Ch.29
At Ann's and Bebe's urging, everyone soon boarded the plane and they were in the air not five minutes later.
The plane was a private jet owned by Cross Industries, that Shego was piloting following the course Wade set for them. Beside Yori keeping Shego company in the pilot's cabin everyone was seated in the main compartment with Amy getting the honor to keep Ron company on the two person seat.
"Can't believe I lost to scissors." Muttered Bonnie.
"Believe it girlfriend." Said Monique then added. "At least it wasn't to rock."
"Yeah, the most likely used." Sighed Tara who had beaten Monique.
As can be guessed Tara had lost to Bonnie's paper when she tried her tactic a second time. Ann lost to Amy after matching three papers and two scissors to a rogue rock. Yori chose to accompany Shego and Bonnie lost to scissors when she tried paper as her opponents had won to rock and she figured it worked on Tara so why not. Thus, Amy got the honor to seat with Ron on the two person seat. Like everyone wanted, Amy had laid Ron onto her lap and was playing with his hair.
"So when are you telling us where we are going Wade?" Asked Ann.
"Southern France to a little getaway spot I sent my parents to on their last anniversary." Wade answered. "Don't worry, it's safe and has state of the art facilities. They were between bookings since their very selective on who they allowed into the property. They only allowed us in since they believe they owe Ron."
"And why would they be under that impression?" Tara asked.
"Quite simply, Ron changed their lives to such a degree that they practically see him as their benefactor." Wade said. "The Neuro Linker was the answer to their every prayer."
"Yeah, Ron's Neuro Linker technology has, is and will continue changing the lives of many, their's being one of them." Bonnie said.
"And he only did it to help." Tara agreed.
With Tara's words there was a collective sigh as Bonnie, Monique, Tara, Ann and Amy seem to fall ever deeper in love with Ron.
Shego and Yori had a light conversation among themselves as Shego piloted that was only interrupted when they were ten minutes from their destination. They had talked at length about possible names for their children but got nowhere since they both hoped for Ron's input.
Once the jet was on the private airport runway everyone went onto a waiting bus that would take them to their destination but this time Shego and Yori got to pamper Ron, since they had opted out on the flight.
When the two, who had more experience with Ki, were next to Ron they quickly noticed that his body was actively gathering Ki at a rate that should be impossible for someone unconscious. Yori and Shego exchange looks and then ask Bebe if Ron's conscious to which she replies he isn't.
"This is odd, wonder what Ron's up to?" Shego said.
"He might be currently trying to heal subconsciously." Yori suggested and added. "At least we know he's not in danger."
"True." Shego agreed.
Five minutes later, their destination came into view and Shego, along with Yori, got Ron onto a stretcher that their host had prepared. Then as Ron, Makoto and Akito are being steered inside what can only be described as a luxurious villa/resort Sae, Shego and Yori were carefully scrutinizing for danger.
Once inside the main building they turned to the left wing and found it to be a state of the art hospital room that if needed could double as an operating room. It had everything for any impromptu operation or relaxing day recuperating.
Just inside the room stood a couple doctors that were already expecting them and quickly issued instructions to the staff steering the stretchers. The doctors then asked a couple questions about Akito's blood type and were quick to set up a blood transfusion for him, then asked about Makoto's condition before directing staff for an x-ray just for a precaution before setting him to the side for observation. When it came to Ron the doctors insisted that he go through the full check up as they wouldn't be able to forgive themselves if anything were to happen to their benefactor.
After running Ron through every test they could and setting him aside to rest, the doctors left their staff in charge of observation and finally walked over with Wade, Sae and Ann as the rest had been asked to leave the room. As they approached each of the ladies who had observed through the Neuro Linker via a feed that Bebe provided were extorting Bebe to be notified if there was a change with Ron of any kind.
"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce Doctors Alfredo and Susan Dubois." Wade announced then introduced everyone from Felix to his girlfriend.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Dr. Susan Dubois or Susan as she insisted they call her greeted. "And I apologize on behalf of my husband and I that it took so long for introductions but knowing that Mr. Stoppable was hurt we simply could not do otherwise."
"That's right, for Mr. Stoppable we had no choice but to offend." Dr. Alfredo Dubois or as he insisted AL, added.
