A/N Hey all and welcome to the newest chapter of Pokemon Omega Loud! It's finally time for the Slateport City Pokemon Contest! How will the Louds react when they discover that Lincoln is competing as well? Let's find out and once again, I hope you all like this one as much as I did writing it!
The sun was shining brightly upon Slateport City. There was some commotion in the city as today was the day of the Slateport City Pokemon Contest. As such, crowds of people were making their way to the Contest hall. Suddenly a loud shout caused several people to jump in alarm and turn to see our heroes running as if they were being chased by a wild Pokemon.
"OUTTA THE WAY!" cried Lincoln as he, May, and Lana were running as fast as they could towards the contest hall.
"I can't believe Chompy ate our alarm clocks!" said May as they rushed to get to the hall in time.
"I'm sorry!" said Lana as she carried the aforementioned Pokemon. "I have no idea how he got out of his Pokeball!"
"Guys this isn't the time!" yelled Lincoln, "We're going to be late!"
Picking up their pace the three trainers soon saw the Contest Hall in the distance. With a final burst of speed they ran through the entrance and dashed to the front desk.
All three trainers collapsed in a heap as Lincoln crawled to the desk.
"Did we miss-gasp- the start time?" the boy gasped as he struggled to breath.
"Nope. You got here just in time." said the receptionist, "If any contestants want to make their way to the dressing rooms, we'll start in about fifteen minutes."
"Thanks!" Lincoln gasped as he and May struggled to their feet. May went ahead to the dressing room while Lincoln turned back to the receptionist.
"By the way," he began, "I was told there would be an outfit waiting for me from Lisia?"
"Oh you must be Lincoln!" said the receptionist before she reached under the desk and pulled out a paper-wrapped parcel, which she then handed to Lincoln. "Here you go, and good luck with your Contest!"
As Lincoln stepped away from the desk, he noticed that there was a letter on top of the package. Taking it in his hand he saw that it was addressed to him from Lisia and that there was a blue kiss mark on it, which caused him to blush a bit.
As he opened the letter, he failed to notice Lana standing next to him with a smirk on her face as she observed his reaction.
"To Linky!" he read out loud, "Here's the outfit I promised you. I guarantee you'll look amazing in it. Kisses! Lisia."
"Better make sure May doesn't see that," said Lana, causing Lincoln to jump as he hadn't noticed her standing by him.
"Gah! Lana!" he cried, "You'll give Lucy a run for her money if you keep doing that!"
"Sorry big bro, but you should already head to the locker room if you don't want to be late." replied Lana.
Lincoln blinked then quickly rushed to the locker room as Lana sighed in exasperation. Placing Chompy on the ground, Lana quickly dialed home. The watch beeped a few times before connecting, showing the Loud family gathered around the living room.
"Hi Lana!" said Lynn Sr. "Is it time for May's contest?"
Lana nodded, before speaking. "Yup. Lincoln's getting his surprise ready, so I'm going to head to the arena to grab a seat."
"Ooh can I watch it with you?" asked Lola. "I had so much fun last time!"
"Uh..sure? I don't mind." said Lana. Lola then looked to her parents who nodded in permission for their daughter. As Lola got ready to cross over, Leni stepped forward.
"Could I come as well? I just love all the outfits!" she said. Lynn Sr. and Rita looked at each other before nodding.
"Actually that's perfect, you can keep an eye on the twins until Lincoln's done with his surprise." said Rita.
Leni squealed in excitement as Lana opened up a portal. Soon the fashionista and spoiled princess, crossed over to stand next to Lana. The three girls then headed to find some seats, ultimately grabbing some behind the judges stand. Lana then turned the camera on the watch so that the rest of the family could see.
The three girls chatted for a bit before the lights dimmed and a spotlight shone down on the center of the stage. There in the center of the stage was the same announcer woman from the Rustboro contest, wearing a lovely frilly pink dress, which Leni gushed over.
"Hello and good day Slateport City!" she spoke, "My name is Vivian Meridian and I am your Master of Ceremonies! Welcome to the Slateport Pokemon Contest!" The crowd roared as she paused before she motioned for quiet.
"It's great to be here with such a lovely crowd!" said Vivian, "Now let me introduce our amazing panel of judges!"
The spotlight then shone on the four judges sitting in front of the three Loud women. The crowd roared as the judges waved their hands.
"First, the head of the Pokemon Activities Committee, Mr Raoul Contesta!" said Vivian as the older man in the red suit waved at the crowd.
