult "No woman Im quite aware of such things,"
She raised an eyebrow "Then answer your own question"!
Then she left and he thought.
The half-breed pulled out, he would never fill her. His nose lifted to one side, how could one who is married not want to? He knew if he was mated the bitch would be pregnant that next day.