"You don't need to worry, we not only understand but would have asked of you the same." Shego lay their concerns to rest.
"Your dedication and concern is an honor to us." Yori added.
"They are right, our priority were the injured and you saw to that personally, we couldn't have asked for more." Felix agreed.
As everyone was talking and assuring their host that no offense was made, Susan and AL led them towards the right wing of the building and a dining room, first door on the left. Shortly after everyone entered, a boy no older than ten ran in and embraced their hosts.
"Hahaha thanks for waiting for us champ." AL said to the boy as Susan whispered something to him.
Nodding the boy straightened his back and turned to look at everyone else in the room. "Hello, my name is Richard Dubois, it is a pleasure to meet you all."
Wade was the first to respond after having noticed that Richard was wearing a Neuro Linker model to help see and hear. Then, he proceeded to introduce everyone on their side to the boy. After introductions, Wade asked. "That reminds me, is it okay for one more family member to come stay with us?"
"That should be fine, when can we expect them to arrive?" Asked Susan.
"Early tomorrow morning." Wade replied having already set up Mrs. Renton's transport.
"Now that everyone is here let us enjoy our meal then we can show you to your rooms." AL suggested.
When Ron's consciousness returned from complete unconsciousness to a degree of awareness he found himself in his mindscape.
At first he hadn't realized that it was his mindscape as all he could see around him led him to believe he was high in the mountains though he could not recognize them for the life of him, which was weird since he'd been to them all throughout his missions. Then, it came to him, like a switch turning that these are mountains how they'd been millennia long ago during Xu Ming Yue's travels across the world. These mountains would now be located at Tianmen Mountain China, at the time it was called Tiantang de Baolei and looked completely different. Additionally they were the stronghold of a group that worshipped beings foreign to our world as gods. After a battle where Yue tried to stop the sacrifices of children by these worshippers, these mountains would forever change.
As Ron wondered why he was in these mountains, he recalled Yue's memories of her time there. That battle had pushed her to the limits and only by breaking past them was she able to emerge victorious though at great cost. First, the worshippers refused to stop their practices and even as they battled against Yue their leader would continue sacrificing the children, believing it was a test from their gods to prove their faith. Second, as Yue tried her best to stop them and save the children she was forced to go at full power throughout the fight and couldn't afford to pace herself, she was exhausted within two hours, having failed to save a single child as the worshippers continued to throw themselves at her. Third and lastly, Yue gained enlightenment in her Ki control, realizing that although dangerous with a focused will one could gather, assimilate and use Ki even while in combat, not having to be restricted to meditation. With that breakthrough, Yue would spend the next months eradicating the worshippers and the signs of their beliefs, so that none would follow in their footsteps.
As Ron was immersed in the memories and seeing the pain it brought Yue to see children paying the price for the beliefs of others, he realized why he was there. In a different setting, Ron had achieved the same, though he hadn't meant to attempt it, as the risks of ending his journey as a cultivator and his life were high. But he had done it and it will open a new door in his journey as a cultivator, giving him near inexhaustible access to Ki. Now Ron would be able to use and recharge his Ki simultaneously and on top of that it would be like he was training 24/7, the progress he is going to make will be multiple times that of others.
As Ron focused and made sure that this method of Ki control became like second nature and as natural as possible, he let his senses expand as he began to train his forms of Tai Shing Pek Kwar and even adjusting his plans to stop crime and corruption. It got to the point that the time dilation was at 12 hours to 1 while he was in his mindscape from the amount of energy his body had access to and it showed signs of continued increase. When Ron realized this he made a conscious effort to stop the progression of the time dilation and focused on expanding and reinforcing his mindscape.
At this point, Ron is not ashamed to admit he got sidetracked. He spent the next 12 hours on his mindscape and ended up making a replica of earth though as it would be without human pollution and overpopulation. The world looked resplendent and shone with vitality. Then, Ron focused and brought the moon into being, the satellite would serve as a monitoring system for intrusion into his mindscape.
With that done, Ron allowed his consciousness to stir him awake.
Ron woke up in an unfamiliar setting but wasn't surprised since he remembered they were en route to a safe location when he passed out. Realizing that he was in some sort of hospital, Ron looked around and saw his Neuro Linker charging at his side and greeted Bebe knowing that she would be monitoring him. "Morning Bebe."
