Wallace Cup Battle Stage (Part Four)
It is the final day of the Wallace Cup; after another free breakfast at the Seven Stars Restaurant, the Louds, the McBrides, the Zhaus, the Sharp siblings, Dawn, and Johanna are walking to the stadium where Dawn and Stella both plan on winning their next ribbon. Lincoln and Stella held hands while Dawn looked at them with a frown on her face.
"I'm so proud of you, Dawn; you're in the final round of the Wallace Cup." said Johanna.
"Thanks, Mom; and I plan on leaving with the Aqua Ribbon in my ribbon case." said Dawn.
"Don't count on it, Dawn; if anyone's going to win the Aqua Ribbon, it's going to be me." said Stella. She and Dawn glared at each other before turning away. Moments later, they were in front of the stadium entrance; Dawn sees Kenny standing near the entrance.
"Hey, Dee Dee; last day of the Wallace Cup." said Kenny.
"Don't call me that!" exclaimed Dawn.
"I'm just teasing; anyway, you think you'll win?" asked Kenny.
"Dawn's not the one who's going to win; I am." said Stella.
"I'll believe it when I see it." said Kenny. She turned back towards Dawn. "Good luck out there, Dee Dee." He looks at Dawn for a few seconds, blushing, before walking into the stadium. Dawn lets out a sigh.
"Come on; let's get going." said Dawn. She and the rest of the group soon entered the stadium.
Later, in one of the changing rooms, Dawn was putting on her choker after changing into the rest of her contest attire while looking at a mirror.
"I hope I can win this; I'll admit, Stella is a skilled coordinator and making it to the final round, but I won't lose to her." said Dawn. A female stage manager walks into the room.
"Pardon me; the Battle Stage will begin in ten minutes." said the stage manager.
"Thank you." said Dawn. After the stage manager leaves, Dawn looks into a mirror and pats her cheeks. "Relax, Dawn; no need to worry." She turns and walks out of the changing room.
In another changing room, Stella was sliding a red, bead armlet into her arm. After that, she looks at herself in a mirror.
"You can do this, Stella; after you win the Aqua Ribbon, you're one ribbon away from competing in the Grand Festival." said Stella. The stage manager pokes her head into the changing room.
"Excuse me; the Battle Stage will begin in ten minutes." said the stage manager.
"Okay." said Stella. The stage manager walks away; Stella looks at herself and smirks before wiggling her hips. "Wish Lincoln was here to see that." She then leaves the changing room.
At the stage area, the Louds, the McBrides, the Zhaus, the Sharp siblings, and Johanna were sitting in the bleachers; Kenny and Zoey were also in the audience.
"This is it; the final round of the Wallace Cup." said Lincoln.
"It was so much fun being here." said Lola. "When I get old enough, I'm coming back to this dimension and compete in Pokemon Contests."
"I'm sure you come up with plenty of combinations by the time that day comes." said Rita.
"I might give gym battles a try when I'm old enough." said Lana. Moments later, Marian walks to the center of the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the day of the final round of the Wallace Cup has finally arrived." said Marina. "Today one of two coordinators will have the chance to win the Aqua Ribbon. Now, lets bring out our two finalists." Dawn and Stella both walk out of seperate tunnels; moments later, both girls were standing on opposite ends of the arena. "On my left, from Sandgem Town, it's Dawn!" Everyone in the audience cheered in applause. "And on my right, also residing in Sandgem Town, it's Stella Zhau!" Everyone begin cheering; a boy in the audience gave Stella a wolf whistle, making Lincoln glare at him.
"I got this." said Lynn Jr before running to the boy. Seconds later, Lynn Jr returned to her seat while the boy who gave the whistle was unconscious with a black eye.
"If both coordinators are ready, let's get the final round of the Wallace Cup underway!" said Marian. She walks off the stage while Dawn and Stella each pull out a pokeball.
"Roserade, you're up!" said Stella, throwing Roserade's pokeball and releases her, followed by a flurry of flower petals.
"Typhlosion, spotlight!" said Dawn, throwing Typhlosion's pokeball and releasing her, followed by a burst of red flames.
"Roserade, Stun Spore!" said Stella. Roserade releases an orange powder from her arm roses at Typhlosion and they enveloped her; Typhlosion begins to twitch.
"Typhlosion's paralyzed." said Clyde.
"Typhlosion, use Flame Wheel!" said Dawn. Unfortunately, paralysis gets the better of Typhlosion and stops his attack, causing Dawn to lose points due to an attack failing.
"Roserade, use Poison Sting!" said Stella. Roserade fires a barrage of purple pins from her arm roses and they hit Typhlosion, dealing damage, and causing Dawn to lose points.
"Typhlosion, use Quick Attack followed by Ember!" said Dawn. Typhlosion fights through her paralysis and charges at Roserade while surrounded by embers; Typhlosion rams into Roserade and deals super effective damage from the Ember attack and causing Stella to lose points due to Roserade taking damage and Dawn using a combination move.
"Roserade, use Magical Leaf followed by Sweet Scent!" said Stella. Roserade jumps up and spins, releasing glowing green leaves followed by a pink powder that sticks to the leaves and they hit Typhlosion, not dealing much damage, but lowering Typhlosion's evasivness, still causing Dawn to lose points due to Typhlosion taking damage and Stella using a combination.