"Next, the President of the Pokemon Fan Club, Mr. Sukizo!" as Vivian motioned to the next judge, a short haired man in a gray shirt.
"Of course, you all know Slateport City's own Nurse Joy!" said Vivian as the Pokemon Nurse waved.
"And last, but certainly not least, Pokemon Coordinator extraordinaire, Lisia!" shouted Vivian as the spotlight shone on the final judge. The crowd roared even harder than before as Lisia stood and blew kisses to the audience.
Lola and Leni were speechless as they looked at the famous Coordinator, but for entirely different reasons. Leni because she absolutely adored Lisia's blue coordinators outfit, while Lola because she saw someone who could potentially become a role model to her.
"OMG her outfit is totes, amazing!" said Leni, to which several of the Loud sisters agreed.
"She's like a popstar and a princess in one…" said Lola as her eyes sparkled.
"Yeah. And she likes Lincoln." smirked Lana as she awaited her sister's reaction.
"WHAT!?" shouted the Loud sisters, both in attendance and at home.
"Yup. May is totally jealous about it." said Lana, which caused the Loud sisters to squeal so loudly, Lincoln heard them from the men's locker rooms.
"Was that..?" he muttered. "...nah. Couldn't be."
Back on the stage, Vivian began addressing the crowd once again.
"For those of you unfamiliar with Pokemon Contests, the competition is made up of two parts, the Appeals Stage, and the Battle Stage!" She said, "During the Appeals stage, Coordinators will try to wow the judges by showing off the beauty of their Pokemon's moves by using them in combination to make a beautiful display!"
"Those who pass the Appeals Stage will then head on to the Battle Stage! And just as it sounds, the remaining Coordinators will battle each other one on one!"
"However," she paused. "Unlike in traditional battles, Contest Battles will have a set time limit. During that time the battling trainers will earn or lose points based on how well their Pokemon perform, as well as how captivating their Pokemon's moves are! At the end of the allotted time, the Trainer with the most points will be declared the winner and shall move on to the finals where they will battle again to determine who wins the prestigious Slateport Contest Ribbon!"
A monitor lit up, showing a purple ribbon with a circular, golden medal in the center. Once again, the crowd roared as Lola looked at the ribbon in awe.
"And finally!" Vivian continued "Those lucky Coordinators who manage to attain five Contest Ribbons will be eligible to compete in the ultimate test of all Coordinators, the Pokemon Grand Festival!"
Vivian let the crowd roar their approval, before motioning for quiet. "Now to introduce our wonderful contestants! From Pewter City in the Kanto Region…give it up for Damian!"
The crowd roared as a blue-haired man in a pink shirt and brown vest with sunglasses on his head took to the stage.
"Ew gross…"said Leni, "His outfit is totes ugly."
As Damian did his routine, the Louds back at home began to wonder what Lincoln's surprise could be.
"Maybe baby bro took up an instrument," said Luna with a hopeful look.
"Nah. Link's gotten a lot more athletic, it's gotta be something related to that." said LJ
"Based on his recent activities, it's probably a new Pokemon." lisped Lisa. The Loud sisters continued to debate until Lana got their attention.
"Guys look, it's May!" said Lana as she pointed to the stage. Everyone quieted down as the pink clad girl walked on stage.
"Next up, from Littleroot Town and the winner of the Rustboro Contest, Give it up for May!" cried Vivian.
"Beautifly, take the stage!" cried May as she tossed her Pokeball. The Pokeball burst open with a series of sparkles as Beautfly took the air.
"Beautifly use Morning Sun!" yelled May. Beautifly shone brightly as an orb of light formed between its antennae. As soon as the orb was big enough, Beautifly sent it high up into the air.
"Now use Air Cutter!" cried May. Beautifly flapped its wings as bright blades of energy flew towards the light orb from Morning Sun. As the blades made contact, the orb of light burst in a shower of sparking lights that descended over the audience.
The crowd roared its approval as May bowed to the audience. The judges smiled before giving their scores.
"The use of Morning Sun paired with Air cutter, was absolutely remarkable." said Mr. Sukizo.
"Such a stunning performance," said Nurse Joy.
"I was utterly enthralled," said Mr. Contesta. Everyone turned to Lisia to see what her take was.
"While her Pokemon performed admirably, I found the trainer to be a bit stiff in her movements." said Lisia as she smirked at May.
May's face turned red as she realized that Lisia was still snubbing her because of her relationship to Lincoln.