"It's actually noon, Ron." Bebe corrected before adding. "Glad to see you awake."
"How long was I out this time?" Ron asked and his voiced carried a hint of concern.
"Only a day, Ron." Bebe soothed when she noticed his vitals briefly spike. "I've alerted everyone that you're conscious so they'll be in momentarily."
"Thanks Bebe, you rock." Ron said grateful for everything she does for him.
As he waited, Ron observed the condition of his body and his Ki control. 'Everything in working order, perfect!' Ron thought as the door was opened and his ladies came in. In the lead was Monique followed close behind by Tara and Bonnie who were just a step ahead of Ann, Amy, Shego and Yori. Then, Wade followed up with the twins, his girlfriend and her parents followed by Zita, Felix and Mrs. Renton. Wade's parents entered a moment later with their hosts.
As Ron was being showered in lots of affection, he noticed every entry into the room and prompted the girls for introductions to the Dubois.
"Dr's Dubois, I'm Ronald Dean Stoppable and it is my honor to be in your home." Ron introduced himself and thanked them for their hospitality but just as he was moving the topic towards compensation he was cut off.
"Mr. Stoppable it's Susan and AL, please set aside formalities and make yourself at home. As the honor is ours to have you here there's no need to further complicate things." Susan quickly interrupted when she saw Ron's overly formal behavior, AL nodding at her side.
Seeing this, Ron grinned and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "Sorry about that and I strongly hope you'd call me Ron, it's what friends and family are allowed and you've proven yourselves friends."
Ron saw Susan's and AL's eyes expand at his offer and nod seriously at his trust.
"You won't regret it Ron!" AL spoke for both of them.
Smiling Ron nodded then asked. "How are Akito and Makoto?"
"Makoto woke up early this morning and there were no abnormalities to his health." Ann clarified having run a few tests on his brain. "As for Akito, he woke up during the night and besides feeling lightheaded his tests show his on the road to recovery."
Sighing, Ron said. "That's great!"
"Now Ron, it's time to run a few test to be on the safe side and then you too can be up and about." Susan suggested and everyone nodded in agreement. "Doctor's orders."
"With pleasure." Ron agreed.
After exiting the room with the other friends, family and lovers of Ron, Shego turned to Yori and spoke to her telepathically.
"Did Ron seem to be drawing a tide of Ki towards himself just now?" Shego asked.
Yori didn't take even a split second to answer. "Yes, but it should be impossible to do so out of meditation."
"Guess we can only ask him." Shego sighed and waited with everyone as they chatted.
An hour and a half after continous tests Ron came walking out with the doctors and Akito who got the okay to leave the medical wing to the relief of everyone. There were hugs and thank yous to Akito for keeping them safe and then to Makoto and Sae when they appeared.
Feeling like a great weight was lifted off his shoulders at his family and friends not being traumatized from the experience, Ron suggested. "How about a meal by yours truly?"
"Sorry Ron but a late lunch should be served in the dining room by now." AL explained.
"Dinner is on me and I won't take no for an answer." Ron stated to the laughter of those around him.
"Okay, but for now follow me." Susan said as she lead them to the dining room.
Ron soon met Richard and smiled proudly at having helped him have a normal life. Then he noticed that the atmosphere was of fun and laughter and he couldn't help but smile, this moment was what Ron pictured for his life.
With that thought Ron decided to take a step forward tonight.
After lunch, everyone gathered in a spacious living room and talked. It didn't take long for Shego, Yori, Sae, Makoto and Akito to corner Ron and ask about the constant flow of Ki around him.
"I really don't know how to explain it properly but I'll try." Ron said and took a moment to collect his thoughts. "As you all know when we gather and refine Ki we do so while sitting still in meditation." Ron began and watched them nod. "This is commonly known as the only safe way to gather and refine Ki since the level of focus required for the process is extreme. Now my master, Xu Ming Yue, managed to move a step further in a long and drawn out battle where she had no choice but to gather and refine Ki as she fought. It was by no means easy and her attempts led to injuries at first but she had pushed on like a toddler learning to walk. In simpler terms she taught her subconscious to gather and refine her Ki without her focused thoughts, like moving our limbs without conscious thought but just intent. For me it was much the same as I was pushed by need to get back to you guys." Ron concluded then added. "See what I mean, it's not easy to explain."