"Typhlosion, use Flame Wheel followed by Smokescreen!" said Dawn. Typhlosion fights through her paralysis and spins towards Roserade while surrounded by fire and smoke and rams into her, dealing super effective damage, and lowering Roserade's accuracy, causing Stella to lose points due to Roserade taking damage and Dawn using another combination.
"Roserade, use Mega Drain followed by Giga Drain!" said Stella. Roserade releases a beam of dark green energy from her red arm rose and a stream of green energy from her blue arm rose and they wrap around Typhlosion, draining some of her energy and healing some of her wounds; Dawn loses points due to Typhlosion taking damage and Stella using a combination.
"Typhlosion, use Swift followed by Flame Charge!" said Dawn. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Typhlosion from attacking; Dawn loses points due to an attack failing.
"Roserade, use Petal Dance followed by Poison Sting!" said Stella. Roserade spins around and releasing pink flower petals and purple pins from her body at Typhlosion; unfortunately, due to her lowered accuracy from Typhlosion's Smokescreen, her attack missed, causing Stella to lose points due to an attack failing.
"Typhlosion, use Flame Wheel, followed by Swift!" said Dawn. Typhlosion fights through her paralysis and charges at Roserade while a wheel of fire surrounded her body followed by stars and she rams Roserade, dealing super effective damage, then the stars also hits Roserade, causing Stella to lose points due to Roserade taking damage and Dawn doing a combination.
"Oh man, this is pretty intense for a contest battle." said Lynn Jr.
"I am, literally, at the edge of my seat." said Lori.
"This is so rad!" said Luna.
"This is really exciting." said Lynn Sr.
"This is so cool." said Zoey.
Back on the battle stage, Roserade and Typhlosion were facing each other, panting.
"Roserade, use Poison Sting followed by Magical Leaf!" said Stella. Roserade fires purple pins from her arm roses and releases glowing green leaves from her body at Typhlosion, hitting her, and dealing damage, casuing Typhloson to lose points.
"Typhlosion, use Flame Charge followed by Ember!" said Dawn. Typhlosion fights through her paralysis and charges at Roserade while fire surrounded her body while surrounded by embers and rams Roserade, dealing super effective damage, and causing Stella to lose points due to Roserade taking damage and Dawn using a combination. Tyhplosion begins surging with energy while fire surrounded Roserade.
"Looks like Typhlosion's speed increased." said Lincoln.
"And it looks like Roserade's burned." said Sam. Roserade flinches in pain from her burn; Roserade falls face first onto the stage, unconscious.
"Roserade!" shouts Stella.
"Roserade is unable, which means Typhlosion wins." said Marian. "The winner of this year's Wallace Cup is Dawn!"
"Yippee!" cheered Dawn. Everyone in the audience roared with applause.
"I'm so proud of Dawn." said Johanna.
"That was amazing!" said Leni.
"Poor Stella." said Mr. Zhau.
"There's alway the next contest." said Mrs. Zhau.
"All right, Dawn." said Kenny. Stella returns Roserade to her pokeball.
"Don't worry, Roserade; you did all you could." said Stella.
Later, on the stage; Wallace was on the stage, with Dawn, holding out a small box that had a white and aquamarine ribbon attached to a gold emblem in it to her.
"In recognition of your victory today; Dawn, I present you with the Aqua Ribbon." said Wallace.
"Thank you." said Dawn as she takes the ribbon out of the box and holds it up high for everyone to see as she cheered in celebration; the Louds, Zhaus, McBrides, the Sharp children, and Johanna all cheered as well.
"Too bad Stella lost." said Lincoln.
"I know you feel bad for your girlfriend, son." said Lynn Sr.
"Maybe you can cheer her up with a kiss." suggested Lori, making Lincoln blush.
Later, in the lobby, everyone was congratulating Dawn on her victory.
"I'm so proud of you, sweetie." said Johanna.
"Thanks, Mom." said Dawn. Stella smiled sadly when she feels a hand on her shoulders; she turns to see Lincoln looking at her with a sympathetic smile.
"You did your best, Stella." said Lincoln.
"There's always next time." said Stella before she kisses Lincoln on the lips, making him blush. "I'll just take that as a consolation prize."
"Let's have lunch together to celebrate." said Rita.
"Sure; I can eat." said Lynn Jr.
"Once Lincoln and Stella win us a free meal." said Lola.
"You got it." said Lincoln.
That afternoon, at the hotel restaurant, everyone was having a free meal; once again, to the annoyance of the staff there. Stella and Dawn each sat next to Lincoln as they ate.
Soon, everyone was in the Grand Underground, where Lisa made a portal back to Royal Woods.
"That was fun." said Rita.
"Maybe we'll come here in person for the next contest." said Lori.
"So what are you kiddos going to do now?" asked Lynn Sr.
"My next stop is Pastoria for my next gym battle." said Lincoln.
"I want to see that." said Lynn Jr.
"We'll let you know when we get there." said Lincoln.
"And keep working hard at your contests, Stella." said Mrs. Zhau.
"I will, Mom." said Stella.
"And take care of your little boyfriend." said Mr. Zhau with a grin.
"Okay." said Stella with a blush.
"And keep looking for more cute Pokemon for me." said Lola.
"I will, Lola." said Lincoln.
Soon, everyone who was heading back to Royal Woods enter the portal and it soon closes.
"Well, should we get back to the surface and start heading to Pastoria?" asked Clyde.
"You know it, little dude." said Sam.
"Let's get going." said Lincoln.
Dawn has defeated Stella and has won the Wallace Cup's Aqua Ribbon. What else awaits the group as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
