Wallace Cup Battle Stage (Part Two)
It was the next day of the Wallace Cup, after a free breakfast at the restaurant after Lincoln and Stella won another tag battle against Roman and Kylie; Lincoln, his family, the McBrides, the Zhaus, the Sharp siblings, along with Dawn and her mother, all went to the Lake Valor Contest Hall for the next round of the Wallace Cup's Battle Stage.
"You two ready for this?" asked Lori.
"I sure am, Lori." said Stella.
"I'll bet I'm more ready than you are." said Dawn.
"We'll see about that." said Stella.
"Save that energy for the contest, you two." said Dawn's mother.
"Good idea." said Dawn.
"I can't wait to see more battles." said Lynn Jr. "They're a lot more interesting than all that showing off stuff."
"You would think that." said Lori.
"Hey, Dee-Dee." everyone hears Kenny call out to Dawn; they turned to see Kenny walking over to them.
"For the hundredth millionth time, stop calling me that!" exclaimed Dawn.
"Relax; anyway, I'll be watching you." Kenny says to Dawn.
"To find ways to beat me next time we face each other in a Pokemon Contest?" asked Dawn.
"Uh, yeah." replied Kenny, blushing; he turns and runs to the direction of the contest hall. Everyone else begins walking down the direction of the contest hall.
Everyone soon arrived at the contest hall where Stella and Dawn go to the backstage area, but not before Stella gives Lincoln a kiss.
Soon, after all the coordinators got into their outfits, and all the spectators were seated, the Wallace Cup was ready to continue.
"Ladies and gentlemen." said Marian from the center of the stage. "We are here for the next round of the Wallace Cup's Battle Stage. Who will make it to the semifinals? Let's find out right now."
Two image started flashing on the contest hall's main screen until it stops on Dawn and a woman in a lime green evening gown.
"Our first battle of today's Wallace Cup Battle Stage, it's Dawn vs Natalie." said Marian. "Let the second round of the Battle Stage begin!"
Moments later, Dawn and Natalie stood on opposite ends of the battlefield; they each pull out a pokeball.
"Go, Sunflora!" said Natalie, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Pokemon that resembled a large sunflower with leaflike arms and a pair of feet, followed by yellow flower petals. Lincoln points his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Sunflora, the Sun Pokemon and the evolved form of Sunkern. It gets energy from warm sunlight and is known for its habit of moving in pursuit of it." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Typhlosion, spotlight!" said Dawn, throwing a pokeball and releasing her Typhlosion, followed by a burst of red flames. "Okay, Typhlosion, use Ember followed by Flame Wheel!" Typhlosion releases embers from her mouth and charges at Sunflora while fire surrounded her body alongside Ember; she rams into Sunflora while the embers hits it, dealing super effective damage, and causing Natalie to lose points due to her Sunflora taking damage, and Dawn using an impressive combination.
"Sunflora, use Razor Leaf followed by Double-Edge!" said Natalie. Sunflora swings one of its leaf arms, releasing leaves from it; Sunflora then charges at Typhlosion while its body glowed gold and rams her, followed by Razor Leaf hitting Typhlosion, causing Dawn to lose points due to Natalie doing a combination attack. Sunflora receives recoil damage caused by Double-Edge.
"Typhlosion, use Ember followed by Quick Attack!" said Dawn. Typhlosion releases more embers from her mouth at Sunflora before charging at it with incredible speed; she rams Sunflora while the embers hits it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking Sunflora out.
"Due to Sunflora being unable to battle, Typhlosion wins." said Marian. "Dawn will advance to the next round of the Wallace Cup."
"Yippee!" cheered Dawn. Everyone in the audience cheered and applauded.
"Way to go, Dawn!" said Luna.
"She was incredible." said Lola.
"She certainly was." said Johanna.
The next round was Stella against a girl her age, wearing a yellow blouse, a long, light orange skirt, with matching shoes.
"The next round of the Wallace Cup will be Stella vs Katherine." said Marian.
"Bellossom, time to shine." said Katherine as she takes a pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing a green humanoid Pokemon with two red flowers on its head, wearing a skirt made of green and yellow leaves, in a flurry of green leaves.
"She's so cute!" said Lola. Lincoln points his pokedex at the Pokemon identified as a Bellossom.
"Bellossom, the Flower Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Oddish. When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"I WANT ONE!" shouts Lola.
"I'll put it on my list of Pokemon to get." said Lincoln.
"You'd better!" said Lola.
"Lola, indoor voice." said Rita.
"Mom, no one in our family, literally, has an 'indoor voice'." said Lori.
"Good point." said Rita.
"Okay, Eevee, it's showtime!" said Stella as she takes a pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Eevee in a blast of confetti. "Now use Swift, followed by Quick Attack!" Her Eevee releases a bunch of stars from her body before moving quickly through them, making the stars trail behind her body; Eevee slams into Bellossom, along with the Swift attack, dealing damage to the flower Pokemon, along with taking a good chunk of Katherine's points away, partly for her Bellossom taking damage, and for Stella using an appealing combination of moves.
"Bellossom, Petal Dance!" said Katherine. Bellossom starts spinning around, releasing flower petals from its body.
"So pretty." said Leni.
"Hey, we're supporting Stella." said Lincoln.
"Sorry, but it is." said Leni.