"Like learning to walk, huh." Yori muttered lost in her thoughts like the others.
"Hey if you guys are gonna try it you should at least have someone that can heal you around. As for Yori and Shego I highly recommend waiting until after giving birth." Ron suggested seeing them in their thoughts.
"You're right, Ron." Shego agreed though Ron could see her irritation at having to wait.
"How about I provide a safe environment to practice?" Ron suggested.
"How? Where?" Akito asked.
"Conquest!" Ron answered all of them. "I can test whether it's possible to learn it since I've done so and teach you or let you observe."
"Okay, where can we..." Makoto began asking but was interrupted by Bonnie.
"What has you all so secretive?" Bonnie asked and by her side were Tara, Monique, Amy, Ann, Wade and pretty much everyone else.
"We are going to Conquest and learning directly from Ron." Sae explained. "Since it's a safe environment to train our Ki since the damage received can easily be healed."
"What are you going to be learning and can we tag along?" Felix asked this time.
"May we know what your master named this technique, Ron?" Akito asked as respectfully as possible.
"Well, she never did name it but I'm partial to Full Ki Control." Ron answered, adding. "And yes you can join us."
Richard looked at his mom and dad with a pleading look, silently asking for help to join Ron as everyone was getting comfortable on the couches and seats to log in.
Just as his dad was going to ask Ron walked over and asked. "Do you guys play Conquest?"
"We do in fact and Richard here is in the cultivation academy at Lorehold where we practice our craft." Susan answered.
"Perfect, log-in and we'll meet at the plaza before heading somewhere private." Ron suggested.
"Great, well be there soon." Richard called out rushing to an empty seat by the twins.
Turns out it was feasible to train the technique in Conquest, though the process was quite something.
Ron had started by simply trying to cultivate while standing and thankfully it only took him a few minutes to get the hang of it. Then came the hard part, while in motion. Taking a deep breath Ron started and to everyone's shock puked a mouthful of blood.
"Ron!" Everyone called out.
"It's okay just a minor mishap." Ron soothed and healed himself. "Tried my normal pace and it overwhelmed my body."
Not half an hour later Ron was practicing his Tai Shin Pek Qwar while training his Ki, leaving everyone awed at his abilities as they'd seen the step by step process of the technique.
"Now who wants to try?" Ron asked and nearly everyone jumped up. "I see, but I suggest we do this one by one since the damage you'll receive if anything goes wrong is no joke."
"Okay." Everyone agreed.
"Ron, if it's healing you require we can help." AL and Susan suggested.
"As can I." Sae added.
"Very well, let's try." Ron agreed and the training started.
"Gah!" Choked out Akito as he coughed blood after receiving internal damage.
Sae and Ron were next to him in an instant. As they were healing him Ron noticed that Sae's healing technique wasn't up to par with his own and decided to rectify that but for now.
"Akito try first going from the lotus position to standing instead of starting on your feet. Remember your trying to teach your body something that you believed till recently was impossible. Start gathering Ki and getting comfortable before relaxing your focus and holding a conversation with Makoto before trying the next step." Ron advised and after watching the man nod turned to Sae. "Sae would you like to learn my master's healing technique?"
"Ron-san are you really willing to teach such a precious technique to me?" Sae asked stunned.
"Of course, relax your mind a bit and I'll pass to you the technique and you can take advantage of this opportunity to learn it." Ron explained.
"Hai!" Exclaimed an excited Sae.
Ron brought his finger to her forehead and it glowed briefly with Ki before Sae felt a flood of information enter her mind. After ten seconds, Sae processed the information and as she was trying review it they heard Makoto scream. He and Akito had been conversing, Akito while seating and Makoto while standing and maintaining his Ki control until he faced a backlash.
As AL and Susan healed him, Ron asked. "Did you noticed what went wrong?"
"My mind strayed too far and I couldn't control the direction the Ki flowed." Makoto surmised.
"Don't rush it since this ability is like rewiring your brain, to be learned you'll need to give it time." Ron soothed and added. "So far your progress has been the highest so don't dwell on small setbacks.
Makoto nodded and focused his mind to control his Ki before resuming his conversation with Akito. As they talked everyone observed attentively the progress they made, especially the twins and Richard.
