The sight of Tommy's tearstained face broke something inside of Buck. "What do you need, Tommy?" he gently asked his boyfriend.
"For someone to love me anyway," the sobbing Tommy honestly responded. His walls had come completely down and he stood bare and vulnerable in front of Buck in a way he never had with anyone before.
Buck gasped then surged forward, crushing Tommy into a hug. The fact that he hadn't even told Tommy about that fight with his parents yet made this all the more haunting. "I do love you anyway, baby. I promise," he wept into his chest.
Years of experience had taught Tommy otherwise but he'd try to believe him. "Love you too, Evan."