As the crowd clapped, May headed backstage, doing her best to not let her anger get the better of her.
Stay Calm. she thought, She's just trying to get a rise out of you.
As she sat in the women's locker room, she decided to watch the other contestants perform. Soon it came to the final contestant, which she knew must be Lincoln.
Meanwhile the Loud sisters were still enjoying the different performances, each one giving some commentary here and there. But they soon fell silent as the final contestant took to the stage.
"Now for our final contestant, performing for the first time, we have Lincoln Loud of Littleroot Town!" yelled Vivian.
"Lincoln!?" yelled the Loud sisters as the spotlight shone on their brother. Lincoln stood tall waving to the audience. His outfit consisted of a black and green v-neck shirt with a yellow firefly pattern on it, with black leather trousers, and dark orange boots and red belt with a silver chain on his hip. He also wore a dark orange leather jacket, with what looked to be a crest of silver fur on his right shoulder. His outfit was then topped off with two thick strands of hair dyed, orange and yellow.
"Dudes…baby bro is ROCKIN'!" yelled Luna as the Loud sisters took in their brother's outfit.
"OMG! Linky looks amazing!" said Leni as the rest of the sisters expressed similar sentiments.
"Okay, Lola! Come on out!" cried Lincoln as he tossed out the Luxury Ball containing his Bounsweet.
"Eeeeek there's my Lola II!" squealed Lola as the Bounsweet took center stage.
"Use Razor Leaf and Sweet Scent!" yelled Lincoln. Lola II smiled and shook the leaves on her head, sending out a flurry of sharp edged leaves and shimmering pink mist that coated the still airborne leaves, causing them to shimmer brightly.
"Now use Rapid Spin!" cried Lincoln. As soon as he finished speaking, Lola II began spinning like a top, causing a cyclone effect to envelop the mist and the Razor Leaf attack. As the sharp edged leaves span, they collided causing the leaves to cut themselves into intricate designs that fluttered around the arena, causing the audience to roar in approval.
"With a performance like that, you'd never guess that the boy was a first-timer." said Mr. Contesta.
"Remarkable!" said Mr. Sukizo.
"Such a close bond between Pokemon and Trainer," said Nurse Joy.
"Woooo!" yelled Lisia, as the other judges looked at her in shock, "That was breathtaking! Go Linky!"
Lincoln bowed to the audience, being sure to wave to his family who sat open-mouthed at the display, before heading backstage. There he ran into May and the two trainers began congratulating each other on their performance.
"Lincoln!" said May, "That was incredible! How did you come up with that?"
Lincoln blushed before responding. "Umm..To be completely honest… I kinda winged it."
May's face grew blank as she processed what she had heard. "You…winged it?"
"Yeah.." Lincoln stammered. "With the cooking contest yesterday, I never had time to plan out a routine, so I kinda just hoped for the best."
May looked at her friend in disbelief, before laughing. "Well that shows how well you and your Pokemon get along if this is what you can do with little planning."
Lincoln scratched his cheek as he muttered out a quick thanks. "So who are you going to use for the battle stage?"
"I think I'm going to let Skitty have a shot," said May. "What about you?"
"I'm going with Leni." said the boy as he held out the Kirlia's Premier Ball. The two trainers looked towards the monitors in the room as another Coordinator called out that the results were ready.
Looking at the screen they saw Vivian address the crowd. "All right everyone!" she cried, "The judges have tallied the results and here are the Coordinators moving towards the next round!"
Everyone held their breath as first one then another picture showed on the screen. When May's picture came on screen everyone breathed a sigh of relief but when Lincoln's portrait came up everyone cheered in excitement.
"All right everyone!" said Vivian, "Now it's time to determine the battling order! Now here are the results!"
Soon a picture showing a tournament ranking came on screen showing which trainers would be facing each other in the battle stage. It appeared that Lincoln would be going up against the trainer from the first round, Damian. May on the other hand would be going against a red-haired woman named Grace. It soon dawned on the two that if they made it past the next couple of rounds that they may very well be facing each other in the finals.
The two trainers looked at each other as realization showed on their faces. Back in the stands the Loud sisters in attendance and at home began to realize the same thing and conflicting emotions begin to come to the forefront. Who would they support if their brother and his friend had to face each other.
Should they support Lincoln?
Or May?

A/N Sorry for the cliffhanger but as I was typing this I realized that what I planned would have made this chapter suuupeeer long so I decided to cut it in half. So the next chapter will be the conclusion of the Slateport Contest. Who will win? Find out next time!