As they progressed and everyone eagerly awaited their turn Ron was asked by Sae. "Ron-san why don't you impart the technique for Ki control as you did the healing technique?"
"You thought of that faster than I thought it but the answer is simple. This Ki control method is not a technique it is simply teaching the body how to use a new limb. I can give you all the theoretical knowledge but in the end you'll learn it by trial and error, it's intuitive. Do you know how to ride a bike?." Seeing Sae nod Ron continued. "You were giving instructions and advice but how did you learn it? You just kept trying." Ron explained.
"I see." Sae quietly muttered.
"Yeah." Ron sighed then looked at AL and Susan and went to teach them his master's healing technique.
Half an hour later, with both Makoto and Akito standing, talking and trying to move around the next pair, er, three came up. The twins and Richard stepped forward when NEXT was called.
"Right then..." Ron said and as Richard blushed and was about to step back Ron said. "Richard with me, the twins with Susan and AL." Richard looked up excited that he could really go and ran with a movement technique to Ron. "I want you guys to start seated and begin the proper flow of Ki gathering before trying to hold a conversation with each other." At Ron's instructions they started.
Over the next fifteen hours Ron managed to go over everyone including Susan and AL. Once they got the hang of the initial steps without further inflicting injury on themselves they took a break back in the real world where Ron confided the true purpose for Conquest with the Dubois. The Drs were understandably shocked while Richard instantly believed what Ron claimed. After a demonstration of the truth Ron asked them to keep it a secret but tested and imparted the most suitable techniques to cultivate for each. After that, while most practiced their Ki gathering and trying to complete a cycle Ron set to work on dinner.
Ron had just disappeared into the kitchen when Master Sensei astral projected to his side.
"Stoppable-san I am glad that you're awake, I feared for your safety for a moment." Master Sensei spoke and nearly scared Ron into throwing a knife through his astral body.
"Ahhh!" Ron yelled having spun around to face him. "You concealed your Ki." Ron accused.
"Indeed I did." Master Sensei chuckled.
Shaking his head Ron turned back to cooking. "Any new Intel to share Sensei?"
"Not at the moment Stoppable-san but I do have a request." Master Sensei spoke.
"Shoot." Ron said while cutting some vegetables.
"Can I and a few selected students of Yamanouchi learn this passive Ki gathering method you've discovered?" Master Sensei asked.
"I don't see why not." Ron said easily agreeing then asked. "Do you have a Conquest account?"
"I must admit I do." Master Sensei admitted.
"It's okay if you don't but I highly recomm... you do?" Ron asked after speaking for a bit.
"Yes, the Neuro Linker has revolutionized everything in the modern day even training at Yamanouchi." Master Sensei admitted.
"Awesome, then, can you get to Lorehold with the students and after dinner you can join us to train." Ron suggested.
"It would be our honor." Master Sensei bowed to Ron before dissipating his Astral form.
After Ron got focused back on dinner, Bebe called out to him. "Ron."
"Bebe?" Ron asked adding. "Everything okay?"
"Do you think... Yue's reincarnation technique could work for me?" Bebe asked quietly.
Her question caused Ron to pause in his dinner preparations. Then the realization that he thought of Bebe as 'her' for the longest caused him to smile.
"I'll admit, I am not a hundred percent sure but I got a feeling it would." Ron answered. "Do you want us to try?"
"... I ... I'm not sure." Bebe replied and added. "I constantly find myself remembering Yue and wonder if I could have reincarnated with her."
"You miss her." Ron said.
"I do." Bebe confirmed. "She was my friend. I enjoyed our time together and didn't think it would end."
"Yeah." Ron sighed. "I thought she was going to accompany me for the rest of my life once I got used to her presence."
"Do you think she managed to reincarnate?" Bebe asked.
"Absolutely." Ron said with conviction.
At dinner as everyone ate and talked merrily and after Ron mentioned Master Sensei joining them for training, Amy couldn't take her eyes off of Ron. He was like gravity for the people around him and his 'Ronshine' seemed to always make everyone happy.
Smiling much like everyone at the table, Amy took a short video for her digital scrapbook. She wanted to be able to look back on moments like these. As dessert was being eaten she sent a message to Yori, Ann, Monique, Shego, Tara and Bonnie.
Amy: Do you ladies mind if I have Ron to myself tonight?