The flower petals hit Eevee, dealing damage, and lowering Stella's points.
"Using that move was a mistake." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, she hurt your girlfriend's Pokemon." said Lori with a grin, making Lincoln look away with a smile and blush.
"That, and another reason." said Lincoln.
"Eevee, use Baby-Doll Eyes!" said Stella. Eevee gives Bellossom a sparkling gaze, lowering its attack power. Suddenly, Bellossom spins again and releases another flurry of petals that hits Eevee, doing damage, and decreasing Stella's points; Katherine's points also go down.
"I didn't say use Petal Dance!" said Katherine.
"Petal Dance keeps being used for a while." said Lincoln. "And Katherine will keep losing points because her Bellossom's using the same move at least twice in a row."
"Eevee, use Tackle!" said Stella. Her Eevee charges at Bellossom and rams into it, dealing damage, and lowering Katherine's points some more. Bellossom releases another flurry of petals again.
"Stop that!" said Katherine as the flower petals hit Eevee, dealing damage, and lowering Stella's points, as well as Katherine's; Bellossom starts to stumble around.
"What's wrong with Bellossom?" asked Rita.
"A side effect of using Petal Dance." said Lincoln. "After it's done, the Pokemon that used it becomes confused."
"Eevee, use Swift!" said Stella. Her Eevee releases another barrage of stars that hit Bellossom, dealing damage, and causing Katherine to lose more points.
"Bellossom, hurry and use Giga Drain!" said Katherine. Bellossom tries to attack, but it trips over its own feet and falls facefirst onto the ground, dealing damage to itself, and causing Katherine to lose her remaining points due to Bellossom taking damage, and a failed attack.
"Katherine has run out of points!" said Marian. "The winner of the match is Stella and Eevee!"
"She won!" said Lincoln as the audience roared with applause.
"We did it, Eevee!" said Stella as Eevee leaps into her arms and nuzzles her trainer's face.
"That was so awesome!" said Lana.
"Now Stella's in the semifinals!" said Mrs. Zhau.
The next round was Zoey facing a boy with a black pompadour, wearing a dark blue disco suit and black elevator shoes.
"Ugh; that coordinator's outfit is a definite no." said Leni, looking at Zoey's opponent with disgust.
"The next round of the Wallace Cup is Zoey vs Elias!" said Marian. Zoey and Elias each pull out a pokeball.
"Glameow, go!" said Zoey, throwing a pokeball and releasing her Glameow, followed by red confetti.
"Go, Poochyena!" said Elias, throwing a pokeball and releasing a quadrupedal, hyenalike Pokemon with gray fur and a black face, followed by black smoke. Sam points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Poochyena, the Bite Pokemon. A Pokémon with a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted." said Sam's pokedex.
"Glameow, use Fake Out!" said Zoey. Glameow leaps at Poochyena and lands in front of it; Glameow then claps its paws together, releasing a shockwave that hits Poochyena, damaging it, and making it flinch; Elias loses points. "Now use Iron Tail!" Glameow's tail turns into metal and it strikes Poochyena with it, knocking it back, and causing Elias to lose more points.
"Poochyena, use Assurance!" said Elias. Poochyena charges at Glameow while dark energy surrounded its body and it rams Glameow, knocking it back, and causing Zoey to lose points.
"Assurance's power doubles if the Pokemon that used it gets hit before it uses that move." said Lincoln.
"Glameow, use Thunderbolt!" said Zoey. Glameow releases a bolt of electricity from its body and it hits Poochyena, damaging it, and causing Elias to lose points.
"Poochyena, use Crunch!" said Elias. Poochyena lunges at Glameow while its fangs glowed white and bites Glameow, dealing damage to it, and causing Zoey to lose points; Glameow begins to slump.
"What's wrong with Glameow?" asked Luan.
"Crunch sometimes weakens a Pokemon's defense." said Lincoln.
"Glameow, use Shock Wave!" said Zoey. A ball of electricity forms at the end of Glameow's tail and a beam of electricity fires out of it and it hits Poochyena, knocking it out.
"Since Poochyena is unable to battle, Glameow wins." said Marian. "Zoey will move on to the semi-finals of the Wallace Cup."
"Great job, Glameow." said Zoey. The audience cheered at Zoey while clapping their hands.
"Man, that was great!" said Simon.
"It was; I wish Glameow was a black cat though." said Lucy.
"Glameow's still wonderful." said Lola. After the last battle was over, the quarterfinals of the Wallace Cup has ended.
Later, at the lobby, Stella and Dawn were being congratulated by everyone else.
"You were wonderful out there, Stella." said Mrs. Zhau.
"We're so proud of you." said Mr. Zhau.
"I'm proud of you too, Dawn." said Johanna.
"Thanks, Mom." said Dawn.
"I can't wait for tomorrow." said Stella.
"Who do you think your opponents will be?" asked Lincoln, making Stella and Dawn look at each other, then at Zoey who was nearby.
"We might be going up against each other." said Dawn.
"That was always a possibility from the start." said Stella.
"Whatever happens, just do your best and have fun." said Johanna.
"We will." said Stella and Dawn in unison.
The quarterfinals of the Wallace Cup Battle Stage have come to an end. Who will Stella, Dawn, and Zoey battle against in the seminfinals? What will happen next as Lincoln's Sinnoh adventures continue?