Ann: Seeing as you're the first to mention it I don't see why not.
Monique: Finally making things official, go for it.
At Monique's reply Amy blushed and after making eye contact with her nodded.
Yori: Enjoy yourself Amy-san.
Shego: Rock his world.
Tara: Yeah!
Bonnie: Try not to pass out.
At Bonnie's reply Amy tilted her head and looked at her but Bonnie simply showed a knowing smile.
Amy: Thanks!
After dinner everyone logged back in to Conquest and joined by Master Sensei continued or learned the passive Ki gathering method.
Speaking of Master Sensei he proved that his mind wasn't stuck in traditional cultivation methods as he quickly caught up and surpassed everyone Ron was previously teaching.
"I must admit you are showing remarkable flexibility with your beliefs Sensei, way to go!" Ron called out when Sensei began practicing katas before anyone else.
"I too must admit my surprise, Stoppable-san." Master Sensei admitted.
Ron continued going around healing those that made mistakes while Sae and the Dubois' parents started practicing and switching places with other healers Sensei brought along. A couple hours later those that accompanied Ron logged off to do other things as it was getting late.
Just as Ron was about to ask where he was sleeping for the night, Amy stopped in front of him.
"Hey Amy." Ron said noticing her nervous demenour. "Everything okay?"
"I was wondering if you'd accompany me tonight?" Amy asked after taking a deep breath.
"Sure, just let me wish good night to everyone first." Ron easily agreed.
"Great!" Amy said equal parts relieved and excited.
Ron didn't linger and bid everyone good night with either kisses, hugs or handshakes. Then joined Amy heading to her room.
As Kim trailed Ron and Amy upstairs, her mind a mess, a call came through her Neuro Linker from her boyfriend.
"Hey Mike, sorry for not keeping in touch the last few days but things were a bit hectic." Kim greeted and explained.
"Kim, I'm so glad you're okay." Mike nearly yelled at the same time as Kim.
After understanding what Mike had said, Kim spent the next few minutes soothing and assuring him that not only was she okay but her mom and brothers were as well. Mike then proceeded to ask how she ended up appearing on the press conference for the Neuro Linker days prior and Kim explained that the creator was her mom's boyfriend and her childhood friend.
"Your childhood friend invented the Neuro Linker!" Mike exclaimed in surprise. "Can you get me an autograph?"
"I'll ask." Kim said with a smile while looking at Ron and Amy enter her room. Sighing unconsciously Kim continued to her room, finally noticing the odd look Mike was giving her.
"Kim is everything alright?" Mike asked.
Kim looked into Mike's eyes and saw his concern. Keeping eye contact Kim answered. "Had you asked me that a few days ago I would have said yes without hesitation, but lately I've been feeling lost."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Mike asked.
Kim bit her bottom lip lightly as she thought about it.
"It's about us, isn't it?" Mike asked and from Kim lowering her head he knew he was right. "Do you want to break up?"
"No!" Kim spoke loudly and for the first time in days she was sure about what she wanted. "No I don't want to break up but I do have to apologize to you. The reason I'm so confused at the moment is because I found myself lusting after another man and it got in my head."
Releasing a breath he didn't realize he was holding, Mike smiled and spoke. "Kim, it's normal to find people that you find attractive besides your partner but just as long as it stays appreciation you did nothing wrong."
Relaxing Kim smiled and teased. "So Mr Owen's has APPRECIATED other women himself, I see."
Rolling with the teasing, Mike admitted. "That would be the case Ms Possible."
"Do I know them?" Kim asked narrowing her eyes slightly.
That reaction made Mike sweat a bit as he thought of how best to answer without upsetting Kim. Then he noticed the slight twitch of Kim's lips and said. "Not funny Kim but no you don't know them."
"Sorry I couldn't resist." Kim apologized.
After that Kim spent the next three hours talking with Mike till she fell asleep.
Three hours earlier in Amy's room.
Amy was a little nervous after letting Ron into her room and locking the door. They would be intimate for the first time and she worried if he would enjoy it.
"Do you mind if I shower first?" Ron suddenly asked causing Amy to jump.
"Y-yes, I mean no!" Amy stuttered, adding. "I was thinking the same. Ah, not that you smell or anything but so that we're both more comfortable."
